2. This is my answer to how we
attracted/addressed our audience. I will be
covering:
- References and evaluations my research and
questionnaires.
- Whether or no I think we met our target
audience.
- What we included when planning our
production that I thought would .appeal to
our audience.
4. When deciding upon the target audience we wanted to get information of what people
would be interested in the film. Once we had planned the film we went around our college
and asked various people questions about the script of our film, this was done pre
production so that we would be able to make changes based around the feedback we
were given. The feedback of our questionnaire can be found on the “Media Questionnaire
of Zombie Horror” post.

All three of our interviewees had mixed opinions on the name, with two of theme not
knowing what the term meant and one of them finding it to be “cliché”, despite this he
thought the name suited the film. Because the other interviewees didn’t understand the
term we had to base our name on this singular statement, This led us to sticking with our
original Name. The majority of the people we interviewed also found it to be of the horror
genre based solely on the script as well as statements saying the film should be directed at
people in their late teens or young adults. From this we decided that the film would be more
aimed at the more mature audience and a mix of gender. We also managed to gain an
understanding of what type of music our audience would be interested in seeing, in our
sequence, with interviewees saying that they would like both “slow mysterious” music as well
as “heavy, rock” music. We then took from this feedback and decided to attract our
audience by adding in factors that they wanted to see in our film, this meant taking what
we had learnt from our initial script based questionnaire such as the type of music involved
5. After our film had then produced we sent out ten updated questionnaires (Refer to
“Audience Feedback, Results.” post) in order for our viewers to reflect on the film and give
us feedback for anything we could improve on and whether or not we had met the criteria
for our genre as a whole. This questionnaire featured a mix of both genders, with the
majority of them being within our target audience age range (15-25). It was found that 90%
of our audience enjoyed our sequence, this is good as it shows we addressed what our
target audience wanted within the sequence. All of those who we questioned stated that it
was obvious that this film was of the zombie genre. There were other, more “mise en scene”
aspects of our film that proved to be a success for this audience, with the hospital setting
proving to be an extremely good setting for our film. This can be seen in our questionnaire as
100% of our viewers thought this was a suitable aspect.

We thought that the use of point of view shots would be beneficial for allowing our
audience to be able to relate to the main character and this proved to be the case,
6. In conclusion, I think that we have attracted
and addressed our audience well through
the use of our research, also comparing this
to the feedback we received on our film we
have made improvements based on what
our audience wanted.
Thank you!
