2. For this question I received a range
of different opinions but overall
people did like my narrative.
Respondents said that I should try
and add more conflict as it was
‘uneventful’ or not in ‘enough
depth’ which I agree with as I
mainly talked about the victim’s life
now and didn't’t really dwell on his
background which I think would be
something to do next time as being
poor and alone is relatable to a lot
of people. Overall the narrative
people liked.
3. For this question a majority of
people said to expand on the
development/struggles
between the characters which I
agree with as from the sample
video shown conflict was barely
shown so to improve my movie
I would go into depth with the
struggles the characters have
been been going through and
how through that friendships
are formed. This could then
appeal to more of a audience
and reach to a wider
demographic in which they may
or may not relate to the issues.
4. For this question 62% of
people said the style would
need to be worked on,
which I agree yet disagree
with as the style I chose
which is quite normal yet
dull gives an insight into the
protagonists life, and by
contrasting that with the
bullies being shown more as
dominant through the use
of lighting similar to Channel
4’s Hollyoaks.
On a whole though I would try and incorporate the audiences decision on the type of
style my movie should be as their opinion counts and I would try and make it dull and
harsh as possible so it feels like you are going through the journey with the
Protagonist.
5. For this question I asked about the
BBFC rating which many people
disagreed with as they felt like I
wouldn’t be able to expand on the
issues as much as it wouldn’t be
believable which I agree with. I
think by making it a U there’s less
chance of people viewing it,
whereas if it were PG like a
respondent said then maybe it will
reach a wider demographic and
the issues in there could be taken
seriously. Overall I think by giving
it a better certificate than U it will
allow me expand on the
background of the characters a bit
more and make the issues clearer
so there are less chances of them
happening in reality.
6. For this question many people
said they agree with the
characters being relatable as
people in reality could have been
through this, so I am happy that
they relate t the audience as this
was my intention. Overall I
understand that every person is
different but through the use of
characters I have tried to make the
audience feel like they are
experiencing the journey with the
characters so through this they
understand the issues and what
they can do to people.
7. For this question the responses were
50/50 as some people would’t
change the characters whereas some
would. In my opinion I would keep
the characters the same as I really
like the way they are set out and
what they're used for, but I also
agree with bringing in a bit of the
backstory in light as this could be
relatable. A couple people said to
make the bullies even more snobbish
which I don’t agree with as being a
UK film this wouldn't’t really be
accurate in my opinion.
8. For this question I
received a lot of mixed
responses which I agree
with as the issues will
help society in my opinion
probably not make a huge
difference but will make
the society better.
9. For this question I received a lot
of positive feedback as the
audience thought that the
characters being shown will be
effective in portraying the issues
and not being stereotypical or
misrepresenting them which I am
happy with.
10. For this question I received a
lot of positive feedback that I
was hoping for as the
audience thought that the
movie could eventually be
turned into a series
highlighting these issues
which will help people and
society.
11. For this question many
people said they would
recommend the movie to a
friend or family member
thus reaching a wider
demographic/audience and
outlining the issues which
could eventually be talked
about and helped with.
12. Overall, through my questionnaire I received a lot of positive feedback saying that
my movie will highlight these issues and the characters being portrayed could
possibly relate to people which is what I was aiming for. To improve next time I
would possibly change the style of the movie and make it more suitable that it
matches the mood and attitudes that the characters are feeling. This could be
done by lighting and making is harsher on the protagonist or by the use of camera
work and maybe using hand held’s shots to match with the realism of it so the
audience feel like they're experiencing the issues with the characters.
Through my movie I have included what the client brief has included and made
sure that my movie fits in with the channel 4 7pm viewing as respondents said
that the narrative I suitable to go on the show as its quite similar to Hollyoaks
which they agree with as they raise issues which are similar to the ones raised in
my movie.
