An overview
A field that has seen rapid growth in the last few decades is child therapy. Unlike
adult therapy which can be as simple as a conversation between peers, child therapy
presents a variety of new barriers. One barrier faced by child therapists is
understanding behaviors that come from individuals on a different developmental
level than themselves. Techniques and conversations that can be readily applied to
adults by therapists are lost on children. Additionally with disorders that effect
communication and connection, all attempts previously used would be null and void.
Unfortunately, the individuals who would benefit from therapy the most are the ones
who present these barriers. In an effort to make up for these deficits, play therapy
was introduced as a way to transcend language barriers and aid the child in becoming
self aware on their own.
Using the historically noted context of the importance of play, many therapists
have refined and structured this natural language and have been able to facilitate
desirable change for a variety of issues. The rest of this paper aims at providing the
reader with a proficient overview of play therapy. The benefits, history, credentials,
inner workings, and role of the family will be examined. Classical cases, as well as
individual case studies, and larger scale findings will be examined, and the role and
credentials of the therapist outlined.

The Ways Of The Heart Of A Man
I always see and hear much advice to women about men and how we think, what
we want, and what makes us do the things we do. You know those articles you see
at the grocery stores while you are in line waiting to check out. Magazines and books
with some of the most interesting titles such as: One hundred ways to please a man, or
32 Ways into a Man s Heart, or What Men Want Most in a Woman?
My personal favorite is Seven Ways into the Heart of a Man. Of course, six of
those ways include food and the number one essential element they usually end on
is SEX. Now while these are some key essentials in a man s mind that does not even
scratch the surface on who we are or why we do the things we do.
What troubles me most is that a lot of these articles are written by women, who
never even bothered to ask a man if any of these accusations were accurate. We can
tell that there is no way that the information given was not from the most vital
source of all, God nor from the perspective of any real man. In other words, if you
want to know about us and how we operate, please ask us!
Nowadays, we as men are very much overlooked, generalized, underestimated,
disrespected and given a negative stigma, due to either bad experiences from past
interactions with the wrong types of men or from personal poor decisions. By the

I went to Keiki Hau oli Children s Center preschool room for my prosocial
observation assignment. During my visit, it was indoor free play time, meanwhile
teachers were offering breakfast. The schedule is not rush, they can play indoor and
outdoor with free choices for one hour. First, the room was organized by the section.
Each section has double or multiple amount of toys for children to play with their
friends. For example, on a shelf, there are three baby dolls and their matching clothes.
Children interact each other by asking questions such as, Baby is hungry. What can I
do? Another childsaid, I will show you. She used her baby bottle to pretend feeding
a baby. There is big open floor space in the back of the room for the children to play

One in twelve teenagers in High school are harmed or threatened with a weapon
each year (Teen violence statistics). Youth Violence may not seem like a big
problem, but we are from a small town where most get along. Your small town of
David city doesn t catch the big action like larger cities do. Schools within a bigger
city see a fight on a normal basis, that s normal to them, not realizing that shouldn t be
an everyday thing. The bullying and fighting in them schools is ignored because there
are so many students attending that view the violence as a minor thing.
Youth violence can come in many forms such as bullying, fighting, or even worse
robbery, or assault. Youth violence can be a very big problem but people are not
realizing how big it really is. Young adults can be a victim, an offender, or a
witness. The victim can be harmed in many ways, they could be physically harmed
or mentally. The victim could even lose their life, all because someone wanted to
hurt them. The victim could take their own life because they were repeatedly harmed
physically or mentally. There are so many ways youth violence can take place, youth
violence has gone unseen for too long
People do not realize how far a child that is being bullied will go to seek revenge on
the bully. In 1999 a shooting happened at Columbine High School, two students
walked in to the school with weapons they killed and injured many people before
they took their own lives. This happened because those two kids were bullied and

big of a deal youth violence is, and how far a child who is bullied will take it.
