Crafting an essay on the subject of federalism poses a unique set of challenges that require a
comprehensive understanding of political systems, governance structures, and the intricate
balance of power between different levels of government. To begin with, delving into the
historical evolution of federalism demands extensive research to grasp the origins and contextual
nuances of the concept. The complexities of federal structures across various countries further
add layers of intricacy to the task.
Developing a coherent and insightful argument necessitates a deep exploration of the advantages
and disadvantages of federal systems. Analyzing case studies, legislative frameworks, and the
real-world implications of federalism becomes essential to provide a nuanced perspective.
Moreover, addressing the theoretical aspects of federal governance requires a meticulous
examination of political theories, constitutional principles, and the philosophical underpinnings
that shape federalist ideologies.
Creating a well-structured essay demands effective organization of ideas, clear articulation of
arguments, and seamless transitions between different sections. Balancing a critical evaluation of
federalism's merits and challenges while avoiding bias requires a careful approach to maintain
academic rigor and objectivity.

When you toss a football to one of your companions out in the back yard, you are
applying material science ideas. You need to make changes for various variables,
similar to wind, separation and weight of the ball. The more distant away the
harder you need to toss it with the end goal it should get to him. These
computations that happen in your mind is every one of the piece of material
science, you simply don t have any acquaintance with it on the grounds that it
easily falls into place. Material science is the area of science that arrangements

with football is mechanics, which is the investigation of movement. Material
science is the branch of science arrangements with the physical world. The branch
of material science that is most important to football is mechanics, the
investigation of movement and its reasons. Football use all different type of

amongst the most critical parts is having the capacity to toss or kick a football, all

One of the best quarterback s in the NFL at this moment is the newcomer, Cam

who has high speed/speed on a football toss.

toxoplasmosis. It is more common in the United States than we are made aware of.
It is commonly found in elderly persons whom were farm workers from being

4. A Separate Peace Book Vs Movie
5 minutes of information in 5 seconds. Would that be effective? John Knowles best
selling novel A Separate Peace differs from the movie by Peter Yates by a
significant amount. The difference between the movie and the novel is that in the
movie there is less character development shown and some of important plot
missing. So since the plot and character are a big part in the movie and the novel
both it is easy to know the difference in character. To begin with the first difference
between the movie and the novel is poor character development, and how the
character are shown differently in both the novel and the movie. When Gene goes to

family s strait laced burial ground outside Boston (Knowles 194). The starting and
concluding plays a big role in the novel because it sets how the story is going to
form. On the other hand in the movie Gene does not narrate the story as an adult
also the funeral of Finny is not shown either. At the start of the movie, in Devon
High School Gene should have been shown as an adult narrating the story and
towards the end of the movie Finny s funeral should have been shown. The movie
states that Gene did not narrate the novel but it was a third person who was
narrating. There was not a significant part where they showed any flashback from
Gene or any other. ! The movie itself is less efficient than the novel because of the
short time span which results in the whole plot not being

The Media of today is so open to violence that it s almost impossible to avoid.

everything with a small measuring tape instead of a big measuring tape, which
didn t help since we were taller and bigger than the measuring tape, so we had to
use two measuring tapes added together. Using a small measuring tape to find out
these measurements ended being extremely inaccurate. After data collection we
were not really sure if the numbers we got were real, and it probably affected a lot
on the way the results came out. The lab activity validity started to be questionable

8. Disadvantages Of First Time Mothers
There are three types of mothers: the first time, the perfectionist, and the best friend.
First time mothers tend to drastically prepare themselves for the arrival of their baby.
From their journey being pregnant until birth. There are many birthing choices
available, but there are two that are most common. The first one consists of having a
home birth. First time mothersconsider this option because they want to enjoy the
comfort of their home. The second most common choice is giving birth at the
hospital. Being at the hospital gives them a feeling of safety by knowing their
gynecologist is prepared for any possible complications before, during or after birth.
Before that, first time mothers are also prepare a check list on all essentials they
will be needing for their new born baby. Mothers will sit at their computers and
shop online all day adding items in their cart such as cribs, strollers, bottles, baby
monitors, and baby clothes. Once the list is completed, they re able to send the list
to their husband, friends and family members. After purchasing these items, a baby
shower is the next step! A baby shower is a celebration of the arrival of a new born.
The mothers loved ones would bring the gifts the mother specifically requested on her
check list to the celebration in honor of the new addition to the family.
First time mothers can find themselves feeling intimidated after giving birth to their
first newborn. They might ve not spent a lot of time around newborns

Introduction
Harmful algal blooms (HABs) which were once a rarity in marine ecosystems are
now reoccurring events that devastate recreational areas to deep water ecosystems
(Anderson et al., 2016). Specifically for California sea lions (CSLs), HABs through
bioaccumulation lead to domoic acid (DA) poisoning. Domoic Acid is naturally
occurring in algal blooms; however, due to anthropogenic influences and climate
change, the population of algal blooms that contain DA are increasing (Cook et al.,
2016).
With thousands of CSLs and entire marine ecosystems facing the effects of DA
poisoning, veterinary technicians ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Epidemiology:
CSLs showing signs of DA poisoning at the Marine Mammal Center were sedated
and studied using MRI. Neuro radiologists viewed 34 brain scans taken and noted
abnormalities in brain structure. The severity of brain damage took into account the
type of brain damage the mammal was exhibiting: hippocampal atrophy, temporal
horn enlargement, and parahippocampal atrophy, in addition to the severity of each
(Thomas, 2010). From this information, calculations were made to create a brain
damage index (BDI) for CSLs. The study showed 12 had an acute case of DA
poisoning, and 22 had chronic DA poisoning (Thomas, 2010). During a harmful algal
bloom in 2014 near the Monterey Bay region, of all the CSLs that were rescued and
studied, 41% showed signs of having DA poisoning ranging from mild to severe
(Anderson et al., 2016).
Detecting the movement of DA up the food chain is a challenge. Models are
currently used to predict the number of animals affected by DA. These numbers
depend heavily on being able to track and study the animals as they move to
different locations. How long an animal was in an area of HABs and what that
animal ate create a barrier in identifying how many animals have been affected and
to what degree. (Lefebvre et al., 2016)
Clinical Presentation Diagnosis: Most CSLs affected by DA show signs of being
disoriented. They often become stranded on shore and sometimes in

11. Taking a Look at Capital Structure
LITERATURE REVIEW
Literature Review:
Rao (2001) made an attempt to explain the variation of capital structure across
industries in India during pre and post liberalization regime and also examine if there
is any significant change in average industry level capital structure during post
liberalization regime. The study is based on industry wise data of 85 industries in
manufacturing sector the results shows that there has been significant decrease in
leverage during post liberalization regime and there has been change in set of
explanatory variables for capital structure. The most significant explanatory variables
for capital structure during pre liberalization regime were the measure of profitability,
risk and asset type. During post liberalization regime measure of profitability, growth
and asset type were the most significant variables.
Bhaduri (2002) studied the capital structure choice in developing countries through
a case study of Indian corporate sector, for the period 1989 90 to 1994 95, based on
a sample of 363 firms across nine industries. The author has reported optimal capital
structure choice is influenced by factors such as growth, cash flow size and product
industry and characteristics.

having a superiority complex, wanting to be admired, and showing no empathy
toward her young daughter. She also proves that she wants to be admired and that
she is worthy of love when she asks Christina Why can t you give me the respect

boy from her boarding school. Although the headmistress of the school says that it
was innocent and both children have been properly punished, Joan pulls Christina out
of the school and calls the school a teenage brothel , belittling the school and the
13. Relationship Between God And Israel
TB 133 140 The author dives into chapter six by addressing the prophetic themes,
covenant, judgment and redemption. According to the author all the prophets have
a special relationship between God and Israel. They all share a common theme as
well. Themes include announcement of judgment on Israel, punishment,
announcement of restoration after a rebellion and comparisons of Israel. The
author also points out what Israel is the main focus throughout the old testament.
God choose Israel and entered into a covenant so his expectations are high
compared to other nations living at that time. Which is why intense images being
express the relationship between God and Israel. Such images include parent
child, husband wife, church bride, shepherd flock, owner vineyard and potter clay.
When Israel rebels against God Israel is compared to a prostitute or camel.
However, even when Israel is beyond redemption, the chosen prophets beg for
repentance from the nation of Israel. More common is the image of people turning
away from God even when presented salvation. The author presents the prophetic
books in canonical order. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and the Scroll of the Twelve are
presented to the reader providing an introduction of each book. According to the
author the book of Isaiah is a view into the school of prophecy descending from the
great eighth century. Additionally, evidence has surfaced confirming Isaiah did not
write the entire book himself but rather is a complied

Mary Shelley s Frankenstein and Robert Louis Stevenson s Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
are two horrific tales of science gone terribly wrong. Shelley?s novel eloquently tells
the story of a scientist, Victor Frankenstein, who creates a living monster out of
decomposed body parts, while Stevenson?s novel describes the account of one, Henry
Jekyll, who creates a potion to bring out the pure evil side to himself. Although the
two scientists differ in their initial response and action to their creations, there are

(Stevenson 107). Here, Henry Jekyll displays his awe and wonder of his new
discovery. He feels a sense of power and overwhelming wickedness. From the
quotation, it seems appropriate to conjecture that Dr. Jekyll was enthusiastic about
testing out his ?new creation,? as if he were a child and it a toy.
Here, is another difference between the two doctors. Dr. Frankenstein(after realizing
what he has done) halts all of his experiments and does away with his laboratory
anything to get his mind of his terrible creation. He travels around, always
watching his back expecting his creature to be there. Dr. Frankenstein has many
qualities of the classic Byronic hero; a character that shows romanticized sorrow
and pity for himself. ? . . . I am a blasted tree,? he says, ?the bolt has entered my
soul; and I felt then that I should survive to exhibit what I shall soon cease to be a
miserable spectacle of wrecked humanity, pitiable to others and intolerable to
myself? (Shelley 153). In this quotation, he shows romanticized self pity and
remorse for what he has created. Victor calls himself a ?miserable spectacle of
wrecked humanity.? By this he feels his life is over; he can no long face the world a
decent man.
Dr. Jekyll, on the other hand, like a child, is thrilled with his new discovery and

16. Biomass And Renewable Sources Of Energy
Executive summary
Biomass has become one of the most commonly used renewable sources of energy
in the last two decades. Many of the biomass fuels used today come in the form of
wood products, dried vegetation, crop residues, and aquatic plants. It is such a
widely utilized source of energy, probably due to its low cost and indigenous
nature, that it accounts for almost 14% of the world s total energy supply and as
much as 35% in developing countries, mostly for cooking and heating. The wood
from trees is most common biomass used for energy. It has been used by humans for
producing energy for heating and cooking for a very long time. Biomass cannot
replace our current dependence on coal, oil, and natural gas, but it can complement
other renewables such as solar and wind energy. To converted biomass into usable
energy in ways that are more efficient, less polluting, and at least as economical,
technological innovations will be needed. Gasification is considered as a key
technology for the use of biomass. In order to promote this technology in the future,
advanced, cost effective, and highly efficient gasification processes and systems are
required. Generally all different types of biomass can be converted by gasification
into syngas mainly comprising hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and
methane. . From this syngas, all kinds of energy or energy carriers such as heat,
power, biofuels, hydrogen, biomethane and chemicals can be provided.

The seizure of private property by the government with compensation to the owner is
known as eminent domain. The compensation that the owners receive is supposed to
be fair market value. Eminent domain includes forcing citizens to sell their property
for the use of private commercial development. Eminent domain comes from a
moralistic culture. Those who are liberal are concerned with the greater good of the
public. Liberals believe that eminent domain should be allowed, so long as those who
are losing their propertyare compensated. Liberals believe it is okay if it is for the
benefit of the public. However, conservatives are also concerned with the public.
They are opposed to seizure of private property to achieve a public goal.
Conservatives believe it is not right to force people to sell their property in most cases.
I am a conservative, and I do not agree with the seizure of privately owned property

LITERATURE REVIEW: Chelating agents, because of their metal specificity or
selectivity, can function as good flotaids and selective flocculants. In addition to the
metal selectivity, chelating agents offer certain advantages over conventional
mineral processing reagents even from the synthesis point of view. With the major

further possibilities for the incorporation of the required properties. In general, the

According to Abhayawansa Guthrie (2014), Australia has become so much
dependent on the advanced technologies and computing system to enhance the
business. Most of the Business owners have become depended on the computers for
the calculating process in these days. The Australian business owners are also in the
same path in these days.
From the ancient age, business owners of this country are using accounting software
for the improvements of the business process. As per the opinion of Lim Perrin
(2014), the processes of using the accounting software in Australia were same as the
Egyptians used for their business. In 1964, this country adopted the accounting
software for the financial transactions as well as monetary functions of the company.
In 1974, business owners of the organisations were using the process of accounting,
which was popular among the Egyptians, which were used in 3000 years ago. In the
modern days, various accounting software are used among the business owners to
calculate financial aspects and to reduce human errors in calculations (Van Akkeren,
Buckby MacKenzie, 2013).

24. The Counseling Program For Clinical Mental Health
Throughout the counseling program for clinical mental health in Edinboro
University, students will be required to take a course called group processes. In
group processes, students will learn the necessary skills and knowledge of
counseling in a group setting as a group facilitator. The course will focus on many
topics such as 1) personal qualities. 2) world view. 3) beliefs. 4) values. 5) attitudes.
6) multicultural competencies. 7) students personal goals. 8) countertransference
issues. 9) strengths and weaknesses. And 10) what students have learned throughout
the assignments and experiences. Facilitators should have a set of personal qualities
that help individuals by empowering them to find strengths and solutions themselves.
professional group facilitators must display qualities about themselves which can be
used as a model for the members, displaying how responses and conversations
should be like. Having a flexible worldview is necessary for counselors to understand
and accept cultureas an effective factor when considering group therapy. Worldview
is the way in which we perceive the world from the perspective of all our beliefs. It
is these beliefs that shape or view of the world (Gerig, 2014). A counselor must have
a flexible worldview to attempt to understand what a member is thinking, feelings,
etc. and understand why they might be feeling those thoughts or feelings. Counselors
beliefs have an influence on group therapy in many ways, 1) Our perspective of
25. Dame Mary Gilmore Essay
Dame Mary Gilmore is an Australian socialist poet and journalist, her first volume
of poetry was published in 1910, as she was regarded as one of Australia s most
read poets. The measure by Dame Mary Gilmore responds to the quote by Wilfred
Owen, My subject is War and the pity of War. The Poetry is in the pity. This is
shown through the four approaches to poetry, they represent the socio cultural and
historical background of war, as well as revealing Gilmore s attitudes, values and
ideas.
Throughout the poem Dame Mary Gilmore revealed her attitudes, values, and ideas
of war through the message conveyed in the text. The poet shows her attitudes,
values, and ideas on war as the text unfolds. It is quite evident that Dame Mary

The response the reader may feel after reading the text may be misconception,
disconsolate, relatable, or sympathetic towards whoever it effected. These
emotions are shown in the second and first stanzas, When is says must the young

sympathy for the soldiers fighting at war, it forces reader to be positioned to
imagine what it was like in the soldier s shoes. The second example is There are
the days of all men s tears Tears like the endless drop that wears This quote from the
poem creates sadness. This is evident because the action of crying involves tears
which are linked to the emotion of sadness. There are 6 evident poetic devices,
alliteration, imagery, perspective, repetition, stanza, and rhyme. Alliteration,
repetition and rhyme are shown throughout the whole entire poem, whereas
perspective and imagery is only shown a couple of times during the whole poem.
Imagery and point of view is shown in the first lines of each stanza while Alliteration,
repetition, stanza and rhyme are apparent in each line of each stanza. Hence, Poetic
devices create an emotional response from the

The purpose of this article by Garrett (2011) was investigated the problems with
invalid and/or unreliable forensic evidence that lead to wrongful convictions by
investigating exoneration case, in which faulty forensic evidence was presented. This
is important to the fields of law and psychology because forensic evidenceis still used
in many cases, despite not being the most reliable evidence. In exoneration cases
using serology, 58% included invalid testimony, of these 51 cases included an error
where the serology evidence was inconclusive because it matched the victim.
Another common error is analyst erroneously dividing frequencies in half.

their partner to be an introvert or an extrovert. In a study where participants were

way to confirm their hypothesis. Motivation goals influence reasoning. There are
two kinds of motivation goals: accuracy goals and directional goals. Directional
goals can guide perception. In a 2006 study where participants were shown a

Yale College in 1761 and went on to study medicine. He was the first physician to
be a governor in Georgia. During his time as governor the British were just leaving
Augusta. While the British were in control of Georgia, its residence divided
between loyalist and patriots. Once the British left, Brownson had to bring those
two groups back together. Brownson also found a way to gain back the population
of people that had fled during the war. After Brownson graduated he set up a

The third attempt, in 1778, to take over St. Augustine was probably the best

their side. The only problem with this attempt was the commanders of the troops.
Howe, John Houstoun, Andrew Williamson, and Oliver Brown were all meant to

who would be the commander, while Brown refused to take orders from either since
he did not know what kind of navy he had: Continental or state. They made it to St.

28. We Wish You A Larry Christmas Song Analysis Essay
We Wish You a Merry Christmas is an English folk song from the 1500s and is the
remnant of a time when poor carolers would hit up wealthy listeners for handouts. It
s a cheeky tune which recognizes the dynamic between rich and poor, calling for
figgy pudding and refusing to leave the wealthy person s doorstep until some is
delivered right here. This is an awfully ardent demand for a Christmassong, so it s
meant to be sung with a certain degree of joshing. The song itself was meant for
carolers who were hired to entertain the wealthy, in turn, the carolers would receive
treats.
The use of onomatopoeia affects the song by reinforcing the message of the song.

29. Toxic Leadership Essay
Leadership is that process in which one person sets the purpose or direction for one
or more other persons and gets them to move along together with him or her and with
each other in that direction with competence and full commitment (Elliott, 2009).
Leadership is supposed to guide people to attain a particular set vision. Motivation is
fundamental in the process of leadershipas if there is no motivation there will be
laxity among the people involved. It is also a critical scenario for leadership to
have followers; this will infer a relationship between leaders and followers (Frank,
2003). Emotions of a leader are so important in this aspect of leadership. It is through
emotions that the leader will be categorized as toxic or... Show more content on

Those leaders that are frequently nervous, annoyed and irritated can be emotionally
toxic leaders. Many leaders from this category are often overwhelmed by these
negative emotions and they cannot even be aware of the negative consequences they
produce (Goleman, 2005).
1.Toxic leadership A toxic leader can be defined as leader motivated by
egocentrism, self interest and show no concern for those below him, and his actions
negatively affect the organizational climate. They exalt themselves in turf protection,
fighting and controlling their followers instead of uplifting them. Toxic leaders are
very destructive and they only focus on short term accomplishments and they
destroy their followers to achieve those objectives. Their decisions are made hasty
and they change their decisions without any justified rationale. Mostly, they lazy
around only to make hasty decisions when it is too late and the crisis is already in
place. Such decisions have no time to be thought over and therefore, they are
continuously changed throughout implementation so as to work effectively and
may even be altered completely thereby making the whole process messy (Seeger,
2005). According to Lipman Blumen, toxic leadership is also influenced by the type
of followers a leader has. Followers limit the leadership qualities of a leader when
they become unruly and rebellious prompting him to act arrogantly and rude. He
points out that leaders are human and are imperfect
30. Analysis Of Bermudas By Andrew Marvell
The poem Bermudas is written by Andrew Marvell in seventeenth century
celebrating the establishment of a new colony in the island called Bermuda. This
poem is inspired Marvell wrote the poem in couplets of rhyming iambic tetrameter.
Marvell structured the poem as a song of praise, sung by the group of English
colonists as they arrive to the islands by boat. The sonnet starts with the storyteller
presenting the scene on the sea off the remote Bermudas , where a gathering of
English settlers in a small boat are singing. Marvell compares the Bermudaislands to
a bigger watercraft, as they ride in the ocean s chest unespied. He quickly exhibits
the parallel picture of the pilgrims in their own small boat and strikes a tone of
harmony... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a poet, he began writing at a young age though his initial poems that were
published. while he was still in college, were in Greek and Latin. It is ironical that
much of his sarcastic political satires were not published during his lifetime, and he
became recognized as a major poet only after his death. The life of this enigmatic
poet has always fascinated historians due to the scarcity of information about his
personal life.
Nature and the title of the poem:
As we see the title of the very poetry we can easily understand it is chosen with the
context. Bermuda is an island located in the Atlantic ocean. As it is written at the title
about an island it is so obvious that natural details would be there. And so the poet
deals with the matter so effectively.
Textual reference of natural details:
That led us through the watery maze The oceans around the Bermuda island are
stormy and hazardous to explore. The natural obstacle face by the people who
wanted to come there is expressed by the beautiful phrase watery maze. Going
through the maze is very difficult and creates anxiety. After reaching destination
through this path relief comes in mind and the joy cannot be explained in words.
Comparing to that situation after the hazardous, fearful way through the rough ocean
the pilgrims of England were so happy to find the island and praising god for leading
them to this bountiful land.
He gave us this eternal spring
31. Essay on Biblical Flood of Noah in Genesis and the...
The Flood of Noah and the Gilgamesh Flood
The Sumero Babylonian version of the epic of Gilgamesh, after two and a half
millennia of dormancy, was resurrected by British archaeologists in the nineteenth
century. Amid the rubble of an Assyrian palace, the twelve clay tablets inscribed the
adventures of the first hero of world literature King Gilgamesh, whose oral folk tales
go back to at least 3000 years before Christ (Harris 1). Tablet XI contains the story of
the Flood. In this essay let us compare this flood account to the more recent Noah s
Flood account in Genesis of the Old Testament.
Column 1 on Tablet 11 begins the Sumero Babylonian Flood narrative (Gardner 226).

In Column 2 of Tablet 11 the Sumero Babylonian Flood narrative continues with the
measurements and construction of the ark:
One acre was its whole floorspace; ten dozen cubits the height of each wall; ten
dozen cubits its deck, square on each side.
I [Utnapishtim] laid out the contours, drew it all.
I gave it six decks and divided it, thus, into seven parts.
Its innards I divided into nine parts.
I struck water plugs into it.
I checked the poles and laid in all that was necessary.
I poured 24,000 gallons of bitumen into the kiln; the same amount I laid on the inside.
The basket bearers brought on three shars of oil in addition to the shar of oil
consumed in the seed meal and the two shars of oil stowed away by the
boatman.(Gardner 231)
On the seventh day the ark was completed. It was launched, and then loaded with all
my kin and family and with the animals of the fields. This ark has twice the number
of floors as Noah s ark. After the Jewish Old Testament establishes reasons for the
Flood, then it proceeds with specific building instructions to Noah in Genesis 6:14:
Make yourself an ark of gopher wood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside
and out with pitch. This is how you are to make it: the length of the ark three
hundred cubits, its breadth fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits. Make a roof for
the ark, and finish it to a cubit above; and set the door
32. Narrative Vs Native American Culture
Narratives are inherently intimate in their expression. Especially in oral storytelling,
this can be seen by the immense control the storyteller has on the actual story. A
storyteller can shape his own story through his imagination, or he can mold a story
he s heard to fit within his ideals. Good storytellers can improvise, add and delete
details of a narrativebased on the crowd he s telling it to, and mold it into
personalized experience. In this case, the narrative is influenced by both the
storyteller and the listener, and they can act as a border to contain the ideas
presented in the narrative. Even when the narrative is disparate from the reader, the
reader still has immense control over his overall narrative experience. A reader can...

Their cultural biases can affect how they look at a story and how they pose it to
others. For example, in the story Kochinnenako, the English version s structure
version varies greatly from the Indian s version. In the Native American s version,
there is a focus on balance and harmony, in which the plot is focused on the revival
and maintenance of the harmony between summer and winter. The structures of the
sentences are short and simple, as the emphasis on description of events rather than a
subject and an object. Also the story doesn t linger long with any characters,
highlighting the coherence and importance as the tribe as a whole. This contrasts
greatly from how the Western version is told. Western individualism creeps into the
plot. Now the protagonist becomes summer, the antagonist becomes winter and the
Kochinnenako becomes the plot. The plot revolves around the fight between good
and evil, good personified as the warm, embracing, and strong summer and against
the harsh, cold, and bitter winter. The plot also introduces a romantic aspect, where
summer saves Kochinnenako from winter, and breaks the marriage imposed by the
tribe. The Western s masculine individualistic view differs greatly from the feminine,
socialistic view of the original story, and greatly alters the
33. The Problem Of Teenage Pregnancy
Like Amy and Loeber (2009), when it comes to the ecological paradigm of teenage
pregnancy, Corcoran, Franklin, and Bennett (2000) also believe one s socioeconomic
status is a huge factor that contributes to this problem. A person s socioeconomic
status a lot of times determines education, expanded family size, single parent
household structure, and lessened resources in terms of employment and income.
These three authors claim that educational performance and goals dictate the
potential costs of child bearing at a young age. Their studies have also shown that
teenage girls relationships with the school setting and poorer performance in school
serve a greater risk for adolescent pregnancy. Corcoran, Franklin and Bennett (2000)
confirm, being part of a single parent household seems to act as a risk factor for
early pregnancy. Among singe parent households, conflict within the family, stress,
and less monitoring and control of children occurs, which the authors say can
increase the risk of teen pregnancy. In addition, teenagers experiencing family
problems might be more at risk for influence by a negative peer group that could
potentially lead to motherhood at an early age. They also claim support is indicated
for parental control over teen activities as a protective factor against teenage
pregnancy that a lot of times isn t found in single parent homes.
Bentham (2012) not only considers a dysfunctional home background, but also

35. Similarities Between The United States And The Federal
System
The United States Federal System and the current Federal System for the European
Union have many similarities and differences. The traditional division of the
functions of a federal government are the legislative, executive and the judicial
branch. The United States is made up all three branches separately to check potential
abuses and balance each of the branches. The European Union also has three main
political institutions that constitute the executive and legislative branches, as well as
the independent judiciary with the power to exercise judicial review (European
Parliament).
The legislative Branch for the United States is divided into two parts: House of
Representatives and the Senate. The House is made up of 435 elected members,
which is divided among the 50 states in amount to their total population. The
Speaker of the House, who is the third in the line of succession to the Presidency, is
elected by the Representatives. The members of the House are elected every two

as the House and the Parliament. The only differences between the Senate and the
Council are: there are two senators from each Senators from each State in the Senate
while there is one representative from each Member State government and one vote

Those who write on the human condition are often philosophers who write with
convoluted language that few can understand. Kurt Vonnegut, however, focuses on
the same questions, and provides his own personal answers with as much depth as
that of the must educated philosopher. He avoids stilted language typical of
philosophers, using shorter sentences, less complex vocabulary, humorous tangents,
and outrageous stories to get his point across. With this style, Vonnegutpresents the
age old question How do we as humans live in this world? in a manner appealing and
understandable to the less educated mass. When offering advice to writers on how to

existence on this planet. In Timequake, Vonnegut said, I had to add, though, that I
knew a single word that proved our democratic government was capable of
committing obscene, gleefully rabid and racist, yahooistic murders of unarmed
men, women, and children, murders wholly devoid of military common sense. I
said the word. It was a foreign word. That word was Nagasaki (196). Although
nobody truly deserves to die because of war, the dropping of the second atomic
bomb killed civilians who had done nothing to deserve their fate. America had
already proved it had the power to destroy large masses of humans, yet out of
cruelty, decided to drop the second a couple of days later. Vonnegut said, the people
in a country called Germany were so full of bad chemicals for a while that they
actually built factories whose only purpose was to kill people by the millions. The
people were delivered by railroad train (Breakfast of Champions, p.137). War is hate.

Young Janice Delarosa was a girl endeared and loved by her mother. As the first
and only child after her mother s eight miscarriages it was clear to see that she was
a miracle baby, one that her mother always claimed, would bring her good fortune .
But, for some reason, the goodness of her birth never came to fame as Janice was
secretly a child of misfortune.
No one could pinpoint why there were so many tragedies within the Delarosa family.
It was as if death oozed from their bodily essence. It started with the death of Mr
Delarosa at Janice s birth. For some reason, he went into cardiac arrest as soon as she
came out of her mother s womb. When Janice asked what happened to her father, her
mother said, his heart couldn t bear the joy of seeing his first child . At the time it
seemed like a logical explanation, but as the years went by anyone that
encountered the family would drop like flies. The incident where Uncle Martel got
hit by a bus or Aunt Nicey falling from a flight of stairs did not trigger any
suspicions. It was just their time to go. But what put the icing on the cake was the
loss of Janice s doting mother Karen Delarosa. Rattled with grief and guilt, Janice
became overwhelmed by these series of tragedies that plagued her from the
beginning of her time. For anyone, this would bring unbearable pain that would
dissipate over time, but for a girl of such a young age, it was a devastating blow to
the world she knew.

a good time through the hard times and the easier experiences. This is what my
father and mother instilled in me from since the time I was a youth: all we have is
our health, and that is not worth building stress over. In a way, calypso music and
listening to it in conjunction with pan has helped me build this mindset over the
years. In car rides with them, they would discuss life in Trinidad coming up with
calypso music and how it has made them feel.
Coming up in Trinidad, my parents told me of the pan yards that surrounded their
neighborhoods, from Tableland to San Fernando, the pannists would beat drum in the
yards all
40. My Canadian Permanent Resident Status
I immigrated to Canada 5 years ago and started my life from scratch. Although
every newcomer has his own immigration and adaptation experience, there are
almost always undeniable difficulties associated with this process. As for me, I had to
make a hard decision a few years ago. As far as I can see, it is the root cause of my
current problems. I was a successful Graphic Design student and had a 4.0 GPA.
Moreover, I received a Certificate of Excellence, and, of course, I had high hopes
for a brilliant career and a bright future. However, I had to leave a college when I
was a final year student, only a few months before a final project submission. I had to
do that in order to keep my Canadian permanent resident status. Thus, I came to...

However, my joy is marred by the fact that I have to cope with significant financial
problems. During all these years I was forced to take low wage jobs and, as a
result, I don t have any savings. I live on my own. My amazing parents have
supported me morally and financially throughout my life, but they are not young
already and close to retirement age. As a 30 year old woman, I realize that very
soon it will be my turn to take care of them. I live alone and have to pay all learning
and living costs and to support myself. My student loan will not cover my
accommodation costs. These are the realities of my life. That is why receiving
this scholarship means a lot to me. It will give me the opportunity to complete my
education and subsequently will allow me to succeed in life. Therefore, any
financial help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and
consideration. My choice of a Dental Assistant program was not occasional. When
I was 21 years old, I was involved in a terrible accident. I have been seriously
injured after I was thrown off the back of a motorcycle. My physical recovery
process was long and painful. However, in spite of numerous injuries, I successfully
moved through the recovery process. Strangely enough, I was not concerned about
broken shoulder, ankle fracture, and even my injured facial bones. I knew that I was
strong enough mentally and physically to cope with that.

Identify the significant characters and forces that may be considered antagonistic in
the novel. Note that in each case, you need to identify the character(s) to whom those
antagonists stand in opposition.
Antagonist
Bob ewell is the main antagonist in the novel. He is representative of the racism that
works against scouts growing progressive perspective, his hateful ways promote
loathing against others that blur her opinions of right and wrong, and her place in the
society of maycomb. He also antagonizes scout because he attempts ... Show more

the fact that she asked such childish questions to a group of poor and rugged
children suggest that she does not know the crowd to which she teaches or the
relevance of their personal experience. Her exaggerated enormous square writing
along with these obvious questions lead the reader to think she has an air of
superiority to the children, or that she believes they are stupid. This is indirect
characterization because scout does not state her personal opinion of the teacher at
any point but only words and gestures allowing the reader to deduce based of those
42. The Satanic Verses Analysis
In The Satanic Verses, numerous symbols illustrate how human nature is the source
of the evil. Furthermore, the symbolic significance that pertains to the main
character also shows how all individuals have both good and bad qualities. A
repeating motif in the book is the reference to the play Othello . Skapearses famous
play follows the life of the Moor Othelloafter is marriage to Desdemona. Iago, a loyal
friend of Othello, was furious that the Moor overlooked him for a promotion,
sparking his lust for revenge. Iago devised a plan to persuade the King that his had
been having an affair with his trusted friend Cassio. Iago s actions resulted in the
Moor killing Desdemona. After learning the truth, Othello committed suicide. The
references to the play foreshadow the ending of the novelbut also gives further
explanations to the actions of Gibreel. The first mentions of Othello only occurred
to criticize Shakespeare because he couldn t spell (256). The primary reference
occurs when Gibreel wondered about the creation of evil, why it grows, how it
takes unilateral possession of a many sided human soul. Or, let s say: the enigma of
Iago (439). Gibreel continues by denying his allegations saying he s, no match for
the moor (439). Gibreel turns out to me more naive than the moor because the events
that occur in Othello are mirrored in the novel. Gibreel assumes the role of Othello,
Saladin Iago, and Gibreel s love interest Allie Cone, Desdemona. Gibreel inherited the

Degraded Role of Women in The Merry Wives of Windsor
In Shakespeare s comedy, The Merry Wives of Windsor, there are two plots that
ultimately converge into the concept of marriage; one is the antics executed by the
wives, and the other is the marriage of Anne Page. Both of these plots subversively
yield a disheartening attitude towards the view of women within the scope of the
play. Wives in The Merry Wives of Windsor are not acknowledged as much beyond
commodities, not to be entrusted to their own wills, and are considered anonymous,
degraded figures by men. By examining the use of the word wife , the characters who
use it most frequently, how it is used, and by examining the surrounding text and
context, one can reach these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Comparing Ford s proposition to Falstaff with a business transaction would not be
degrading the situation. When Pistol enlightens Ford to the advances of Falstaff
upon his wife, Ford responds that it is most unlikely because his wife is not
young. Pistol advises that this does not depreciate Mistress Ford s value to Falstaff
because, He woos both high and low, both rich and poor, Both young and old, one
with another, Ford. He loves the gallimaufry. Ford, perpend, (2.1.108 110). This
conversation establishes Mistress Ford s value; it is an appraisal. It is important
to note that not here, and at no place else, is Mistress Ford s name, nor any form of
it mentioned; she is referred to as simply my or thy wife. Ford even goes so far as
to personally address one of the women as simply, wife . This can be observed in
act four, when talking to Mrs. Page Ford says, Pardon me, wife (4.4.6). It is equally
noteworthy that in listing various qualities of a wife, Pistol includes rich and poor.
Usually such factors would be considered circumstances rather than personal
attributes. Once Ford s plan is in action the next step in the process is negotiation. In
act two, scene two Ford (under the visage of Master Brook) straightforwardly makes
his proposal to Falstaff. Ford offers Falstaff money and encourages him to spend it
freely. Though Ford acknowledges that he is giving the
45. The Role Of Violence In Apollo And Daphne By Daphne
The desires of sex and love, power, and respect lead to victims of violence, self
inflicted or otherwise, who are trapped in a corner where either death or
transformation are the only forms of escape. Sexual desire is one of the biggest
forces influencing the gods to commit acts of violence. In heterosexual relationships,
where one party is of divine nature, they suggest that violence is in the form of a
chase, ultimately leading to rape. Through this, the reader finds himself in the world
of the primitive hunting instincts of man. In the story of Apolloand Daphne, Daphne
was Apollo s first lovenot by coincidence, but by the work of Cupid. The irony
behind the function of Cupid is how violence is used to gain love. Arrows are often
used for hunting to kill animals, yet here weapons, violence, and assault are used as
the tools of desire. Cupid shot Apollo, causing him to lustafter Daphne and Daphne
got shot with the arrow causing her to be put off by the idea of love. Daphne
originally was a hunter, as she loved to hunt and called it joy to roam within the
forest s deep seclusion (1.658 659). As Apollo lusts after Daphne, the role reversal
of hunter and prey is seen. Daphne no longer assumes the role of the hunter as she
desperately flees like the lamb flees wolf, thus dove from eagle flies on trembling
wings, thus deer form lioness, thus any creature flees its enemy (1.698 700). Apollo
then makes the claim that he is stalking her because of love (1.701). Through
