This document summarizes the Farmer Business School (FBS) approach developed by the International Potato Center to help smallholder farmers in Indonesia and the Philippines connect to new markets. The FBS was created based on the Farmer Field School and Participatory Market Chain Approach models to improve farmers' business and marketing skills. It involves farmers and other supply chain actors participating in experiential learning activities over an entire production and marketing cycle. The FBS curriculum was adapted for the Cordillera region of the Philippines based on local agricultural value chains. It was piloted with six farmer groups in 2012 and then scaled up to involve 32 farmer groups and over 120 farmers in total. The FBS aims to develop farmers' entrepreneurial skills and
