Troytoria Research Paper
As seen through her high school transcript, Troytoria is an intelligent and focused student. What
you are not able to view through her academic transcript is her extensive extracurricular and
volunteer activities that have made her into the student she is today. Troytoria has not only excelled
academically but also mentally and socially. She has taken out a great amount of time to dedicate to
community service opportunities to assist her immediate community. She has done so through
community outreach programs associated with the Dual Degree program at Georgia State University
. She is also an impressive worker at her part time job at Taco Bell, where she serves as a cashier
several hours during the week. Her volunteer opportunities through one... Show more content on

Successfully maintaining an extensive class schedule at Georgia State University has enabled her
to feel confident in a strenuous collegiate environment. Her consistent involvement on the Booker
T. Washington High Schools marching/concert band, swim team and dance team has given her the
opportunity to acknowledge her talents beyond the world of academia. Not to mention, Troytoria is
a well written and spoken poet, she has been a past participant in the Omega Psi Phi Talent hunt
competition and has recently paired with Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University, and
Morehouse College s Next Great American Poet Scholarship (NGAP). Through these
organizations, she has been able to constantly develop her leadership skills and her ability to work
independently as well as with a team.
I wholeheartedly recommend Ms. Troytoria Wade for the Atlanta Neighborhood Choice
Scholarship. Throughout my time teaching Troytoria, I have witnessed the depths she will go
through to ensure her that her work and efforts are consistent and persistent, and am confident that
she would be an exquisite

A Letter to Jessica
Dear Jessica: I hope and guess you are doing well in your new area and city, and your recent job
is exciting as well. We are doing well here in Washington except for a few issues that have put
me into a lot of worry and concern. I believe you do understand the challenges that come with
adolescent children and the temptations that they face in life due to the different developments
and changes that occur into them, as well as adventurous steps and ideologies that more often
can lead them into great trouble and risk. My aim of writing you this letter is to share with you
and seek your guidance and opinion about my son Joel, who turned 14 years two months ago. I
am deeply worried and concerned that Joel might be involved or has started using drugs due to
the differences that I have personally noted and observed in his behaviors and character in the
last few months. I have been observing him, and I regret to tell you that this is not the child or
boy that we knew him to be. My greatest worry is about his future that may be jeopardized and
his education as well in the event that the boy is involved in drug abuse. I am certain that you as
a parent you know and understand equally well the impact and pain that a parent experiences and
faces seeing a loved one loose direction and ruining his or her future. As the old English adage
says, blood is thicker than water; I have every reason to get worried. Joel has found new friends in
the neighborhoods that are a little older than him

Dbq Indian Removal Act
The most destructive law to the American Indians which barely passed May 28, 1830 was known
as the Indian Removal Act, and later was known as the Trail of Tears. In 1803 President Thomas
Jefferson brought up to Congress that all American Indians be encouraged to move voluntarily
from their lands east of the Mississippi River. For some time, many American Indians began their
new venture and voluntarily started to move. President James Monroe also agreed with Thomas
Jeffersons ideas and convinced Congress to move on with the process. Thomas Jefferson and
President James Monroe both believed that the Indians could survive only if removed to the east,
where they could have time to be civilized. Thomas Jefferson himself defended the... Show more

During 1835 until 1842 The Second Seminole War occurred and The Third Seminole War
between 1855 until 1858. Seminoles were a confederacy of multiple clans which consisted
tribes of Lower Creek, Oconee, Yuchi, Alabama, Choctaw, and Shawnee who lived in southern
Georgia and northern Florida. After the First Seminole War the Georgia Florida frontier was not
peaceful. Seminole men and women were attempted to be relocated but were resistant. In
December of 1835 Maroons and Seminoles started an attack in North Central Florida against
United State troops which ended up killing more than 100 of their soldiers. Moving back and
forth between Florida and Southern Georgia the Seminoles were able to confuse their enemies.
Along the way they were able to set up refuge in the Okefenokee Swamp. In August of 1836
Ware County militia Commander Thomas Hilliard said to his superiors the Seminoles go
concealed as much as possible, and are committing depredations continually, robbing our corn
fields and killing our stock. November of 1838 Georgia Governor George R. Gilmer had said
that General Charles Rinaldo Floyd would destroy or drive from the state the savage enemy. In
November of 1838 Floyd and 300 officers and privates waited at the southeastern edge of the
Okefenokee Swamp before entering a week later. After only seeing a few Seminole and found an

Quantitative Analysis For Business Class Studying For Week...
The Learning Team A (LTA) in the Quantitative Analysis for Business class studying for Week
Four was both interesting and challenging for the team members. The members were comfortable
and uncomfortable with different and similar topics (steps in testing research hypothesis,
comparing means of two or more groups, and calculating the correlation between two variables).
LTA reflects back over the previous weeks studying and week s four topics. LTA member also
expresses and relates how the application is applied in his/her chosen field.
Previous Week s Reflection
Overall LTA discovered statistics consist of calculating everyday numerical data. Statistics consist
of classifying, analyzing, summarizing, organizing, and interpreting numerical data, according to
(McClave, Benson, Sincich, 2011, p. 3). The team also discovered the following from the authors
among other pertinent information: Descriptive statistics. Discovered how to use numerical and
graph methods. Inferential statistics. Discovered how to use sample data to make predictions,
estimates, decisions, and other generalization regarding a larger set of data. Fundamental elements
of statistics. (1) Experimental units, (2) Population (3) Variable, (4) Samples, and (5) Statistical
inference.
During week four, LTA discovered the steps involve in testing research hypothesis and how to
accomplish this task. The learning team discovered the importance and how to prove and disprove
three research questions. The

Tom Ford Geometric Structure
This project is called Geometric, which I will use squares, lines, and circles inside my work.
Geometric really interested me because it is made out of lines and curves but it can simple shape
and it could also be really complicated. Geometric are easy to change, it could be anything.
In my project, I am going to create a brand which is a womenswear and cosmetic combination
brand inspired by Tom Ford. I have chosen Tom Ford is because it is a clothing brand but also with
cosmetics, also the design of their clothing were in simple colours and it shows the independent
of women. I am going to present my work in a look book and using geometry as my main idea for

I have looked at the website of Tom Ford, the Instagram pages and video clips. Tom Ford has
shown their mood clearly and their social media have supported their brand. The video clip I
have watched is a behind the scenes clip but it is also a commercial. I think this is a very clever
way because the audience can see your process and final work at the same time. The clip is
moving quickly and with a fast tempo music. It supports that this brand is not for casual wear
but more formal and office look. The editorial pages of Tom Ford have also been very united and
clear of their theme. The editorial I have seen is mainly accessories and eyewear. The
background were all black and wearing black outfits with a Tom Ford logo on the editorial. The
logo is pink translucent and in every editorial page. Although I am doing a look book not a film
and editorial but I have learned how this could match with your brand personality and it could
support you a lot. My brand is targeting at grown up women and who are independent and
powerful, the colours in my look book will be present in low saturation and mostly black, white,
and grey. Colours like red, yellow and blue might also be in my look but they are little highlights

Yellow In Crime And Punishment
The novel Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky is filled with many techniques and
images that give it meaning. The techniques and imagery used by Dostoyevsky help develop a
deeper meaning throughout and assist in analyzing it. One of these techniques is color imagery,
specifically with yellow. The color yellow may seem like an insignificant detail but within this novel
it serves a great literary purpose. It is a technique that is used frequently which suggests that this
was done on purpose and that there is a relation between the different scenarios yellow is used in.
By examining the significance of the color yellow and the characters associated with it, Fyodor
Dostoyevskysuggests a clear separation between the lower class and the upper... Show more content

The first example is a description of the old woman s clothes, a mangy fur cape, yellow with age
(5). Over time clothes will age and can slowly change colors, so when Raskolnikov first sees the
old woman and describes her as wearing yellow clothing, it emphasizes how old Alyona
Ivanovna is because her clothes have turned yellow from wearing them so long. This further
emphasizes that she has put herself into a life of poverty because not only does she live in a
deteriorating apartment but she also wears old clothes. Another example of aging is when
Raskolnikov was in the streets and he saw a man staring at him. Raskolnikov decides to follow
him through the streets but eventually loses him and ends up wandering into a parlor looking for
him. The narrator describes Raskolnikov looking around the parlor and seeing that everything
there was as before, the chairs, the looking glass, the yellow sofa and the pictures in the frames
(III, VI). Raskolnikov noticed that nothing had changed from the last time he was there. All the
furniture was the same and the sofa was yellow which suggests that it was very old and had aged
since his last visit. This is significant to the entire novel because aged items are only described with
the lower class and people in poverty don t have the ability to buy new things, they have to live with
what they have. This emphasizes the apparent poverty throughout

Introduction to Geology GEOL 101
Midterm 1 Review
Based on the textbook: Understanding Earth, 6th Edition, by Grotzinger and Press
CH 1: earth system
Summary
The human creative process, field and lab observations, and experiments help geoscientists
formulate testable hypotheses (models) for how the Earth works and its history. A hypothesis is a
tentative explanation focusing attention on plausible features and relationships of a working
model. If a testable hypothesis is confirmed by a large body of data, it may be elevated to a theory.
Theories are abandoned when subsequent investigations show them to be false. Confidence grows
in those theories that withstand repeated tests and successfully predict the results of new ... Show

Questions being addressed include:
Where do the plate driving forces originate?
At what depth does recycling occur?
What is the nature of rising Convection Currents?
The assembly and subsequent break up of Pangaea represent a striking example of the effects of
plate tectonics acting over geologic time. The story begins with the breakup of the ancient
supercontinent of Rodinia 750 million years ago. Plate tectonic processes dispersed the fragments
of Rodinia forming a system of ancient continents that existed from the late Proterozoic through
much of the Paleozoic. Continued tectonic movement eventually resulted in a set of continental
collisions and reformation of the ancient continents into Pangaea. Assembly was completed during
the early Triasic, about
240 million years ago. Then, about 200 million years ago the rift that would evolve into the
Atlantic Ridge began to open and the separation of Pangaea was underway. By the beginning of
the Cenezoic, India was well on its way to Asia, and the Tethys sea that had separated Africa from
Eurasia began to close into the modern inland sea that we know as the Mediterranean. Continued
changes during the Cenozoic produced our modern world and its geography.

Gender Barriers in Sports
Since way back in the day there s always been that big barrier blockading females and males
when trying to engage in a sport that is not appropriate for their gender. It had always been that
some sports are aimed towards the male gender and others towards the females. When a man or
women joins a sport that is not originally for their gender, it is not something that many people want
to accept.
Gender is defined as an ongoing cultural process that socially constructs differences between men
and women. This day in age, men still have more privileges than women do. Men have more
wealth and power, many role models are males, and women are seen as child raisers. Dr. Jack C.
Watson says that women in sports face such things as social... Show more content on

There was this new teammate trying out and from a far distance I had no idea who it was. Once
I got onto the field, I realized that it was a boy. Not only was he a boy, but he was black. It was
hard enough for him because he was one out of the two black people in our entire high school.
Everyone was kind of in shock and so was the coach because it was much unexpected. The season
started, he made the team, and we were off to a good start.
We were playing this very important game against our biggest rivalries and we were ahead by two
points. All of a sudden a girl from our opponents team had tripped and fallen. She was right near the
male on our team. She got up and started flipping out saying that he was playing too aggressive
and that field hockey was a girls sport and boys shouldn t be allowed to play. She blamed him for
her tripping and falling to the ground, when he hadn t even touched her. There ended up being
this huge article in the news paper about how this dark skinned high school male was playing a
girls sport and was playing too aggressively and hurting other players. It really put a damper on
his outlook to this sport, but it upset him because he didn t even have any interaction with this
girl. It became such a big deal that every time we had a game, there was an article in the paper
about it and almost every week there was a little section updating people about his aggression in
the game. He wasn t even an

Bullying in Social Networks
Bullying in Social Networks
Bullying in Social Networks Technology, it seems has unleashed an ugliness in us. (Pitts, 2010,
p. 8A.) With all the technology around us, one would assume that it should be used for good.
However, people today are using social networks such Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Skype,
Youtube and many more, not only as a way to keep in contact with people but as a way to attack
people. Technology has evolved into this great thing where, one all can keep in touch with family
members or high school friends from the past or the present. I have used some of these social
networks to keep in touch with my own family members and peers. It s simple, one basically goes

We need to use what we have and use it to strengthen and help others not weaken and knock
down our fellow citizen. Sadly, many people use networking for viscous deeds. If one knows
that he is easily offended, it might be better to not even open an account with a networking site.
Yet if one does, it would be wise to limit it to close friends and family as protection from this
harsh society. Perhaps, sticking to old fashioned phone calls, letter writing and going to visit
that individual that you want to keep in contact with. I remember back when I was in
elementary school during lunch one spring day. I recall walking into the cafeteria, and my
friends waved me down to come join them. I took cuts in line because I wanted to be with them
and catch up on all the latest gossip. I managed to get in line without the lunch lady seeing me. I
began talking with my friends, when this snooty girl looked at me and said, What do you think
you re doing? I ignored her because I simply didn t care. I continued chatting with the girls until,

Nighthawks by Edward Hopper
Nighthawks, was painted in 1942 by Edward Hopper (1882 1967) an artist who was known as a
great master in the ranks of America realists. (Levin, Gail) Hoppers paintings were first hung in
retrospective in 1933, Hopper played host just three years later to the first major show of
surrealist art in New york. (Levin, Gail) Hopper grew up in Washington Square, and lived there
for most of his life. Hopper excelled in creating realistic pictures of clear cut, sunlit streets and
houses, often without figures. (Levin, Gail) He offers a brand of realism not bound to reality, and
the places he depicts are familiar and foreign, comfortable and disquieting, said the USA Times.
The paintingresides in the Art institute of Chicago. Nighthawks just like many of Hoppers
paintings give a feeling of loneliness, and isolation as well as a feeling of darkness due to the
dark hues. The picture leaves the viewer with thousands of words and interpretations with a third
person view of an isolated man as he sits in a small parlor and ponders. The painting was created
in 1942, which took place during the time of the great depression.
Hopper frequently chose to give his paintings discreet and dark feelings. Dark hues were used to
give a feeling of darkness contrasted with bright lights from inside the parlor. As well as using
dark hues, Hopper blends these well with the red of the building in the back round as the last of the
sunlight beams off the building. Hopper centers a man in

A Summary Of The Homeland Security Act Of 2002
A Summary of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 ASCI 254 12/12/14 Ryan Hoffman Abstract
The Homeland Security Act of 2002 is a far reaching act of legislation that was created in the
wake of the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. The bill was sponsored by Richard Armey
of Texas and received final congressional approval on November 19th, 2002, and signed into law
by President George W. Bush on November 25th, 2002. The Homeland Security Act was one of the
largest government responses to the terrorist attacks on 9/11, creating an entirely new department,
the Department of Homeland Security under the Executive Branch. The Act also created hundreds
of new positions within already existing government departments. The act has been amended a
multitude of times since its original passage and over two different Presidential Administrations.
Many citizens are still split on the decision whether or not the Homeland Security Act has helped
make Americans safer, or if it was the beginning of many government intrusions of citizen s
privacy. Either way, it is an act of legislation that is here to stay, and as citizens it is important to
understand it and how it affects the lives of American citizens. In the wake of September 11th,
2001, Americans both young and old were in desperate need for answers: Who did this? Why did
they do this? How could this happen? The most important question, though, was: How do we
prevent this from happening again? Then

The Mind And Brain Work
One of Smarts main points is that a man is a vast arrangement of physical particles, but not, over
and above this, sensations or state of consciousness. (Pg.584). What I took from this point was that
Smart was trying to express that the mind isn t some sort of thing that exists separate from the brain.
The mindat most exists within the brain but isn t some kind of physical thing or separate existence
within us. I believe that the mind and brain work together and have a connection but they do not
exist as the same thing. If everything were just measurable brain processes we would all act and
feel the exact same way about every experience. We wouldn t use our consciousnessto differ
between what is right or wrong when our brain sees and hears different situations. Take putting
your hand on a burner for example, our brain tells us to put our hand on a burner, and we register
that we are feeling pain and that it is painful but without or consciousness and our mind we wouldn
t register to tell our brains to pull our hand away. Our mind takes experiences we have lived
through to create our consciousness about different situations. Our mind is what makes everyone
unique and our uniqueness is why we can t measure minds in a scientific manner. Our minds are
based on our unique and personal lives.
Smart also believes in the theory of Occam s razor (Pg. 584). Occam s razor (Ockham s razor)
essentially describes that when considering numerous ideas or theories, the one with the

Prejudice In The Swing Era
The swing era was vast and equally varietal. From Benny Goodman to Chick Webb or Artie Shaw
each had their individual sound . Moreover, this separated them and gave them their own appeal to
the masses. However, The swing era occurred at a time when racism and prejudice still had a
strong foothold in public eye. While playing swingdid allow a member of a minority to have some
freedom from this prejudice, they still could not expect the same treatment as the white players.
In The Swing Era: Pure Pleasure swing was described as an escape for people who are down on
their luck. Moreover, Swing gave people hope and a place to break free and forget about your
trouble. This is most likely why swing climbed so aggressively into popular culture. Swing was
not just a type of music; it was a lifestyle. The bands that toured lived a breathed swing. Some
bands would have to sleep in their bus or car because they could not afford to get a room. They
would either sleep in the bus or go out and look for a home that was willing to be shared for the
night. Bands would sometimes be fed and sheltered by these families. The video said that these

Black talents were often paid considerably less, barred from cafes, and often could not sleep or eat
in the hotel in which they were performing. Teddy Wilson was only allowed to record with Benny
Goodman but he was black and Benny thought playing in public with him could hurt his career. The
narrator stated the music might be colorblind but the country is not. However, he eventually
allowed him to step into the limelight and Benny described that show as one of the bests. Even
though racism was heavy swing music still gave the minorities a place to go where they were
judged based off the music they played and not their skin color. For example, Chick Webb was a
black hunchback but he played his music with so much energy and talent that no one

Essay on The Exploitation and Objectification of Women in...
Women have consistently been perceived as second class citizens. Even now, in times when a
social conscience is present in most individuals, in an era where an atmosphere of gender
equality supposedly exists, it is blatantly apparent that the objectification and marginalization of
women is still a major social issue. In reality, progression in terms of reducing female exploitation
has been stagnant at best. Not only is the degradation of women a major problem that to date has
not been eradicated, but it is actually being endorsed by some music celebrities. There are a
growing number of people who purchase rap albums that support the fallacy that women are mere

(Weisstuch). The underlying message is that women live exclusively for the sexual gratification of
men based on male power, privilege and preference. These images serve as a grim reminder that
women are being exploited as sexual objects through rap videos. Therefore, the objectification of
women through the means of rap music is a major influence in the exploitation of women. In
addition to the actualization of women, rap also promotes extreme violence and abuse towards
women. Besides the ?mild? abuse the vast majority of rappers perpetually depict, some rappers
display a loathing so deep it can only be classified as misogyny. In the song ??97 Bonnie and
Clyde,? by Eminem, he says ?There goes mama, splashing in the water. No more fighting with
dad, no more restraining order. Blow her kisses bye bye, tell mommy you love her? (Bonnie). In
a sinister fashion, the song goes on to describe how he murdered and disposed of his ex wife
with the assistance of his three year old daughter. Here the violence towards women crosses
generations and involves the traumatic use and abuse of a three year old girl. It promotes that
violence, even toward our most vulnerable, is acceptable if they are female. Undeniably, the hip
hop culture?s perverse attitude towards the treatment of women has gradually been accepted by
society. It seems society has been desensitized to the violence of rap by

Essay about Mary Paul s Letters
Essay Assignment: Market Revolution
During the nineteenth century, America went through a number of social, economic and political
changes. Revolutions in manufacturing and commerce led to substantial economic growth. Several
cultural movements reformed American society. Mary Paul, once just a normal girl from Vermont,
led a life that was shaped by the changes of the 1800 s. The information gathered from Mary Paul s
letters to her father make it clear that Mary s life experiences turned her into anything but an
average woman. However, in the scope of the economic and cultural reforms of the nineteenth
century, Mary Paul represents the average American. Before the Marketing Revolution, women had
a very limited role in society. They ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eventually, Mary Paul s pursuit of success and happiness takes her in a different direction. She
begins to show dissatisfaction with Lowell after working there for only a month. She describes
the dangers of working at the mill, one girl fell down and broke her neck... The same day a man
was killed by cars. Another had nearly all of his ribs broken. Another was nearly killed by falling
down and having a bale of cotton fall on him. Safety was one reason that Mary began to have
doubts about working at Lowell. She also writes, I am very tired tonight... If I thought I could
make a decent living at C[laremont] I would come back there. The aspects of working at Lowell
that once fascinated Mary Paul no longer fit her needs and desires. In a fashion similar to how the
Market Revolution changed her definitions of happiness and success, a new revolution soon
changed these definitions again. During the nineteenth century several cultural reforms occurred in
America. Some movement encouraged individualism, while others encouraged communalism. In
general, these movements served to counter the growth of capitalism during the Marketing
Revolution. Many reformers set up utopian societies, in which they would lead their reformed
lives. Charles Fourier was a reformed who was against the system of labor for wages. In response to
the capitalist waged labor, he created groups called phalanxes. The members

Gramophone Research Paper
Some believe that about 30,000 to 60,000 years ago, music was first discovered. The love of a
song back then could only be heard live or if you learned to play it yourself. Since then, there
have been many inventions for you to listen to your favorite genres, songs, and artists anytime
you like. The history of music players dates back to November 21, 1877 when Thomas Alva
Edison invented a device for recording sounds and then playing it back called the Gramophone.
It was patented on February 19, 1878. The Gramophone looked like a cylinder that was smaller
at one end and bigger at the other. Even today, at the annual Grammy Awards the awards that are
given out are miniature versions of Edison s invention. Despite the Phonograph and the
Gramophone s success, the invention of the radio in 1906 was a threat to the recording industry.
The major record companies had a hard time keeping their own sales up due to the radio, but the
later invention of the LPs and 45 rpm records made the sales rocket. By the 60s and 70s, the
records had taken America by storm. There are many types of records with a variety of number
of songs. A 10 inch 78 RPM record could play only about 3 minutes of music. But as sizes changed

Claudette Colvin Unknown Heroes Analysis
Unknown Heroes Claudette Colvin was an influential person durring the civil rights movement
in society by standing up for her rights, and fighting for what she believed in. Claudette was 15
when she first stood up for her rights on the city bus. Claudette knew what her rights were and
she did not want anyone to take them away from her. When blacks continued to get arrested for
standing up for their rights on the buses, the whole town of Montgomery came together to try and

The whole town came together and tried to make a change in society and fight for their rights.
The people of Montgomerytook part in a bus boycott, they borrowed peoples cars who were
willing to give them up for free transportation during the boycott. If there was no transportation
for the blacks, they would not be able to get to their jobs which were necessary for them to make
money. Car owners were asked to lend their vehicles to the MIA carpool so that other people
could drive them around town. For most people especially if they had little money, having a car
was a proud symbol of status. Letting total strangers drive one s car around all day was a hard
thing to ask, but nearly two hundred people turned over their keys to the boycott (Hoose 75).
Many people took part in the boycott and did everything they could to receive equal rights on the
buses. Some people were willing to fight even harder than just borrowing cars, they began to walk
everywhere they went. Family members made enormous sacrifices and sometimes even hobbled
home with barely enough energy to eat supper. And family chores like shopping had to continue.
That meant more steps. The foot weary warriors told their stories at meetings, inspiring and

half man and wanted to keep his youth after seeing Enkidu die. Gilgamesh knew his destiny was
not to receive eternal life because he was half man. He decided to go against the odds to fight
against not having eternal life searching for the secret despite what the Gods told him.
Exposition:The story dates between 2500 1500 B.C. Gilgamesh ruled in Uruk, a city in ancient

Crisis:Death is the crisis for Gilgamesh and the fact he is half man is preventing him from

boatman Utnapishtim for eternal life. Climax:Gilgamesh goes on his journey for everlasting life
and find the boat man Utnapishtim for everlasting life. First, Gilgamesh is challenged to stay
awake for 6 days and 7 nights, but he fails at the task. Secondly, he tells Gilgamesh that a prickly
plant has the answer for his eternal life and if he is able to capture it he will hold in his hands
the answer for his youth. As Gilgamesh goes to cleanse him self, a serpent takes his plant and
Gilgamesh is saddened because this now means death is in his path. He decides to make plans
to take the plant to the elderly men to renew their youth which shows leadership as a king is
suppose to be. Resolution or Denouement: In the beginning of the epic Gilgamesh the people of
Uruk saw Gilgamesh as a lousy, obnoxious, arrogant ruler. After his journeys to find everlasting
life his heart began to soften and see a different perspective of life. It was revealed long after
Gilgamesh s death that he was actually considered a god. This helps explain his fear towards
death. Gilgamesh wanted to physically be a great warrior until the end of time opposed to just
another historic memory. Although it was not actually death he was afraid of,

Illegalization Of Interracial Marriage

Racism has been an issue throughout the country for over 90 years. Interracial marriageshould be

Economic Justice Vs Distributive Justice Essay
An average American employee must work for an entire year before he or she earns what the
average American CEO earns in one day (Rezvani, Pirouz 6). The United States GINI coefficient,
a measure of income inequality, sits at 0.590 one of the highest marks in the entire developed
world (4). A majority of wealth sits in the hands of less than one percent of the country and those
lucky enough to fall under this percentage are catered to by politicians in search of reelection. That
said, it is easy for one to wonder whether the We the People mantra has been replaced with a mantra
of We the Corporations (10). Clearly, economic injustices transcend economic issues and affect
more than a citizen s bank account.

In the most general sense, distributive justice refers to justice in the allocation of resources while
commutative justice refers to justice in acts of exchange. Distributive economic justice requires
that every individual should have the moderate income needed for the basic necessities while
commutative economic justice requires that the price of commodities be set at an agreed upon
standard of equity (Macpherson 7). Minimum wage serves as a tool for distributive economic
justice as it ensures that citizens have the means for basic sustenance while the free market system
serves as a tool for commutative economic justice as its grants largely unrestricted access for both
consumers and producers. To date, most of the research regarding economic justice has supported
distributive theories because the main requirement for commutative economic justice, equality of
access, is limited by uncontrollable forces like geography, race, and gender, which can all prevent
access to economic systems (Armour

Part-Whole Effect Vs Composite Effect
BACKGROUND
The ability of the human visual system to integrate facial features into a gestalt whole is one of
the processes that seems to contribute the most to human face perception (referred to as holistic
face processing; Taubert et al.; 2006). A large number of behavioral studies provide evidence that
demonstrate that faces are processed holistically. Two examples that provide evidences for holistic
processing are the composite effect and the part whole effect. In composite effect tasks,
participants are required to decide whether two identical top halves are the same (Goffaux
Rossion, 2006; Le Grand, Mondloch, Maurer, Brent, 2004; McKone, 2008). Evidences suggest this
task is more difficult when the two top halves are paired with different bottom halves, indicating
that perception of the identity of features in one half of a face is changed by a whole face ... Show

The part whole effect describes the difficulty subjects have recognizing familiar faces from isolated
features (Davidoff Donnelly, 1990; Donnelly Davidoff, 1999; Tanaka Farah, 1993; Tanaka Sengco,
1997). These two effects suggest that features seen in a whole face context are integrated, instead
than being represented and processed independently. These observations are supported by
neurophysiological data fromsingle cell studies (Freiwald, Tsao, Livingston, 2009; Tsao, Freiwald,
Tootell, Livingstone, 2006) and event related potential studies (Jacques, d Arripe, Rossion, 2007),
confirming the idea that faces are processed holistically (Farah, Wilson, Drain, Tanaka, 1998;
McKone, Kanwisher, Duchaine, 2007). Although there have been many demonstrations of holistic
processing on judgments of face identity, there have been few studies which investigated whether
holistic processing is involved in trait

Persuasive Essay On Political Advertising
Political ads can be viewed as annoying, excessive, biased, and unnecessary. This opinion is
shared among many people within America with many wanting all ads to stop entirely. Now, are
these ads truly needed or are they just to make a candidate look good? Certain strategies used in
political campaigns can be confusing and frustrating. However, they can also help bring people
together to discuss their opinions and beliefs in order to decide who to support. Political ads can
encourage people to come together because of a common cause, improving our nation, and who is
the best candidatefor President. Political signs and commercials are one tactic that can be
misleading. Many people feel that candidates use bandwagons and endorsements to help them
look good and promise immediate changes which are either not possible or can take a long time
to achieve. This is like with Mondale Ferraro, who made many different types of images to make
him look more popular (Document A). However, these images also help people decide who would
be betterfor the job based off of looks, beliefs, and other attributes. I would use these to help make
myself stand out from the other candidates by putting in true aspects into my campaign so they
do not put false hope into what I stand for. This also helps decide what issues the public focuses
on the most based on their beliefs. The candidates running for President try to get rid of the
issues the public are concerned about to encourage the public to vote for them. Bandwagons use
well known and respected groups of people to influence the public to vote for a candidate
because they are doing it. This can be done with several methods, like endorsement, glittering
generalities, and even using a spoil system to intrigue people into electing them. This is like the
Reagan TV ad where he tried to improve his image with the actions he had promised, which
spread with the public (Document B). In addition, it helps clarify what people want most out of a
candidate for their benefit, as well as their own benefits. I would use bandwagons, because it helps
get other people s attention and make myself popular to others. But these methods can help a
candidate who already has a lot of public support. This

The Indian Lotus ( Nelumbo Nucifera ) Via The Floating...
Internal Investigation: Exploration Juan Garcia 11/17/15 Period 2 Problem/Question What is the
effect of varying pH solutions on the rate of photosynthesis on the Indian Lotus (Nelumbo
nucifera) via The Floating Leaf Disc Assay? Background The Indian Lotus is an aquatic plant that
is quite popular among cultures as being sacred. It is often used to portray beauty as it grows from
the mud unstained and pure. It is also used today in many Asian foods. As such the growth of the
Indian Lotus is one that is very important to many cultures and societies. Knowledge of the
optimum pH in which the Indian Lotus grows can be significant due to how the pH of the
environment the Indian Lotus grows in can vary based upon pollution and other factors. Therefore
in the event of high pollution, or any situation that changes the pH of the environment botanists
may be able to predict or decipher the effect of that change on the growth of the plants in the area,
specifically the Indian Lotus. The experiment can also conclude the extent that pH affects Indian
Lotus growth. It may conclude that varying pH has a slight effect on Indian Lotus growth or even
the ability to stop it from undergoing photosynthesis completely and kill the organism. The
experiment is important in general to find how pH can affect Indian Lotus growth which can in
turn affect other aspects such as the diet of locals or lead to even a decrease in Indian Lotus which
is culturally significant to cultures and religions.

Finally we learn that Sheila has a bad temper when Eric says, She s got a nasty temper
sometimes… (Page5) This is a crucial point, as her temper plays an important part later in the
play.
Throughout the play the author, JB Priestly uses entrances and exits to dramatically make
characters enter or leave scenes. The first entrance (page10) is the inspectors. My first
impression of the inspector when he first arrives in the book, is that of a very serious and clever
man, a man that takes his work very seriously, we see an example of this when Mr. Birling says,
Have a glass of port or a little whiskey? and the Inspector replies, No, thank you, Mr. Birling. I m
on duty. This shows that he abides by the rules or his work. I think that the other characters where
a little bit surprised at the news of an inspector arriving, as one would be if an unexpected
inspector arrived. This is shown when Mr. Birling says, An inspector? What kind of inspector?
Sheila makes the next dramatic move (page21), this time an exit, when she runs out of the room
after seeing a picture of Eva Smith. The inspector shows her the photo and she runs away as we
can see here, He produces the photograph. She looks at it closely, recognises it with a little cry,
gives a half stifled sob and then runs out. This tells the audience that Sheila has seen this girl before

The Statement By Margaret Mead
Thesis
The video provided for this assignment supports the statement by Margaret Mead due to its
illustration of small groups of people making changes. One individual can make a difference, a
good example of this was Madalyn Murray O Hair who petitioned to get prayer taken out of
public schools arguing that separation of church and state should be upheld. A single person can
make a difference, many people with the same goals and views have a more powerful voice and
are empowered to pursue bigger change despite whatever obstacles they face. From the smallest
community in the neighborhood where people grew up to the President of the United States of
America, anyone can make a change if they determine in their heart to never give up working to
obtain positive change.
Change is the one constant in life that always remains throughout time. Throughout life, change
occurs from birth until death. Human beings can and have pursued changes in their communities,
governments, even their nation as a collective force by joining others with similar motivations and
goals as themselves. Inequality in life, an ideal that people hold when being oppressed, can spark
movements such as civil rights, equal pay, educational rights for all and women s rights to choose
what happens to their own bodies. This can grow into organizations that we know today that still
fight for civil rights for all, among other organizations fighting for common interests of select
groups.

Spaying And Neuter Pets Essay
the Arms of an Angel and there are dogs and cats sitting behind a closed kennel door looking at
the camera with sad eyes. This breaks my heart every time I see this commercial or hear the song
playing on the radio. There are many millions of animals that are unloved, neglected and
abandoned in shelters each year because people do not participate in getting their animals spayed
or neutered or the animals are over bred for profit.
Animal overcrowding in shelters is only one reason of many as to why pet owners should spay or
neuter their pets, but it is the most important reason of all. Shelters all over the United States are
past the overcrowded level and even dog rescue groups are finding it harder and harder everyday to

When you think about all these situations, the amount of animals in a shelter can rapidly increase
every day, and this is very sad that we have done this to our furry friends .
Spaying and neutering your animal can not only help with the overcrowding in shelters but can
actually be beneficial to your home and pets. Male dogs and cats when un neutered have a
tendency to mark their property. When they mark their territory it can lead to a very unpleasant
smell in and around your home. Have you ever walked a dog and noticed them peeing frequently
on fire hydrants, trees, corners or certain sections in the yard? This would be your male animal
stating that he is a male. When you neuter your male animal, this behavior decreases and thus
you can have a cleaner smelling house. Also, it is a recognizes concept amongst pet owners that
getting your animal fixed can help with behavioral issues such as aggression, dominance, and
also sexual arousal around a female animal. Female dogs and cats go into a heat cycle, similar to
that of a female human. Their cycle causes them to bleed for about two weeks and can make
quite the mess if you are not planning for it. Also, spaying can help with the females behavior as
well; they mellow down and are less fussy. If you re a female you know that when you re on your
cycle you can be temperamental, it s the same for female dogs and cats.
There is also health related issues that are more prominent in animals that aren t

Surgical Wound Essay
Although pilonidal sinus cannot be considered a debilitating disease, patients are confronted with
discomfort and a lower degree of quality of life due to some complications like the formation of
abscess, sinus related drainage, and pain12,13. The recurrence is often due to the omission of any
tract during the initial operation, infection of the wound, or abscess formation, that may lead to the
formation of the new sinus tract inside the cicatrizing surgical wound. Accumulation of debris or
dead tissue in the intergluteal cleft, sweating, friction or poor hygiene are the predisposing factors
for recurrence14. Also, placing the suture line on the midline with considerable tension on the line
and failure to lessen the depth of the natal cleft... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, similar wound infection rates have been reported in adult and pediatric populations
with saline irrigation versus 1% povidone iodine. A well established disadvantage is its
cytotoxicity to healthy cells and granulating tissues. The solution dries and tends to discolor
skin. It may also cause local irritation to the peri wound skin25. 73(36.5%) patients in the
povidone iodine group reported wound itching following dressing, which stopped within two
weeks. Brownish discoloration of the granulating tissues was reported by all patients in this
group. There was no difference between the Povidone iodine group and the other groups
regarding cosmetic healing of the laid open wound. No local or systemic adverse effects of
Povidone iodine use or signs of toxicity were observed or reported by any patient in our

Blanche Dubois Body Image
Blanche Blanche would portray the image of a middle aged blonde that has blue eyes and an
outgoing personality. She would have visible signs of aging on her face as well as other obvious
indicators that her prime years took place in the past. She would not admit it, but she has many
problems with body image and looking attractive to the opposite sex which she tries to disguise
by resembling an outgoing person. Other physical attributes would include long slender legs that
she makes sure appear visible as often as possible. She would make herself high maintenance and
sassy as if she belonged or at least deserved to belong anywhere she felt fit. These descriptors

He has a defined physique and facial structure that allows him to come across as having an
intimidation factor. This intimidation factor plays into the beating of his wife Stella and her
unwillingness to do anything about it because she acts too intimidated by his rage and eruptions
in emotion. It also ends up clear that Stanley s masculine and toned appearance comes off as so
attractive to Stella that she develops a naivety to his controlling and abusive behavior and looks
past it in return for sexual favors. Stanley s combined traits that include muscularity, masculinity,
aggressiveness, and blondeness led me to choosing Dolph Lundgren as the actor who would play
Stanley. Dolph Lundgren plays the antagonist Ivan Drago in the fourth Rocky movie versus
Russia. He portrays an aggressive Russian (close to Polish) who has an aggressive attitude with
no intention of backing down at anything unless he feels like backing down. This relates to
Stanley for the obvious reasons of aggression but also in the fact that Stanley never backed down
from trying to get Blanche to leave his home and his wife alone. The costume that Stanley would
wear would resemble a wife beater and jeans most of the time, at least at home. This outfit fits his
non traditional personality as well as his rough/manly military

Chromium-6 Research Paper
56% of our population in The United States uses tap water on a daily basis. We shower in it,
drink it, cook with it, and water out plants with it. How can we know that our water is safe?
Well, yearly groundwater tests should be taken. Even if they are expensive; it is better to pay the
small amount now, than having to pay millions of dollars for the health expenses of people later.
There is a huge chance that chromium could be in our water; chromium is a chemical that is used
extensively by different industries. For example, it is used to prevent corrosion in pipes (PG E),
leather tanning and electroplating. Electroplating is the process of changing the surface of a metal
to prevent the surface from wearing out; this is widely used on cars,... Show more content on

The EPA issued that the limit for Chromium in drinking wateris 100 parts per billion. But there are
yet to be limits on the amount of Chromium 6 in our drinking water. There is currently no federal
testing mandate, so labs aren t capable of testing local waters. But, not to worry, because
Chromium at certain concentrations could actually be a nutrient. Chromium 6 (Hexavalent
Chromium) in our water is a dangerous to have, but if it is reduced to Chromium 3, it becomes a
nutrient. Research in the 1980 s and early 1990 s has been done in making this reduction of
Chromium 6 to Chromium 3. However, it was also a very expensive process and it was at times
ineffective. This is done by installing a series of pumping wells, extract the water from the aquifer,
and treat it with techniques previously developed for surface waters, this was the pump and treat
method. There is a lot of intervention with the clean water and the contaminated whatever, so the
process of cleaning the contaminated water isn t carried out thoroughly. There are other ways of
cleaning the water; one is letting the aquifers naturally take care of the

  • 4. A Letter to Jessica Dear Jessica: I hope and guess you are doing well in your new area and city, and your recent job is exciting as well. We are doing well here in Washington except for a few issues that have put me into a lot of worry and concern. I believe you do understand the challenges that come with adolescent children and the temptations that they face in life due to the different developments and changes that occur into them, as well as adventurous steps and ideologies that more often can lead them into great trouble and risk. My aim of writing you this letter is to share with you and seek your guidance and opinion about my son Joel, who turned 14 years two months ago. I am deeply worried and concerned that Joel might be involved or has started using drugs due to the differences that I have personally noted and observed in his behaviors and character in the last few months. I have been observing him, and I regret to tell you that this is not the child or boy that we knew him to be. My greatest worry is about his future that may be jeopardized and his education as well in the event that the boy is involved in drug abuse. I am certain that you as a parent you know and understand equally well the impact and pain that a parent experiences and faces seeing a loved one loose direction and ruining his or her future. As the old English adage says, blood is thicker than water; I have every reason to get worried. Joel has found new friends in the neighborhoods that are a little older than him ... In my project, I am going to create a brand which is a womenswear and cosmetic combination brand inspired by Tom Ford. I have chosen Tom Ford is because it is a clothing brand but also with cosmetics, also the design of their clothing were in simple colours and it shows the independent of women. • 8. Yellow In Crime And Punishment The novel Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky is filled with many techniques and images that give it meaning. The techniques and imagery used by Dostoyevsky help develop a deeper meaning throughout and assist in analyzing it. One of these techniques is color imagery, specifically with yellow. The color yellow may seem like an insignificant detail but within this novel it serves a great literary purpose. It is a technique that is used frequently which suggests that this was done on purpose and that there is a relation between the different scenarios yellow is used in. Over time clothes will age and can slowly change colors, so when Raskolnikov first sees the old woman and describes her as wearing yellow clothing, it emphasizes how old Alyona Ivanovna is because her clothes have turned yellow from wearing them so long. This further emphasizes that she has put herself into a life of poverty because not only does she live in a deteriorating apartment but she also wears old clothes. Another example of aging is when Raskolnikov was in the streets and he saw a man staring at him. Raskolnikov decides to follow him through the streets but eventually loses him and ends up wandering into a parlor looking for him. The narrator describes Raskolnikov looking around the parlor and seeing that everything there was as before, the chairs, the looking glass, the yellow sofa and the pictures in the frames (III, VI). Raskolnikov noticed that nothing had changed from the last time he was there. All the furniture was the same and the sofa was yellow which suggests that it was very old and had aged since his last visit. This is significant to the entire novel because aged items are only described with the lower class and people in poverty don t have the ability to buy new things, they have to live with what they have. The assembly and subsequent break up of Pangaea represent a striking example of the effects of plate tectonics acting over geologic time. The story begins with the breakup of the ancient supercontinent of Rodinia 750 million years ago. Plate tectonic processes dispersed the fragments of Rodinia forming a system of ancient continents that existed from the late Proterozoic through much of the Paleozoic. Continued tectonic movement eventually resulted in a set of continental collisions and reformation of the ancient continents into Pangaea. It had always been that some sports are aimed towards the male gender and others towards the females. Gender is defined as an ongoing cultural process that socially constructs differences between men and women. This day in age, men still have more privileges than women do. (Levin, Gail) Hoppers paintings were first hung in retrospective in 1933, Hopper played host just three years later to the first major show of surrealist art in New york. (Levin, Gail) Hopper grew up in Washington Square, and lived there for most of his life. Hopper excelled in creating realistic pictures of clear cut, sunlit streets and houses, often without figures. (Levin, Gail) He offers a brand of realism not bound to reality, and the places he depicts are familiar and foreign, comfortable and disquieting, said the USA Times. The paintingresides in the Art institute of Chicago. Nighthawks just like many of Hoppers paintings give a feeling of loneliness, and isolation as well as a feeling of darkness due to the dark hues. The picture leaves the viewer with thousands of words and interpretations with a third person view of an isolated man as he sits in a small parlor and ponders. The painting was created in 1942, which took place during the time of the great depression. Hopper frequently chose to give his paintings discreet and dark feelings. Dark hues were used to give a feeling of darkness contrasted with bright lights from inside the parlor. A Summary Of The Homeland Security Act Of 2002 A Summary of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 ASCI 254 12/12/14 Ryan Hoffman Abstract The Homeland Security Act of 2002 is a far reaching act of legislation that was created in the wake of the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. The bill was sponsored by Richard Armey of Texas and received final congressional approval on November 19th, 2002, and signed into law by President George W. Bush on November 25th, 2002. The Homeland Security Act was one of the largest government responses to the terrorist attacks on 9/11, creating an entirely new department, the Department of Homeland Security under the Executive Branch. The Act also created hundreds of new positions within already existing government departments. The act has been amended a multitude of times since its original passage and over two different Presidential Administrations. Many citizens are still split on the decision whether or not the Homeland Security Act has helped make Americans safer, or if it was the beginning of many government intrusions of citizen s privacy. Either way, it is an act of legislation that is here to stay, and as citizens it is important to understand it and how it affects the lives of American citizens. In the wake of September 11th, 2001, Americans both young and old were in desperate need for answers: Who did this? Why did they do this? How could this happen? • 16. The Mind And Brain Work One of Smarts main points is that a man is a vast arrangement of physical particles, but not, over and above this, sensations or state of consciousness. (Pg.584). What I took from this point was that Smart was trying to express that the mind isn t some sort of thing that exists separate from the brain. The mindat most exists within the brain but isn t some kind of physical thing or separate existence within us. I believe that the mind and brain work together and have a connection but they do not exist as the same thing. If everything were just measurable brain processes we would all act and feel the exact same way about every experience. We wouldn t use our consciousnessto differ between what is right or wrong when our brain sees and hears different situations. Take putting your hand on a burner for example, our brain tells us to put our hand on a burner, and we register that we are feeling pain and that it is painful but without or consciousness and our mind we wouldn t register to tell our brains to pull our hand away. Our mind takes experiences we have lived through to create our consciousness about different situations. Our mind is what makes everyone unique and our uniqueness is why we can t measure minds in a scientific manner. Our minds are based on our unique and personal lives. Smart also believes in the theory of Occam s razor (Pg. 584). Occam s razor (Ockham s razor) essentially describes that when considering numerous ideas or theories, the one with the ... In addition to the actualization of women, rap also promotes extreme violence and abuse towards women. Besides the ?mild? abuse the vast majority of rappers perpetually depict, some rappers display a loathing so deep it can only be classified as misogyny. In the song ??97 Bonnie and Clyde,? by Eminem, he says ?There goes mama, splashing in the water. No more fighting with dad, no more restraining order. A large number of behavioral studies provide evidence that demonstrate that faces are processed holistically. Two examples that provide evidences for holistic processing are the composite effect and the part whole effect. In composite effect tasks, participants are required to decide whether two identical top halves are the same (Goffaux Rossion, 2006; Le Grand, Mondloch, Maurer, Brent, 2004; McKone, 2008). Known as the very first film noir, The Maltese Falcon, showcases all the primary elements that make up the genre such as the three main character types composing of the wry private eye, femme fatale, and memorable violent criminals. Dashiell Hammett, author of The Maltese Falcon, had worked for the Pinkerton Detective Agency which gave him ample experience and insight into some unsavory characters. • 30. Persuasive Essay On Political Advertising Political ads can be viewed as annoying, excessive, biased, and unnecessary. This opinion is shared among many people within America with many wanting all ads to stop entirely. Now, are these ads truly needed or are they just to make a candidate look good? Certain strategies used in political campaigns can be confusing and frustrating. However, they can also help bring people together to discuss their opinions and beliefs in order to decide who to support. Political ads can encourage people to come together because of a common cause, improving our nation, and who is the best candidatefor President. Political signs and commercials are one tactic that can be misleading. Many people feel that candidates use bandwagons and endorsements to help them look good and promise immediate changes which are either not possible or can take a long time to achieve. This is like with Mondale Ferraro, who made many different types of images to make him look more popular (Document A). However, these images also help people decide who would be betterfor the job based off of looks, beliefs, and other attributes. I would use these to help make myself stand out from the other candidates by putting in true aspects into my campaign so they do not put false hope into what I stand for. This also helps decide what issues the public focuses on the most based on their beliefs. The candidates running for President try to get rid of the issues the public are concerned about to encourage the public to vote for them. Bandwagons use well known and respected groups of people to influence the public to vote for a candidate because they are doing it. This can be done with several methods, like endorsement, glittering generalities, and even using a spoil system to intrigue people into electing them. This is like the Reagan TV ad where he tried to improve his image with the actions he had promised, which spread with the public (Document B). In addition, it helps clarify what people want most out of a candidate for their benefit, as well as their own benefits. I would use bandwagons, because it helps get other people s attention and make myself popular to others. But these methods can help a candidate who already has a lot of public support. This ... Internal Investigation: Exploration Juan Garcia 11/17/15 Period 2 Problem/Question What is the effect of varying pH solutions on the rate of photosynthesis on the Indian Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) via The Floating Leaf Disc Assay? Background The Indian Lotus is an aquatic plant that is quite popular among cultures as being sacred. It is often used to portray beauty as it grows from the mud unstained and pure. It is also used today in many Asian foods. As such the growth of the Indian Lotus is one that is very important to many cultures and societies. Knowledge of the optimum pH in which the Indian Lotus grows can be significant due to how the pH of the environment the Indian Lotus grows in can vary based upon pollution and other factors. Therefore in the event of high pollution, or any situation that changes the pH of the environment botanists may be able to predict or decipher the effect of that change on the growth of the plants in the area, specifically the Indian Lotus. The experiment can also conclude the extent that pH affects Indian Lotus growth. It may conclude that varying pH has a slight effect on Indian Lotus growth or even the ability to stop it from undergoing photosynthesis completely and kill the organism. The experiment is important in general to find how pH can affect Indian Lotus growth which can in turn affect other aspects such as the diet of locals or lead to even a decrease in Indian Lotus which is culturally significant to cultures and religions. ... Finally we learn that Sheila has a bad temper when Eric says, She s got a nasty temper sometimes… (Page5) This is a crucial point, as her temper plays an important part later in the play. Throughout the play the author, JB Priestly uses entrances and exits to dramatically make characters enter or leave scenes. The first entrance (page10) is the inspectors. My first impression of the inspector when he first arrives in the book, is that of a very serious and clever man, a man that takes his work very seriously, we see an example of this when Mr. Birling says, Have a glass of port or a little whiskey? and the Inspector replies, No, thank you, Mr. Birling. I m on duty. This shows that he abides by the rules or his work. I think that the other characters where a little bit surprised at the news of an inspector arriving, as one would be if an unexpected inspector arrived. This is shown when Mr. Birling says, An inspector? What kind of inspector? Sheila makes the next dramatic move (page21), this time an exit, when she runs out of the room after seeing a picture of Eva Smith. The inspector shows her the photo and she runs away as we can see here, He produces the photograph. This breaks my heart every time I see this commercial or hear the song playing on the radio. There are many millions of animals that are unloved, neglected and abandoned in shelters each year because people do not participate in getting their animals spayed or neutered or the animals are over bred for profit. Animal overcrowding in shelters is only one reason of many as to why pet owners should spay or neuter their pets, but it is the most important reason of all. Shelters all over the United States are past the overcrowded level and even dog rescue groups are finding it harder and harder everyday to find homes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When you think about all these situations, the amount of animals in a shelter can rapidly increase every day, and this is very sad that we have done this to our furry friends . Spaying and neutering your animal can not only help with the overcrowding in shelters but can actually be beneficial to your home and pets. Male dogs and cats when un neutered have a tendency to mark their property. When they mark their territory it can lead to a very unpleasant smell in and around your home. Have you ever walked a dog and noticed them peeing frequently on fire hydrants, trees, corners or certain sections in the yard? This would be your male animal stating that he is a male. When you neuter your male animal, this behavior decreases and thus you can have a cleaner smelling house. Also, it is a recognizes concept amongst pet owners that getting your animal fixed can help with behavioral issues such as aggression, dominance, and also sexual arousal around a female animal. Female dogs and cats go into a heat cycle, similar to that of a female human. Their cycle causes them to bleed for about two weeks and can make quite the mess if you are not planning for it. Also, spaying can help with the females behavior as well; they mellow down and are less fussy. If you re a female you know that when you re on your cycle you can be temperamental, it s the same for female dogs and cats.
