Why I Am A Psychologist, The State Of Kentucky One Must...
Licensure Paper I have wanted to be a psychologist most of my life. In order to become a licensed
psychologist in the State of Kentucky one must first obtain licensure. According to The Kentucky
Board of Examiners of Psychology (2007) the Kentucky Revised Statutes, KRS 319.005 states that no
one by law is allowed to use the title of psychologist, practice as a psychologist, or in any way cause
others to believe that they possess credentials to do so, unless they have been licensed by the board.
Since I am not one for breaking the law I decided to pursue my goal of becoming a psychologist and
go to college. After graduating with my B.S. in Psychology from the University of Phoenix I decided
to find what it was going to take to become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I decided I needed to talk to someone.
I contacted Robin Vick, who was at that time the Board Administrator, via email on September 4,
2012. I told her I was interested in becoming a licensed psychologist and looking into schools. I
wanted to know what type of curriculum and accreditation the school need to have in order for me to
apply for licensure. On October 8, 2012 she responded to me via email with the following
information.
The Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology is frequently asked ... (about) requirements for
licensure. 201 KAR 26:200 ... defines terms used by the Board of Examiners of Psychologists for
meeting educational requirements for licensure as a licensed psychologist.
Section 2 of this regulation states in part:
Section 2. (1) In determining the acceptability of curricular experiences and course work, the
following factors shall be considered:
(a) The curriculum shall encompass a minimum of three (3) academic years of full time graduate
study.
(b) A minimum of one (1) full academic year shall be spent in residence at the institution.
The minimum of one full academic year shall be spent in residence at the institution requires the
candidate to have spent one year minimum on a physical campus, with physical classrooms, where
students actually share the same space. (R. Vick, personal communication, October 8, 2012)
In a later email I asked Mrs. Vick about accreditation. She informed me that to apply for

I Believe Vision And College Alumni Into Accelerating...
Introduction
I believe vision promotes and excels college alumni into accelerating career pathways that promote
autonomy, innovation, and leadership expressed independently and as a team. Fostering the next
generation builds the framework for the assumptions relied upon to support the community needs for
career ready hires. In addition, vision aligns personal beliefs and career goals as a career services,
director. I would articulate, steward, and promote this vision to foster alignment with stakeholders
students, parents, and community leaders. In turn, encouraging career goals through exploration
through desires, needs, individual values, behavior and actions. Simply the opportunity to lead in
providing students with tools to make strategic and informed decisions about the career paths.
Articulating a Vision I believe collaborative planning with faculty, career development officers, and
hiring recruiters from a shared governance perspective. In addition, to articulating, developing and
rolling out the vision and prompting feedback to measure those expected outcomes. I would start by
communicating with those who teach, requesting structured curriculum to incorporate career
opportunities relative to their courses. The effective avenues to reach the masses would include
forums, press releases, college open houses, career fairs, website presence, faculty retreats, courses
and college wide updates all areas requiring community/workforce collaboration.

Examples Of Peaceful Resistance
AI believe that peaceful resistance to laws positively impacts a free society because it allows people to
say how they feel, and they do not have to go to extreme measures to feel like they are being heard. A
lot of violence that goes on in other countries occurs because the people just want to be heard by their
government and want to have a say. Peaceful resistance has been around since before Mahatma
Gandhi s time, however he strongly believed in it. He believed in peaceful resistance because he
thought that the government would listen more and be more open to change if the people were not
attacking their soldiers and killing others. By using the tactic of peaceful resistance, one is opening up
the fight to those who are young, old, or disabled and otherwise ... Show more content on

By the people being allowed to peacefully resist government programs or decisions, the people still
feel like they have a say in how the country is run like it was many years ago. Peaceful resistance all
shows others that you do not need to be strong or own a weapon to feel heard. On December 1, 1955,
Rosa Parks made a perfect example of how a peaceful resistance does make a difference. Rosa Parks
refused to give up her seat at the front of the bus for a white man, so she got arrested. Even though she
got arrested for refusing, she showed all the other black people and white people on that bus that she
was not afraid to go to jail for what she believed in. She was not afraid to stand up to two white men
who ordered her to move to the back of the bus. Rosa Parks was very well known after that day
because she used her freedom of speech to say what she wanted and to sit where she wanted to sit. She
did not give in and let the two superior white men bully her into moving to the back. Peaceful
resistance was just starting with Rosa Parks, and it continued for many years and still goes on to this

Incorporating a Workflow in the Clinical Setting
Creating a Flow Chart: Bradycardia
Today s healthcare environment is facing tremendous challenges in order to ensure safe, quality care,
while simultaneously providing affordable care that is still able to produce revenue. With continuously
escalating healthcare demands emerging from the population, healthcare providers and professionals
have no choice but to accept these challenges and put forth the best possible approach to meet these
demands involving patient care. New ideas for managing tests, medications, procedures, orders and
delivery of care must continuously be considered by the healthcare organizations to ensure that the
care they provide is appropriate, safe, efficient and cost effective. Periodically providers run into

Bradycardia Workflow Process
Sinus bradycardia is defined as a heart rate of less than 60bpm in conjunction with normal sinus
rhythm. A bradyarrhythmia, on the other hand has a disturbance in cardiac conduction with rate of less
then 60bpm (Swift, 2013). Intrinsic and extrinsic etiologies contribute to bradycardia. Intrinsic causes
relate to abnormalities in the conduction system, where extrinsic causes include: increase vagal tone,
electrolyte imbalance, hypoxia, hypothermia and hypothyroidism (Swift, 2013).
Patients with acute unstable bradycardia may present various signs and symptoms, including fatigue,
dizziness, exercise intolerance, syncope, and congestive heart failure. Treatments for the patients with
bradycardia are determined by the patient s overall condition and existing co morbidities. In cases
where the heart rate drops to a rate of 30 40bpm the patient may not tolerate this situation due to
reduced cardiac output, decreased myocardial function which will lead to poor perfusion to vital
organs (Swift, 2013). In severe cases, bradycardia may lead to asystole, which is why early
recognition and treatment of the acute bradycardia is paramount to achieving a good outcome for the
patient.
In order to help recognize and treat this condition our organization has created and enforced a
workflow chart to assist medical personal to implement the process in

Persuasive Essay On Stray Animals
Most people have, at some point in their lives, encountered a stray animal of some kind. It is common
to see stray animals such as dogs or cats roaming around cities and neighborhoods, sometimes
becoming a burden to the residents of those areas. Oftentimes, people will take pity on these animals
and adopt them as their own. However, as the feral animal population grows, it is becoming
increasingly difficult to accommodate all of the homeless pets. There are around 70 million stray
animals in the United States (Pepelko, 2014). This is a sizeable amount of animals and it continues to
grow each day. There are many proposed solutions to this issue such as euthanasia, an increase in the
amount of shelters, or stricter regulations on adopting animals, but there is one solution that stands
out: sterilization, otherwise known as spaying (for females) and neutering (for males). Sterilization is
the best solution to the growing stray animal population because it eliminates the possibility of
unwanted litters, stabilizes feral colonies, and decreases shelter populations. There are about 94
million cats and 90 million dogs kept as pets in the United States ( Facts Statistics , n.d.). Of all of
these animals, 1 in 3 will get lost in their lifetime ( Alleviating Concerns , n.d.). If an unspayed female
cat or dog becomes lost outside, they are likely to become pregnant. Whether or not the animal returns
home, the result is an unwanted pregnancy. When animals are left out in the

It was the way Thelma approach therapy all this years what had made it so hard for any sort of
improvement. She had a clear idea of what could help her get better and being truly upfront about it
was not really one of them. No wonder why the therapy with the other doctors did not work out, she
was hiding the biggest and most important reason of all for her obsessions. Dr. Yalom interpret this as
an error on the other therapist, even imagined they had little experience in the practice and that is way
they couldn t see what was really tormenting her. By Thelma hiding her true emotions, fears and wants
from Dr. Yalom it made it hard to build a relationship of trust between therapist patient. Dr. Yalom s
own issues did affected him when treating Thelma, he was so weary of this, of not seeing any kind of
progress he started to become desperate to achieve a solution. By trying to do this he pushed towards a
meeting between Mathew, Thelma and him, but this reflected mostly the need for Dr. Yalom to solve
this instead of what was best for his patient, even he knew this would be a very risky moved and
decided to pushed towards that anyways. His own ego, his own reputation was very important to him,
and overall I think he let this influenced his right judgment. Thelma caused in me mixed feelings on

Paul Laurence Dunbar Sympathy Summary
All beings require a degree of freedom to truly live, as such, caged animals are often subjected to a life
subpar to truly living. Consequently, this rule applies to humans as well, and unfortunately enough,
most humans in our era fail to live. In the poem Sympathy by Paul Laurence Dunbar, Dunbar seeks to
explore this sullen connection with the speaker and a caged animal feels by utilizing repetition and
metaphor.
The first stanza begins with the primary metaphor of the caged bird. In this line, the speaker states that
he knows what the caged bird feels (line 1). Under the assumption that the speaker, like most people,
cannot speak to animals, his understanding of the bird s feelings must come from inference from
observation. Dunbar goes onto depict a beautiful landscape of the birds natural habitat. However, the
feelings of the depiction are clearly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bird s mania manifests in vain attempts on breaking the bars of his cage with his body. Beating its
body against the bars until he bleeds red, (line 9) the bird would almost prefer death to this life if it
were not for the vague prospect of release. Towards the end of the stanza, the tale of the caged bird
thickens as his old scars... pulse... with a keener sting (line 12 13). This line shows that the bird is not
simply trying to fly away without understanding the limits of the change, the bird seems to represent
the spirit of a stallion rejecting the enforced domestication of its captors.
The last stanza summarizes the predicament of the cage bird, and the odd act which the caged bird
commits, the caged bird sings (line 15). However, singing often represents joy Dunbar clarifies that
this singing is in prayer. After beating himself against the bars he resigns his broken body to sing and
pray for success, reaching to a higher power for

that has risen. I will speak about the recent advancements from the tools and machines that forensic
scientist utilize to perform their daily duties and how tools and machines have evolved over the years.

The newly machine presents a few factors that were absent in the previous model. One of those factors
that wasn t present in the old model that s now present in the new model is the capability of
microscopic imaging down to microns. The old model only presented items in mono tones instead of
color imaging. Color imaging gives a technician the upper hand when it comes to narrowing down
specific specimens that may be in need of color, something the older model also lacked. Also, the new
model has been enhanced with a very strong and magnetic light source; with the newly technological
invention the light source enables examiners to rotate light to capture very punitive stringent marks
and features, something that the older model also lacked. One way to scan 3D data is with an
measuring system. The measuring system is the way of the analyzing one or more waves by
examining the pattern that s created by a technician. New three dimensional forensic ballistics requires
a software computer hardware platform that allows powerful graphics capabilities, a rich development
environment, and a stable OS (Operating System) with the capability of handling an abundance

Development of Plot, Theme and Characters in Macbeth by...
Development of plot, theme and character in Macbeth
Macbeth is an absolute amazing novel written by William Shakespeare. In just one of his major
scenes, Shakespeare has been able to successfully develop the plot, the main theme and the characters.
Act I Scene III has a huge impact on plot development, especially towards the main characters like
Macbeth and Banquo. Firstly, it foreshadows the future of the play and gives audience a feeling of
curiosity towards the thought of prophecies coming true or not especially when one has came true.
The witches prophecies about Banquo are Lesser than Macbeth, and greater./ Not so happy, yet much
happier./ Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none (I, iii, 65 68). It is Macbeth and Banquo s first
time meeting the weird sisters, but they ve already started to receive odd prophecies about their own
future. Secondly, this scene foreshadows Macbeth s possible negative actions in the future. In his
aside, he said My thought, whose murder yet is but fantastical,/ Shakes so my single state of man that
function/ Is smother d in surmise, and nothing is,/ But what is not (I, iii, 139 142). Macbeth is already
starting to imagine about murder something he has not dared to think about before. Furthermore, this
scene creates a revelation of the relationship between Banquo and Macbeth. They are the only ones in
the play who know about the witches prophecies, and that one of the prophecies came true. How will
each of these two characters

Healthcare Crisis And Affordable Care Act
Healthcare Crisis Affordable Care Act
During the 2008 presidential election, the issue of health care reform became a pressing issue, mainly
among the Democrats. Supporters quoted that nearly 46 million Americans were uninsured while 25
million did not have sufficient health coverage. The costly monthly insurance premiums led countless
individuals to fully rely on government entitled programs for their health care needs. Upon his
election, President Obama made health care reform the focus of his agenda during his first year as
President.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) or Affordable Care Act (ACA) for short, is
the new health care reform law in the United States of America and is often referred to by its
nickname Obama Care. The Affordable Care Act was signed into law on March 23, 2010, to reform
health care in the United States of America. ACA is a part of the Democratic Congress and President
Obama s efforts to reform the American health care system in order to provide health insurance to
millions of uninsured American citizens and lower the expenses linked to health care. This new health
care act is one that contains various enhancements to the quality and availability, as well as the
affordability of health insurance. There have also been improvements with the new cost cutting
measures, rules and regulations for both public and private health insurance companies along with the

negatively affect the individual s perception of themselves. The stigmatized individual may anticipate
that others will degrade and dismiss them (Link, 1987) and may, therefore, hide their psychiatric

depression. It is believed that such information may be useful in order to target the groups that hold
such attitudes. Also, this information may aid in the design of de stigmatization programs and

16. Atheism best describes Marxist Leninist theology.
17. Karl Marx viewed humanity as God. Fod was created by tour image and religion was created to
worship ourselves. Marx believed that humanity as a role in history should change all social
institutions and re establish them on atheistic foundations. So he was determined to bring that change.
18. Religion, said Marx, is the sigh of oppressed creature, the sentiment of a heartless world, as it is
the spirit of spiritless conditions. It is the opium of the people.

Nebulas Research Papers
Have you ever looked up at the sky on a clear night and wondered, what else is out there? . What
could possibly lie beyond the beautiful blanket of stars that we see with our naked eye? Nebulas are
one of many galactic phenomena that lie beyond the Kuiper belt. Mysterious and fascinatingly
beautiful sights to behold, they have more of a purpose than just painting the galaxy backdrop with
color. I m not a diehard fan of astronomy and to be perfectly honest I find it difficult to follow most of
the information I have learned. However, when I came across pictures and information on nebulas I
was instantly fascinated. From how and why they re formed, to what they do for the galaxy, I m
excited to take you on an intellectual journey though nebulas.

This however, is far from the truth. Previously it was believed that the dark areas in the sky were just
blank spaces between the stars, however it is now known that these blank spaces aren t so blank after
all (Koupelis p.367). Astronomers have discovered that they are in fact large clouds of dust, or
interstellar dust to be precise, that instead block out the light from the stars behind it (Koupelis p.367).
The term nebula has its origin in the adjective nebulous, which means lacking definite form or limits
(Koupelis p.370). Much like the clouds that we see here on Earth, nebulas also come in all shapes and
sizes. Per scientists, nebulas are defined as being an interstellar cloud of dust, hydrogen, helium, and
other ionized gases (Wikipedia). These large areas of dust and other particles thrive in an area known
as the interstellar medium and are formed when the interstellar medium goes through a gravitational
collapse (Universe). It s during this

Poverty and Its Impact on Development in the Caribbean

first world status. Most of the Caribbean countries are ranked as middle income countries. These
countries realize that achieving first world status is a long term initiative given the many social
problems that we face as a Caribbean nation. Among the many social problems that we face, poverty
is the most pervasive of them all. Despite the effort of many of these countries to try and eradicate
poverty it continues to account for the slow pace at which these countries develop. Commenting on

countries. Measurement of income inequality carried out in thirteen Caribbean countries between 1996
and 2002 show significant income inequality. The extent of inequality being greater in St. Vincent and
the Grenadines, St. Lucia, Grenada, Jamaica and Belize, all of which are countries with a substantial
incidence of poverty. Income inequality generates social inequality and social exclusion. A less
unequal income distribution would raise income levels among the poor, transiting some of them out of
poverty, thereby reducing the extent of social exclusion and disaffection. Inequality of wealth implies
unequal access to financial and physical resources as a basis for income generation. Similarly to
income, therefore, a less unequal distribution of wealth would be consistent with a lower incidence of
poverty. A third is that there is global inequality of income, access to resources, and in consumption.
Evidence produced by a number of studies show conclusively that the distribution of income between
rich and poor countries has

Assess The Role Of The Arab League During The Yemen Civil War
The main IGO that took part in the Yemen conflict was the Arab League. During the Yemen civil war
that took place between 1962 and 1970, the Arab League was made up of six member states that
included Yemen, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and Jordan. However, the Arab League was later
expanded to include twenty two member states. The role played by the Arab League during the Civil
war in Yemen, is evident from the roles in which the individual members of this union played in order
to further its interests. Egypt was known as the United Arab Republic during this conflict and it had
good relations with Yemen. In 1958, Yemen joined Egypt and Syria and the resulting union was
known as the United Arab State. However, this union did not last for ... Show more content on

The new republican government was recognized by the Soviet Union and Egypt, but other western
powers that had interests in Yemen such as the US and the UK, failed to disclose whether they
supported the new Syrian government (Terrill and Army War College (U.S.) Strategic Studies Institute

the union supporting the republican forces while others went behind the royal forces led by Imam
Mohammed Al Bdr. Egypt supported the republican forces while Imam Badr received support from
Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The republican forces embraced social progress and republicanism, and were
mainly present in cities, while Mohammed Al Bdr forces fought from rural areas. The conflict in
Yemen was partially caused by the action of Egypt to send soldiers to support the overthrowing of the
royal government. Saudi Arabia s involvement in the conflict was based on the fear that the war could
overspill into its borders, and therefore, it protected its interests by lending material support to Imam
Mohammed Al Bdr (Little 68). The republican forces viewed the provision of material support to
royal forces by Saudi Arabia as interference in the internal affairs of Yemen. On the other hand, Saudi
Arabia viewed the involvement of Egyptian troops in the conflict as a threat to its oilfields and its
monarchy (Terrill and Army War College (U.S.) Strategic Studies

Compare And Contrast The Sniper And Where Have You Gone...
Copious bullets, like that of torrential downpour, reign over the battlefield; a setting in which man
created through dispute, engulfs each and every individual caught within it. Some are immediately
spun into a downward spiral, while with others, it hits them in the midst even if they have built an
immunity to war s ways. Two fictional characters, both sharing a similar atmosphere, experience the
true affects to war in their own ways. Although war never changes, the individuals do, no matter the
situation. This is exemplified through the fictional tales, told by Liam O Flaherty s The Sniper, as well
as Tim O Brien s Where Have You Gone Charming Billy, and as the main characters are to each their
own story, they bear contradistinction to one another in the aspect of war, personality, and the
emotional reactions to war. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
War covets the aspect of man that is man itself, for it craves to morph them into mere objects and
targets. For many soldiers, they succumb to such a fate; being depleted their ability to feel immediate
emotion, they develop primitive, animalistic urges of bloodlust during a time of bloodshed. The
aspects of war gravely impacts a person, and as such can be seen in O Flaherty s character the sniper,
as well as seen in O Brien s character Private Paul Berlin. The sniper is a victim to the war s cold,
emotionless embrace. A Republican soldier, he is, divided from his brothers in arms on the other side,
the ones called the Free Staters. Nonetheless, under the circumstances, they all are pawns to Dublin s

The Effects Of Stress On College Students
Many students in college can deal with large amounts of stress in their educational careers. Handling
stress poorly is a normal behavior in a multitude of students at college is an overwhelming workload
for many; however, stress can be managed in a healthier way than many do handle it. Stress is caused
by an onslaught of assignments all at once or multiple tests in the same day. Lack of sleep and
drowsiness in class is caused by stress; however, this will just further the stress because the student
will not be paying attention in class. The problem is stress is so regularly handled in the wrong way,
such as drinking, putting off the work, and late nights trying to finish procrastinated work. Stress;
however, will be managed healthier by not procrastinating, using herbal stress relieving techniques,
and getting better sleep. If a student gets in a habit where they refuse to procrastinate their
assignments, then the overall work load that they feel is put on them is not as corpulent. Frequently
scholars feel as if their tasks at hand become too bothersome, they let them pile up. Procrastination
can overall just end up leading to more stress, and all nighters leading to a very unhealthy cyclical
cycle. A study done by the International Islamic University, Islamabad makes a statement saying that
Studies depict that procrastination has an influence on the personality factors of the individual as well
as his academic achievement and physiological well being among students (

Overpopulation Is The Problem
Kuo, G. (2012). MegaCrisis? Overpopulation is the problem. World Future Review, 4(3), 23 32.
Gioietta Kuo discusses overpopulation as the main problem causing all of life s problems on earth
today. Moreover, if the problem is not rectified, the world faces extinction from a shortage of
resources such as food, water, and land. Furthermore, the implied message is that overpopulation
needs to be addressed, because without reducing the inhabitants in the world, humanity will run out of
the means to sustain even the current population. This article relates to Connecting the Dots between
Species Extinction, Overpopulation, and the Use of Resources by Marshall Marcus, because Marcus
also believes that the extinction of any species can be traced back to the increase of the world s
population. Additionally, both authors feel that overpopulation is the cause for many of earth s
problems such as environmental destruction, climate change, and food shortage to name a few. With
all the data, facts and references, I feel this article credible. Using this information in my paper will
help argue my opinion on overpopulation.
Mankiw, N. Gregory. (1998). Be fruitful and multiply. (analysis of arguments for single child families)
(Brief Article)(Column). Fortune, 138(5), 48 52. Gregory Mankiw argues in his article that

Alternative Lumber Harvesting Methods Like Shelterwood
The U.S. Lumber Industry is one of the largest industries in the U.S., employing more than 1.4 million
people and producing products valued at more than $200 billion every year according to the USDA
(2004). The US Forest Industry is unique in that their methods for harvesting lumber are closely
scrutinized by private organizations, sectors of the U.S. government, as well as internally by the
logging companies themselves. In many areas, old techniques and methods are being discarded and
researchers are struggling to keep up. Forests of the Pacific Northwest have primarily been harvested
with clear cutting systems. Clear cutting systems lead to many ecological issues such as poor
aesthetics, habitat disturbance, increased streamflow, and soil erosion among others (Bliss 2000).
Alternative lumber harvesting methods like Shelterwood (Matthews 1989) and Group Selection
systems have been developed as different approaches to Silvicultural maintenance. The proposed
benefits of these approaches as alternatives to clearcutting include; greater forest biodiversity, greater
aesthetic quality, improved forest regeneration and greater future timber fields of that area. In order to
effectively determine the feasibility of the alternate lumber harvesting systems of Shelterwood
Systems Group Selection Cutting, long term observation of forest regeneration is needed. Forest
regeneration is key in determining the success of any silvicultural system. This paper will look at

Panthera Leo Essay
The Panthera Leo, also known as the lion, is a member of the cat family, and shares many common
traits of this family. The lion s body is very muscular, with less bone mass than other animals of
comparable size. This allows the lion to make powerful blows with its forepaws heavy enough to
break a zebra s back. Each paw has soft pads to make its movements quiet enough to sneak up on
prey. Lions walk on their toes, which means they are digitigrade walkers. The claws on the paw grow
as a series of layers. As a layer wears, the layers shed, and a new sharp pointed claw is then exposed.

As human development increases, more wild lion habitats are being destroyed or used for farming or
ranching livestock. When a lion kills/threatens a farmer or a rancher s livelihood, that individual is
likely to poach or poison the lion in retaliation. Farmers and Ranchers are more likely to kill the lion
to make sure they won t their crops or livestock don t get threatened. Moreover, conservation groups
work with people living in lion territories to educate them about the lion s ecological importance and
develop cheaper ways to protect their subsistence.
In the trophic level, a lion can be classified as second level/tertiary consumer. The lion mainly
consumes the primary level consumer which might be a deer for example for energy. The deer could
ve consumed grass and plants which are producers. The producers are organisms that make their own
food and biomass. In a trophic level, as little as 10 percent of the energy is transferred to the next
level. The other 90% is used for metabolic processes or given off to the environment as heat.

Types Of Social Media Networks
There are six basic forms of social media networks. One of them is known as a polarized crowd,
which is a type of social network in which there are two groups that have little connection and
communication with each other even when they are talking about the same topic. There are people
who have multiple connections within their group. However, they have very few connections with
people outside of their group. When it comes to discussing topics, feelings of conflict and tension
come about when people from different groups talk about them. These groups differentiate and
separate from one another based upon the disagreements they have within the discussion. Moreover,
two opposing groups tend to ignore each other rather than argue with one ... Show more content on

The connections within a tight crowd tend to be strong, and these connections tend to connect
subgroups as well. This results into stronger ties, closer relationships, heightened awareness of other
users, and more frequent communication. As people become more proactive when communicating
with each other, they can also refer them to other individuals, thus expanding the social network. They
also follow each other s news feed in order to know more about the person as they post things
throughout their life. They are also similar to a polarized crowd since people in a tight crowd share
common interests and common orientations toward those interests.
Various groups attract different communities when they are using a tight crowd as a means of
communication. This shows how sharing and support can be organized by networked learning
communities in social media. The Facebook group for this class is an excellent example of a tight
crowd. It is a social network where people have the same orientation and interest towards virtual
communities, and can share ideas in order to enhance the learning process. In this case, people within
the group are trying to learn more about virtual communities. Moreover, people within this social
network tend to reply to each other at a faster rate since everyone in the class has a common goal or
they would have the same question in regards to the topic. Also, the class is fairly small

Going Into Diversity I Wasn t For Sure How The Class...
Going into Diversity I wasn t for sure how the class would go. Considering I grew up in a more
northern state and not the deep south, I did not thinking going into this class, people would be as open
minded about the subject as I am. By no means is Missouri, as progressive as say Washington or
California, but I do believe we are a few steps ahead of the south. When I first met my roommates
they, would use terms in conversation that I would never ever use. I was explaining to my friend s
mom about how they would use certain terms. She was clearly astonished, she had not heard those
terms used that since the 1970s. That conversation made me realize how something as simple as an
individual s geographically location can mold and shape how you perceive the world. Not only did my
location change my perception, but what my mother and father taught me morally. My father was in
the Navy and lived overseas in multiple counties. He was the minority, he learned the ways of
different people. Some of his best friends were people he met over there. Both my mother and father
taught, us to accept everyone, don t judge people because of their religion, skin color, or background.
We are all humans, just trying to make it in this world, make it harder on them because they are
different? The third biggest influence is taking the time to learn and research diversity on my own.

The Mexican And Chinese Cultures
1. Cultural diversity is defined as the different combinations of cultural and subcultural minorities
(e.g. ethnic, racial, national, religious, generational, marital status, socioeconomic, occupational,
health status and preference in life partner orientations) coexisting in a given location (Estes, 2014).
The Mexican and Chinese cultures are two cultures from separate geographic continents that I will be
analyzing in this paper. The Chinese culture has numerous different cultures. Hans Chinese will be the
focus here. México is where the Mexican culture is found. México is a country located in North
America, south of the United States. México has a coastline along the Pacific Ocean, Caribbean Sea

When Chinese and Mexican people come to America, they must be able to enculturate and acculturate
in order to function and survive in the American culture. This is a process that is influenced strongly
by home and family. Educating one s self and their children will be priority. The Chinese and Mexican
cultures both have strong ties to influencing or enculturating their children whether they live in China,
Mexico, or in the United States. Enculturation is The process by which an individual learns the
traditional content of a culture and assimilates its practices and values. (Merriam Webster.com.

The King s Theory Of Moral Development
Lee Lebensbaum Psychology 05/25/2016 The King Says This: An Analysis of the Self Through
Various Psychological Theories It is not easy being born a king. From the days of my humble youth to
the present, my path to royal prestige has not been a clear path. The trials and tribulations I have
suffered were only to develop my character. So, I say this: Am I the number one contender for
valedictorian? No, I am not. Am I going off to Harvard to become a lawyer? No I am not. But the one
thing that I am is something you jabronies will never be. Regardless after every failing grade,

in his theory of moral development. From the first stage of his theory of moral development, I recall
following orders to the letter. The punishment and threat thereof were terrifying. Detention,
suspension, expulsion were strong deterrents. Raised by very strict parents, I listened and obeyed
every command. School was the priority, and getting good grades was the most important thing to
them. Therefore, it was the most important thing to me. But as I grew, I began to see conflict in what
my parents saw was right and what the teachers said was right. This lead me to stage two of Kohlberg

Portrayal of Women in La Belle Dame Sans Merci, Lady of Shalott, My last Duchess, and Porphyria s
Lover
Within the five poems we have studied, La Belle Dame Sans Merci , Lady of Shalott , My last duchess
, Porphyria s lover and Marianna . Women are portrayed as weak characters with no voice. All of these
poems are seen through the eyes of men, who accuse them of being self centred and lacking in morals.
However, these judgements can be placed upon the men themselves. The social/historical position of
women during the nineteenth century can be identified within the poems. Browning s dramatic
monologues in particular show women s lack of voice and dependency on men during the eighteen
hundreds. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Keats describes her, as a faerys child and later says in language strange she said I love thee true this
implies her mythical quality which mystifies and captures the knight .
The poem represents three characters the narrator, the knight and La belle dame. The story is told by
the knight, but begins with opening questions from the narrator, o what can ail thee knight at arms,
Alone and palely loitering? Keats portrays La belle dame in a negative light, as a character who
distrusts and mistreats the knight. Perhaps this expresses keats feelings towards women, however he
creates separate characters with different personalities. Although La belle dame is described as a
beautiful mythical creature she uses the knight and leaves him to die. In the last three stanzas of the
poem the knight describes the sight of dead men on the cold hill side who have also been enthralled by
the faery s child . Her kind words and beauty tricked the knight along with the other men. The title La
Belle Dame Sans Merci the beautiful women without mercy highlights this.
The knight in some ways can be seen as being portrayed negatively. Keats portrays men as being
superficial human beings who fall for the beauty of woman. The knight is fooled by the faery s child

The group must meet Swales six characteristics of a discourse community which are common goals,
mechanisms of intercommunication, provide information and feedback, possesses genres in the

Global Pay Gap Between Men And Women Essay
According to the World Economic Forum, it will take 118 years to close the global pay gap between
men and women (WEF). Common recommendations on how to fix this problem, like improved child
care and maternity leave policies, are difficult to implement and costly. However, there are ways to fix
other large contributors to the gender wage gap. A frequently overlooked contributor is women s
negotiations of their salaries, or lack thereof. Because women tend to negotiate less than men, they on
average have lower salaries. This difference in annual pay leads to a large discrepancy between the
gender s earnings and greatly factors into the gap. Policies such as pay transparency and programs in
self management increase the incentive and ability of women to negotiate their salaries, which is
crucial in narrowing the gender pay gap. The social cost of pay negotiation and a lack of perceived
opportunities deter women form asking for higher salaries. Many women are reluctant to advocate for
themselves because they feel the social cost of their actions will be higher than the monetary gains
from a potential raise. There is a social stigma that females should be compassionate and nurturing
and therefore should not want more money for themselves. Females worry that the act of negotiating
one s salary can easily be misconstrued as being selfish and competitive, two adjectives often
considered un womanly . The expectation of social and workplace backlash keeps many women from

Acid And Non-Buffer Experiment
In this experiment, we set out to determine the effect the addition an acid and a base would have on
the pH of a buffer and a non buffer. We utilized phosphate, a buffer, and sodium chloride, a non buffer,
as our base solutions and added hydrogen chloride, an acid, and sodium hydroxide, a base, to each
solution separately. First, we took a base pH reading of 40mL of phosphate with a pH meter, then
added 1 mL of our acid, HCl, at a time, recording the pH after each drop was added. As depicted in
Figure 1 and 3, the pH gradually dropped after each mL of acid was added to the phosphate solution.
Similarly, we added 1 mL of acid at a time to our sodium chloride solution, after a base pH reading,
until our pH reached 2. The pH of the sodium chloride dropped more rapidly than the pH of
phosphate, depicted in Figure 1 and 4. After the addition of the acid was complete, we measured out
new 40 mL solutions of phosphate and sodium chloride to test with our base, sodium hydroxide. As

We predicted that the buffer s pH would change less rapidly than the pH of the non buffer. Thus, we
hypothesized that if mL s of an acid or a base was added to a buffer, then the pH of the solution would

non buffer. Throughout our experiment, we recorded that the non buffer only required 5 mL of acid to
reach our goal pH, while the buffer required well over 10 mL to reach the goal pH. Similarly, the non
buffer only required 2 mL of base to be added in order to reach our goal pH, while the buffer, once
again, required well over 10 mL. Furthermore, this discovery confirmed our prediction that the buffer
s pH rose/dropped less rapidly. Our hypothesis was also supported because the pH of the buffer did
rise/drop more gradually than the pH of the

Essay On Child Care Observation
My observation that I did was at Biron Head in Kari s toddler room.
Space and furnishing: The classroom I observed has appropriate lighting and has a good room
temperature. I overall did not see any repairs that needed to be done. This classroom and center in
general seems to be well maintained.
Furniture for routine care This classroom has child sized furniture but does not have highchairs at all.
The children eat as group. The classroom is easily accessible having a nice layout making it easy to
get around. The classroom itself is split in half so there is another group of kids on the other side. Due
to the classroom being shared I do think space wise it does seem a bit tight in areas. The classroom has
adult sized chairs that are accessible.
Provision for relaxation: In the classroom, it has a safe zone that contains pillows with breathing
techniques on it. This area is easily accessible to the children always.
Room arrangement: The classroom I am has a child sized bathroom right in it making toileting easy.
The children can get around the room easily as there is open walk spaces and the room is arranged
well. The room itself is not very large as it is shared so there isn t much room to engage in active play.
Display for children: The classroom has different photos and posters displayed there could be more
photos of things such as the children s families and what not. I also did not see a lot of diversity

According to The Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology (2007) the Kentucky Revised Statutes, KRS 319.005 states that no one by law is allowed to use the title of psychologist, practice as a psychologist, or in any way cause others to believe that they possess credentials to do so, unless they have been licensed by the board. Introduction I believe vision promotes and excels college alumni into accelerating career pathways that promote autonomy, innovation, and leadership expressed independently and as a team. Fostering the next generation builds the framework for the assumptions relied upon to support the community needs for career ready hires. In addition, vision aligns personal beliefs and career goals as a career services, director. I would articulate, steward, and promote this vision to foster alignment with stakeholders students, parents, and community leaders. In turn, encouraging career goals through exploration through desires, needs, individual values, behavior and actions. Simply the opportunity to lead in providing students with tools to make strategic and informed decisions about the career paths. Articulating a Vision I believe collaborative planning with faculty, career development officers, and hiring recruiters from a shared governance perspective. In addition, to articulating, developing and rolling out the vision and prompting feedback to measure those expected outcomes. I would start by communicating with those who teach, requesting structured curriculum to incorporate career opportunities relative to their courses. The effective avenues to reach the masses would include forums, press releases, college open houses, career fairs, website presence, faculty retreats, courses and college wide updates all areas requiring community/workforce collaboration. • 4. Examples Of Peaceful Resistance AI believe that peaceful resistance to laws positively impacts a free society because it allows people to say how they feel, and they do not have to go to extreme measures to feel like they are being heard. A lot of violence that goes on in other countries occurs because the people just want to be heard by their government and want to have a say. Peaceful resistance has been around since before Mahatma Gandhi s time, however he strongly believed in it. He believed in peaceful resistance because he thought that the government would listen more and be more open to change if the people were not attacking their soldiers and killing others. By using the tactic of peaceful resistance, one is opening up the fight to those who are young, old, or disabled and otherwise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By the people being allowed to peacefully resist government programs or decisions, the people still feel like they have a say in how the country is run like it was many years ago. Peaceful resistance all shows others that you do not need to be strong or own a weapon to feel heard. On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks made a perfect example of how a peaceful resistance does make a difference. Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat at the front of the bus for a white man, so she got arrested. Even though she got arrested for refusing, she showed all the other black people and white people on that bus that she was not afraid to go to jail for what she believed in. She was not afraid to stand up to two white men who ordered her to move to the back of the bus. Rosa Parks was very well known after that day because she used her freedom of speech to say what she wanted and to sit where she wanted to sit. She did not give in and let the two superior white men bully her into moving to the back. Peaceful resistance was just starting with Rosa Parks, and it continued for many years and still goes on to this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Incorporating a Workflow in the Clinical Setting Creating a Flow Chart: Bradycardia Today s healthcare environment is facing tremendous challenges in order to ensure safe, quality care, while simultaneously providing affordable care that is still able to produce revenue. With continuously escalating healthcare demands emerging from the population, healthcare providers and professionals have no choice but to accept these challenges and put forth the best possible approach to meet these demands involving patient care. Bradycardia Workflow Process Sinus bradycardia is defined as a heart rate of less than 60bpm in conjunction with normal sinus rhythm. A bradyarrhythmia, on the other hand has a disturbance in cardiac conduction with rate of less then 60bpm (Swift, 2013). Intrinsic and extrinsic etiologies contribute to bradycardia. Intrinsic causes relate to abnormalities in the conduction system, where extrinsic causes include: increase vagal tone, electrolyte imbalance, hypoxia, hypothermia and hypothyroidism (Swift, 2013). Patients with acute unstable bradycardia may present various signs and symptoms, including fatigue, dizziness, exercise intolerance, syncope, and congestive heart failure. Treatments for the patients with bradycardia are determined by the patient s overall condition and existing co morbidities. In cases where the heart rate drops to a rate of 30 40bpm the patient may not tolerate this situation due to reduced cardiac output, decreased myocardial function which will lead to poor perfusion to vital organs (Swift, 2013). In severe cases, bradycardia may lead to asystole, which is why early recognition and treatment of the acute bradycardia is paramount to achieving a good outcome for the patient. • 6. Persuasive Essay On Stray Animals Most people have, at some point in their lives, encountered a stray animal of some kind. It is common to see stray animals such as dogs or cats roaming around cities and neighborhoods, sometimes becoming a burden to the residents of those areas. Oftentimes, people will take pity on these animals and adopt them as their own. However, as the feral animal population grows, it is becoming increasingly difficult to accommodate all of the homeless pets. There are around 70 million stray animals in the United States (Pepelko, 2014). This is a sizeable amount of animals and it continues to grow each day. There are many proposed solutions to this issue such as euthanasia, an increase in the amount of shelters, or stricter regulations on adopting animals, but there is one solution that stands out: sterilization, otherwise known as spaying (for females) and neutering (for males). Sterilization is the best solution to the growing stray animal population because it eliminates the possibility of unwanted litters, stabilizes feral colonies, and decreases shelter populations. There are about 94 million cats and 90 million dogs kept as pets in the United States ( Facts Statistics , n.d.). Of all of these animals, 1 in 3 will get lost in their lifetime ( Alleviating Concerns , n.d.). If an unspayed female cat or dog becomes lost outside, they are likely to become pregnant. Whether or not the animal returns home, the result is an unwanted pregnancy. When animals are left out in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Paul Laurence Dunbar Sympathy Summary All beings require a degree of freedom to truly live, as such, caged animals are often subjected to a life subpar to truly living. Consequently, this rule applies to humans as well, and unfortunately enough, most humans in our era fail to live. In the poem Sympathy by Paul Laurence Dunbar, Dunbar seeks to explore this sullen connection with the speaker and a caged animal feels by utilizing repetition and metaphor. The first stanza begins with the primary metaphor of the caged bird. In this line, the speaker states that he knows what the caged bird feels (line 1). Under the assumption that the speaker, like most people, cannot speak to animals, his understanding of the bird s feelings must come from inference from observation. Dunbar goes onto depict a beautiful landscape of the birds natural habitat. However, the feelings of the depiction are clearly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Towards the end of the stanza, the tale of the caged bird thickens as his old scars... pulse... with a keener sting (line 12 13). This line shows that the bird is not simply trying to fly away without understanding the limits of the change, the bird seems to represent the spirit of a stallion rejecting the enforced domestication of its captors. The last stanza summarizes the predicament of the cage bird, and the odd act which the caged bird commits, the caged bird sings (line 15). However, singing often represents joy Dunbar clarifies that this singing is in prayer. After beating himself against the bars he resigns his broken body to sing and pray for success, reaching to a higher power for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In just one of his major scenes, Shakespeare has been able to successfully develop the plot, the main theme and the characters. Act I Scene III has a huge impact on plot development, especially towards the main characters like Macbeth and Banquo. Firstly, it foreshadows the future of the play and gives audience a feeling of curiosity towards the thought of prophecies coming true or not especially when one has came true. The witches prophecies about Banquo are Lesser than Macbeth, and greater./ Not so happy, yet much happier./ Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none (I, iii, 65 68). It is Macbeth and Banquo s first time meeting the weird sisters, but they ve already started to receive odd prophecies about their own future. Secondly, this scene foreshadows Macbeth s possible negative actions in the future. In his aside, he said My thought, whose murder yet is but fantastical,/ Shakes so my single state of man that function/ Is smother d in surmise, and nothing is,/ But what is not (I, iii, 139 142). Macbeth is already starting to imagine about murder something he has not dared to think about before. Furthermore, this scene creates a revelation of the relationship between Banquo and Macbeth. In addition to its negative impact on social opportunities, stigma may likewise negatively affect the individual s perception of themselves. The stigmatized individual may anticipate that others will degrade and dismiss them (Link, 1987) and may, therefore, hide their psychiatric problems. They may also internalize these negative convictions, one outcome of which is lowered self esteem and self efficacy. There have been many studies of stigma associated with mental disorders, however; only a minute of these have focused on what factors predict stigma associated with depression. It is believed that such information may be useful in order to target the groups that hold such attitudes. Also, this information may aid in the design of de stigmatization programs and interventions to reduce stigma in people with depression. The aim of this research is to investigate a couple of potential predictors for depression stigma. The predictors that will be explored will be gender, depression literacy, and familiarity. Most of the Caribbean countries are ranked as middle income countries. These countries realize that achieving first world status is a long term initiative given the many social problems that we face as a Caribbean nation. Among the many social problems that we face, poverty is the most pervasive of them all. Despite the effort of many of these countries to try and eradicate poverty it continues to account for the slow pace at which these countries develop. Commenting on the Caribbean, Carlson (1999) points to two key factors which have greatly impeded the spread and potential for economic growth and development; inequity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The inability of Caribbean economies to generate jobs, especially a greater proportion of higher paying jobs, is thus one of the underlying reasons for the persistence of poverty. The second major reason for widespread poverty in the Caribbean is inequality of income and wealth within the countries. Measurement of income inequality carried out in thirteen Caribbean countries between 1996 and 2002 show significant income inequality. The extent of inequality being greater in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Lucia, Grenada, Jamaica and Belize, all of which are countries with a substantial incidence of poverty. Income inequality generates social inequality and social exclusion. A less unequal income distribution would raise income levels among the poor, transiting some of them out of poverty, thereby reducing the extent of social exclusion and disaffection. Inequality of wealth implies unequal access to financial and physical resources as a basis for income generation. Similarly to income, therefore, a less unequal distribution of wealth would be consistent with a lower incidence of poverty. A third is that there is global inequality of income, access to resources, and in consumption. The US Forest Industry is unique in that their methods for harvesting lumber are closely scrutinized by private organizations, sectors of the U.S. government, as well as internally by the logging companies themselves. In many areas, old techniques and methods are being discarded and researchers are struggling to keep up. Forests of the Pacific Northwest have primarily been harvested with clear cutting systems. Clear cutting systems lead to many ecological issues such as poor aesthetics, habitat disturbance, increased streamflow, and soil erosion among others (Bliss 2000). Alternative lumber harvesting methods like Shelterwood (Matthews 1989) and Group Selection systems have been developed as different approaches to Silvicultural maintenance. The proposed benefits of these approaches as alternatives to clearcutting include; greater forest biodiversity, greater aesthetic quality, improved forest regeneration and greater future timber fields of that area. Common recommendations on how to fix this problem, like improved child care and maternity leave policies, are difficult to implement and costly. However, there are ways to fix other large contributors to the gender wage gap. A frequently overlooked contributor is women s negotiations of their salaries, or lack thereof. Because women tend to negotiate less than men, they on average have lower salaries. This difference in annual pay leads to a large discrepancy between the gender s earnings and greatly factors into the gap. Policies such as pay transparency and programs in self management increase the incentive and ability of women to negotiate their salaries, which is crucial in narrowing the gender pay gap. The social cost of pay negotiation and a lack of perceived opportunities deter women form asking for higher salaries.
