3. Project Goal and Objective
• The Project Goal “Improved
livelihoods for poor rural people
through large-scale adoption of RET in
the agriculture sector”.
• The Project will produce two
Outcomes:
• Outcome 1: 8,000HH invest in
economically viable RET for agriculture
production, processing and / or marketing
• Outcome 2: An enabling policy framework
and institutional modalities for facilitating
scale-up of climate resilient RET in
agriculture.
4. Component 1: Climate Resilient RET for
PADEE Smallholders
1. Grants for Establishing RET Supply Chains to
grantees (government institution, NGOs,
Firms):
(a) Field testing (90-10): US$80,000
(b) Roll-out (50-50): US$160,000
2. Support for Installation of non-Biogas RET for
Roll out or existing supply chains: Capacity
development; top-up to the IGRF; and
demonstration of RET applications.
5. 3. Support for bio-digester Installations: Strengthening of NBP
marketing strategy and after-sales service, Top up to the IGRF;
development of innovative applications for bio-digester energy; and
demonstration.
6. Component 2: Policy Support for Climate
Resilience and RET in Agriculture
1. Capacity Development of the TWG-CCAFF: A training course, study
visit and discuss policy options for mainstreaming climate resilience
and promoting use of RET in the agriculture sector;
2. Policy Studies: supports at least three policy studies relevant to
scaling up of adoption of RET in the agriculture sector;
3. Knowledge Management and Policy Dialogue:
• Audio, visual, online, hardcopy publications
• Seminars, workshops, field visits
• Impact survey and implementation progress database
• Support to GEF Office of MOE
