Family Systems Theory Analysis
Family Theories
As an Advanced Practice Nurse there will usually be a certain course of action that takes place
when a patient comes in and describes a problem they are having physically, but there are many
different ways in which that patient will take that course of action. This paper will discuss two
different theories, the Social Learning theory and the Family Systems theory, with the intent that the
person may change the way they look at the prescribed action and why.
The Social Learning theory was created by Albert Bandura in 1971 and is an effective way to
engage all types of different people and help them to acclimate to the learning environment
(Williams, 2017). The social learning theory uses modeling as the focal point of the theory.... Show

Another weakness is that the social learning theory doesn t take into account that what one person
may perceive as a punishment, another may see as a reward.
The Family Systems theory is the second theory that I will be discussing. The Family Systems
theory created by Dr.Murray Bowen and Dr. Michael Kerr and states that the family is an emotional
unit and that the members of the family are connected emotionally (Haefner, 2014). In the Family
systems theory there are eight concepts that the author uses: triangles, differentiation of s elf,
nuclear family emotional process, family projection process, multigenerational transmission
process, emotional cutoff, sibling position and societal emotional process (Kerr, Bowen, 1988).
Within these eight concepts are different ways in which the family operates emotionally within the
unit. When the family is cohesive and cooperative the unit is secure, but when tension mounds, this
can lead to problems and the emotional connectedness of the family becomes stressed (Kerr,
Bowen, 1988). The eight concepts in the Family systems theory can either be separate or
interlocking depending on the heightened tension and situation. Some common examples of the
concepts interlocking include: depression, alcoholism, affairs, or physical illness (Kerr, Bowen,

Straight Outta Silhouette Film Analysis
The Women s Gender and Sexuality Studies department presented, the movie, Straight Outta
Compton to raise awareness on racism, sexism, and oppression. The two hour event was hosted by
Malia Lee Womack and Sarah Mamo inside of an Ohio State University lecture room. During the
event, Straight Outta Compton was played and there was a discussion after the film about the
themes in the film. Some questions brought up in the discussion were Racismis reoccurring in the
film and that includes police brutality, in what ways is it similar to current situations in the United
States considering the Black Lives Matter movement? , and How are women portrayed in the film?

Also, they were searched for drugs and spat on by police just because of their skin color. When
NWA made music that discussed the unfairness of the justice system and the endless oppression
they were going through, the police attempted to shut them down. This was because the
government was afraid their behavior of making law enforcement look bad would cause chaos,
but the police did not realize the emotional chaos they placed on people of color. Now, it is clear
to see how racism in this film relates back to WGSST 1110 because in week three we began talking

Tree Vipers Research Paper
Imagine that you are in a huge forest as a survivor from a big plane crash that crashed on an
island with not much supplies to survive. Once you have gotten used to the island you gathered
some food and some wood and other supplies for the night. Suddenly, a Tree Viper is right
behind and is seconds away from biting you and you don t even notice it. CHOMP! You have
been bitten and you have nothing to do to save you. Your only option is to sit there and slowly
and painfully. The snakes by the name of Tree Vipers are members of two families named the
Crotaliadae family and the Viperidae family. Their adaptation to tree life has created changes in
both their behavior and their body structure. There are three similar kinds of Vipers named the

Moisture off of leaves is their primary source of drinking water. While some species prefer the
canopy of the tropical forests, others may live just a few feet off the ground. The home that the
Tree Viper lives in is mostly like a big forest filled with lots of plants and big trees. Large venom
glands are located behind the eyes on their distinct heads. Fangs are folded against the roof of the
mouth when not being used. During a bite the fangs are extended. Venom glands are voluntarily
contracted to force strong venom through long hollow fangs. Baby Tree Vipers are hatched from
egg membranes during the rainy season. The young snake slits the egg membrane with its egg
tooth at the moment of birth. As the babies are born, they actively grasp for the security of a
branch. At birth the young Tree Vipers weigh under a quarter of an ounce and are about 6 inches
long. The baby Tree Vipers take care of themselves from birth. Tree Vipers are active at both
nighttime and daytime. Tree Vipers live in cold and wet weather. The Tree Vipers favorite thing to

Values of a Noble Roman Funeral Procession (According to...
In book VI of Polybius Histories (53 54), it covers a funeral procession as a form to educate and
teach Roman youths. Various values and qualities range throughout this extract, and these values
reflect the lives of the Roman Society , such values would include; Passion, Nobility, Immortality,
Excellence, etc. These values of the funeral procession are produced in the text, as a way to
inspire the youth of Rome. However certain historians are suspicious when it comes to Polybius
point of view on Roman Society. Historians believe this because of many reasons, which in turn
include; being biased in the favour of the Romans, and it is noteworthy to say that Polybius isn t

Meaning that to be noble your family had to be noble, and any break in the three generations
could deny him of nobility. Although all of these values are in fact seen in the Roman Society
by other sources, Polybius as a source may be inaccurate. Some historians have noted Polybius to
been seen as being argumentative to some of the subject material. They believe that Polybius
cannot be seen as impartial or a neutral character in relation towards this type of thing . Polybius
is quoted in chapter 56 of Book VI saying; the laws and customs relating to the acquisition of
wealth are better in Rome than at Carthage. At Carthage nothing which results in profit is regarded
as disgraceful and the quality in which the Roman commonwealth is most distinctly superior is in
my opinion the nature of their religious convictions... among many other examples, even of that
found in the extract, including the numerous usages of the Roman values of society as a means to
manipulate public opinion and persuade them to become more Roman esque and patriotic, in the
interest of their country. So to conclude; given the extract of Polybius Histories, Book VI (53 54),
in respect to his view on the Roman funeral procession. It is used as an educational tool for Roman
youth. Polybius does this by using various and numerous core values in which he hopes to inspire

Dissociative Identity Disorder ( Dissociative Disorder )
Dissociative Identity Disorder is a disorder distinguished by the existence of two or more
distinct personality states. It is also known as DID or Multiple Personality Disorder. It is very
rare, with only 20,000 to 200,000 known US cases per year. Currently, there is no known cure,
but treatment can sometimes help. Many believe that DID can be caused by a significant trauma
and is used as a coping mechanism to help avoid bad memories. The disorders most often form in
kids victim to long term physical, sexual or emotional abuse or, sometimes just a home
environment that s frightening or highly unpredictable. The stress of war or natural disasters close
by also can bring on dissociative disorders.
Dissociative identity disorder is characterized by the presence of two or more distinct personalities.
Each may have a unique name, personal history, and characteristics. The behavioral aspects are:
impulsivity, self destructive behavior, or self harm Mood: anxiety, feeling detached from self, or
mood swings. The psychological aspects consist of: altered consciousness, depression, or
flashbacks. Also common: amnesia or blackout. The only treatment is talk therapy. The therapies
are: cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy, psychotherapy. Dissociative Identity Disorder is
often confused with Schizophrenia, but they are very different. Schizophrenia is a violent mental
illness involving chronic psychosis, made distinctive mainly by hearing or seeing hallucinations

A Formal Analysis Of Death Mask Based On Gold Death Mask...
A Formal Analysis of Death Mask Based on Gold Death Mask from Mycenae, Grave Circle A,
Shaft Grave IV circa 1550 BC
The Greek Exhibition section of The Royal Ontario Museum houses this replica, one made by an
unknown artist, of an original, gold funeral mask said to be a depiction of the face of the
Mycenaean King, Agamemnon. Known widely as the Death Mask of Agamemnon, the original
artefact dates to 1550 BC, which corresponds with the Greek Bronze Age when metals were
being worked due to technological advancements in various urban societies of the world. It is a
marvel of craftsmanship as much as of cultural and technological prowess of that age since the
original was made from a single sheet of almost pure gold.
Discovered in a burial site labelled Grave Circle A, shaft Grave IV on the citadel of Mycenae by an
archaeologist named Henrich Schliemann (1876), the original mask has been claimed to belong
to the grave of King Agamemnon of Mycenae. This claim has since been questioned for it verity
since the grave was likely dug as much as three centuries before Agamemnon is thought to have
lived and ruled. Nevertheless, the death mask has an aura of romance and mystery about it since it
reveals so much about the cultural and social practices of the civilization of Mycenae, who like
other ancients such as the Egyptians made funerary masks for their powerful and wealthy dead.
The original of this mask, made as it is with such finely sculpted and etched detail out of a thin sheet

Requirement 1: a) Permanent earnings is the reported earnings component that is value relevant.
Permanent earnings are those earnings that are expected to continue into the future. This
component roughly corresponds to income from continuing operations as reported in the income

b) Transitory earnings is the earnings component that is value relevant, but not expected to persist
into the future. This component roughly corresponds to income from discontinued operations and

Without a detailed examination of the financial reporting practices and related disclosures of each
company, it is difficult to draw conclusions about the degree to which the P/E ratio differences
might be related to differences in earnings quality. Concerns about earnings quality have
occasionally surfaced in financial press articles on each company.
Absent information about investors earnings quality concerns, it is likely to be the case that most
of the variation in P/E ratios is due to differences in growth opportunities and (to a lesser extent)
risk.
Requirement 2: The firms in Group B are all from the same industry grocery chains so there is
less variation in P/E ratios among these firms than was the case for firms in Group A.
Kroger, Pantry, and Safeway have P/E ratios that are quite close to one another. These companies
are large, financially strong, and already have numerous U.S. locations. While new locations are

How Dopamine Works Human Body
How Dopamine works in Human Body 1. Dopamine 2. Drugs 3. Dopamine Deficiency 4. Dopamine
Treatments
Introduction Pleasure, happiness, love, excitation, motivation, pain, anxiety, sad, anger, and all
emotional feelings related to human being are linked to the chemicals and hormones that reach
to the brain. The human body needs to function properly using the chemicals, hormones and
fluids to be found in balance. This state of being balanced is called homeostasis . If one or more
of these chemicals fall out of balance from either an increase or a decrease in their levels, this
may cause the systems of the body to work less efficiently. Moreover, chemical imbalances can
occur for a number of reasons and may affect the body in a variety of ways. There are many
internal and external factors that cause chemical imbalance in human body as well human brain.
This paper focuses on one of the chemicals secreted by brain, dopamine, and the external organic
elements that affect its secretion and function throughout the brain and body.
Dopamine
Dopamine is one of the organic chemical compounds secreted by the brain. It is mainly produced in

Identify The Different Types Of Retainers
We all know that one day those braces will come off. At that time your orthodontist creates your
new retainer. We all know the retainer is an important part of the teeth straightening process. If you
do not wear the retainer prescribed by your orthodontist, your teeth will go back to their earlier
placement. Your teethwill line up exactly as they looked before you got braces. Your teeth are held
in place by periodontal ligaments. It takes a long time for the periodontal ligaments to adjust when
the teeth are straightened. Therefore, orthodontists created retainers to keep your teeth straight, in
perfect alignment. Basically, your orthodontist has a choice of three different types of retainers As
a patients this is not something you get to choose; the orthodontist chooses the best retainer for
each patient. Some of the retainers are removable and others are permanently attached. Retainers
which are permanently attached can only be removed by the orthodontist.... Show more content on

piece of wire used to keep your teeth in perfect alignment. The acrylic retainer is easily removed. It
can easily be altered or customized; just incase those perfectly aligned teeth start to move out of
alignment. This is the most common retainer, preferred by many

Persuasive Essay On Seatbelts
Seat Belts and School Busses The question we all should be asking ourselves is if its illegal for
you and your child to not wear a seatbelt in a vehicle? Then why would I put my child on a bus
without a seat bealt? By law the bus driver wears a seatbelt but your young child is sitting in the
seat right behind them without a seatbelt, or a car seat. In my opinion we should have seatbelts on
the school buss. If there s not as many accidents reported for school busses then seatbelts shouldn t
be a problem on school busses. Recently the news has been full of school busaccidents where
children have been seriously injured or killed. Those who are for seat belts in school buses are

A school bus skids on black ice, leaves the road and rolls into the ditch on its side. All 55 students
on board are belted. The gas tank ruptures and there is danger of fire and explosion. The frantic
bus driver begins to help students out of their seat belts. She opens the emergency exit and
encourages the children she has helped to exit the bus. Other drivers stop and try to help the
children to safety. Fire erupts. The driver and half of the children are trapped inside the bus.
This last scenario is bleak but it could happen. One driver cannot be held responsible for getting
so many students out of seat belts should a tragic accident occur. Are students safer in a school
bus if they are belted in? It all depends on the circumstances. Let s look at some other pros and
cons of seat belts in school buses.
Pros
Education children to buckle up.
Seat belts often prevent litigation.
Using seat belts improves behavior on school buses.
Installation of seat belts in school buses would cost less than $2.00 per child a small price to pay
to prevent serious injury or death.
Seat belts prevent students from being thrown out of their seats if their bus is involved in an

Cons
School buses have an excellent safety record. Therefore seat belts are not a necessary

Strategic Management Of Apple Inc. And Samsung Group
Strategic Management of Apple Inc. and Samsung Group Analyze Apple and Samsung domestic
and global environments, industry, internal capabilities, mission and vision. Apple and Samsung,
actually, considered as pioneers in technological industry. Every company has chosen different
business strategies and models within the marketplace. Apple releases few but highly
anticipated high end products while Samsung inundates the market with a wide variety of
products. In the beginning, Apple was very careful about its mobile and tablet releases by
originally allowing for long development cycles that grow anticipation and showcased new
innovations with each new release under Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs, one of the original founders
and innovation of Apple Inc, used non cooperative strategy which means he did not want to share
the company s software with any other companies. He wanted total exclusion of Apple s software
and hardware products. In this way, he gave his companies a competitive advantage because the
focus is to satisfy the customer need that no other competition can satisfy which allows the
company to have higher prices for their products. Promoting innovation is a big advantage for
businesses although the failure rate of the innovation of new products is high (Hill Jones,

The Safety Of A Food Supply
The stability of a food supply is often the most important thing a society can offer to its people.
However, in a changing global environment filled with bacteria, viruses, and disease, scientists
and farmers have continually tried to find ways to make food safer for consumers. The normal way
currently is to use pesticides and preservatives to keep diseases at bay and keep foodfrom going bad
and possibly causing harm to those who eat it. Some researchers, however, are still looking for
safer and more effective ways to preserve food, and the idea of food irradiationhas been around
since the early 1900 s. Anything involving radiation often scared consumers and makes them not
trust the quality of the food, because they do not believe that... Show more content on

The FDA greatly expanded the use of food irradiation in the year 1986, even though it was already
used for things such as wheat, flour, and potatoes. Before this time, radiation was thought of in
food terms as an additive, not a process the food must go through. In fact, by 1988, some nineteen
major countries had laws in place that allowed for certain foods to be irradiated to help better
preserve them. The world is beginning to realize this form of preservation as a viable option, and
the only thing left is for the consumer and the government to decide whether or not this should be a
commonly used method.
Food irradiation has many variables that make it exactly what it is. There are different types of
irradiation that work on different types of food, and accomplish different tasks such as
sterilization, disease prevention, or even acting as an insect repellent. The thing that truly defines
the different types, however, is the type of radiation used. The most effective types include
electron beam radiation, gamma ray radiation, and x ray radiation. Electron beam radiation is the

Subject: Business Improvement Program (Recommendations for Persuade CafГ©)
Dear Jacqueline Marcus, my name is Berlinda Pearson; I have been hired to provide new ideas
and new recommendation for your business improvement program. As you know, Persuade CafГ©
offers unpretentious coffee, tea, espresso drinks, bakery items, whole beans, and T shirts. Although
these products have proven to contribute to the success of Persuade CafГ©, there are some must
needed changes that are necessary to compete with its competitors and sustain a competitive
advantage. Based on the survey results from customers, there were a number of 433 responses to

Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that improper training is coming from various employees.
In order for the CafГ© to become more successful, my recommendation is that they hire a training
team who will train all employees the same way, to eliminate inconsistency. Since employees are
the front line of the CafГ©, it is important that Persuade CafГ© make training a top priority.
пѓ Installation of Wi Fi Free Wi Fi is becoming a prominent customerexpectation, so with that
being said; it will benefit Persuade CafГ©, and will increase the customers time spent on the
premises. Customers will visit more often because they can use their cell phone, tablet, laptop via
Wi Fi. Small businesses, such as Persuade CafГ© might find themselves at a serious competitive
disadvantage it they do not install free Wi Fi.
By implementing these recommendations at Persuade CafГ©, it is my belief that these changes
over a period of time will increase their customer satisfaction, become more inviting and attract new
customers, and increase employee morale. Informing existing customers and future customers of
the upcoming changes should spark some excitement. Implementing changes within a business

Crimes against Humanity Examples in the Nuremberg Trials
Perhaps some of the most popular examples of crimes against humanity are those that were
investigated during the Nuremberg trials, which took position from 1945 to 1949. The very
objective of these 13 trials was to try Nazi Party officials, and also the German doctors, and
businessmen, lawyers who were linked with them, for the crimes they had done against humanity
during WWII. The trials became historic for buildup precedent in how international courts should
deal with facts like genocide and other examples of crimes against humanity.
These crimes start shortly after Adolf Hitler rose to power in Germany in 1933. With the Nazi
government, Hitler made and carried out policies designed to persecute the Jews, and anyone else
that he suppose to be a threat to his vision of a perfect Nazi state. Hitler s policies continued to
become more and more threat until World War II at last ended in 1945. By that point, it is
estimated that the Nazis had, with the grant of their government, killed approximately six million
Jews, and between four and six million non Jews.
The trials of the Major War Criminals, heard the cases of twenty four individuals who were accused
on charges of crimes against humanity. Also, six Nazi

Reflective Essay On Civil Rights
During our time in class, we discussed several themes pertaining to the rights and freedoms of the
LGBTQ community, and spoke at length about some of the landmark cases that helped to give
the community the liberties that they enjoy today. In order to better understand the struggle that
the community had to endure in order to achieve these rights, we will review several different
cases and tie them to things we learned in class, analyzing the roles that they played in achieving
progress in various fields that were once dangers for members of this group. By understanding
some of the landmark legal actions that were made in the quest for equal rights, perhaps then we
can more fully understand the extent of the obstacles that they have overcome. And not all of these
cases go in their favor, either, showing that even at the highest echelons of the American legal
system, there have been and still continue to be significant prejudices which must be faced day in
and day out. The most important step forward in the timeline of LGBTQ rights was the acceptance
that homosexual acts were, in fact, not crimes, and that homosexuals could live in the open
without fear of repercussion from the law. In class, we discussed the case of Bowers v. Hardwick,
which upheld the constitutionality of sodomy laws and effectively criminalized homosexual
relations until the 2003 case of Lawrence v. Texas, which reversed the decision. Just two years after
the decision in Lawrence v Texas came down,

Essay on Trump Hotel and Tower Chicago
With Trumps decision to build a new skyscraper in Chicago, architectural company Skidmore,
Owings and Merrill had their work cut out for them. They needed to design a building that matched
the expectations of not only Donald Trump but also the city of Chicago. Trump International Hotel
and Tower forever changed the Chicagoskyline. Trump Tower was the tallest building built in the
United States since the Sears Tower also located in Chicago. This luxury building offers only the

It was very hard to get the design of the tower approved by the public because many believed that
the tower did not match Chicago architecture. To solve this controversy, architects took the
neighboring buildings and the natural setting into consideration when designing the tower. Blair
Kamin explained that the tower is a building whose form derives not from its internal structure as
many other Chicago skyscrapers do, but from its relationship to its external setting. Clear glass was
used to enhance the whiteness of the neighboring Wrigley Building. Designers also built Trump
Tower to have as many views of the Chicago River as possible. The river runs along the south side
of the building. Troubles also arose when deciding the height of the tower. Donald Trump explains
that prior to September 11, we had plans for a building of approximately 150 stories ( Trump
International ). After the events of September 11, the height of the tower was lowered to 92 stories.
This change eliminated many of the office spaces that had been in the original design.
Walking into the tower one cannot overlook the beautiful interior design. From the floors to the
ceiling the design team went all out on insuring that Trump Tower would impress even the
wealthiest of guests. Designers chose zebra wood, Italian marble and French limestone on the
floors of the hotel. Although these materials are no doubt exquisite, the use of zebrawood struck
up some controversy. Zebrawood is a species of wood

Columbus made four different voyages to what the world now knows as America, he wanted to find

Columbus contribution to the world is one that will affect the world for years and years.
Columbus grew up in a medieval world exhausted by war and bigotries, religious corruption and
intolerance, a time of widespread spiritual dissolution and social pessimism, a continent deeply
in need of a rebirth (Heat Moon 5). The era of which Columbus lived in was really in need of a
make over. The way people acted, their decisions, and their religion were not acceptable to any
standard. That time period was very boring and depressing and it was difficult to be happy. There
were so many wars that it was destroying the world. Columbus crossing is the determining, the
unique, event leading up to the greatest discovery in history (Taviani 90). Without Columbus
discovery, we wouldn t have discovered the Americas until much later. England

The Burden Of Responsibility In The Lord Of The Rings
The Burden Of Responsibility
By:Yeh In Kang
Enduring the burden of responsibility can lead people to positive outcomes. This theme is
demonstrated by Peter Jackson, Philippa Boyens and Fran Walsh in The Lord Of The Rings:
The Fellowship Of The Ring through the responsibility of companionship that is carried by
Samwise Gamgee. He is caught eavesdropping on Frodo and Gandalf, when he is caught Gandalf
tells him to accompany Frodo on his journey. This Responsibility that is placed upon him is
initially seen by him, as a chance to go on an adventure but he must take care of Frodo, this burden

Gandalf is startled by a rustling in the hedge and discovers Sam eavesdropping on their

when he stops Frodo from putting the ring on, in doing so he single handedly save the hobbits from
the Ringwraiths. The screenwriters is demonstrating that the responsibility bestowed upon Sam is

Water Fashion Essay
Water Fashion In this day and age, the metaphorical pastor of American culture no longer preaches
patience. This is due, in part, to our rapid economic development, boosting the U.S. into the fifth
stage of Rostow s model for economic development; the Age of Mass Consumption (this model
entails that a country begins in poverty, introduces varying levels of industry, becomes
economically self sufficient, and, in the final stage, outsources all industry to developing countries).
The Age of Mass Consumption is just as deadly as it sounds, incurring insatiable demand for cheap
labor, and therefore a wasteful popular mindset. And so ensues consumerism, the love child of
social media and cheap manufacturing. Consumerism bears it s own dangerous children, including
but not limited to genetically modified organisms, pesticides, Costco, smartphones, wireless
Internet, Netflix, and fast fashion. The vast majority of Americans will recognize the
aforementioned phenomenon of pop culture, except perhaps fast fashion . For those unfamiliar
with this phrase, used by fashion retailers, refers to clothing that is designed to emulate current

Minimum Fuel Drop Rule
It s without a doubt that the feature race at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide was one of the craziest V8
Supercars races to date, however I seem to be one of the few labelling it Crazy rather than a Joke .
So I shall explain why it is not a complete joke.
While their was a lot of confusion over the race start, I will focus on the fuel drop rule instead.
The Facts: During certain races there is a required amount of fuel that must be put into the car
during the race, this is often referred to the as the minimum fuel drop . The rule came about as a
way to combat the engine disparity that was found amongst manufacturers early on in the Car Of

NP: No I don t think so. The rule is there to give all engine manufactures a even playing field.
JP: Do you think the rule should be scaled so the required fuel drop is in proportion to the actual
race distance?
NP: It should be scaled but at the Clipsal 500 all the teams knew the rule, so if they all took the
approach of getting the fuel in, many of them wouldn t have been penalised.
JP: What did you think when you emerged as the leader in the final phase of the race?

car and just needed to keep it clean. The final lap was amazing. I was taking it all in and enjoying
the battle with Fabian. I wasn t sure if he was right on fuel, I was told he was so I was racing him

Any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, as love or hate:

Examples Of Neutralism In My Brother Sam Is Dead
Neutrality in War: Tim s Decision In war, is freedom more valuable than life? For example, at
the time of the Revolutionary War, people had to choose between liberty or life. When the
colonies decided to break away from the tyrannical rule of King George the Third, sides had to be
chosen. The Patriots, who wanted independence, fought for justice and liberation while the
Loyalists wished to stand with Britain. Some chose not to stand on either side and remained
neutral. Through threats and violent attacks, people were forced to choose a side. In the novel My
Brother Sam Is Dead, it describes the different viewpoints and decisions of a character who decides
to stay neutral in the war. The ironic deaths of Ned, Life, and Sam induces Tim to be neutral in the

to November 2013. Following a seed pre germination period of 72 hours in the dark (25В°C), all
treatments were planted in 2.5 L pots filled with a nitrogen free substrate of fine quartz sand. The
authors disposed the pots in rows with 15 cm inter rows. They further fertigated the growing plants
every two hours with a complete nutrient solution, excluding nitrogen. Similarly to their first

time, they used six treatments per block: 1) alive alfalfaand tall fescue; 2) dead alfalfa and tall

Major Depressive Disorder
Major Depressive Disorder: Depression is a clinical condition associated with the normal emotions
of bereavement and sadness. However, this condition does not pass on when the external causes of
these emotions dissolve and is usually inconsistent to their cause. In essence, the classic severe
conditions of depressionhave not been attributed to external precipitating cause. One of the most
common conditions of depression is Major Depressive Disorder(MDD), which is a psychiatric
condition that impairs moods, behavioral patterns, and thoughts for a protracted duration. This
psychiatric illness tends to impair the patient s social functioning and quality of life due to its
impacts on cognitive functioning. Some of the most common symptoms of the condition include
difficulty in concentration, weight change, minimal interest in pleasure, high rate of suicide, and
physical impairment. The severity of this disease was evident in the year 2000 when the World

Emerson s poem Concord Hymn was written about the Battle of Lexington and Concord. Although
this poem is not a good answer on who shot first during this battle, it does open the idea about the

What happened at the Battle of Lexington and Concord? Though it has been called a battle, it was

Volume 7, Number 3 (2009) 2.2.1. Absolute Standards One group of appraisal methods use
absolute standard. This means that employees compare to a standard, and their evaluation is

the following methods: the essay appraisal, the critical incident appraisal, the checklist, the

Family Systems Theory Analysis Family Theories As an Advanced Practice Nurse there will usually be a certain course of action that takes place when a patient comes in and describes a problem they are having physically, but there are many different ways in which that patient will take that course of action. This paper will discuss two different theories, the Social Learning theory and the Family Systems theory, with the intent that the person may change the way they look at the prescribed action and why. Another weakness is that the social learning theory doesn t take into account that what one person may perceive as a punishment, another may see as a reward. The Family Systems theory is the second theory that I will be discussing. The Family Systems theory created by Dr.Murray Bowen and Dr. Michael Kerr and states that the family is an emotional unit and that the members of the family are connected emotionally (Haefner, 2014). In the Family systems theory there are eight concepts that the author uses: triangles, differentiation of s elf, nuclear family emotional process, family projection process, multigenerational transmission process, emotional cutoff, sibling position and societal emotional process (Kerr, Bowen, 1988). Within these eight concepts are different ways in which the family operates emotionally within the unit. When the family is cohesive and cooperative the unit is secure, but when tension mounds, this can lead to problems and the emotional connectedness of the family becomes stressed (Kerr, Bowen, 1988). The eight concepts in the Family systems theory can either be separate or interlocking depending on the heightened tension and situation. Some common examples of the concepts interlocking include: depression, alcoholism, affairs, or physical illness (Kerr, Bowen, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fangs are folded against the roof of the mouth when not being used. During a bite the fangs are extended. Venom glands are voluntarily contracted to force strong venom through long hollow fangs. Baby Tree Vipers are hatched from egg membranes during the rainy season. The young snake slits the egg membrane with its egg tooth at the moment of birth. As the babies are born, they actively grasp for the security of a branch. At birth the young Tree Vipers weigh under a quarter of an ounce and are about 6 inches long. A Formal Analysis of Death Mask Based on Gold Death Mask from Mycenae, Grave Circle A, Shaft Grave IV circa 1550 BC The Greek Exhibition section of The Royal Ontario Museum houses this replica, one made by an unknown artist, of an original, gold funeral mask said to be a depiction of the face of the Mycenaean King, Agamemnon. Known widely as the Death Mask of Agamemnon, the original artefact dates to 1550 BC, which corresponds with the Greek Bronze Age when metals were being worked due to technological advancements in various urban societies of the world. It is a marvel of craftsmanship as much as of cultural and technological prowess of that age since the original was made from a single sheet of almost pure gold. Discovered in a burial site labelled Grave Circle A, shaft Grave IV on the citadel of Mycenae by an archaeologist named Henrich Schliemann (1876), the original mask has been claimed to belong to the grave of King Agamemnon of Mycenae. This claim has since been questioned for it verity since the grave was likely dug as much as three centuries before Agamemnon is thought to have lived and ruled. Nevertheless, the death mask has an aura of romance and mystery about it since it reveals so much about the cultural and social practices of the civilization of Mycenae, who like other ancients such as the Egyptians made funerary masks for their powerful and wealthy dead. The FDA greatly expanded the use of food irradiation in the year 1986, even though it was already used for things such as wheat, flour, and potatoes. Before this time, radiation was thought of in food terms as an additive, not a process the food must go through. In fact, by 1988, some nineteen major countries had laws in place that allowed for certain foods to be irradiated to help better preserve them. The world is beginning to realize this form of preservation as a viable option, and the only thing left is for the consumer and the government to decide whether or not this should be a commonly used method. Food irradiation has many variables that make it exactly what it is. There are different types of irradiation that work on different types of food, and accomplish different tasks such as sterilization, disease prevention, or even acting as an insect repellent. The thing that truly defines the different types, however, is the type of radiation used. The most effective types include electron beam radiation, gamma ray radiation, and x ray radiation. Electron beam radiation is the shortest in terms of time needed to irradiate the food, but it also does not penetrate very deep, only about half a centimeter. • 24. Reflective Essay On Civil Rights During our time in class, we discussed several themes pertaining to the rights and freedoms of the LGBTQ community, and spoke at length about some of the landmark cases that helped to give the community the liberties that they enjoy today. In order to better understand the struggle that the community had to endure in order to achieve these rights, we will review several different cases and tie them to things we learned in class, analyzing the roles that they played in achieving progress in various fields that were once dangers for members of this group. By understanding some of the landmark legal actions that were made in the quest for equal rights, perhaps then we can more fully understand the extent of the obstacles that they have overcome. And not all of these cases go in their favor, either, showing that even at the highest echelons of the American legal system, there have been and still continue to be significant prejudices which must be faced day in and day out. The most important step forward in the timeline of LGBTQ rights was the acceptance that homosexual acts were, in fact, not crimes, and that homosexuals could live in the open without fear of repercussion from the law. In class, we discussed the case of Bowers v. Hardwick, which upheld the constitutionality of sodomy laws and effectively criminalized homosexual relations until the 2003 case of Lawrence v. Texas, which reversed the decision. Just two years after the decision in Lawrence v Texas came down, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They needed to design a building that matched the expectations of not only Donald Trump but also the city of Chicago. Trump International Hotel and Tower forever changed the Chicagoskyline. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was very hard to get the design of the tower approved by the public because many believed that the tower did not match Chicago architecture. To solve this controversy, architects took the neighboring buildings and the natural setting into consideration when designing the tower. Blair Kamin explained that the tower is a building whose form derives not from its internal structure as many other Chicago skyscrapers do, but from its relationship to its external setting. Clear glass was used to enhance the whiteness of the neighboring Wrigley Building. Designers also built Trump Tower to have as many views of the Chicago River as possible. The river runs along the south side of the building. Troubles also arose when deciding the height of the tower. Donald Trump explains that prior to September 11, we had plans for a building of approximately 150 stories ( Trump International ). After the events of September 11, the height of the tower was lowered to 92 stories. This change eliminated many of the office spaces that had been in the original design. Walking into the tower one cannot overlook the beautiful interior design. From the floors to the ceiling the design team went all out on insuring that Trump Tower would impress even the wealthiest of guests. Designers chose zebra wood, Italian marble and French limestone on the floors of the hotel. Although these materials are no doubt exquisite, the use of zebrawood struck up some controversy. • 29. Water Fashion Essay Water Fashion In this day and age, the metaphorical pastor of American culture no longer preaches patience. This is due, in part, to our rapid economic development, boosting the U.S. into the fifth stage of Rostow s model for economic development; the Age of Mass Consumption (this model entails that a country begins in poverty, introduces varying levels of industry, becomes economically self sufficient, and, in the final stage, outsources all industry to developing countries). The Age of Mass Consumption is just as deadly as it sounds, incurring insatiable demand for cheap labor, and therefore a wasteful popular mindset. And so ensues consumerism, the love child of social media and cheap manufacturing. The Facts: During certain races there is a required amount of fuel that must be put into the car during the race, this is often referred to the as the minimum fuel drop .
