Interracial Marriage Interracial marriage is a form of exogamy when two spouses that belong to
different races or even on the occasion of same sex couples. Interracial marriage became legal in all
of the U.S states in 1967. The Supreme Court decision that deemed anti miscegenation laws
unconstitutional, with many states choosing to legalize interracial marriage at much earlier dates.
Many jurisdictions have had regulations banning or restricting not just interracial marriage but also
interracial sexual relations. The United States has plenty of different racial and ethnic groups, and
is now mostly common. Mostly in the South is where you will find the most problems with it. If

A few cons are the children may get treated differently at school at a young age, the child could
come out looking like more of one of the parents than the other. You will have to explain raceto
your child before the world starts to question them. But at some point the child may be identified
with one race over the other, they may relate to one group over another due to common interests, or
the fact that one group is nicer to them than the another. But however there re pros about having a
biracial child. Having a biracial child gives them the background of two or more cultural
backgrounds. They can understand and relate better to other biracial

Different Paths a Person Can Take in Harry Potter by J.K....
There are always different paths that a person can take, some too many to count and other just
two choices. These paths decide and make us into who we are and who we will become. This
difference is used in many works of art to express a meaning or a point. One of the best examples
would the the Harry Potter novel series by J. K. Rowling. The Hero, Harry potterhimself, and the
Shadow or villain, Voldemort or Tom Riddle. They are similar by their blood statue, and
treatment at the hands of muggles, and how people are drawn to them. But they differ by their
morals and view towards muggles, and have a difference of people close to them. The two of
them were both used as polar opposites, led of the same start. They are born from different... Show

But they hold different feelings about it. Voldemort hates them to the core, sees them as bugs,
and wants to rid the world of them or use them as slaves. But Harry sees them as people, some
are bad and awful but that is no reason to kill them. He even saves his family the Dursleys when
he could have left them to die. The orphanage of Tom s was much alike to the house of the
Dursleys. Children hated and bullied them, the adults neglected and took away natural rights, the
living conditions were horrible lacking, the food was sparse. The only real difference was the
Voldemort was raised in World War II and that he had no blood relation to the others there.
Neither of them had any idea of what their family roots were. Its because of this treatment from
the muggles that they formed into whom they were. They Cupboard under the stairs let to Harry
being great at sneaking about and to being rather submissive to authority and peer pressure. Tom
fought and ruled against those in the orphanage, creating an sadistic authoritarian outlook on life.
Harry is forgiving of them and will go beyond to not hate them, or anyone really. But Voldemort
will kill them on site, just because its like squishing another bug. Later on in the books it seems
that is sociopathic and psychopathic mind has warped enough that he feels that way about

Fire Safety Engineering Technology Degree
As a kid I looked up to my twin brothers, Sandy and Randy, who were 19 years older than me.
When I was around 13 years old, I started tagging along with my brother, Sandy, who was a
volunteer firefighter. I loved running calls with Sandy, and knew that I would be a firefighter
when I grew up. I will never forget the time I went to a house fire with my brother. It was like
yesterday. The fire pager went off. Sandy turned on his red light, and we took off in his truck.
Before I knew it, we pulled up to a house with fire shooting out the first floor window, and Sandy
went to work as a firefighter. That was it. From that point on, I knew I would be a firefighter.
As a student in middle and high school, I struggled with ADHD. Those struggles made me doubt
myself when it came to academics. After trying for four years, I finally became a Charlotte
Firefighter when I was 22 years old and recently engaged to my fiance. I knew that this was my
chosen profession, but I also realized that to advance in it, I would have to face my academic fears.
What makes the man I am today ready for the academic challenges I so struggled with as a kid?

The Potter Box Model Of Ethical Reasoning
While the journalism profession might appear to be as straightforward as black and white, there are
a handful of grey areas that raise ethical concerns. These areas can range from something as simple
as the correct attribution of information, to as complex as the controversial practice of native
advertisements. Journalists, however, have access to an abundance of resources, including multiple
sets of guidelines, which can help them make a difficult decision about an ethical dilemma.
Whether they are filing stories or creating media campaigns, journalists should consult these codes
of ethicsto ensure that they are fulfilling their responsibility as watchdogs of society. Some of the
more commonly referred to guidelines include the Bok Model... Show more content on

The animal rights organization should seek different ways to convey their message to the public.
Advocacy groups may not be associated directly with the journalism and media industries, yet it
should still consult with ethical guidelines pertaining to media related projects. By taking a
moment to step back from the campaign and view it from the perspective of the community, as
suggested in the Bok Model, PETA would have identified the contentious nature of the images. The
Potter Box model would also have been helpful for PETA, considering that it helps organizations
break down an issue by identifying facts, values, principles, and loyalties. While this campaign has
been banned in Germany and remains detested in other parts of the world, the animal rights
organization is not affected. It continues to move forward with controversial media campaigns such
as its Go Veg movement that compared women to meat and its advertisement featuring Joanna
Krupa modeling nude with a crucifix, which received significant objection from the Catholic
Church. Since advocacy organizations such as PETA are not legally bound to ethical guidelines,
they are not pressured to abide by existing ones. However, if there was significant public support,
advocacy organizations could be subject to adhering to ethical codes that would force them to
consider the potential

The Great Historians Missionary That I Just Wanted For...
As I started my research I found so many great historians missionary that I just wanted to share
their missions. February 1, 1823, Betsey Stockton, a young black woman in company with 13
white missionaries, was on board a ship rounding the southern tip of South America. The
missionaries were on their way to the Sandwich Islands (present day Hawaii). They had left New
Haven, Connecticut in November, sent out by the American Board of Commissioners of
Foreign Missions, an agency at the forefront of American Protestantism s burgeoning interest in
foreign missions. Betsey Stockton was in the second group of missionaries to go to Hawaii, the
first having arrived two years before. Besides Stockton, there were six couples and a single man,
plus three Hawaiian men and a Tahitian. The trip took five months by sea with no stopovers.
Like others on board, Stockton kept a journal of the voyage and of her first couple of months in
Hawaii. She had joined the company partly as a missionary and partly as a servant to one of the
couples, Rev. and Mrs. Charles S. Stewart, who were expecting a child. However, Betsey s
contract with the American Board did make clear that she was not to be simply a servant but was
also to share in the mission s primary work. February 2, 1911, during a morning devotional hour
at Central Texas College in Waco, a teacher, Eliza George, has a vision of black Africans passing

The Global Bearing Market For Automotive Bearings
1.Introduction
In 2014, the global bearing market had a value of 75.91 billion dollars with a Compound Annual
Grade Rate (CAGR) of 7.7% from the year of 2014 to 2020. The bearing market is mainly driven
by automotive industry, meaning that if there is an increase of demand of vehicles, it will lead to
an increase of bearings and steel (material used to manufacture the bearings) (PR Newswire, 2014).
In March 2014, the European Commission found irregularities in the market for automotive
bearings. These irregularities consisted of six companies that operated as a cartel for seven years
(April 2004 July 2011) in the European Economic Area. Therefore, the European Commission
penalized the participant companies by imposing fines of € 953,306,000 in total and also
provided an opportunity for reduction when the involved companies agreed to clear up the case
with the Commission. The involved companies were: the Europeans SKF and Schaeffler and the
Japanese JTEKT, NSK, NFC, and NTN (European Commission, 2014).
This paper presents a description of market structure in which the bearing companies operate in
Europe, possible environment that led to collusive behavior, incentives for companies that led them
to participate in cartel and resulting welfare from it. Moreover, the paper also presents an
assessment of Government intervention with costs and benefits analysis and its effects to all
stakeholders. Through this assessment, an argument is carried out on the appropriateness of

Policy is best defined as a statement by the government of what it intends to do such as law,
regulation, or decision about a specific problem (Birkland, 2016). This definition about policy
seems to say, that a policy tries to combat or resolve an underlining problem that a community, or
a certain section of a community is dealing with at the current moment, with legislation. This is an
important aspect of our country because it allows for better results when something goes wrong,
in that the policy makers realize that something is not working, and would create policy in order
to correct the problem. A problem also has a unique definition, when it comes to policy. A problem
is defined as a usually undesirable situation that according to people or interest groups that can be
alleviated by government action (Birkland, 2016). The definition of a problem seems to suggest
that the policy makers and the government taking the necessary measures in order to solve the
problem can mitigate any problem. In this country s history, there have been many problems that
the government tried to resolve with many degrees of success. The Dream act was another case of a
major problem seen by many, which need to be resolved with quick government action. After
defining what a policy is, and what a problem is in a general sense, we now need to look at what
problem the Dream Act, is trying to resolve in the first place. The main objective of the

Baroque Vs. Baroque Renaissance
The style that followed the Renaissance is usually called Baroque . But, while it is easy to identify
the earlier style by definite marks of recognition, this is not so simple in the case of Baroque.
Baroque is considered to be one of the great periods of art history , and it is generally identified as
being developed by Caravaggio, Gianlorenzo Bernini and Annibale Carracci. The Baroqueperiod
developed in Europe in around 1600, and it can be seen partly as a reaction against the intricate
and formulaic Mannerism that dominated the Late Renaissance. Nevertheless, to see Baroque as
simply being a reaction against Renaissance ideals and norms is simplistic. Modern scholarship has
identified within the Baroque clear signs of a return to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By synthesising these elements, I will establish how the Baroque can be distinguished from its
precursors.
The term Baroque , like many period designations, is not a complementary one. It had the
connotation of meaning bizarre taste that does not follow the rules of the classical. This provides
one basic definition of the Baroque; its contrast to classicism, despite the fact that Baroque was a
reaction to, and an adaption of, the classical tradition. The word Baroque was a term employed by
critics of a later period who fought against the tendencies of the seventeenth century, and wanted to
hold them up to ridicule. Baroque really means... grotesque, and it was used by men who insisted
that the forms of classical building should never have been used or combined except in the ways
adopted by the Greeks and Romans...
After the idealism of the Renaissance, and the slightly forced nature of Mannerism, Baroque above
all reflected the religious tensions of the age notably the desire of the Catholic Church in Rome (as
annunciated at the Council of Trent) to reassert itself in the wake of the Protestant Reformation.
Thus, Baroque art became synonymous with the Catholic Counter Reformation. Baroque art in
Catholic nations reflected the desire of Emperors and monarchs to strengthen their political position
and glorify their own divine grandeur. By comparison, Baroque art in

Wireless Communication Essay
Telecommunication occurs when the exchange of information between two or more entities
(communication) includes the use of technology. Communication technology uses channels to
transmit information (as electrical signals), either over a physical medium (such as signal cables),
or in the form of electromagnetic waves.[1][2][3][4][5][6] The word is often used in its plural form,
telecommunications, because it involves many different technologies. Early means of
communicating over a distance included visual signals, such as beacons, smoke signals, semaphore
telegraphs, signal flags, and optical heliographs.[7] Other examples of pre modern long distance
communication included audio messages such as coded drumbeats, lung blown horns, and loud
whistles. Modern technologies for long distance communication usually involve electrical and
electromagnetic technologies, such as telegraph, telephone, and teleprinter, networks, radio,
microwave transmission, fiber optics, and communications satellites. A revolution in wireless
communication began in the first decade of the 20th century with the pioneering developments in
radio communications by Guglielmo Marconi, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1909. Other
highly notable pioneering inventors and developers in the field of electrical and electronic
telecommunications include Charles Wheatstone and Samuel Morse (telegraph), Alexander
Graham Bell (telephone), Edwin Armstrong, and Lee de Forest (radio), as well as John Logie

Early Adult Years: Antonio Vivaldi was made a priest in 1703. But, according to him, a year
later after becoming a priest, he no longer wanted to celebrate Mass due to complaints like
tightness of chest . This may have been genuine or fake. It may have been genuine, in which case,
the illness was probably asthma. It may have been faked due to his greater love of music, so he
could spend more time writing it and jotting ideas down instead of celebrating mass. Anyways,

After 3 years in Rome, Vivaldi returned to Venice in 1725, where he produced more operas in the
very same year.
Vivaldi also managed to squeeze in The Four Seasons in that epic year too. They were the first
four in a collection of twelve with a long name for another Opus, Opus 8. (Man he s written a lot
of Opuses).
Late Adult Years: During his career height, Vivaldi was asked by many royalties and noblemen to
play for them. He played for some weddings and wrote another Opus, Opus 9.
Emperor Charles the Sixth adored Vivaldi s music, and he knighted him and gave him a gold
medal, and an invitation to Vienna to work for him. In turn, Vivaldi wrote some good music for
Charles the Sixth.
Vivaldi s life ended in financial difficulties, for Vivaldi left Venice. He went to Vienna to perform
and work for Charles the Sixth, who unfortunately died shortly after Vivaldi arrived. This tragedy
put Vivaldi in a sticky situation. He no longer had Royal protection and money and income, aka. No
job.
Death: It is perhaps not very surprising that Vivaldi died soon after Charles, a year later, on the
27th of July, 1741. On July 28 he was buried in a simple grave. His funeral also took place shortly
after his death.
Although Vivaldi has died long ago, he has not been forgotten. There are monuments and
memorial plaques at his last resting place and his last dwelling place in Vienna. His works are still
remembered, 268 years after he

The Freedom Riders Essay
Nearly 200 years ago, after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, slavery was no longer
allowed; but America was still segregated. Segregation in many public places continued especially
in the South. At this time, segregation was legal. In 1892, the Supreme Court had ruled that a state
could separate whites and blacks as long as the services were equal. On May 4, 1961, a diverse
group of thirteen courageous individuals known as the Freedom Riders embarked on a bus journey
into the South in order to challenge segregation in bus terminals. Although many individuals
believed that segregation was wrong, many southern states continued to practice racial segregation.

refusing to give up her seat and go to the back of the bus (Rosa Parks Biography). Although there

segregation on buses was unconstitutional, blacks continued to face difficulties when riding buses

HP is developing its new generation network printer while it has been struggling from 3 main

Consequently, it reduces inventory buildup issue. Flexible to respond to customer order so that HP
can increase service level.
3. How would such costs and benefits be different over the product life cycle?
Over the product life cycle, both cost and benefit are different. At the beginning life cycle (ramp
up) of product, the cost of stock out would be high because for every order lost would not only
result in lost in revenue but also future revenue. The theory is the customers tend to buy similar
product and/or brand to keep consistency. In addition, it takes over four life cycle of product
before that customer returns to HP. At the maturity stage, the extra cost, although very small, can
be a real disadvantage because during this period, the market becomes very competitive and many
players enter the same field causing price to drop. Customers also become more price sensitive.
However, the benefit of better forecasting demands significantly helps lower the level of inventory.
At the ending life cycle, cost of stockouts is lower than compared to at beginning because there is
less fear of losing future sale.
4. Besides deciding on a universal power supply, what other operational improvements can you
suggest to HP Boise?
One of the suggestions HP should consider is improving forecasting ability to ensure appropriate
demand is met in all sector while optimizing inventory level. In addition, HP

These claims on banks can act as money because they are negotiable or repayable on demand, and
hence valued at par. They are effectively transferable by mere delivery, in the case of banknotes, or
by drawing a cheque that the payee may bank or cash. 2. Netting and settlement of payments banks
act as both collection and paying agents for customers, participating in interbank clearing and
settlement systems to collect, present, be presented with, and pay payment instruments. This
enables banks to economies on reserves held for settlement of payments, since inward and outward
payments offset each other. It also enables the offsetting of payment flows between geographical
areas, reducing the cost of settlement between them. 3. Credit intermediation banks borrow and
lend back to back on their own account as middle men. 4. Credit quality improvement banks lend
money to ordinary commercial and personal borrowers (ordinary credit quality), but are high
quality borrowers. The improvement comes from diversification of the bank s assets and capital
which provides a buffer to absorb losses without defaulting on its obligations. However, banknotes
and deposits are generally unsecured; if the bank gets into difficulty and pledges assets as security,
to raise the funding it needs to continue to operate, this puts the note holders and depositors in an
economically subordinated position.

The Use of Manipulation; One Flew over the Cuckoo s Nest
The Use of Manipulation: One Flew over the Cuckoo s Nest
Throughout Ken Kesey s novel, One Flew over the Cuckoo s Nest, the use of manipulation is a re
occurring motif. Manipulation is defined as shrewd of devious management. Manipulation is put
into context by how the character s use it. The first character to master it is the antagonist Nurse
Ratchet. She uses it to manipulate patients to manage her mechanically structured ward. The other
character is the (antagonist, protagonist?) patient McMurphy. He on the other hand manipulates
people to help them grow or gain money. These two characters also go head to head with the power
of deceptive manipulation as their weapons.

If someone hears something interesting about another patient in the log book, the patient puts
down what he heard and signs his name, and the next day he gets to sleep in. The effectiveness
of the log book is evident here, through this passage, Am I to take it that there s not a man
among you that has committed some act that he has never admitted? She reached in the basket
for the log book. Must we go over the past history? That triggered something, some acoustic
device in the walls, rigged to turn on at just the sound of those words coming from her mouth.
The acutes stiffened. Their mouths opened in unison. Her sweeping eyes stopped on the first
man along the wall. His mouth worked, I robbed a cash register in a service station. She moved

America s National Pastime Of Baseball Essay
ssociation was born
Introduction
Since its grand entry in the 19th century, baseball has evolved to be one of the most popular sport
nationally and to be known as America s national pastime. This multibillion dollar industry attracts
millions of fans worldwide throughout different regions. The origin of baseball is believed to have
evolved from a ball and bat game called Seker Hemant played by ancient Egyptians dating as far
back as 2,500 BCE. Fast forwarding time, modern day baseball began with the formation of the
Cincinnati Red Socks in 1869 following with the establishment of the National League in 1876 and
later the American Association in 1901. (Auerbach, 2016) It wasn t until 1903 the Major League
Baseball (MLB) was born. Baseball was seen as a recreational activity that differentiated between
cities due to different versions and rules of the game, baseball did not strike its popularity until the
Civil war, documentation shows high interest in this particular sport during this time period.
The Major League today consists of 30 teams that represent cities throughout the United States and
Canada. In the early years of the MLB was most known for its baseball wars, legal disputes,
bidding of players, threats between leagues and broken contracts. Throughout the years baseball has
been associated with union avoidance and hostility over pay establishments, benefits and work
rules. (Auerbach, 2016) Players have been subject to a restrictive system through which a player

College Campus Security Issues
As you well know, the safety and security of students on campus is a major concern for universities
and colleges nationwide. However, crime in urban areas, such New Brunswick and the campuses
surrounding the city, have reached an all time high in recent years. This is distressing because it
directly affects the Rutgers community. I have reviewed the 2016 Rutgers crimelogs issued by your
police department and I have observed that a substantial amount of crime, primarily assault and
theft, have occurred in university parking lots and decks. Approximately ten criminal incidents
occurred in Rutgers Parking lots in August and September 2016 alone. You are well aware of the

Some parking lots on campus, primarily staff parking lots, have access controls in which the
staff member must swipe a key card to gain entrance. The parking lots I would like to focus on
are Lot 30 on College Avenue, The College Avenue Parking Deck, and the Douglass Parking Deck.
Access control will increase safety these university parking facilities. In the decks, a security booth,
such as the Par Kut booth or Portafab Guard Booths, will be installed to monitor who comes in and
out of the parking lots. A security guard, stationed in each booth, will double check that the
individuals entering the parking lot are only students, faculty, or authorized visitors. Attached or
next to the booth will be a gate arm. Students who have registered their cars to that specific
parking lot or garage will be able to swipe their Rutgers University Identification card. This will
trigger the gate arm to life and allow them entrance to the parking lot or garage. As a result,
students who park in these facilities would not have to pay for parking passes and employment
opportunities would open for security booth personnel as well as guards. Under this project,
there will be a heightened presence of of security guards on bikes and T3 s in Lot 30 and both
decks, particularly at night. There will also be an increased presence of more maintenance workers,
who will help keep Rutgers parking facilities

Between 1754 and 1779, he was a trustee of the city of Alexandria, Virginia. In 1759 he was
elected to the Virginia House of Burgesses. Mason served at the Virginia Convention in
Williamsburg in 1776. During this time he created drafts of the first declaration of rights and state
constitution in the Colonies. Both were adopted after committee alterations; the Virginia
Declaration of Rights was adopted June 12, 1776, and the Virginia Constitution was adopted June
29, 1776. Article 1 of the Virginia Declaration of Rights a statement later made internationally

The Embarrassing Moment Of A Friend Of Mine
I remember the embarrassing moment a friend of mine went through in class a few years ago,
when she had organized some chronological images on the wall. The instructor completely tore
her work apart because of her way of organization. Now in the world of design, most teachers get
very upset when the work is hung crocked on the wall. But this was not the case with my friend.
Her work was simply torn apart because of the direction she hung her pictures. Now most people
in class, including the teacher and even herself weren t aware of the fact that she simply did that
because she came from a middle eastern country where everything is organized from right to left.
But I was well familiar with this problem. In fact, I grew up learning three languages at the same
time in school. At age seven, I was learning to read and write in Persian, Assyrian, and English. In
the beginning, it would take me a minute to remember which way to start from when writing an
essay. For those of you who might not be familiar with these languages, Persian and Assyrian start
from the right side of the line moving to the left and eventually to the bottom of the page. The
numeric characters however, start from the left, and so does English. All these rights and lefts
confused me very much, and yet, when I found out that some Asian languages had a top to bottom
directionality, my mind was blown away. These conflicts made me start thinking about how the
world might seem different to an English speaker than

Evaluation Of A Research Project
6.1 Introduction and overview
This section describes the methodology used for the research. It considers first the philosophical
position agreed for the research, then the methodology involved in the research. In this case, the
research was made up of a focus group, using a sample of young people and adults with LDD and
a small number of parents and carers who completed questionnaires. The methods of data analysis
were then documented, and the final section reflects on issues of validity and reliability.
6.2 Philosophical position
It is understood that all research is centred on the researchers motivating philosophical assumptions.

Furthermore, these worldviews and philosophical assumptions are what researchers have endorsed
to carry out their research along with their chosen methodologies for the expansion of gathering
new knowledge in a given study (Frels and Onwuegbuzie, 2016). Therefore, to conduct and evaluate
any research, it is important for that reason to know what these assumptions are.
6.3 Epistemology foundationalism
It is explained that Epistemology is a term that describes the nature of knowledge and the means
of knowing; how we know what we know or what we conceive as a truth (Kuada, 2012, p.59) and
the way knowledge is created and constructed or revealed and fixed (Wisker, 2011).
Epistemology also provides a philosophical background for deciding what kinds of knowledge are
legitimate and adequate, which helps with the most novice of researchers who quickly select a data
gathering method as they are keen to get on with the job (Gray, 2011).
Positivism is seen as being concerned with gathering facts about a reality that is seen as real
(Silverman, 2006) in order to explain human behaviour (Bryman and Bell, 2011). In opposition to
this is interpretivism that seeks to understand human behaviour (Maylor and Blackman, 2005),

are multiple realities, Berger and Luckman

reformer and the founder of modern nursing. By examining Nightingales life, it is easy to see how
she dramatically redesigned the medical administration of Europe and became the face of modern
nursing. This paper will examine Nightingales major achievements, the influence she had in the

The break out of the Crimean Warand the Battle of Alma, led to the complete breakdown of

by the end of her stay in Scutari, she had completely transformed the system in which the hospitals

hygiene and ventilation of the hospitals and fixing administrative issues, the hospitals now ran
smoothly and mortality was down from 42% to 22% (Strachey, 120). Nightingales work did not go

Kehliy (2009) suggests children have four basics needs; the need for love and security, new
experiences, praise and recognition and responsibility. Children have the potential to develop to
their full capacity with these needs met. Maslov in his hierarchy of needs highlighted that
children need their basic needs met before they can develop onto the next stage. He proposed five
key levels; physiology, safety, belongingness, esteem and self actualisation. Each level needs to be
fulfilled to process to the next. With this in mind Maslov s theory suggests that children and adults
cannot reach their full potential unless there needs are met. This theory is strongly represented
within the social services sector and within the care sector (Green, 2009). Smidt (2006)
highlighted that the way in which childhood is perceived changes overtime; adults construct an
image of what childhood should be. The images of childhood and the way children are perceived
are influenced by economics, politics, religion and class. This is evident within theorists differing
views of children and their theories and helps us to understand why these differ. Smidt (2006)
suggested all areas of development are strongly interrelated thus a delay in language development,
for example, can hinder the child s social or emotional development. For children to understand
emotions they need to discuss their feelings, so require the social interaction and language to
discuss this.

Public intervention in the form of subsidy is usually justified on the grounds (1) that culture
possesses inherent values, of life enhancement, which are fundamentally opposed to and in danger
of being damaged by commercial forces; (2) that the need for these values is universal, regardless
of class, gender, and ethnic origin; and (3) that the market cannot satisfy this need.
The creative artist occupies a central place in this ideology. This person s aspirations and values
stemming from unfathomable sources of genius, inspiration, or talent are the source of cultural
value. However, situating the arts at the center of the cultural universe no longer means showering
them with money, but we should define the policy problem as one of finding audiences for their

public intervention in the cultural sphere is marginalized, making it purely reactive to the process

Financial Statements Of The State Of California
The financial statements of the State of California convey valuable information to outside users
about the State s fiscal position and how it utilizes financial resources. The objective of this essay is
to identify five things that I can ascertain about the State of California from these financial
statements.
One thing you can learn from the financial statements is how many legally separate entities the
State of California is financially accountable for. The governmental accounting term for these
entities is called component units, and when they are presented separately from the primary
governmental funds, they are discretely presented as if they are a separate fund of the primary
government. Component units that are not discretely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While it is unfair to compare the magnitudes of these numbers without providing scale, it does
speak to the differences in scale between California and Ohio. For Ohio, OSU represents just
39.11% of total expenses and 19.70% of total net expense for component units. More information
can be found about both Universities in their respective state s Discretely Presented Component
Units Financial Statements section.
To find information on the blended component units, you must review the component units section
of the Overview of the Financial Statements (Government wide Financial Statements). The blended
component units include the California Public Employees Retirement System and the California
State Teachers Retirement System as well as other Fiduciary component units. Since these units are
blended into the primary government s financial statements, it is harder to dissect any pertinent
information from them. This represents one thing you can learn about from a government s
financial statements: how many component units it has and particular figures for any discretely
presented component units.
The next thing you can learn from a government s financial statements is about its infrastructure.
Typically states elect to use the modified approach for capitalizing infrastructure. Under this
approach, the

Disadvantages Of Geothermal Energy
Introduction
Over the past several years the realization of a limited amount of renewable resources has pushed
for a more environmentally friendly form of utilities. This realization has shifted the mindset of the
consumer to prefer a more green and economical utility free home using sustainable energy sources.
The scientists at Whole Life Energy are analyzing the use of geothermal energy to meet the
requirements of our consumers and environment. This report covers what geothermal energy is,
different types of geothermal energy, and geothermal energy advantages.
What is Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy is the routing of liquid filled tubing underneath the Earth s surface to absorb heat
. A small pump is used to circulate the liquid, so the heat can be extracted in the home or
business. The earth absorbs and stores about half the suns energy. Due to this massive absorption,
the earth maintains a fairly constant temperature of 45 70 degrees Fahrenheit at a depth of 6 feet
(Rinkesh, 2017). This constant temperature will allow our company to tap into a never ending
supply of heat production. Depending on the size of facility needing heating will determine the
depth of the tubing required to draw the appropriate energy. The EPA states, farther below the
surface, the temperature increases at an average rate of approximately 1В°F for every 70 feet in
depth (Renewable Heating and Cooling, 2016). This flexibility allows us the ability to customize
the conditioning

The Importance Of Intelligent Design
Many students if you ask them what intelligent design is the most likely answer will be they do
not know. That is why intelligent design should be taught in schools. If we have to take science
classes then we should have choice to learn about the meaning in intelligent design. Looking at a
different point of view so we can chose in what to believe in. Intelligent designshould be considered
as a curriculum. Intelligent design does not necessarily have to involve religion. It just means that
an intelligent person created things. Therefore, ID should be taught in schools so the student can
have another aspect and not just learn about evolution, so the students can have freedom of speech,
and the students will develop critical thinking skills. By having another aspect to think about can
make a student see other theories as well. Evolution should not be the only thing getting credit
for the way life is. Intelligent design can also explain the existence of how things are created if
we actually think about it. I personally do not agree with the teaching of evolution to students. For
example, I do not believe that we evolved from apes or monkeys. If that was the case, why is there
still apes in the world if they evolved into human. If we actually think about it evolution was
mentioned from a man s theory. Why not believe what the bible says too just because we know a

you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do.
(Lee 149). True bravery is when you re aware that the odds are against you, however, you have the
ability to persevere through it. Even though you don t want to complete the task ahead of you, an
inner force brings you the motivation to do it. Sincere courageousness doesn t always entail
violence; in fact, courage comes from the choices made within that affect yourself or those around
you. The outcome may not always be to your advantage, but... Show more content on

Atticus wants Scout to be less hot headed and more diplomatic. Her first instinct when placed in
a situation where she has the disadvantage is to beat that person up. Atticus wants to teach Scout
to deal with harsh, rude remarks calmly so they don t boil up inside her. He wants her to learn to
work out problems nicely because she has a logical mind if she would use it correctly. She
rebels against what she s taught when she s thinking too quickly but if she took time to sort
things out, a peaceful solution could be reached. Cecil Jacobs, a boy at Scout s school,
announced that Scout s father defended n s and was a disgrace. Scout was infuriated by the way
he said it. She was ready to defend herself and Atticus with her fists but decided against it and
walked away. She listened to Atticus s advice because she didn t want to let him down. Even
though she was called a coward, she retained her dignity through Atticus s approval. In general,
anyone who has to deal with a bully shouldn t fight fire with fire. Retaliation and physical fights
are not the answer. Maintain pride in yourself and your beliefs. Don t stoop so low as to want to
hurt someone. As an alternative, find a solution that will make sure that problem isn t aroused
again. Simply because we were licked a hundred years before we started is no reason for us not to
try to win. (Lee 101). Even if history had its rough patches, there is still a

Polygraphs Are Better Than Lying
Polygraphs measure bodily functions in order to evaluate whether or not the subject is telling the
truth. It combines three readings to achieve results: heart/blood pressure, respiration, and skin
conductivity. The heart and blood pressure is measured with a blood pressure cuff around the wrist,
respiration is judged using pneumographs around the chest, and skin conductivity is found by
electrodes placed on the fingertips. The subject is then asked a series of preliminary questions to set
readings and ensure that the equipment is working. Once the polygraphis set up, the interviewer
begins one of the two primary types of polygraph tests.
The Control Question Test (CQT) is the more popular of the two. The interviewer will ask both

The Psychological Effects Of Smoking
One thing that smoking affects that a lot of people do not think about is how it affects the people
around the smoker, not only in a physical way but emotionally also. According to a study, kids
whose parents smoke are three times more likely to smoke when they get older. If smokers have
kids, smoking around them increases their risk of having ear infections, asthma and other breathing
problems that include coughs, shortness of breath, and even bronchitis. It s not just children that
are at risk of lung and heart problems, it s every person around a smoker that are put at risk due to
secondhand smoke. Secondhand smoke contains over 7,000 chemicals. Hundreds of them being
toxic and 70 have shown to cause cancerin humans. Breathing in secondhand smoke has been
shown to have instant effects on the cardiovascular system of nearby individuals, whether it s from
a neighbor s burning cigaretteor from a cigarette outside your window. Over time, it takes a toll
on people s lungs and has been found to increase the risk of having a stroke by 20 30%
(Quitterscircle). Smoking also has an impact on pets and animals. Exposure to secondhand smoke
for dogs increases the risk of them getting lung cancer and nasal cancer, especially long nosed
dogs like greyhounds. Cats that are exposed to secondhand smoke are more than three times as
likely to non Hodgkin s lymphoma. They may also suffer from asthma or lung cancer. Secondhand
smoke can also affect the eyesight of birds and cause respiratory

Car Warranty
If your car had a warranty when you purchased it, it probably gave you some peace of mind. The
warranty might have even helped encourage you to purchase the car that you chose. Therefore,
the last thing that you probably want is to find out that your warranty is not valid later on when
you need it. For example, some people end up voiding their car warranties without even realizing
it. These are a few tips that can help you avoid issues with your car s warranty, however.
1. Keep Up With Your Car s Maintenance Schedule
For one thing, your car should have a manufacturer specific car maintenance schedule that lists
when you are supposed to have certain maintenance tasks done, such as changing the oil or flushing
out the fluids and replacing them. Some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This might be required by your warranty. Plus, someone who has experience in working with your
type of car can be more likely to be competent and to do a great job with the maintenance and
repairs of your vehicle.
3. Make Sure You Use OEM Parts
Another thing that you might be required to do in order to maintain your car s warranty is to
replace any parts that are faulty with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts. Even though
you might sometimes be able to save some money by choosing aftermarket parts instead of OEM
parts, you ll probably find that it s not worth the potential cost savings when it could put you in
jeopardy of voiding your car s warranty.
Luckily, in most cases, it s not too difficult to maintain your car s warranty. If you follow these
tips, you shouldn t have anything to worry about. Of course, different car warranties do vary, so
if you have any specific questions about your vehicle, it s a good idea to check your warranty
information or to contact your dealer or a certified mechanic who has experience in working on
cars of your make and

Artemisia Gentileschi Influence
Known as one of the most famous female artists during the Baroque period, Artemisia Gentileschi
s artworks showcase powerful emotions and drama. She was the first woman to gain acceptance
into the Academy of the Arts of Drawing. In her later years, she was supported by Michelangelo
the Younger and the Grand Duke Cosimo Medici. Artemisia remains an inspiration because she
jumped several hurdles to gain recognition in a profession that was dominantly male at the time.
Artemisia was influenced by a variety of people. Her early on influence was her own father. During
her time, women were not allow to have apprenticeship with artists. Luckily, her father, Orazio
Gentileschi, was a painter himself so she was initially taught by him in his studio.

Comparing Tears In Heaven, Imaginary Heroes, And Still I Rise
My connections examined the different ways people choose to deal with the feeling of pain and
loss. My four texts are Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton, Imaginary Heroes directed by Dan Harris,
How We Survive written by Mark Rickerby, and Still I Rise written by Maya Angelou. Tears in
Heaven and Imaginary Heroes are similar to each other because they both explain how certain
people dealt with pain and the loss of a loved one. I noticed that Tears in Heavenshowed that one
can accept the loss, whereas in Imaginary Heroes we see the negative effects of not being able to
deal with grief. How We Survive and Still I Rise can be connected through the idea that human life
is precious, that we should savour life while it lasts. If we do not remain positive... Show more

As Mark Rickerby writes in his poem, How We Survive, If we are fortunate, we are given a
warning. If not, there is only the sudden horror, the wrench of being torn apart; of being
reminded that nothing is permanent, not even the ones we love, the ones our lives revolve
around. This tells its readers that no one will live forever, that we need to accept the fact that we
will lose the ones we love and possibly don t love, otherwise they will lose us first. Death is a
part of life, and although it is normal to grieve when we learn of someone s demise, to carrying on
grieving and to not jump into that black pit spiritually or physically, hoping to find them there. This
relates to the poem Still I Rise by Maya Angelou, because they both express how important it is to
no wallow in your sorrows because it will not help you recover. In the poem Still I Rise, it is
more about respect or racial acceptance, but overall it still expresses that we cannot back down or
give in. The writer of Still I Rise, Maya Angelou writes about how she will not be upset and give up
to the racial discrimination that has occurred for many years, even still happening today, against the
African American/African race.
In conclusion, we can see that people deal with pain and loss by their own choices.

significance of the scene in the back alley behind the cafГ© plays a central role in portraying this

Applying A Gender Based Violence Approach Essay
Applying a gender based violence approach, this paper will explore life realities for a Moroccan
women s center serving women from 18 to 70 years of age, mothers, educated or not, living in a
rural and urban environment and, for too many of them, their horrific predicaments. Primary
research methods will integrate participant observation and semi structured interviews (DeWalt and
DeWalt 2002) with females victims of gender based violence(GBV) and the center staff members.
This study aspires to determine what aspects lead Moroccan women to seek assistance, categories
of assistance available, challenges Moroccan women face and future opportunities for recognition
and socio legal support.
Results denote a lack of social support to women victim of violence, lack of social and economic
support for the center we will rest our research on, degraded service capacity, and the practice of
deceit in interactions between women and staff ingrained in a cultural notions of shame. Future
prospects for program development and sustainability will also be discussed. This ethnographic
proposition we will submit hopes to promote a richer understanding of gender based violence in
local contexts through the investigation of women victims experiences of gender based violence in
Moroccan society and how these dramatic encounters impact the reality and capabilities of social
service and legal provision.

Politics and Culture of Mexico SOC315: Cross Cultural Perspectives Instructor Theodore July 2,
2012 While politics in Mexico may one day be good for the people of Mexico, the current state
of the country is not so good. The poverty level of Mexico has always been high, the country is
known to be run by drugs and horrible, inhumane working conditions are common because of
outside business coming in and taking advantage of what people will do for little money in the

traffickers have by passed governments in power by far especially in Mexico even with all of
the programs that have been placed to try to dismantle drug cartels. The drug cartels and their
drug lord leaders have long since taken the road of violence to get what they want and to show
the government that they will stop at nothing to continue their business. This problem has
become a huge political problem for the U.S., Mexico and Columbia. The problem is most

The Impeachment Of A Foreclosure Sale
Harding further asks us to confirm that the trial judge complied with the requirements of Md. Rule
14 305(e) when she ratified the foreclosure sale. Furthermore, Harding petitions us to subpoena
certain phone calls made between her and M T Bank officials. Harding s requests, however, are not
properly presented before this appellate court. Moreover, Harding has failed to present an argument
that would overcome the presumption of legitimacy we afford to the ratification of a foreclosure

[t]he court shall ratify the sale if (1) the time for filing exceptions pursuant to section (d) of this

Loss Of Strength In Night By Elie Wiesel
After succeeding through hardships we gain the knowledge of our own strength. Although, I
believe strife, in ways, always succeeds as well, seeing that without the success of strife, our
strength teaches us nothing. We all would like to believe that strength always triumphs over strife,
but in reality we wouldn t gain that strength without the strife. In Elie Wiesels book, Night, he is
faced with many hardships. He is forced into concentration camps and treated inhumanely, and his
strength is constantly tested. Elie struggles with his mental, physical, and even spiritual health;
especially during his trip to the final concentration camp. Although Elie loses so much during the
holocaust, including his own family, he gains a dominating trait, strength.
Elie s family was taken away by SS Nazi soldiers on a cattle car train to Auschwitz concentration
camp. Immediately after arriving, all of the women, including Elie s mother and sisters, were
separated from the men. Luckily enough, Elie remained by his father s side, but to be in a place
that smells of burning flesh, and soldiers screaming abhorrent words towards Jews while holding
rifles, was traumatic for Elie. He had no knowledge of what was to happen to his own mother
and sisters, but had a precise vision as to their fate while at Auschwitz, the emotional strife was
already high and only just beginning for him. So after being separated, Elie is seen by Dr. Mengele,
survival kicks in for Elie and he lies to the Doctor

Martin Luther King Jr Day Analysis
It is interesting when we think about Martin Luther King Jr. Day. About the man behind the
holiday. He embodied values of service, courage, compassion, dignity, and humility during his
time as leader of the Civil rights movement. Martin Luther King Jr. in his life and in his
depiction in the movie Selma shows a man that believed that implementation of public policy
should not be decided by those in power when they felt like administering it, but to force the
hand of policymakers who did not permit the rights of all Americans equally through a unified
voice of the people by the people. Martin Luther King Jr. was a very intellectual man who had a
beautiful mind and heart when it came to the knowledge of what he was doing and how he did it.
His leadership came from a fire that bred in him believing that what was going on was wrong. But
he also looked to his Christian faith to guide him in his decisions and actions. Just like how
Mahatma Gandhi had done years before through his Hindu faith to help India gain independence
from Great Britain. Martin Luther King had the intelligence also to see that non violent actions...

The Battle Of Midway During The World War II
The battle of Midway was a Naval battle between the Japanese and the US that took place
between the 4th and 7th of June 1942. The battle took place just off the coast of the Midway
Islands which is known to be the midway point between Hawaii and Japan. This battle was the
first naval battle in which the ships in combat never fired guns at or even saw each other. The
battle was fought using aircraft taking off us Aircraft carriers who flew to the enemy ships and
engaged them there. This battle is a turning point in the World War II Pacific theatre because it
was the first battle against the Japanese in which the US emerged victorious, and it gave the US a
chance to take on a more offensive role in the war.
The US entered World War II on December 8, 1941, the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor,
Hawaii. The surprise attack on the American Naval base occurred in the morning of December
7th 1941. The Pacific naval fleet was docked in Pearl Harbor when the first Japanese aircraft
swooped down from over head and started bombing American ships. Both sailors and marines
began to take battle stations or general quarters on the ships to ward off the Japanese attack but to
no prevail. The Japanese emerged triumphantly from the assault on the US at Pearl Harbor by
destroying most of the American fleet. After this attack the Japanese were almost unopposed in
their conquest of conquering south East Asia. Japan achieved a long series of military successes. In

  • 3. Different Paths a Person Can Take in Harry Potter by J.K.... There are always different paths that a person can take, some too many to count and other just two choices. These paths decide and make us into who we are and who we will become. This difference is used in many works of art to express a meaning or a point. One of the best examples would the the Harry Potter novel series by J. K. Rowling. The Hero, Harry potterhimself, and the Shadow or villain, Voldemort or Tom Riddle. They are similar by their blood statue, and treatment at the hands of muggles, and how people are drawn to them. But they differ by their morals and view towards muggles, and have a difference of people close to them. The two of them were both used as polar opposites, led of the same start. Voldemort hates them to the core, sees them as bugs, and wants to rid the world of them or use them as slaves. But Harry sees them as people, some are bad and awful but that is no reason to kill them. He even saves his family the Dursleys when he could have left them to die. The orphanage of Tom s was much alike to the house of the Dursleys. Children hated and bullied them, the adults neglected and took away natural rights, the living conditions were horrible lacking, the food was sparse. The only real difference was the Voldemort was raised in World War II and that he had no blood relation to the others there. Neither of them had any idea of what their family roots were. Its because of this treatment from the muggles that they formed into whom they were. They Cupboard under the stairs let to Harry being great at sneaking about and to being rather submissive to authority and peer pressure. Tom fought and ruled against those in the orphanage, creating an sadistic authoritarian outlook on life. Harry is forgiving of them and will go beyond to not hate them, or anyone really. But Voldemort will kill them on site, just because its like squishing another bug. Later on in the books it seems that is sociopathic and psychopathic mind has warped enough that he feels that way about everyone, where before he could at least see some for ... When I was around 13 years old, I started tagging along with my brother, Sandy, who was a volunteer firefighter. I loved running calls with Sandy, and knew that I would be a firefighter when I grew up. I will never forget the time I went to a house fire with my brother. It was like yesterday. The fire pager went off. Sandy turned on his red light, and we took off in his truck. Before I knew it, we pulled up to a house with fire shooting out the first floor window, and Sandy went to work as a firefighter. That was it. From that point on, I knew I would be a firefighter. As a student in middle and high school, I struggled with ADHD. Those struggles made me doubt myself when it came to academics. After trying for four years, I finally became a Charlotte Firefighter when I was 22 years old and recently engaged to my fiance. I knew that this was my chosen profession, but I also realized that to advance in it, I would have to face my academic fears. What makes the man I am today ready for the academic challenges I so struggled with as a kid? The Potter Box Model Of Ethical Reasoning While the journalism profession might appear to be as straightforward as black and white, there are a handful of grey areas that raise ethical concerns. These areas can range from something as simple as the correct attribution of information, to as complex as the controversial practice of native advertisements. Journalists, however, have access to an abundance of resources, including multiple sets of guidelines, which can help them make a difficult decision about an ethical dilemma. Whether they are filing stories or creating media campaigns, journalists should consult these codes of ethicsto ensure that they are fulfilling their responsibility as watchdogs of society. The animal rights organization should seek different ways to convey their message to the public. Advocacy groups may not be associated directly with the journalism and media industries, yet it should still consult with ethical guidelines pertaining to media related projects. By taking a moment to step back from the campaign and view it from the perspective of the community, as suggested in the Bok Model, PETA would have identified the contentious nature of the images. The Potter Box model would also have been helpful for PETA, considering that it helps organizations break down an issue by identifying facts, values, principles, and loyalties. While this campaign has been banned in Germany and remains detested in other parts of the world, the animal rights organization is not affected. It continues to move forward with controversial media campaigns such as its Go Veg movement that compared women to meat and its advertisement featuring Joanna Krupa modeling nude with a crucifix, which received significant objection from the Catholic Church. Since advocacy organizations such as PETA are not legally bound to ethical guidelines, they are not pressured to abide by existing ones. However, if there was significant public support, advocacy organizations could be subject to adhering to ethical codes that would force them to consider the potential ... • 6. The Great Historians Missionary That I Just Wanted For... As I started my research I found so many great historians missionary that I just wanted to share their missions. February 1, 1823, Betsey Stockton, a young black woman in company with 13 white missionaries, was on board a ship rounding the southern tip of South America. The missionaries were on their way to the Sandwich Islands (present day Hawaii). They had left New Haven, Connecticut in November, sent out by the American Board of Commissioners of Foreign Missions, an agency at the forefront of American Protestantism s burgeoning interest in foreign missions. Betsey Stockton was in the second group of missionaries to go to Hawaii, the first having arrived two years before. Besides Stockton, there were six couples and a single man, plus three Hawaiian men and a Tahitian. The trip took five months by sea with no stopovers. Like others on board, Stockton kept a journal of the voyage and of her first couple of months in Hawaii. She had joined the company partly as a missionary and partly as a servant to one of the couples, Rev. and Mrs. Charles S. Stewart, who were expecting a child. However, Betsey s contract with the American Board did make clear that she was not to be simply a servant but was also to share in the mission s primary work. • 7. The Global Bearing Market For Automotive Bearings 1.Introduction In 2014, the global bearing market had a value of 75.91 billion dollars with a Compound Annual Grade Rate (CAGR) of 7.7% from the year of 2014 to 2020. The bearing market is mainly driven by automotive industry, meaning that if there is an increase of demand of vehicles, it will lead to an increase of bearings and steel (material used to manufacture the bearings) (PR Newswire, 2014). In March 2014, the European Commission found irregularities in the market for automotive bearings. These irregularities consisted of six companies that operated as a cartel for seven years (April 2004 July 2011) in the European Economic Area. Therefore, the European Commission penalized the participant companies by imposing fines of € 953,306,000 in total and also provided an opportunity for reduction when the involved companies agreed to clear up the case with the Commission. The involved companies were: the Europeans SKF and Schaeffler and the Japanese JTEKT, NSK, NFC, and NTN (European Commission, 2014). This paper presents a description of market structure in which the bearing companies operate in Europe, possible environment that led to collusive behavior, incentives for companies that led them to participate in cartel and resulting welfare from it. Moreover, the paper also presents an assessment of Government intervention with costs and benefits analysis and its effects to all stakeholders. • 8. Privacy And Its Effects On The Privacy but as new technologies arise in combination with the interest of corporations the ability to stay informed is putting at risk another important aspect of life, which is our privacy. We have become increasingly dependent on the internet and its applications to get through our days, to find the information we need, to store and send information, as well as, for entertainment. Privacycan range from what is contained within email, to what searches you made last night regarding that back pain you have been suffering for in the past few days. The selfishness behind the decisions corporations such as googles have taken upon in order to suffice their own financial goals, does not compare to the discomfort of not having any cyber privacy. Upon the many users Googleserves each one has the right to feel violated, because all are being targeted. While corporations gain, we lose. The advantage of having information a search away is less pleasing when knowing this information is being stored for the use of another. Policy is best defined as a statement by the government of what it intends to do such as law, regulation, or decision about a specific problem (Birkland, 2016). This definition about policy seems to say, that a policy tries to combat or resolve an underlining problem that a community, or a certain section of a community is dealing with at the current moment, with legislation. This is an important aspect of our country because it allows for better results when something goes wrong, in that the policy makers realize that something is not working, and would create policy in order to correct the problem. A problem also has a unique definition, when it comes to policy. A problem is defined as a usually undesirable situation that according to people or interest groups that can be alleviated by government action (Birkland, 2016). The definition of a problem seems to suggest that the policy makers and the government taking the necessary measures in order to solve the problem can mitigate any problem. In this country s history, there have been many problems that the government tried to resolve with many degrees of success. The Dream act was another case of a major problem seen by many, which need to be resolved with quick government action. • 10. Baroque Vs. Baroque Renaissance The style that followed the Renaissance is usually called Baroque . But, while it is easy to identify the earlier style by definite marks of recognition, this is not so simple in the case of Baroque. Baroque is considered to be one of the great periods of art history , and it is generally identified as being developed by Caravaggio, Gianlorenzo Bernini and Annibale Carracci. The Baroqueperiod developed in Europe in around 1600, and it can be seen partly as a reaction against the intricate and formulaic Mannerism that dominated the Late Renaissance. Nevertheless, to see Baroque as simply being a reaction against Renaissance ideals and norms is simplistic. Modern scholarship has identified within the Baroque clear signs of a return to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By synthesising these elements, I will establish how the Baroque can be distinguished from its precursors. The term Baroque , like many period designations, is not a complementary one. It had the connotation of meaning bizarre taste that does not follow the rules of the classical. This provides one basic definition of the Baroque; its contrast to classicism, despite the fact that Baroque was a reaction to, and an adaption of, the classical tradition. The word Baroque was a term employed by critics of a later period who fought against the tendencies of the seventeenth century, and wanted to hold them up to ridicule. Baroque really means... grotesque, and it was used by men who insisted that the forms of classical building should never have been used or combined except in the ways adopted by the Greeks and Romans... After the idealism of the Renaissance, and the slightly forced nature of Mannerism, Baroque above all reflected the religious tensions of the age notably the desire of the Catholic Church in Rome (as annunciated at the Council of Trent) to reassert itself in the wake of the Protestant Reformation. Thus, Baroque art became synonymous with the Catholic Counter Reformation. Baroque art in Catholic nations reflected the desire of Emperors and monarchs to strengthen their political position and glorify their own divine grandeur. By comparison, Baroque art in ... • 11. Wireless Communication Essay Telecommunication occurs when the exchange of information between two or more entities (communication) includes the use of technology. Communication technology uses channels to transmit information (as electrical signals), either over a physical medium (such as signal cables), or in the form of electromagnetic waves.[1][2][3][4][5][6] The word is often used in its plural form, telecommunications, because it involves many different technologies. Early means of communicating over a distance included visual signals, such as beacons, smoke signals, semaphore telegraphs, signal flags, and optical heliographs.[7] Other examples of pre modern long distance communication included audio messages such as coded drumbeats, lung blown horns, and loud whistles. Modern technologies for long distance communication usually involve electrical and electromagnetic technologies, such as telegraph, telephone, and teleprinter, networks, radio, microwave transmission, fiber optics, and communications satellites. A revolution in wireless communication began in the first decade of the 20th century with the pioneering developments in radio communications by Guglielmo Marconi, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1909. Other highly notable pioneering inventors and developers in the field of electrical and electronic telecommunications include Charles Wheatstone and Samuel Morse (telegraph), Alexander Graham Bell (telephone), Edwin Armstrong, and Lee de Forest (radio), as well as John Logie Baird and ... It may have been genuine, in which case, the illness was probably asthma. Late Adult Years: During his career height, Vivaldi was asked by many royalties and noblemen to play for them. He played for some weddings and wrote another Opus, Opus 9. Emperor Charles the Sixth adored Vivaldi s music, and he knighted him and gave him a gold medal, and an invitation to Vienna to work for him. In turn, Vivaldi wrote some good music for Charles the Sixth. Vivaldi s life ended in financial difficulties, for Vivaldi left Venice. He went to Vienna to perform and work for Charles the Sixth, who unfortunately died shortly after Vivaldi arrived. This tragedy put Vivaldi in a sticky situation. He no longer had Royal protection and money and income, aka. No job. Death: It is perhaps not very surprising that Vivaldi died soon after Charles, a year later, on the 27th of July, 1741. On July 28 he was buried in a simple grave. His funeral also took place shortly after his death. Although Vivaldi has died long ago, he has not been forgotten. Segregation in many public places continued especially in the South. At this time, segregation was legal. In 1892, the Supreme Court had ruled that a state could separate whites and blacks as long as the services were equal. On May 4, 1961, a diverse group of thirteen courageous individuals known as the Freedom Riders embarked on a bus journey into the South in order to challenge segregation in bus terminals. How would such costs and benefits be different over the product life cycle? Over the product life cycle, both cost and benefit are different. At the beginning life cycle (ramp up) of product, the cost of stock out would be high because for every order lost would not only result in lost in revenue but also future revenue. The theory is the customers tend to buy similar product and/or brand to keep consistency. In addition, it takes over four life cycle of product before that customer returns to HP. At the maturity stage, the extra cost, although very small, can be a real disadvantage because during this period, the market becomes very competitive and many players enter the same field causing price to drop. Customers also become more price sensitive. However, the benefit of better forecasting demands significantly helps lower the level of inventory. At the ending life cycle, cost of stockouts is lower than compared to at beginning because there is less fear of losing future sale. 4. The Embarrassing Moment Of A Friend Of Mine I remember the embarrassing moment a friend of mine went through in class a few years ago, when she had organized some chronological images on the wall. He proposed five key levels; physiology, safety, belongingness, esteem and self actualisation. Each level needs to be fulfilled to process to the next. With this in mind Maslov s theory suggests that children and adults cannot reach their full potential unless there needs are met. This theory is strongly represented within the social services sector and within the care sector (Green, 2009). Smidt (2006) highlighted that the way in which childhood is perceived changes overtime; adults construct an image of what childhood should be. The images of childhood and the way children are perceived are influenced by economics, politics, religion and class. This is evident within theorists differing views of children and their theories and helps us to understand why these differ. The objective of this essay is to identify five things that I can ascertain about the State of California from these financial statements. One thing you can learn from the financial statements is how many legally separate entities the State of California is financially accountable for. The governmental accounting term for these entities is called component units, and when they are presented separately from the primary governmental funds, they are discretely presented as if they are a separate fund of the primary government. Component units that are not discretely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While it is unfair to compare the magnitudes of these numbers without providing scale, it does speak to the differences in scale between California and Ohio. For Ohio, OSU represents just 39.11% of total expenses and 19.70% of total net expense for component units. More information can be found about both Universities in their respective state s Discretely Presented Component Units Financial Statements section. To find information on the blended component units, you must review the component units section of the Overview of the Financial Statements (Government wide Financial Statements). The blended component units include the California Public Employees Retirement System and the California State Teachers Retirement System as well as other Fiduciary component units. Since these units are blended into the primary government s financial statements, it is harder to dissect any pertinent information from them. This represents one thing you can learn about from a government s financial statements: how many component units it has and particular figures for any discretely presented component units. The next thing you can learn from a government s financial statements is about its infrastructure. Typically states elect to use the modified approach for capitalizing infrastructure. This is shown in the book when dante says Love led us to one death. Everyone knows that this is not possible but it is showing how neither of them are their own person because they based their lives on one another. When the author did this he showed how much he didn t care. He had no sympathy for those characters at all. Once the characters were in hell they were stripped of their identities and had no more loe for each other. To add on to these lovers being in hell they have not committed a sin to be there. • 34. Disadvantages Of Geothermal Energy Introduction Over the past several years the realization of a limited amount of renewable resources has pushed for a more environmentally friendly form of utilities. This realization has shifted the mindset of the consumer to prefer a more green and economical utility free home using sustainable energy sources. The scientists at Whole Life Energy are analyzing the use of geothermal energy to meet the requirements of our consumers and environment. This report covers what geothermal energy is, different types of geothermal energy, and geothermal energy advantages. What is Geothermal Energy Geothermal energy is the routing of liquid filled tubing underneath the Earth s surface to absorb heat . A small pump is used to circulate the liquid, so the heat can be extracted in the home or business. The earth absorbs and stores about half the suns energy. Due to this massive absorption, the earth maintains a fairly constant temperature of 45 70 degrees Fahrenheit at a depth of 6 feet (Rinkesh, 2017). This constant temperature will allow our company to tap into a never ending supply of heat production. Depending on the size of facility needing heating will determine the depth of the tubing required to draw the appropriate energy. The EPA states, farther below the surface, the temperature increases at an average rate of approximately 1В°F for every 70 feet in depth (Renewable Heating and Cooling, 2016). This flexibility allows us the ability to customize the conditioning ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

That is why intelligent design should be taught in schools. If we have to take science classes then we should have choice to learn about the meaning in intelligent design. Looking at a different point of view so we can chose in what to believe in. Intelligent designshould be considered as a curriculum. Intelligent design does not necessarily have to involve religion. It just means that an intelligent person created things. Therefore, ID should be taught in schools so the student can have another aspect and not just learn about evolution, so the students can have freedom of speech, and the students will develop critical thinking skills. By having another aspect to think about can make a student see other theories as well. Evolution should not be the only thing getting credit for the way life is. Intelligent design can also explain the existence of how things are created if we actually think about it. I personally do not agree with the teaching of evolution to students. For example, I do not believe that we evolved from apes or monkeys. If that was the case, why is there still apes in the world if they evolved into human. If we actually think about it evolution was mentioned from a man s theory. This tells its readers that no one will live forever, that we need to accept the fact that we will lose the ones we love and possibly don t love, otherwise they will lose us first. Although, I believe strife, in ways, always succeeds as well, seeing that without the success of strife, our strength teaches us nothing. Elie struggles with his mental, physical, and even spiritual health; especially during his trip to the final concentration camp. Although Elie loses so much during the holocaust, including his own family, he gains a dominating trait, strength.
