Evaluation of Wind Power for Electrical Energy Generation in the Mediterranea...IJECEIAES
The generation, distributionand transmission of electricity in Palestine have recently emerged as major issues. This study comprehensively assesses the production of wind energy and the estimation of wind energy potential in Palestine’s south coastal plain. The goal is to evaluate Palestine’s wind energy production by studying wind data and calculating energy and power. This study analyses two actual time series datasets. Findings are elaborated to determine the wind energy conversion per 1 m2. The wind speed data from January 1996 to December 2006 in Gaza and from January 2012 to December 2015 in Ashqelon are selected as the data sample. This study is crucial given the need for clean and renewable energy, the power shortage in the Gaza Strip and the limited number of wind energy studies conducted in the south coastal plain of Palestine, especially Gaza Strip. This study estimates the wind energy potential of the Gaza Strip to determine the wind potential. The annual mean wind speed and power are 4.11 ms-1 and 903.4 Wm-2, respectively. Moreover, the study clarifies the electrical energy generation in the Gaza Strip using small-scale turbines and offers a feasible alternative to existing schemes.

Abstract Man has been doing business with Winds since a very long period of time; the wind power has been used as long as humans have put sails into the wind. For more than two millennia wind powered machines have ground grain and pumped water. This affiliation of man and wind is inexhaustible which makes Wind Energy a very significant and rapidly developing renewable energy sources in all over the world. But when it comes to electricity generation by harnessing the wind energy, indeed, it requires more technicality, since it requires a great need for correct and reliable installations of new wind turbines in a more optimized way for smooth operations and electricity productions, and for that, a precise knowledge of wind energy regime is a prerequisite for the efficient and optimized extraction of power from the wind. The main purpose of this paper is to present, in brief, wind potential and to perform an investigation on wind flow characteristics at RGPV Hill Top. In this work the recorded time series wind data for a period of five months as from july-2013 to November-2013 at the heights of 20 meters and 40 meters was fetched and analyzed for studying the observed wind climate, which was recorded by the NRG Symphonie Data logger wind mast installed at Energy Park, RGPV campus with an fixed averaging interval of 10 minutes, the analyzed data which was worked upon comprises of wind speed data in meter per second and its direction of flow in degrees. As a part of this work, the Wind Atlas Analysis and Application Program (WAsP) was employed to predict average mean-wind speeds for all directions for some desired sites. The influences of roughness of the terrain, for the area were also taken into consideration, followed by the vector map of the area. These data were analyzed using WAsP software and regional wind climate of the area was determined, leading to a wind resource map of the whole site, providing crucial details which helped in selecting the proposed turbine sites. Also, the AEP for the two already installed turbines was calculated.
Design And Analysis Of Savonius Wind Turbine BladesIJERA Editor
There are two kinds of wind turbines according to the axis of rotation to the ground, horizontal axis wind
turbines (HAWT) and vertical axis wind turbines (VAWT). VAWTs include both a drag type configuration like
Savonius wind turbine and a lift-type configuration like Darrieus wind turbine. Savonius wind rotor has many
advantages such as low starting speeds and no need for external torque for its starting. Moreover it is cheaper in
construction and has low maintenance. It is independent of the wind direction and has a good starting torque at
lower wind speeds. The experimental study conducted in this paper aims to investigate the effect of number of
blades and other criteria that can affect the performance of the model of Savonius type wind turbine. The
experiments used to compare 2, 3, and 4 blades wind turbines to show tip speed ratio, torque and power
coefficient related with wind speed. A simulation using ANSYS 13.0 software will show pressure distribution of
wind turbine. The results of study showed that number of blades influence the performance of wind turbine.
Savonius model with three blades has the best performance at high tip speed ratio.
Review of a Shrouded Wind Turbine for Low Wind Speedsdbpublications
The use of renewable energy is promoted
worldwide to be less dependent on fossil fuels
andnuclear energy. Therefore research in the field
is driven to increase efficiency of renewable energy
systems. This study aimed to develop a wind
turbine for low wind speeds. The extent of power
increase, or augmentation, the factors influencing
shrouded wind turbine performance, the optimal
geometry and economical benefit remained
unanswered.
The most important matter at hand when dealing
with a shrouded wind turbine is to determine if the
overall diameter or the blade diameter of the
turbine should be the point of reference. As the
wind turbine is situated in a shroud that has a larger
diameter than the turbine blades, some researchers
believe that the overall diameter should be used to
calculate the efficiency Theory was revised to
determine the available energy in the shroud after
initial calculations showed that the power
coefficients should have been higher than the open
wind turbine with the same total diameter. A new
equation was derived to predict the available
energy in a shroud.

Design & Analysis of a Helical Cross Flow TurbineAnish Anand
We investigate the flow past a cross flow hydrokinetic turbine (CFHT)in which a helical blade turns around a shaft perpendicular to the free stream under the hydrodynamic forces exerted by the flow. The ability of a cross flow turbine to rotate in the same direction independent of the water flow direction gives an advantage for hydrokinetic applications.
This type of turbine, while very different from the classical horizontal axis turbine commonly used in the wind energy field, presents advantages in the context of hydro kinetic energy harvesting, such as independence from current direction, including reversibility, stacking, and self-starting without complex pitch mechanisms.
Coordination of blade pitch controller and battery energy storage using firef...TELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
Utilization of renewable energy sources (RESs) to generate electricity is increasing significantly in recent years due to global warming situation all over the world. Among RESs type, wind energy is becoming more favorable due to its sustainability and environmentally friendly characteristics. Although wind power system provides a promising solution to prevent global warming, they also contribute to the instability of the power system, especially in frequency stability due to uncertainty characteristic of the sources (wind speed). Hence, coordinated controller between blade pitch controller and battery energy storage (BES) system to enhance the frequency performance of wind power system is proposed in this work. Firefly algorithm (FA) is used as optimization method for achieving better coordination. From the investigated test systems, the frequency performance of wind power system can be increased by applying the proposed method. It is noticeable that by applying coordinated controller between blade pitch angle controller and battery energy storage using firefly algorithm the overshoot of the frequency can be reduced up to -0.2141 pu and accelerate the settling time up to 40.14 second.
Design of Naca63215 Airfoil for a Wind TurbineIOSR Journals
The ultimate objective of the work is to increase the reliability of wind turbine blades through the development of the airfoil structure and also to reduce the noise produced during the running period of the wind turbine blades. The blade plays a pivotal role, because it is the most important part of the energy absorption system. Consequently, the blade has to be designed carefully to enable to absorb energy with its greatest efficiency. In this work, Pro/E, Hypermesh software has been used to design blades effectively. NACA 63-215 airfoil profile is considered for analysis of wind turbine blade. The wind turbine blade is modeled and several sections are created from root to tip with the variation from the standard design for improving the efficiency. For the further improvement required in the efficiency of the wind turbine the winglet is to be included at the tip of the blade which would help in increasing the efficiency and reducing the noise produced from the blades in working condition. The existing turbine blade and the modified blade with the winglet are compared for their results.

Design and Analysis of Artificial Intelligence Based Approach for Control of ...ijtsrd
Renewable Energy Sources are those energy sources which are not destroyed when their energy is harnessed. The model of wind turbine is based on the steady state power characteristics of the turbine. The stiffness of the drive train is infinite and the friction factor and the inertia of the turbine must be combined with those of the generator coupled to the turbine. In this paper, variable speed wind turbine driving permanent magnet synchronous generator with current controlled voltage source inverter has been proposed. Detailed modeling and control strategies of the overall system has been developed. It is found that under the proposed control strategy the system runs smoothly under randomly and quickly varying wind condition. During both symmetrical and unsymmetrical fault conditions, the system is found stable. Results shows that by using Current Source Inverter CSI stability of wind power can be achieved. By using CSI based Controller voltage source inverter or any separate storage energy system is not required. A model is used to determine the behavior of the wind turbine, induction generator and load. OFFSHORE WIND RESOURCE ASSESSMENT OFF THE SOUTH AFRICAN COASTLINEIAEME Publication
The world is undergoing a paradigm shift as more people are becoming aware of energy consumption patterns, reinforcing the need for developing cleaner and more sustainable ways to generate electrical energy. Globally, the development of onshore wind farms is sometimes impeded by factors such as aesthetic impact, acceptance by the public, the threats to surrounding biodiversity, noise from the power plant and possible land use conflicts. Due to these concerns, offshore wind plants have been developed. Offshore wind energy is generally greater in comparison to that of onshore wind energy because the wind speeds offshore are generally higher and more constant with fewer obstructions to the wind resource. The offshore wind potential for South African coastal regions was investigated and analysed in this study. Various factors such as shipping routes, oil and gas exploration fields and possible transmission connection points were taken into consideration before selecting four data collection sites. The predominant wind direction, mean wind speed, wind shear and spatial geographic information was analysed for each site. The sites’ wind direction did not have any similarities, with each site having its own prevailing wind directions. Within the 50 m hub height, Site 2 showed the best potential based on the power density. Site 1 and Site 3 showed similar power densities to each other with Site 4 showing the lowest power density. The distance to shore ranged from 200 km to 500 km with a steep continental shelf drop to a depth of approximately 3 000 m. The study conducted shows that there is offshore wind potential off the coast of South Africa. BROAD UNEXPOSED SKILLS OF TRANSGENDER ENTREPRENEURSIAEME Publication
Since ages gender difference is always a debatable theme whether caused by nature, evolution or environment. The birth of a transgender is dreadful not only for the child but also for their parents. The pain of living in the wrong physique and treated as second class victimized citizen is outrageous and fully harboured with vicious baseless negative scruples. For so long, social exclusion had perpetuated inequality and deprivation experiencing ingrained malign stigma and besieged victims of crime or violence across their life spans. They are pushed into the murky way of life with a source of eternal disgust, bereft sexual potency and perennial fear. Although they are highly visible but very little is known about them. The common public needs to comprehend the ravaged arrogance on these insensitive souls and assist in integrating them into the mainstream by offering equal opportunity, treat with humanity and respect their dignity. Entrepreneurship in the current age is endorsing the gender fairness movement. Unstable careers and economic inadequacy had inclined one of the gender variant people called Transgender to become entrepreneurs. These tiny budding entrepreneurs resulted in economic transition by means of employment, free from the clutches of stereotype jobs, raised standard of living and handful of financial empowerment. Besides all these inhibitions, they were able to witness a platform for skill set development that ignited them to enter into entrepreneurial domain. This paper epitomizes skill sets involved in trans-entrepreneurs of Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation of Tamil Nadu State and is a groundbreaking determination to sightsee various skills incorporated and the impact on entrepreneurship.

Living in 21st century in itself reminds all of us the necessity of police and its administration. As more and more we are entering into the modern society and culture, the more we require the services of the so called ‘Khaki Worthy’ men i.e., the police personnel. Whether we talk of Indian police or the other nation’s police, they all have the same recognition as they have in India. But as already mentioned, their services and requirements are different after the like 26th November, 2008 incidents, where they without saving their own lives has sacrificed themselves without any hitch and without caring about their respective family members and wards. In other words, they are like our heroes and mentors who can guide us from the darkness of fear, militancy, corruption and other dark sides of life and so on. Now the question arises, if Gandhi would have been alive today, what would have been his reaction/opinion to the police and its functioning? Would he have some thing different in his mind now what he had been in his mind before the partition or would he be going to start some Satyagraha in the form of some improvement in the functioning of the police administration? Really these questions or rather night mares can come to any one’s mind, when there is too much confusion is prevailing in our minds, when there is too much corruption in the society and when the polices working is also in the questioning because of one or the other case throughout the India. It is matter of great concern that we have to thing over our administration and our practical approach because the police personals are also like us, they are part and parcel of our society and among one of us, so why we all are pin pointing towards them.

ROLE OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT OF INDIA - PROBLEMS AND ...IAEME Publication
The majority of the population in India lives in villages. The village is the back bone of the country. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Developing the rural economy is one of the key indicators towards a country’s success. Whether it be the need to look after the welfare of the farmers or invest in rural infrastructure, Governments have to ensure that rural development isn’t compromised. The economic development of our country largely depends on the progress of rural areas and the standard of living of rural masses. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Rural entrepreneurship is based on stimulating local entrepreneurial talent and the subsequent growth of indigenous enterprises. It recognizes opportunity in the rural areas and accelerates a unique blend of resources either inside or outside of agriculture. Rural entrepreneurship brings an economic value to the rural sector by creating new methods of production, new markets, new products and generate employment opportunities thereby ensuring continuous rural development. Social Entrepreneurship has the direct and primary objective of serving the society along with the earning profits. So, social entrepreneurship is different from the economic entrepreneurship as its basic objective is not to earn profits but for providing innovative solutions to meet the society needs which are not taken care by majority of the entrepreneurs as they are in the business for profit making as a sole objective. So, the Social Entrepreneurs have the huge growth potential particularly in the developing countries like India where we have huge societal disparities in terms of the financial positions of the population. Still 22 percent of the Indian population is below the poverty line and also there is disparity among the rural & urban population in terms of families living under BPL. 25.7 percent of the rural population & 13.7 percent of the urban population is under BPL which clearly shows the disparity of the poor people in the rural and urban areas. The need to develop social entrepreneurship in agriculture is dictated by a large number of social problems. Such problems include low living standards, unemployment, and social tension. The reasons that led to the emergence of the practice of social entrepreneurship are the above factors. The research problem lays upon disclosing the importance of role of social entrepreneurship in rural development of India. The paper the tendencies of social entrepreneurship in India, to present successful examples of such business for providing recommendations how to improve situation in rural areas in terms of social entrepreneurship development. Indian government has made some steps towards development of social enterprises, social entrepreneurship, and social in- novation, but a lot remains to be improved.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat.
