2. A Research Study On Quantitative Analysis
2.0Research Critique 2.1.1Clarity Clarity refers to the clear view of things, and clear
head that goes with it. The clarity of the research can be defined through journal
replication and finding presentation.
2.1.1.1Journal replication
Replication involves the process of repeating a study using the same methods,
different subjects, and different experimenters. I personally believe that this journal
cannot be replicated due to argument below.
King (1994) explain that in order for a journal to be replicate, it must provide
sufficient information which to understand, evaluate and build upon a prior work if a
third party could replicate the results without any additional information from the
author. This research did not provide ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More discussion on finding is stated in part 2.4 of this assignment. 2.2Theory and
hypothesis 2.2.1Plausibility Wiebe (2010) state that plausibility will bring different
meaning as regard to the purpose of study. In some cases, it has to do with
determining whether a case study is worth conducting; in others, it might mean
determining whether the theory derived from the case makes sense, or whether the
case rings true.
In application for this research, the element of plausibility is obtained. First of all,
whether the case study is worth conducting will lead to different judgement. For
instance, the researchers were too depending on the usage of low response rate of
EECS data sometimes make readers think that it is not worth conducting. In other
part, we try to suit the researcher s condition as the usage of EECS data is needed
due to limitation of resource: money, time, language and etc. By using the EECS data,
at least there is some data obtained to prove the study.
This research able to provide clear hypothesis and it is plausible as their hypothesis
able to give meaning to their research question. The researchers stated clearly on 3
hypotheses they try to achieve even it lead to result that need improvement in their
hypothesis. For instance, the hypothesis result is not too strong. H1 give positive
relation but only in small scale, H2 is not met and H3 only applicable to certain cases.

3. Brand Awareness In Starbucks
Starbucks offers a simple call to action on its Instagram account: Tag your coffee
photos with #Starbucks. This statement alone has encouraged customers to submit
countless creative and eye catching images of their daily lives, with Starbucks
products included in the photo frame. Not only is this is a simple and effective way
to engage customers but it also boosts brandawareness. Like Starbucks, the business
succeed best at Instagram are the ones that call on their customers to build awareness
for the brand by showing what the brand means to their personal lives. Brands can
also utilize Instagram to conduct fan photo competitions where customers can take

Macdonald Sharp, 2003 states that it is a strong influencer in the buying decision
consideration process, as most of the consumers prefer buying brands they are
aware and would like to be confident when making the purchase decision. The cost
of acquiring customers is a significant expense for most businesses so higher brand
awareness will help draw potential customers with little or no costs. Retaining
customers is an even harder process than the former so strong brand loyalty among
the customers will help sustain the business on a long term basis. Popular brands
often use tools like newsletters, promotions, and satisfaction surveys to stay in touch
with their existing to pool of customers in order to maintain brand awareness among
consumers. Brands should also focus on research related to aided and unaided brand
recall as it can help bring down marketing costs significantly while increasing the
management s understanding of the business (Holden, 1993). Aided recall looks at
what thoughts/feelings the customer associates with the brand while unaided recall
looks at what brands of a specific product category the customer can think of without
any prompts. The former helps marketing professionals to focus on building brand
awareness to attract new customers whereas the latter focuses on improving the brand
image among existing customers. Simply put, the more people are aware of the brand
4. Chamber Music Scholarship Essay
As a part of the Hartt Community Division, I am currently participating in a variety
of different ensembles. These include Harmony Winds, a chamber group, and
Concert Choir. Due to this, my family has to pay for three different groups, while
simultaneously paying for the other extra curricular activities that my sister and I
take part in. If I were to receive this scholarship, It would greatly help my family stay
within our budget.
My wish to be in chamber music is a result of my belief that it will help me learn
new and different skills. To start with, I will learn how to play in a small group of
musicians who play the same instrument as me. Subsequently, I will also have
instruction in a setting that is not one on one, nor in a band setting.
5. Sisterhood In Lucy Baker s The Coquette
The bond of female friendship is an important factor in the novel, especially since
Eliza finds herself lonely without the companion of a female friend who might
understand her plight; however, Eliza does not have a friend who understands her
perils. All of the people in her life, with the exception of her mother, find Eliza
beneath them. Eliza s thoughts and actions to some extent and helped the plot of novel
to grow in a significant manner. Baker states that the theme of sisterhood remains
prominent with Foster s work; however, the so called sisterhood is made up of petty,
condemning ladies (Lucy Freeman and Julia Granby) whose idea of friendship
revolves about social status and gossip, even concerning their dear friend (Foster,

Boyer is condescending and demonstrates her idea of an excellent partner (27).
Lucy, like most women at the time, found marriage to be a way of securing a
socially and financially affluent future; her description of Mr. Boyer, whose taste,
manners and morals, are highly regarded, supports the materialism of the time
period. Baker finds that The Coquette is considered a tragic novel in that it depicts
the seduction and fall of a young woman, and the reader can track the tragic
disintegration of Eliza Wharton against her flagging commitment to precision and
clarity in her language, her mode of self expression; however, it seems that Eliza
possesses the intelligence, as well as the sophistication to understand. Foster s
emphasis on the value of language alerts the reader to another movement in the novel,
one that the reader might celebrate: the voice of her society is awakened to its
compromised public voice regarding virtue, honor, and friendship. Eliza s queries on
language throughout the novel are ultimately shifted to her female circle, whose
members recognize the need for their language to reflect more clearly the reality of
their world (Baker,
6. Scientific Progression in Mary Shelley s Frankenstein and...
Mary Shelley s Frankenstein is an early 19th century cautionary tale examining the
dark, self destructive side of human reality and human soul. It is written in the
Romantic era where society greatly valued scientific and technological advancement.
Throughout the novel, Shelley expresses her concerns of extreme danger when man
transgresses science and all ethical values are disregarded. The implications of
debatable experimentation and thriving ambition could evoke on humanity are
explored in the novel. Likewise, Blade Runner, a sci fi film directed by Ridley Scott
in 1982 is a futuristic representation of Los Angeles in 2019. The film reflects its key
widespread fears of its time, particularly the augmentation of globalization,... Show

Similarly, Blade Runner examines the danger of scientific advancement through the
use of film noir elements. An establishing shot of Los Angeles highlights how
scientific evolution has destroyed the environment resulting in an urban wasteland
with a claustrophobic, polluted atmosphere personifying a physical representation of
hell. Dissimilarly, the setting of Frankenstein embodies many romantic values such as
the changes of the seasons, tempest and calm . Overt materialism and globalisation is
shown through commercials of Atari and Coca cola with the backdrop of non
diagetic music. Society values corporate greed derived from scientific discoveries
ahead of the values of nature and emotion as Frankenstein embodies. Scott effectively
uses mis en scene of film noir elements such as a misty room, silhouette figure and
intense darkness in the interrogation of Leon to illustrate the superhuman power of
replicants. Immense scientific advancement is contrasted through environmental
degradation and genetically engineered replicants that appear to be more human than
human .
A prevailing theme within Frankenstein is the recurring conflict of science and
religion. Shelley utilizes dramatic irony when Victor plays God by creating a new
species that would bless him as its creator and source . Victor doesn t fulfill his role
as God as he rejects his creation and doesn t provide it a proper upbringing. Shelley
utilizes a doppelganger,
7. Basketball Personal Narrative
Basketball my 6th grade year was rough. It was my very first year ever playing
sports. Since I went to a small elementary school everyone made the team and I
was the only 6th grade student that joined I was so nervous the first practice my
hands were shaking way faster than I could run. The rest of the girls were eighth
graders that had a ball thrown at them the second the exited the womb; let me just
tell you that season sucked. Even though I cried after every game because I wasn t
good enough and in practice always crossed the finish line last I still somehow loved
the game. It wasn t the only game I loved though; I also loved soccer. After I kept the
benches warm 6th grade year I decided I was going to work hard. I started running a
mile at least once a week. Which turned into two miles after I filled a few buckets
of sweat after a couple weeks. I had convinced my uncle to let me be a substitute on
his indoor soccer team since I already missed tryouts. I loved indoor soccer so much
and that s when I began to really start improving. I scored my first goal that season
with five others after. I loved the feeling of putting in every drop of work I could into
a game that I truly loved. Travel soccer didn t only make me betterat sports but I
improved as a person. I began to be more positive, I worked... Show more content on

Even though I worked a lot that s when I realized I hadn t barely touched a basketball
since the year before. I beat myself up about that all day in class until after school
when it was time. I went to the first practice terrified expecting it to be last year all
over again; that didn t happen. This year I was the first to finish running, instead of
the last. I was ten times more aggressive and confident in myself when I was told to
try something new. Somehow I knew how to dribble the basketball ten times better,
and my defense was great. I went home so
8. The Placement Of A Permanent Crown And A Temporary
Crown Prep
Reflection Paper I job shadowed Dr. Spencer on July 15. I was able to observe the
placement of a permanent crown and a temporary crown prep. I was very intrigued
about the entire process it takes in order to create a temporary crown and the steps
necessary to place a permanent crown. I enjoyed being able to see the amount of
time and effort spent on these procedures and the aftermath of a procedure being
completed. I also found it fascinating to be able to observe what specific choices
have to be made in order to select a certain crown for a specific patient. The
materials used for the temporary crown prep consisted of Centrix, Jet Tooth Shade
Powder and Jet Liquid, Temp Bond, and Impregum. The Centrix impression material
was used in this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Impregum was used for the second impression and was sent to the lab for a
bruxZir crown. This material had also been used for years by Dr. Spencer due to
its flexibility and pleasant taste. Dr. Spencer had tried different products in the
past, however, he found these specific materials to be more effective. The bruxZir
crown is a more esthetic choice and was selected for this specific patient based on
grinding habits. The other procedure I observed was a porcelain fused to metal
(PFM) crown placement using Cavidry, Carboxylate cement, and Durelon. Cavidry
is a cleaning agent used for rapid drying, degreasing, and cleaning the area before a
crown placement. Carboxylate cement and Durelon are mixed together to create a
cement that is the most effective for porcelain fused to metal crowns or gold
crowns. The Carboxylate cements and Durelon were selected by the dentist due to
its desirable retention of restorations, easy to use, and is inexpensive. The dentist
also selected the PFM crown because it is a noble metal that is least likely to break.
The office manager explained that a specific crown is selected based on insurance,
esthetic purposes, and according to patient s oral habits. The first procedure I
observed was a placement of a porcelain fused to metal (PFM) crown. The patient
was in need of a crown due to fracturing tooth number 15. The procedure did not
include anesthesia based on the patient s preference. A temporary crown was in place
and was removed at this
9. Bergen-Belsen Prisoner-Of-War Camp
Title In 1940, the Bergen Belsen prisoner of war camp was set up near Celle,
Germany (USHMM). SS Obersturmbannfuhrer Adolf Haas was the first officer of the
camp. It didn t become an official concentration camp until December of 1944, when
SS Hauptsturmfuhrer Josef Kramer became the commandant (Webb and Lisciotto).
Homosexuals, gypsies, Jews, and many other types of people were imprisoned at
Bergen Belsen (USHMM). The prisoner of war camp ran from 1940 to 1945, and
held French and Belgian prisoners (Bergen Belsen: Camp Complex). Part of the
camp became a residence camp in 1943 (USHMM). This camp was in operation
until 1945, and held all Jewish prisoners. The residence camp was split into 4 smaller

It ran from 1943 to 1944 and held all the non Jewish prisoners. Part of the camp
became the recuperation camp, where any sick prisoners were sent (Bergen
Belsen: Camp Complex). This part of the camp was established in 1944 to keep
healthy prisoners from getting sick (USHMM). The most people died there
because there was no medical care or good food, and the conditions were very bad
(Bergen Belsen: Camp Complex). About 35,000 of these prisoners died when the
typhus epidemic struck, including Anne and Margot Frank. Many of them were
also killed by lethal injections (Webb and Lisciotto). When the recuperation camp
became too full, officials moved all the girls to the tent camp (Bergen Belsen:
Camp Complex). This happened in 1944 (USHMM). The tent camp was later
damaged by a storm, so the small women s camp was created (Bergen Belsen:
Camp Complex). Prisoners who survived the death marches were brought to
Bergen Belsen, and many of them were women, so officials turned the prisoner of
war camp into the large women s camp (USHMM). Bergen Belsen was liberated by
Britain on April 15,1945. Forty eight of the workers were put on trial. This included
the commandant, Josef Kramer, who replaced Adolf Haas when he was killed in
1944 (Webb and Lisciotto). Kramer and 10 others were sentenced to death, while
nineteen others were sent to prison. The remaining people were released after the
trials (USHMM). The executions took place on
10. Essay on Growing Up During the Egyptian Revolution
I grew up in my home country Egypt, in a time some may say I was lucky to have
experienced and been a part of. I took part in helping a nation overthrow its dictator

Each night seemed like an entire season, full of constant suspense and fear of your
neighborhood being attacked and the potential harming of the women and children

that they were avoided by the uncontrolled militias, while others had to pray they
were prepared enough for attacks. Attackers that were contained were not shown
remorse, and likewise had your luck handed you or yours into their hands. Needless
to say this was a very mentally demanding, testing, and above all changing
experience for all those who took part.
As a boy brought in the modern world, like most others in my situation, I was
unprepared for such an experience. The situation s build up was too quick and
spontaneous to prepare for and forced me to mentally adjust to it as it happened

accordingly to protect it. You wished to feel fear, for the assertion that what you
were living through was actually happening. All that was actually felt was pure
alertness as soon as the sun started to set. There was no time to think like a boy,
primal instincts prevailed and along with it honorable doings through grounded
choices. The long nights acted as catalysts as each boy adapted to a primal man

his parents abandoned him and left him. Then the gods took care of him then
abandoned him too. Moui had nobody to lovehim or talk to. He wanted to do

character Moana sets off the find Moui to save her village because he took the

12. Tumsville
The town of Tumsville sits well off the beaten path in a little section of woods. It s
a heavily segregated town, not between black and white, but rather rich and poor.
The town is square shaped and straight down the middle runs an old rail road. It
splits the rich and the poor s homes, schools, and parks. Like the game of capture
the flag, anybody who ventures over to the wrong side is fair game. They can be
tormented by the other side or made the laughing cow of the town. Rumor has it
that one time a particularly stinky, ungroomed poor man made his way over to the
rich side and was murdered. For those reasons exactly, I, one of the poorest of the
poor, am forbidden to set foot on the rich side of town. Everyone calls me Del, short

The major one was transportation. It wasn t like I could just cross the train tracks
and walk on to the rich side in bright daylight. People might see me and most likely,
would report me to the city counsel. There was only one route to Mama s
knowledge that could work. In the southern poor part of Tumsville, there was an
old path that went underground and led to the back of a record shop on the rich
side. Fifty years ago, it had been used by a number of people: robbers, prostitutes,
and drug dealers. According to my Mama, the record shop, back then, was actually
a house of negotiable affections. Fortunately, it was just a record shop now.
Nonetheless, it was still a risky trip. Once I reached the record shop, I would have
to make the five mile trek to the school. It would be a long trip, one that would
require me to wake up at 4:30 in the morning. But if that was the price I had to pay
for a decent education, then I sure was going to pay it. The other issue that we had
to face was clothing. My entire wardrobe two holey shirts and plumber overalls
would not cut it at Dives High. Every kid there wears big name brands like Hollister
and Abercrombie. I don t even think my clothes have a brand. They are just hand me
downs from cousins and friends. My Mama told me not to worry about it though. She
said that she could work something out with the thrift shop owner. Our plan was

our need for technology. Technology has become a part about our everyday life and
we can find technology being used nearly everywhere. Most systems in today s
countries and societies rely on technological infrastructure; these systems include
transport systems, factory systems, power plant systems and water sanitation
systems. This brings on the question of to what extent have governments developed
their cyber securitydepartments, what evidence is there of governmental involvement
in malwareattacks and why should governments be concerned about cyber security.

Cyber treats of the 21st century
Computer Viruses are increasingly becoming more common, currently 148,000
computers are infected every day and the World Economic Forum predicts that
there is a 10% chance for critical infrastructure being damaged in the next 5 years .
As mentioned earlier most of the critical infrastructure like power plants and water
treatment facilities rely on computer systems, but more specifically PLC s
(Programmable Logic Controllers) 2 and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data
Acquisitions System) . These control systems have a major drawback, which is
that they are susceptible to attacks by hackers if they are not configured in the
correct way. There have been several examples of systems being compromised. The
ICS CERT (Industrial Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response Team)
responded to 198 cyber incidents reported by power plants, water treatment plants
and other critical infrastructure during 2012 . An experiment was conducted at the
Department of Energy s Lab in Ohio in 2007. The aim of the experiment was to
prove that it is possible to hack into the US power grid and shut down diesel
generators. The experiment was called Aurora, the group of computer experts

Thus, we return to the solid of revolutions formula
Volume = ∫_a^bв

The radius will be the aforementioned equation of the line. This again perfectly

The idea of critical success factors was initially presented in the 1960s by McKinsey
and Co s. D. Ronald Daniel, then further developed and promoted 10 years after, by
John F. Rockart, organizational theorist and senior instructor at MIT s Sloan School
of Management.
Critical success factor (CSF) is an administration term for a component that is
fundamental for a project or an organization to accomplish its central goal. It is a
basic a critical factor or action required for guaranteeing the Success of an
organization or an association. The term was at first utilized in the field of Data

has scaled its servers from the beginning and this has helped it keep track of the
traffic going through and whether there will be a need to expand. Initially, the
Googleplex consisted of hundreds of servers. As of today the Googleplex is
projected to consist more than a million servers. Google s business platform and
technology platform was designed from the outset to scale.
Relationship between Task 1 and Task 3
Task 1 and task 3 have more than a few points which are mutual in which both are
reliant on each other. The most common links between the tasks lies in the similar
characteristics of the critical success factors with the connection to information
systems failure. Only if critical success factors are observed thoroughly inside an
organization, they would be able to prevent Information Systems

of them, but none of them have been confirmed, the one that is most common and
considered to be the original of these de scriptions is that it is a bipedal creature
with long legs and arms, stands about three to five feet tall, has a large oval shaped
head, alien wrap around eye, and a distinctive row of spikes going down the
creatures spine. The creature known as the chupacabra is thought to be a fox,
possum, raccoon chime ra, an organism that is a combination of multiple different
organisms, in the 1950s. People have said to have seen it suck the blood out of
small animals and livestock (Radford mys tery ). The chupacabra got its name from
a combination of two Spanish words, these words are chupar meaning to suck and
cabra meaning goat (Lusted
19. Ethics Case Study Summary
Summary In this case study a view of ethics or social responsibility is presented.
The case study addresses what some applicants are willing to do in order to obtain
the job being pursued or to get ahead. A few applicants are willing to change or
misrepresent a small fact on their application or resume (Gomez Mejia, Balkin,
Cardy, 2016). Some alterations are to conceal information that is protected by law
such as date of birth (Gomez Mejia, Balkin, Cardy, 2016). Other times the
alterations are made to make an applicant appear more qualified in order to obtain a
job being sought (Gomez Mejia, Balkin, Cardy, 2016). Reasoning for the alterations
aside, misrepresentations on resumes by applicants happens about 30% of the time
(Gomez Mejia, Balkin, Cardy, 2016). Resume/Job Application Fraud
Misrepresentations, on resumes or applications, no matter the size or issue are
considered fraud. While at the time the applicant may deem the actions harmless, the
actions really are not. Fraud is a concern for any organization for varying reasons. One

Many people argue that being a youtuber is a real job. Some people say people

Being a youtuber is a real job. They put in enough time, work, and effort as any other
job. They have to record, edit, animate, and clear any copyright laws before posting a
video. There are videos that can be an easy thirty seconds and there are videos that are

William Golding s Lord of the Flies, narrates the story of a group of English boys
as they struggle to survive on an uncharted, uninhabited island. The boy s airplane

themselves. Ralph and Piggy meet each other first and, upon Piggy s counsel,
Ralph decides to call a meeting of all the boys by blowing on a conch shell. The
boys quickly begin to form a society in which they elect Ralph as their leader. A

Towards the end of the novel, the other boys savagely murder Simon; when the boys

upon them in order to keep society civilized and from this point until the boys get
rescued their savage nature completely takes over and nothing holds them back any

inferiority. He also believed that people focus on maintaining control over their
lives. Golding shows these ideas in his novel. Piggy, Ralph, and Jack all have
issues with inferiority and control, in some way each of them feels inferior and
each them strives for control. The other boys consider Piggy substandard to them
because physically he is not their equal, Piggy realizes that the other boys perceive
him this way and tries to make up for it with his intellect and emphasis on the rules,
which leads into Piggy s control issue he tries to use control to counter act the

23. Conception Of Possession
Through the time period of the demonization of the world and the evolution of the
conceptions of possession, three large beliefs persisted in both learned and popular
notions (Midelfort, 211). The first, being widely held by the educated, was the belief
that possession was regarded as punishment for sin. The second, which was popular
with the uneducated, was the belief that possession was a consequence of witchcraft,
with the possessed being the victim. The third, being a belief both learned and
popular, was the notion that the demon, whether as a punishment of sin or
consequence of witchcraft, possessed its victims by way of physical entrance into the
body (Sands, 226). Such conceptions of demonic possession maintain similarities
with conceptions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Midelfort s research shows that the number of cases of individual possession
between 1490 1650 reports 16 more female possessions than male (215). While this
difference is not entirely substantial, it is relevant considering the amount of cases
that may have gone un reported, as well as the consideration of the other countries
of Europe where witchcraft persecutions were prevalent. As Larner states, the high
prevalence of female witches to male witches is not concrete proof for the
gendering of witchcraft; however, it may be a contributing factor that added fuel to
the misogyny of the age (255). This parallels the notion that females would willingly
admit to possession, as it was one of the few ways in which they could obtain power
in the largely suppressive patriarchal society, thus contributing to the gendering of
24. The Death Of The Doctor
As I stood there watching my mother cry, I couldn t seem to fathom how death
could cause someone who was here yesterday to disappear today. My mother and I
witnessed my thirty three year old aunt whither away from ovarian cancer. A death
that was avoidable had she had better access to healthcare for early diagnosis. My
aunt s cancer never received treatment and progressed until there was nothing left in
her pelvic cavity. It ignited a spark; a spark to search for answers. A spark that grew
brighter as I grew up and which inspires me to treating cancer and other similarly
vicious diseases.
I grew up on a small island where the doctor was seen as someone who would kill
you from malpractice or carelessness. In reality people would not go to the doctor
until they were extremely sick and usually there was nothing the doctor could do.
There was great fear surrounding the doctor and it contributed to many family
members suffering needlessly. But after my aunt died, I wanted to believe
something different. I refused to accept that nothing could be done. When my
father got a job opportunity in America, my mother and I decided to push the idea
of moving to escape because of the abuse we had endured from him. We knew in
America we would have resources to escape, which we didn t have in the Caribbean.
I then decided if I moved to the United States I would become a physician.

25. The Role Of Sports In The 1920 s
Modern sports has evolved and taken pieces of culture from many different
decades throughout American history, but it is clear that the 1920 s out of all
decades had the biggest impact on sports overall. The 1920 s was the Golden Age
for the growth of sports because this time period included the need for escapism,
racism in sports was at a high, and the nation was currently in economic prosperity.
To begin, the 1920 s is considered the Golden Age for the growth and development
of sports because the need for escapism was introduced during this time period. After
a long and hard war, most Americans were eager to forget the war and to move on to
something of more worth. For Americans in general, participating in and watching

During this time period, many racial remarks and ideas were still surfacing
throughout the country. Although slavery had been abolished, segregation still
occured. This segregation was greatly showed throughout all aspects of many
different sports. During the decade, Jim Crow laws prevented most gifted black
athletes from participating in the American Dream of success that was so much
apart of sports culture (Sports 3). This quote is proving how Americans clearly
discriminated against blacks throughout sports culture. Another important idea
shown here is that even gifted athletes who excelled in sports were frowned upon.
If people at this time really wanted high level sports competition, racism and
segregation would have been ignored and citizens would play to play. This idea is
proved by the quote, African Americans, generally speaking, were not allowed to
compete with whites (Sports 3). Blacks proved that they could compete with whites
in rebellious ways, which eventually led to racism through sports disappearing
completely. Blacks found a remedy. Since professional baseball excluded black
athletes, African Americans founded, owned, and operated the Negro National
Baseball League (Sports 3). This is just one of the many ways that blacks during this
time period proved themselves worthy enough of playing and

The second important scene of the movie was the kitchen scene where Jack is being
held captive. This scene shows the transition of scale at a major level. If the whole
kitchen were built to the scale of the giant the kitchen would ve been 300 feet long.
Instead of that the designers divided the kitchen to three parts and displayed the props
in them.
Large scale props were made with lightweight material to show the comparison
between the human and the giant s house. Large brick effect was added to the wall,
which made the comparison visible.
Additionally a human sized cage is also used to show the entrapped man. This cage

Kingdom by a 55.5% vote of the 84.6% turnout (Scotland s Future, 2013). Although a
large turnout by voting standards, the marginal lead of the winning vote was slim. A
main argument for Scottish independence was to keep tax, economic, and social
security decisions in the hands of the people whom it affected, the Scottish people
themselves; rather than the Westminster Government who determined those factors
for the whole of the United Kingdom(Scotlands Future, 2014). If Scotland was to

Some voters did not understand where Parliament would get their funding, they
had distrust in the First Minister s argument, and their own risk assessment on
whether it was worth it or not. The main consensus for their reason of voting No
was that they were united together 300 years previously and should stay united.
There was also a lack of understanding in the reasons for independence. The
demographics of the vote showed that millennials of the sixteen to seventeen age
range voted for the independence of Scotland, 71%. The voting in ages between
eighteen and fifty four was almost a fifty fifty split in the demographic ranges.
However when it came to the age group of sixty five and older, a large 73% voted

resided in Scotland over the age of sixteen was allowed to vote, which is where
approximately 400,000 votes from people of England, Wales, and Northern Ireland
came from. The almost 800,000 Scottish people who lived in the United Kingdom
but not in Scotland however, did not get to vote on the issue of independence in 2014

33. An Analysis Of Ben Jonson s The Lyric
In 1616, Ben Jonson published the lyric Still to Be Neat, which was responded to in
1648 with Delight in Disorder, a lyric by Robert Herrick (Kornman, 1)(Adams, 1).
Both poems are iambic tetrameter and include a plethora of similarities. These
similarities, including rhyme and diction, are used to emphasize the theme, which I
believe to be naturalness, of both poems (Reviewing, 1). The message of each poem,
although presented through different tones, is that the imperfections of a woman s
natural beauty are admirable to not only the eyes, but also the heart of a man. While
the poems use diction to accentuate the common theme and display similar rhyme
schemes that represent the point of view in the poems, there is a difference within
these similarities, the contrasting tones, which aid in getting the message across to
the reader.
Notably, the use of diction in each poem is used to emphasize the theme and aid to
the tone of each speaker. For starters, the speakers in each poem are men that prefer
a woman in sweet disorder ( Delight 1) with hair as free ( Still 9), rather than a
woman still perfumed ( Still 3) and too precise in every part ( Delight 14). In the late
16th and early 17th centuries, much poetry incorporated the idea of disorder in
women and specifically, Jonson notes that there s something peculiar about a woman
who is always neatly dressed; what is she hiding (Adams, 1). In these few examples,
the diction is geared towards representing

In the last portion of the paper, various complexity analysis tools are examined in
relation to Dell and the computer/technology industry. The industry was examined in
terms for the Fitness Landscape, Boid Analysis, Industry Evolution Modeling, and
Life Cycle Analysis. Examining Dell in the context of multiple frameworks granted
insights into key factors such as material inputs, resource depletion, byproducts,
waste and disposal options and stakeholder versus societal obligations and
responsibilities. An analysis of the Sustainable Value Framework, including a detailed
analysis of the sustainable value of Dell and its products and services rounds out the
research.
Key Take aways
One critical factor repeatedly presented itself throughout this research project and that
is the absolute necessity for Dell to find a way to innovate in a sustainable manner.
Having Chairman Michael Dell at the helm again is beneficial to the growth and
cohesive vision of the firm, but Dell is losing ground to rivals such as HP in the
areas of technological advances and sales. Another key take away is that Dell leaders
must invest in the training and re educating of employees and invest in the research
and development of products in collaboration with the firm s key suppliers in its
network. Critical to the success

Leading Group Challenges * Police, courts and corrections are part of criminal

leaders of these agencies must deal with these challenges (Duelin, 2010). The types
of criminal justice leaders range from police chiefs and sheriffs to prison
superintendents, and heads of government, state, or local task forces. Some of the
challenges they confront are budget and staffing shortfalls, political perspectives on
the roles of law enforcement personnel in society, and the changing nature of crime
and the difficulties associated with keeping up with these trends (Bryant, 2010). *

Leadership for these criminal justice agencies must balance this power with fairness
(Duelin, 2010). * Communication issues are also a challenge for criminal justice
agencies. There are two communication barriers one is individual and the other is
organizational. Individual communication issues are that a person s own
interpretation of a message may not be what is meant. An organization s culture can
be a barrier in communicating with another organization. The court system, police
and corrections have different jargon that is used within their culture. This sometimes
makes communication difficult between the organizations as well as with the public.
To handle these challenges a leader must be an affective communicator (Duelin,
2010). * Many of the challenges faced within the prison system are the same as those
that are faced within other criminal justice organizations but there are some that are
different challenges. Some of the same are workforce challenges. Recruitment, hiring,
retention, training, and succession planning are a few of those workforce challenges.
Budgets have an impact on these challenges. Technology is also a challenge. Keeping
up with the latest technology can be very challenging. There is always a need for
management information systems, fingerprint systems, enhanced security systems,
and communication systems. Challenges that are met by managers of a prison
system that are not met by other criminal justice systems are

He was horridly torn, spilt in three different directions, each incredibly different. On

what to call it, but it filled him with warmth all the same. Awe, perhaps. It was just
that...no one..on one in the world, in any world had ever done such at thing for him.

he loved his husband, but he also lusted after him as well. A lot of the times there was

41. An Analysis Of Pieces D Identites, And Aesthetics Of...
African cinema has certain aesthetics and politics that differ from cinema within
the United States. The politics and aesthetics of African film tends to reference
themes of liberation, self identity and allegories referring to colonialism. Three
films that were viewed in class this year that display each of these politics are
Lumumba, Pieces D Identites, and Afrique, Je Te Plumerai. The first politic and
aesthetic African films tend to reference the most is liberation. A good example of
a film that shows this politic is the film Lumumba directed by Raoul Peck. This film
was released in 2001 and is about the life of the former prime minister of the
Democratic Republic of the Congo, Patrice Lumumba. The film examines the
liberation of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A good example of a film viewed during this semester with this aesthetic is Afrique,
Je Te Plumerai. This film was released in 1992 and directed by Jean Marie Teno.
This film is about the history of the west African country of Cameroon. This film
starts with the first contact the area which would become Cameroon had with
European missionaries, to German and French colonialism, and finally to present
day and how the colonialism affected the people of Cameroon. This uses allegories
for colonialism through showing how the literature taught in schools and most of the
books in the libraries are by White authors and that they have very little literature by
Black authors taught in schools or displayed in libraries. Also the name of the film
Afrique, Je Te Plumerai means Africa, I Pluck You . This is an allegory of how
colonialism has plucked all of the Cameroonian history from the people and has
replaced it with European history. This aesthetic would never be used in a
Hollywood film due to the fact that the United States is a country that goes around
attacking and colonizing other countries for their natural resources and to build an
empire. Hollywood actually makes films with the complete opposite of this
aesthetic where the film its film is about how invading other countries and killing
people made U.S. soldiers sad. All in all African films have completely different
politics and aesthetics than films made in the U.S. The film Lumumba shows the
politics of liberation. The film Pieces D Identities shows the aesthetics of self
identity. The film Afrique, Je Te Plumerai shows the aesthetics of allegories of
colonialism. In conclusion Hollywood would not dare to touch the politics nor
aesthetics of these films due to Hollywood s prejudices and other
42. Ernest Becker Response To Death
Is Ernest Becker correct in arguing that the terror of death shapes societal attitudes?
What are the different emotional and intellectual responses to death and how
significant do you think they are? Ernest Becker was a cultural anthropologist who
believed that the characters of individuals in society are shaped by a process of death
denial and death anxiety. Due to the contradiction of humans being an emergent life
that does not seem to have any more meaning than a non emergent life (CITE birth
and death). Through this process of mortality denial, an individual could continue to
function and tame the inevitability and the terror of death through the creation of

(CITE tmt) Terror management underlies the conflict human s face due to their
desire to live and the terror and anxiety they feel due to their knowledge of the
certainty of death. They combat the terror of death by erecting defences against
death (CITE denial of death ). Terror management theory suggests that people learn
to alleviate their fear of death by finding meaning in life and value in themselves

bolstering invidual self esteem . Through this, we can escape the fear of extinction

things work, especially if it includes STEM. Born and raised in a poor family where
opportunities were both rare and expensive, I struggled as much as I could to never
stop being fascinated by nature, and in part, I have indeed been successful. In fact, I
believe that this struggle helped me outrank everyone during my high school and help
me achieve significant accomplishments, such as being finalist in my country s
largest software development competition. I came to the United States with hopes
and dreams of further exploring my interests. Here at Southeastern, I have been
enrolled in a dual major program in computerscience and physics. Since it is
extremely hard for my parents who are going to retire within this year to fund for my
education, I have to rely on scholarship awards for the continuation of my education
at Southeastern. Thus, I am hereby applying for the J.E. and Mattye Lou Martin

Wilder s directing style is most comfortable with cynical humor matched with witty
dialogue, that made him perfect for creating satirical films based on the absurd, and
easily blended these with his approach on film noirs. Wilder consistently pushed the
limits of the U.S. censorship of the day with his provocative choice of subject matter

discussed form involves a terrorist group either stealing a nuclear weapon or
building a nuclear device using stolen or illegally purchased nuclear material. This
paper explores the dangers and threats of Nuclear Terrorism. It also goes in depth
with how the government s actions have prevented groups, countries and homegrown
terrorist associations from starting a nuclear attack. The research that has been done
on this paper comes from information from both online and offline sources. This
paper contains information from both the NSA archive and from the Valencia
College Database. In reading this I hope you grasp a better understanding of how the
dangers of Nuclear Terrorism. Nuclear Terrorism Introduction Before 9/11 Americans
thought that the United States was one of the biggest powers in the world. They
thought that they were untouchable. However as the towers were falling and the
pentagon was hit they realized that America was like every other country. The United
States citizens have become aware of the fact that the world is a dangerous place, and
the United States was not immune to attacks from foreigners. This created something
known as the fear of terrorism which had a mental affect among many of the United
States citizens. According to study done by the University of Albany in 2007.
48. Analysis Of The Movie Hundred Dollar Baby
Men generally have the gender role to be the care takers, the fighters, and ultimately
the manliest man possible, while women have been thought to be weak and helpless
at the sight of danger. In the 2006 episode Hundred Dollar Baby of the TV show It s
Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the male stereotype promotes males as fighters, but
also disproves the general stereotype when some men run away from a fight. Also,
the femalestereotype is challenged when a woman wants to fight her own battles
instead of a mandoing it for her. Stereotypically, males typically assume they are
better fighters than women and while fighting, males seem drunk and tend to show
off their bodies by having their shirts off. Right off of the bat, the male... Show more

This goes against the stereotypical male because males generally stay and fight,
especially when saving a woman is involved.
The next day, Mac and Dennis learn of an underground fighting ring and convince
Charlie that he is the strongest man they know and he would be a great fighter.
Once again, the show goes against the male stereotype by having Dennis and Mac
make Charlie fight in their place so they can make money betting. The guys begin
to practice fighting as long as they are explicitly drunk, suggesting that sober males
would lose in a fight or would not fight at all. This proposes that they do not
believe they could win a fight or be in one if they were sober, so all three of them
need to be drunk to make it a great fight. Mac, Dennis, and Charlie all agree that the
best way to be a high quality fighter and trainer is to be intoxicated while in action.
The male characters also emphasize that a male must have his shirt off to show off
his muscular body while fighting, just like Rocky and Terminator because they
never wore a shirt when they were training. Charlotte Jiourosek had said that as the
athletic body type grew larger, so did the build of stars like Rocky and Terminator.

and would have been distasteful before today s age (233 4). In order for men to seem

49. The Results Of Raising The Dropout Age
Keys 1
The Results of Raising the Dropout Age
Obtaining an education is essential in today s society. Most students who attend
school on a regular basis usually succeed in life. On the other hand, many students
fail to attend school every day which can lead to problems in schools. However, some
students have acceptable reasons for dropping out. As a result, a student s punctuality
can ultimately alter his or her education. On that note, dropping out of high school
can affect an individual in many ways throughout the years. Schools are facing
challenges dealing with high dropout rates, high rates of truancy, and low graduation
rates because students are failing to attend school.
To begin with, dropping out of high school has caused a negative uprise leading to
high dropout rates. There are several effects of dropping out of school. Many students
have difficult experiences during their early lives. High school dropouts are more
likely to be from households where parents do not help their children with school.
Some students feel there is disconnect between themselves, their parents, and their
teacher; therefore, they end up dropping out of school. However, if parents and
teachers communicate with students, there is a higher chance that the students will
graduate and succeed. Many adults, who dropped out of school, regret dropping out.
Since the dropped out of school, life is not so easy for them. Suh initiates that the
United States economy had become more brain

51. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Hosting
Introduction Hosting has become a method to connect our world. It is a means for
those in need of a website to get their products and services marketed to a much
wider and global target audience. Because of its popularity there are many
different platforms, applications and different kinds of packages available for one
to use, should they want to start a website and online business. The cheapest is
shared hosting which allows you to share a server with multiple other websites
that share the servers resources. The one that tends to be most expensive is
dedicated server hosting with which you would be leasing a server for your own
use. You do not share this server and you have the use of all the server s resources
at your disposal. You also have the choice of operating system to use. You can use
either Windows or Linux. Windows is generally more expensive as it is paid
software meaning you have to buy a license in order to use it. Linux on the other
hand is cheaper. The operating system has multiple versions called distributions that
are many times free as this operating system is open source. Linux is credited as
being more flexible and more customizable. Many website developers also believe it
to be more secure and reliable than Windows. In fact most recommend using Linux
unless you have Windows specific... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hosting is when a hosting provider leases out a portion of its servers or cloud to
clients who then run their websites. This means that the host upkeeps and
maintains the server and makes sure that any server related issues are taken care
of. It is for this reason that they employ a staff of server administrators to look after
the servers and in so doing look after the websites of their clients. This symbiotic
relationship is highly advantageous both the host and client as the host gets an
income and the client gets the use of server at a far cheaper price and headache than
if they bought a

A Fear of Power I m like everybody is sitting in the park, like they are watching to

white female in her third month of a six month employment program, a green shirt
wearing park worker. Our group met Dawn while she was sweeping along the
outer western park sidewalk along with her more timid coworkers. Why does
Dawn think that a group of college students are spies? The green shirt park workers
are employees of New York City. Their duty is to clean and maintain the park and its
facilities (NYC Parks). However, many parkgoers fear the workers of Washington
Square Park. Confused?... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prior to observing the workers and parkgoers and before my interview with Dawn,
I was fairly certain that I was going to see the workers, enforcing strict rules and
discriminating against various individuals. My hypothesis was blatantly wrong.
The park workers duties varied tremendously based on their level and status. Dawn
for example is towards the bottom of the workers totem pole. She is a green shirt
worker. As I previously explained, her primary responsibilities are to clean and
maintain the park. However, her supervisors, the button down shirts have more
power. They are there to supervise Dawn and her contemporaries, but also they
represent an authority within the park. However, the ladder of power continues to
expand. The park rangers, who are dressed in a complete uniform and equipped
with a badge, have complete power. They supervise all official park events and a
park goer does not want to be on the receiving end of a lecture form a park ranger,
nor do the fellow employees. However, as always in the system of power, the New
York City police are still at the top of the power structure. They can come and go
whenever they choose, and when they are in the park, the illicit activities seem
minimized or at least
53. Survival In Shawshank Redemption
Conflict, pain, and struggle compose the gritty truth that walks beside everyone in
life and opens the door to death. Many will succumb to this unnerving truth, while
others will fight with a passion to survive. In most situations, survival may sound
like the only reasonable option. However, survival has proven itself to be both a
primitive instinct and a tenuous dream. The immensity at which this struggle
occurs, makes it a very real and predominant issue that is transparent in many
artistic works such as Man s Search for Meaning, Shawshank Redemption, and The
Book Thief. The characters in these works survived their many perils of
imprisonment by finding meaning, grasping hope, and having a will to live on.
Firstly, Man s Search for Meaning, by Viktor E. Frankl, illustrated the many
struggles that come with living in a concentration camp. In this book, Viktor Frankl
also described that he lost his manuscript that contained his life s work and he stated
that my deep desire to write this manuscript anew helped me to survive the rigors of

Hope is also an incredibly motivating factor which has been proven by the movie
Shawshank Redemption by Frank Darabont. In this movie, Andy was wrongfully

survive because he had hope in his future. In the movie, Andy spoke to Red about
his dream of one day owning a boat and running a hotel down in Mexico. With this
hope, he was able to dig a tunnel through the wall of his cell and escape the prison
in order to chase this dream (Darabont). This hope not only helped him to survive,
but to conquer. It is due to his hope that he was able to survive every day and push
for his dream to become a reality. In this movie, hope has proven to be a great
