RISHTA” is a consortium project on Adolescents’

Jharkhand, by educating and enabling them in making
informed decisions and choices. The target groups in
the project are primarily adolescents in the age group
of 12 to 24 years, married and unmarried who may be
either school going, school dropouts or non-school
going. Tata Steel provides leadership and vocational
training opportunities to young people in the program
area.

HCL has a foundation named HCL foundation to
achieve its CSR goals.
HCL Foundation was established in 2011 as the corporate social
responsibility arm of HCL, a diversified global enterprise active
across varied sectors including technology, healthcare and talent
management. It is a gold standard not for profit organization that
matches the national and international development standards and
brings about lasting positive impact in the lives of people through
long term sustainable programs implemented in full engagement
with HCL’s own employees and partners. Though HCL Foundation
officially came about in 2011, its humanitarian journey pre-dates
its inception. As an organization, HCL’s business model has always
been aligned with the interests of the society at large.

undertake developmental work in about
170 Gram Panchayats in the state of Uttar
Pradesh, India. HCLF would be working
closely with the state government and
key stakeholders in the communities to
address issues in a sustainable manner to
turn selected villages into “Model
Villages”.

commitment of up to INR 20 crore (~USD 3
million), is a programme aimed at
championing the rise of the Fifth Estate in
India - Non Government Organizations. The
HCL Grant is one of the biggest CSR Grants
of India, with a robust methodology backing
it. Launched in 2015, with one category of
Education, the HCL Grant added two more
categories, Environment and Health in the
year 2016-17.

• 3. HCL Uday - HCL is mandated by the belief of ‘giving
back’ and strengthening the socio-economic ecosystem
of communities it operates in. HCL is housed in large
metro cities as well as upcoming Tier 2 cities, in India
and across the world. These places are often faced with
challenges of rapid urbanization and inability of
communities to be able to cope up. In most places
there is significant population living below poverty line,
in undignified conditions with negligible access to basic
services such as education, health, livelihoods and
overall environmental upkeep. Currently, HCL Uday is
reaching out to more than 11 cities in India.

• 4. Power of One - Power of One is based on the belief that a
contribution as small as one rupee per day can make a huge
difference in people’s lives. It consists of two components –
payroll giving and volunteering. The campaign has a mandate
to support the local communities. It is also rolled out in U.S
and U.K geographies of HCL. In India, close to 50,000 HCLites
are a part of payroll giving. In 2016, HCL Foundation
launched a distinct project called My Scholar supported by
the funds collected from Power of 1. This project supports
long terms scholarships for meritorious students who come
from economically challenged backgrounds. HCLites also
devoted approximately 100,000 hours this year, reaching out
to 200,000 beneficiaries, exemplifying true corporate social
responsibility.

LIC carries out its CSR activities majorly by the
LIC Golden Jubilee foundation.
LIC as a responsible Corporate Citizen has been fulfilling
its social responsibilities from time to time. LIC Golden
Jubilee Foundation was established on 20.10.2006 as a
part of LIC’s Corporate Social Responsibility. The
Foundation has been registered with the Charity
Commissioner Mumbai and is also exempt under Section
80G of Income Tax.

As on date LIC have sanctioned projects worth
Rs. 19.2 crore and the disbursements on
these projects are being done in installment
basis depending upon the progress of the
said projects. We have supported NGOs who
are working in remotest village in North-
East, to tribal area of Kangra District of
Himachal, to remotest village in Pallakad,
Bheemanad in Kerala and Bhuj in Extreme
West to Magrahat in remotest Eastern India.
We have tried to reach to the remotest
villages ensuring a Pan India Presence.

30. Projects Undertaken.
1. LPG Scheme for BPL families.
Under this project, Indian Oil contributes 20% of 2% of
previous year’s Net profit towards one-time grant to
BPL families in the rural areas for release of new
LPG connections under MoP&NG LPG Scheme. Under
the scheme, the security deposit for 1 cylinder and
1 pressure regulator is provided from the fund
created for this purpose by contributions from the
CSR budget. During 2015-16, 22.8 lakh new
connections were released by Indian Oil and
cumulatively, 32.4 lakh BPL families have benefitted
from this scheme.

2. Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
In response to the clarion call given by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on
15th August, 2014, IndianOil has been actively engaged in Swachh
Bharat Abhiyaan activities across the country in various
installations/locations and in the vicinity thereof. IndianOil
organized various events to sensitize its employees, their families
and general public and held cleanliness drives, walkathons,
debates, street plays, skits, tree plantations, poster making
competitions, etc. across India. Sports icons on the rolls of
IndianOil also actively participated in the campaign. Cumulatively,
more than 3600 such events were organized. Regular inspections of
toilets at fuel stations were also carried out to improve
cleanliness. Ten decentralized waste-to-fuel plants with total
waste recycling capacity of 50 tons/day are under implementation
at Varanasi.

Under Government of India’s Swachh Bharat -
Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyaan, IndianOil took the
initiative to construct/repair 2855 toilets in
Govt. schools across 16 States. Most of the
schools allocated were in remote and backward
areas of Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, etc.
Despite heavy odds, IndianOil ensured
construction/ renovation of all toilets in
allocated locations within the targeted timelines.

4. Indian Oil’s Assam Oil Division Hospital,
Digboi, Assam
Established in 1906, this modernized 200-bed
hospital at Digboi caters to the population in this
part of Assam and nearby areas in the North East.
General and specialized health camps are also
organized regularly by the hospital to reach out
to the poor villagers nearby, who have no access
to medical facilities. During 2015-16, 16,423 non-
employee patients were treated at this hospital.
