A Case For Change HTF s IT Project Management Process Standardization
Executive Summary
This document describes the proposal of creating a new EPMO organization within HTF
(Hypothetical Financials) to oversee the standardization of its IT project management processes
including those for software development. HTF s (Hypothetical Financials) different LOBs currently
follow various flavors of SDLC models for software development and project management processes
and it is known the firm was too big to adopt quick process changes. The creation of an EMPO
organization is not a trivial efforts and is estimated to cost about 6 million dollars spanning 3 years
duration. The initiative will go through annual evaluation and budget planning process ... Show more

However, currently the firm lacks standard processes around development and project management.
Each line of business has its own proprietary or derived methodologies built on top of the Waterfall
model. There s not an official standard at firm level nor there s an EMPO like organization responsible
for standardization. The level of maturity in the project management process is different too across
different LOBs. For example, some LOBs requires project managers to write business cases (BC) and
go through approval processes before a project can be created inside a project management system.
Some LOBs do not or simply adopted manual process in the approval of business cases. That means
that the business case are not required to be entered in the BC system. Some LOBs have standard
project template for PMs to use and others do not. Another example of varied maturity is around the
artifact/document management. Different tools are used for documents (e.g. requirements and design
documents). Some LOBs are using Microsoft SharePoint as a central repository but some simply use a
network drive. Developers also follow different processes in managing source code. Some use
standard tools such as Subversion to manage source code and following the best practices, some
simply keeps their source code on the development servers.
As a global financial organization, HTF s various lines of businesses (LOB) have been operating in a
very independent way. Each LOB also

The Satanic Verses Analysis
In The Satanic Verses, numerous symbols illustrate how human nature is the source of the evil.
Furthermore, the symbolic significance that pertains to the main character also shows how all
individuals have both good and bad qualities. A repeating motif in the book is the reference to the play
Othello . Skapearses famous play follows the life of the Moor Othello after is marriage to Desdemona.
Iago, a loyal friend of Othello, was furious that the Moor overlooked him for a promotion, sparking
his lust for revenge. Iago devised a plan to persuade the King that his had been having an affair with
his trusted friend Cassio. Iago s actions resulted in the Moor killing Desdemona. After learning the
truth, Othello committed suicide. The references to the play foreshadow the ending of the novel but
also gives further explanations to the actions of Gibreel. The first mentions of Othello only occurred to
criticize Shakespeare because he couldn t spell (256). The primary reference occurs when Gibreel
wondered about the creation of evil, why it grows, how it takes unilateral possession of a many sided
human soul. Or, let s say: the enigma of Iago (439). Gibreel continues by denying his allegations
saying he s, no match for the moor (439). Gibreel turns out to me more naive than the moor because
the events that occur in Othello are mirrored in the novel. Gibreel assumes the role of Othello, Saladin
Iago, and Gibreel s love interest Allie Cone, Desdemona. Gibreel inherited the

Folly In Ours Is Beer
Nurin (2016), said it best, let s be real. A lot of silly marketing gimmicks pop up on the calendar to
raise awareness for a particular product or activity (p.1). Consequently, the modern business landscape
is very dynamic and versatile so that creativity and innovation forms the main criteria through which
the success of the marketing strategies adopted are gauged. Indeed, packaging marketing
communication, among other marketing mixes applied in contemporary market requires shrewdness.
NBB seemed to agonize over the use of the word folly in its advertising campaign. Indeed, the use of
the word folly was controversial, especially due to the connotation that the word has. Moreover, the
use of the word is somehow self defeating because in its lexical meaning, folly means that which is
foolish, lack meaningful sense or useless. Further, it is defined as a costly ornamental product or
structure without any worthwhile use. However, in the usage, the company had a tagline, Follow Your
Folly ... Ours Is Beer. From loose interpretation, critics and competitors could get the meaning that
NBB is actually selling bear to people while full aware that the effects are not desirable to the

Ferrell Hartline states that, the debate about folly, built steam over several weeks, with the creative
team suggesting that a word like folly had fallen so far from the vernacular that it was ripe for
reinterpretation and a fresh new definition. Following one s folly also aptly alluded to the ideal of
offbeat endeavors versus the traditional follow the money thinking that created the social tensions
inherent to potential consumers lives. Consequently, after a healthy volley of e mails from nearly
every NBB department, the creative team won out and Follow Your Folly became the campaign s

My Parent s Relationship With My Parents Essay
Melissa and Travis Blackmore, are two of the kindest and hardest working individuals that I have ever
met, and I am lucky enough to call them my parents. My parents have been married for 21 years and
while they do engage in the occasional argument over dirty dishes, I have never doubted that my
parents love and respect each other. One observation that I have made about my parent s relationship
is how they make sacrifices for each other so that they can create the best home environment for my
sister and I. Currently both of my parents work outside of the home, although my mother used to teach
preschool from home before I came to Liberty. My mother currently works as a third grade teacher in
Henrico, Virginia, and sells Doterra essential oils from home. My father has worked at DuPont for as
long as I can remember although he has worked several sections and jobs within the company.
Currently my dad works as a head maintenance engineer at DuPont. Since I am the youngest child, my
leaving home was a big adjustment for my parents, especially my mom who was used to spending the
majority of her day with me working on homeschooling and doing activities with me. After I left
home, my mother decided to stop teaching preschool at home and went back to working out of the
home. While my parents miss my sister and I very much, they have found joy in spending time
working on their relationships with each other and with friends and family as well as with those who
work with them. Now that my

The Myth Of The Latin Woman By Judith Ortiz Cofer
How do you deal with stereotypes towards yourself or others that have experienced them? People are
stereotyped by their physical features and by the information we know about a certain group. They are
judged by their physical features instead of seeing what they are really capable of doing. Usually not
being involved in such a diverse community can cause that because they are accustomed to what s
near them. Exploring and learning about others will help shatter stereotypes. We ll explore in Sucheng
Chan and Judith Ortiz Cofer essays on how they ve been stereotyped and what they ve done to shatter
the quo.
People are stereotyped by their physical features and by the information we know about a certain
group. In a chapter in The Myth Of The Latin Woman an essay by Judith Ortiz Cofer, the author
speaks about women seeing as sexual objects. In the chapter, she says The males were given an
opportunity to admire the women and to express their admiration in the form of pirops. The men
would see the women as sexual objects and not as human beings. The way she and friends dressed
shouldn t give men the right to harass them publicly. I thought you latin girls were suppose to mature
early was a phrase one of her boyfriends told her when she was young (111,113). This is significant
because it shows how American culture sees Hispanic women. Ortiz Cofer explains how different
cultures can interpret things differently. Ortiz Cofer explains stereotypes can be broken by education

Abstract :
This paper caters to the reality, based on facts of carbon emissions, of electric cars doubting the
sustainability factor for the claims of the cars. The paper details what exactly electric cars are, their
manufacturing , mechanism and the carbon pollution emitted by them in the primary stage ,i.e.
Manufacturing. Also, it throws a limelight on the resources used to charge these electric cars and how
adversely it affects the climate if the resources used to charge the cars are non renewable resources,
such as charging cars which derive their electricity from national grid, which in most countries is
produced by coal (a highly polluting and carbon emitting and non renewable source of energy).
Methodology :
The methodology used in this paper is based on the research reports and articles published overtime
on online platforms.
Graphs and figures are represented to get better clarity of the various comparisons made.
Also, the positive and negative impacts of electric cars has been expressed for overall understanding.
Definition :
Electric Cars are vehicles that use electrical potential energy which is then stored in rechargeable
batteries (chemical energy) to propel at least one electric motor, converting it into kinetic energy.

How Myringotomy Is A Surgical Procedure
Myringotomy is a surgical procedure in which a small incision is made in the eardrum (the tympanic
membrane), usually in both ears. The English word is derived from myringa, modern Latin for drum
membrane, and tome, Greek for cutting. It is also called myringocentesis, tympanotomy,
tympanostomy of the tympanic membrane. Fluid in the middle ear can be drawn out through the
incision. Ear tubes, or tympanostomy tubes, are small tubes open at both ends that are inserted into the
incisions in the eardrums during myringotomy. They come in various shapes and sizes and are made
of plastic, metal, or both. Eustachian tube is a 35mm long auditory tube, functions to connect the
middle ear to the upper pharynx. They are left in place until they fall out by themselves or until they
are removed by a doctor. Fluid collection that lasts longer than three months and does not respond to
drug treatment. This condition is also called glue ear. Myringotomy is the recommended treatment if
the condition lasts four to six months. Effusion refers to the collection of fluid that escapes from blood
vessels or the lymphatic system. In this case, the effusion collects in the middle ear. Acute
inflammation of the middle ear with effusion is treated with one or two courses of antibiotics .
Antihistamines and decongestants have been used, but they have not been proven effective unless
there is also hay fever or some other allergic inflammation that contributes to the problem.

Personal Leadership Philosophy Paper
Abstract Leadership is essential to the success of any organizations. Strong and effective leaders must
have clarity of purpose and a compelling vision to propel organizations forward. Every leader has a
philosophy which is a founding principle for their belief. Successful leaders know their personal
leadership philosophy and know how to communicate it in everything they do. Leaders must know
who they are, their priorities, and their values. This paper will highlight my personal philosophy and

Being a transformational leader is great because they are visionaries and motivators. However, the
downside to being such a leader can lead to some disadvantages along the way which can go wrong.
Some situations under this leadership style can quickly change to actions where decisions can be made
abruptly out of emotions. Typically abrupt decisions can be detrimental to the people and can also
result in negative implications. Another weakness of this leadership style is employees being burned
out. Employees can easily become inspired and hopeful to attain goals under transformational
leadership but can feel the disadvantage when they are made to work long hours and obliged to go

Gender Stereotypes In The Disney Film Moana
There is a poem by Rupi Kaur that says,
Representation
is vital otherwise the butterfly surrounded by a group of moths unable to see itself will keep trying to
become the moth.
It is said that most of the decisions that we make in our lifetime are made unconsciously. Whether we
d like to admit it or not, the characters we grew up laughing, crying, hating, and falling in love with
have shaped who we are and how we look at the world today. These characters have impacted our
lives in ways that transcend far beyond the length of the movie or television show. This impact frames
how we see ourselves, our aspirations, and our perception of the people around us. It is for these

As a result, oftentimes young girls strongly identify with princess culture and even into adulthood we
not only blindly seek our own happily ever after but we assume that girls innately love princesses,
dress up, and anything magical, making children even more susceptible to gender stereotypes. Many
of the classic Disney movies spend a great portion of their screen time painting its leading female
character as a damsel in distress. This princess culture suggests that despite other defining
characteristics, a females most valuable asset is her beauty above all else. These Disney movies also
imply that girls should be sweet despite the lousy hand they were dealt.
Sleeping Beauty is indeed beautiful and sweet, but spends most her movie hiding, and as a result, ends
up waiting hand and foot on seven dwarfs who aren t always kind instead of fighting for her kingdom.
Cinderella was so set on getting away from her evil step mother that she swans off with a prince she
barely knows who was amazed by her beauty, with the assumption that freedom from the life she once
lived would come from the security of marrying a prince. In Beauty and the Beast, it is highlighted
several times that Belle s appeal is not only her beauty but her intelligence as well. Yet despite how
smart she is, she falls in love with a Beast who held her hostage against her will. It is not until Ariel in

Pros And Cons Of Dual Citizen
I. Many people may not know that there are different types of United States citizens. A person is either
a natural born citizen or a naturalized citizen. Natural born citizens were born here and given
citizenship right away. Naturalized citizens are immigrants that followed the steps to citizenship.
Naturalization, the process to become a United States citizen is a lengthy procedure that includes
much paperwork and many legal affairs.
II. There are certain items that are required to enter the country.
A. The green card allows an immigrant to live in the country permanently.
1. The green card looks like a driver s license.
2. Immediate family members of a green card holder receive one as well.
3. An immigrant that is a refugee gets one too. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
America does not allow or disallow dual citizenship.
2. It simply does not recognize the other country as your home.
3. Many dual citizens say it is a blessing to be a citizen in multiple countries.
4. They say they love being a part of multiple cultures.
C. The conflict between the dual citizens and the military are as follows.
1. There is controversy about of a dual citizen can serve in the armed forces.
2. This is again due to security requirements.
3. One argument is that a dual citizen could be communicating with the other country they call home.
4. The other argument is that the dual citizen would not have become a citizen just to spy on the
military.
VI. Illegal immigrants in the United States are turning into a massive problem. Illegal immigrants
looking for work in the United States sometimes buy fake identities in hope of not getting caught. In
2008, 313,982 identities were stolen in the United States. Fifteen percent were used to get documents
or benefits from the government. While another fifteen percent were used to get employment, per the
FTC. Naturalization, the process to become a United States citizen is a lengthy procedure that includes

The Assumption That The Internet Can Replace Libraries
The assumption that the internet can replace libraries is one built on underestimation of what a library
is and how it has, and continues to, evolve. The idea of a library is something built from personal
experiences and relies on nostalgia. But libraries today are not what they were in the past, nor can they
be in the future, Libraries need to take the time to ask hard questions about how their patrons are
seeking knowledge and using information differently than they have in the past. (Palfrey 2015, p.40).
Libraries continually evolve their methods while simultaneously overcoming struggles of identity and
financial stability. Despite these obstacles, libraries are prime candidates to act as preservation and
information experts in the world where technology drives knowledge and information. Libraries are
facing a struggle of identity brought about by technology. Once the internet became a household
feature the library was no longer the most convenient information center for most patrons. So while
dealing with new problems, library staff are also re creating the library. But what of the old libraries
endures into today s libraries? More than most would assume, Books and other library resources
should be provided for the interest, information, and enlightenment of all people of the community the
library serves. (Library Bill of Rights). The library remains a place for all people to have equal access
to information and services. The face has changed, but the heart remains

Let s Put an End to Parking Problems!
I would like to see the parking and traffic crunch on and around this campus eased. Unless a student
arrives before 8 o clock in the morning or in the afternoon, cruising the parking lots or streets for a
place to park is routine. Even buying a parking sticker does not mean you will have the privilege of a
space. Competition for spaces during the rush hours of 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. is cutthroat. Would be
parkers stake out sections of a parking row and sit in their cars hoping someone in their section will

In other words, make it convenient for car poolers. In this same vein, buses or vans could be run to
outlying areas which have large numbers of Northridge students as residents. Charge a fee which
would be less than the student is now paying in parking fees and gas. If the buses or vans were
advertised in the paper to increase student interest and if they were run at convenient times, I am sure
many students would take advantage of the opportunity.
A somewhat different tack would be to encourage bicycle riding and/or walking. Many students living
close to campus still drive when they could be bicycling. Making the roads safer for bikers is of major
concern and unsafe conditions are the reasons given by many who do not ride. Providing bicycle lanes
on all streets around the campus would be extremely beneficial. This would decrease contact with the
faster moving traffic. Adding more bicycle stands on campus which are secure would also encourage
bike riding. Perhaps courses on bike riding safety could be conducted on campus. Again, advertising
of the new bike lanes and bike facilities would encourage more people to ride. Also advertising the
health benefits of riding or walking should increase the number of students who will take advantage of
this inexpensive means of transportation.
There are several reasons why this change is both

The Beat Generation Analysis
As said by David Brubeck, an American jazz pianist and composer, Jazz stands for freedom. It s
supposed to be the voice of freedom: Get out there and improvise, and take chances, and don t be a
perfectionist leave that to the classical musicians . In this explication, David Brubeck views jazz as a
form of free speech; giving people free reign to express themselves in any way, shape, or form without
the fear of being denigrated by the general public. The Beat Generation was a promising time filled
with many significant authors, poets, and artists who were not afraid to express themselves and their
beliefs in their works of art. As these works of art were continuously produced and distributed, artists
turn to many sources for inspiration, like jazz, to put into their work. That said, jazz s free flowing
characteristics of taking chances and improvising catches the eyes of many poets by inspiring them to
express themselves in their poems; those of which include Amiri Baraka, Bob Kaufman, and Ted
Joans.
To begin, jazz s unique extemporizing aspects incites Amiri Baraka to proclaim his conviction on the
worldly problems that we face in his eminent poem, Afrikan Revolution. Presented on February 4,
1973 after Amilear Cabral s funeral, Amiri Baraka expresses his concerns on the differences among
the people in society, specifically, people of African descent and anyone who is suffering from
oppression. At the start of the poem, Amiri Baraka strikes his audience with examples of

The Many Evils of Iago in Othello by Shakespeare Essay...
The Many Evils of Iago in Othello by Shakespeare
Iago is a man of jealousy, and he is proposing revenge against Cassio and Othello. He claims both
Cassio and Othello have seduced his wife, Emilia, a warm hearted, simple woman. He proposes, as
revenge of wife for wife, to put Othello into such a jealousy as judgement can cure (Jorgensen 59). We
know therefore from the start why Iago hates Othello . . . (Modern 3). Iago s hatred for the Moor is
deep, and there is apparently reason. The Ten Commandments teach us to love thy neighbor and to not
steal. It seems that Othello has in a sense broken both those rules, or at least that is what Iago wants us
to believe. By trying to seduce Emilia he is not loving thy neighbor, and he ... Show more content on

Iago believes that he can exploit signs and forms from the outside while remaining..unscathed by the
consequent mystification (Eagleton 69). Iago s plans are carried out by causing sexual jealousy. The
successes of his plans depend on his pose of unswerving honesty a pose which none of the other
characters, not even his wife, is able to penetrate (Scragg 52). The other people involved in Iago s plan
have no idea what is about to happen to them. Iago uses their ignorance to destroy all of them. All are
oblivious of the false mind behind the honest mask and of the many specific machinations by which
they are victimized (Evans 116). Even though Iago is accused of all these evil deeds, that are not
revealed until the end of the play, it can still be reduced to look like a minute act. Iago can be reduced
to a resourceful intriguer who exposes the hero s weakness to ridicule and devises an appropriate
punishment, says Mehl in Shakespeare s Tragedies: An Introduction. In order to first fool Othello,
Iago must victimize several other people. Iago s success in fooling Othello is but the culmination of a
series of such betrayals that includes the duping of Roderigo, Brabantio, and Cassio. Each duping is
the explanatory image of the other, for in ever case Iago s method and end are the same: he plays on
and teases to life some hitherto controlled and concealed dark passion in his victim. In each case he

for an altercation in the parking lot. Upon my arrival I noticed a female, Ashley Franks, involved in
verbal altercation with a male, Jacque Carter, inside a Kia Sorento, Ga tag number PFJ3945. I exited
my vehicle and met with the victim/complainant Franks. Franks advised me a physical altercation had
taken place inside of the vehicle and Carter had hit/bumped her in the course of the altercation. While
Franks gave detail description about the course of events, I noticed that she was very upset and
disgruntled. There was no physical evidence that indicated and physical altercation had taken place.
Franks stated she needed medical attention because she had high blood pressure. While we waited for
medical personnel to arrive, I conducted a field interview with the individuals at the location. ... Show

across the parking lot. Carter stated he never placed his hands on Franks during the altercation. Franks
advised me she was involved in a verbal altercation with Carter. Once the altercation escalated Carter
lunged towards her and made contact/hit her arm. Franks stated in the process she stopped him from
attacking her. Franks then noticed that Carter became upset and grabbed her bag and tossed them in

Identifying Barriers Of Diversity For Law Enforcement...
Henry Dimitroff
November 3, 2016
Course Project
Introduction:
In the article Identifying Barriers to Diversity in Law Enforcement Agencies by Carl F. Matthies,
Kirsten M. Keller, and Nelson Lim the issue of diversity in the law enforcement workforce is brought
to task. They show through the use of research that law enforcement agencies can do their jobs better
if they resemble the population they are supposed to be protecting. Police community relations are
negatively affected by the disparity of racial composition between agencies and communities
combined with heavy handed tactics. The intentions of this article is to offer a thorough analysis of a
method intended to reduce this disparity. This method is known as barrier analysis which means it
analysis issues or problems such as this (diversity in law enforcement) for specific obstacles. The
intent is to use this knowledge to directly address these obstacles so as to increase diversity in the
ranks of law enforcement.
The article details what it calls barriers in the career lifecycle that result in the impediment of either
hiring or the promotion of a diverse workforce. These barriers can occur at recruitment, hiring, and
promotion stages in the career lifecycle. (Matthies 1) Recruitment barriers include the low numbers of
diverse applicants due to the lack of outreach programs designed to bring awareness of the
employment availability to minorities and women. Hiring barriers include failure to meet standards

A Debate Between Oedipus and Socrates on the Role of Fate
Background
A very important debate that runs in our society is the role of fate in the life of a person. Many
philosophers have chosen to highlight the importance of fate while many others, especially those with
a scientific bent of mind, have chosen to ignore the role of fate. Many people, especially scientists,
believe that fate is non existent and that a man writes his won destiny. They believe that a man s
industry creates his fate and that there are other forces that determine the progression of his life. They
cite the lives of great men and women, who had defied fate and had made a name for themselves in
the society. They believe that a person must use his skills and his resources and fight against all odds
to become successful in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fate is only an imaginary belief that society and culture has bestowed on us. If we look at the origin of
humans, we cans see that there was nothing like fate. Man lived his life according to instincts and
completed his life cycle as his instincts told him to do so. When culture and civilizations made their
mark in the world, they unfortunately also brought in a lot of limitation that has always strived to hold
us back. Fate is one such belief that seeks to restrain us and keep us tied to what the society needs out
of us.
Oedipus: Sir, I beg to differ. The course of my life will always show you that I have lived all my life in
fear of my fate. At every turn of my life, I have tried to avoid the prophecy that always hung above my
head. For example, I ran away from my foster parents during my childhood years fearing that the
prophecy of killing my father and marrying my mother would become true. And look what happened.
Fate eventually took me to my parents and with the help of my ill fated luck I fought and won against
my own father whom I killed. Worse, fate made me marry my mother and mad me to beget my
children from her. What other than fate could conquer the mighty Oedipus who had the world under
his feet? What would not have I conquered if there was nothing like fate? Why did fate make me
commit the grossest sins in the world? Even after I committed those sins why did fate make those
facts public

Caribbean American Women
Carole Boyce Davies discussion on Zora Neale Hurston s essay How It Feels to be Colored Me she
uses posits Hurston s proffering to travel piece of the way with visitors as a new way of thinking about
the periphery in academia . Beginning her chapter Coming to Terms with Theory, Boyce expresses
how outdated and inefficient the current theoretical practices have become. She states that scholars are
intellectually trapped by the hierarchical systems within scholarship. Her main critique comes from
the reality of upcoming scholars having to laboriously quote Euro American male scholars in order to
establish them within their field. Under this standard what we find is that in the constant referencing
of these European scholars the racial and cultural hierarchy of western society is sustained. Boyce
suggests that common favoring of European scholarly contributions reinforces structural biases
towards the consciousness of those in the periphery. As a result, western epistemology continues to
drive current scholarship through its standardization. And, moreover, European theory is falsely
applied to the estranged consciousnesses. The standardization of European scholarship places
limitations on how the marginal subject can articulate its existence. Barbara Christian s The Race for
Theory asks For whom are we doing what we are doing when we do literary criticism? Davies would
respond to this query by stating that current scholarship is written to and for the center. Based

The Rolling Stones Analysis
Documentary Review As a Rolling Stones fan, I thought it would be very interesting to watch and
review the documentary Rock of Ages: Rolling Stones. This full length documentary was produced in
2008 and gives a detailed overview of The Rolling Stones story from the very to beginning to the
present. As with most documentaries, both the bands hardships and triumphs are portrayed. I really
appreciated how the documentary was very raw and shared the major battles the members of The
Rolling Stones had with drug addiction and how it effected them both personally and professionally.

Even though I m a fan of the Rolling Stones, I never really knew their history and how Brian Jones
was the member known for building their fame. It was unfortunate to learn of his personal battle with
drug addiction that lead to the end of his career and eventually his early death shortly after he left the
Rolling Stones. Despite their loss, The Rolling Stones continued on and performed a concert shortly
after in Brian s memory. Not to my surprise, the remaining members continued on a path of struggles
with addiction.
Though they were constantly in the media for all of their scandals, I found it interesting to learn that
their struggles actually helped contribute to their fame, especially with the younger generations. In my
opinion, this set the trend for all of the other rock and roll bands to come. Reflecting on some other
rock and roll bands that come to mind, it seems that they all have one thing in common. That one
thing usually involves drug addiction that opens the door for other unfortunate events. Oddly this
brings them attention from the media that helps create their story and builds

it and how do I get it? .
Before Jesus left, He said to his disciples, You tarry in Jerusalem until you are endued with power
from on high. And He said, You will receive power after that when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.
And then you will be my witnesses, in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria and to the utter most parts of
the earth.
The first thing is power. Now, there are two kinds of power. Jesus said, I have all power in heaven and
earth given unto me. That is a Greek word exousia that means authority.

Now it s me in relation to water, but the difference is incredible in terms of the dimension between a

Now the Holy Spirit takes you and puts you into Jesus when you come to Him. Nobody can come to

Jumpa Lahiri s Interpreter Of Maladies
Interpreter of Maladies is a collection of short stories written by Jumpa Lahiri. From the collection of
stories, the last story, The third and the final continent was especially appealing to me. The story
portrays an Indian man s journey from Calcutta to London and then to America. The most important
aspect of the story is the narration of his arranged marriage with his wife. I believe, by this story the
author portrays the positive side of arrange marriages. First, it is important to see the viewpoint of two
characters towards marriage. For the narrator, an arrange marriage meant something that he had to do
due to social norms. Specifically, when his brother arranged a marriage for him, he thought I regarded
the proposition with neither objection nor enthusiasm. It was a duty expected of me, as it was expected
of every man. (Page 181). In contrast, the wife was pressured to get married by her parents because
her parents thought that she would end up alone. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Describing the letter he received from his wife, the husband narrates, Addressing me by name would
have assumed an intimacy we had not yet discovered. (Page 185). Due to the lack of intimacy, the
husband must have felt pressured to do a lot of work to make the marriage work. However, after his
wife arrives at the airport, he sees her with saree properly fixed rather than dragging on the floor. By
portraying this the author shows the audience that an arrange marriage between two complete
strangers is not as bad as people imagine. Furthermore, the author shows that lack of communication
between the husband and wife is a common issue for arranged marriages. A best example for this can
be seen when the husband asked the wife to get dressed to go out, the wife overdressed for the

Abstract
This paper will discuss the effects perfusion has on the body as well as the multiple body systems that
are effected from poor perfusion. We will be looking at the relationships between profusion as it
relates to ischemic stroke, myocardial infarction, and tuberculosis. This paper will use online journal
entries from EPSCO as well as off line entries from Lewis to help us find a better understanding into
the related topics at hand. Lastly I will discuss stroke in depth as it pertains to my clinical experience
and explain the strong link profusion has on ischemic stroke and the measures used to retain brain
tissue. We will look at research done by Agarwal, Smriti (2015) that looks at the effectiveness and
time saving procedures researched by his team when detecting stroke as well as research done by
Dong, Hongli (2015) that shows a strong correlation between vitamin b12 and folic acid and the
prevention of an ischemic event.

History consists of what is known, remembered and recorded about the past in as objective a way as
possible. Memory can be a fragmented yet still valid perspective on the past which enables History to
fill in the gaps. The concepts of History Memory are featured in the texts, The Queen , a film directed

This is juxtaposed with the scene which features the Royal family s reactions to the news of her death
which presents them in a negative light. Her image is reinforced in the Royal families dialogue; Prince
Phillip says, What s she done now? to which the Queen replies You know what she s like , both
implying their expectation of inappropriate behaviour. This challenges audiences to consider the
conflicting perspectives of Diana and question their own memories.
The idea of challenging audience s memories by presenting people in a different light is also shown in
Kurt Cobain s Suicide Letter . In the letter Cobain uses the technique of rhetorical question, as seen in
the line I m too much of an erratic, moody baby! Do I even have the passion anymore? to reveal his
private yet real persona which uniquely positions readers to challenge their personal and collective
memories of Cobain s persona as a public figure as the public was unaware of his deeply emotional
side as the New York Times wrote when announcing Cobain s death.

moment is creating. The music featured through out The Queen is mostly of a sad and sorrowful tone,
especially when shown with images such as the sea of flowers

The True Destiny Of American Settlers
As children and students we were taught that the Legendary Christopher Columbus founded America.
However history has proven that this alleged discovery is far from the truth. Not only had the Spanish
already settled Florida, but the Native Americans also known as Indians have already inhabited
America. From this awareness of New Found Land English settlers intruded on Native American land
and took over America under what was called manifest destiny. In the 19th century United States,
Manifest Destiny was a belief that was widely believed that the true destiny of American settlers was
to expand and move across the continent to spread American traditions and their institutions, along
with enlightening more primitive nations, also known as the Indians. This destiny clearly was
accomplished and today almost 240 years later there have been many laws and administrative law
cases that has aroused from the accomplishment of Manifest Destiny in regards to Native Americans.
Recently on April 6, 2016 the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit decided a case before
Judges Mary Schroder, Sandra Ikuta, and Morgan Christen. In an Indian law action, The Navajo
Native Americans challenged the National Parks Service s because of their inventory of human
remains and funerary objects previously removed from the Navajo Reservation. The United States
Courts of Appeals reversed the district court s dismissal where the Park Service s decision to inventory

100 Days Of Rejection
Indeed, every person is likely to experience the rejection from the others, which tends to play an
important role in the confidence, the credibility and the courage of one person. By looking at Jia Jiang

First, every variety of heroes must have honor. Honor is important because all heroes go through times
or dangerous situations in which they don t always do everything correctly. For example, a police
officer shoots and/or injures a man because he was in fear of his own life, but it was not the right
move. This officer s supervisor is infuriated with this decision, the officer could have simply called for
backup, being that he was alone when the scenario went down. Even though the officer may not
completely agree, he must honor the chief s decision in what his consequences may be. Also, it is
imperative that all heroes be honorable; however, they do not have to be honored. The people who do
an affectionate deed and demand that people reward is a selfish fool. The hero is a man who will put
their life on the line for others and not assert anyone to honor him. An extraordinary example of this
act would be of Spider Man. Spider Man is a comical superhero who has the fantastic advantages that
a spider attains. Advantages such as webbing, ability to attach himself to walls, and his incredible
spider sense (spider sense is the ability to sense when there is danger coming). This hero jumps into
burning buildings and saves lives, yet he does not require anything in return. Meanwhile, there is a
mad newspaper writer named Jonah Jameson that is infuriated with him and believes he is a fake.
Jameson has all the power he needs; he works at a newspaper company and can easily write badly
about him. However, even though this powerful man is attempting to change people s opinion about
him, he doesn t need people to honor or respect him... he does nothing about the gossiping

  • 2. A Case For Change Htf s It Project Management Process... A Case For Change HTF s IT Project Management Process Standardization Executive Summary This document describes the proposal of creating a new EPMO organization within HTF (Hypothetical Financials) to oversee the standardization of its IT project management processes including those for software development. HTF s (Hypothetical Financials) different LOBs currently follow various flavors of SDLC models for software development and project management processes and it is known the firm was too big to adopt quick process changes. The creation of an EMPO organization is not a trivial efforts and is estimated to cost about 6 million dollars spanning 3 years duration. The initiative will go through annual evaluation and budget planning process ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, currently the firm lacks standard processes around development and project management. Each line of business has its own proprietary or derived methodologies built on top of the Waterfall model. There s not an official standard at firm level nor there s an EMPO like organization responsible for standardization. The level of maturity in the project management process is different too across different LOBs. For example, some LOBs requires project managers to write business cases (BC) and go through approval processes before a project can be created inside a project management system. Some LOBs do not or simply adopted manual process in the approval of business cases. That means that the business case are not required to be entered in the BC system. Some LOBs have standard project template for PMs to use and others do not. Another example of varied maturity is around the artifact/document management. Different tools are used for documents (e.g. requirements and design documents). Some LOBs are using Microsoft SharePoint as a central repository but some simply use a network drive. Developers also follow different processes in managing source code. Some use standard tools such as Subversion to manage source code and following the best practices, some simply keeps their source code on the development servers. As a global financial organization, HTF s various lines of businesses (LOB) have been operating in a very independent way. Each LOB also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Satanic Verses Analysis In The Satanic Verses, numerous symbols illustrate how human nature is the source of the evil. Furthermore, the symbolic significance that pertains to the main character also shows how all individuals have both good and bad qualities. A repeating motif in the book is the reference to the play Othello . Skapearses famous play follows the life of the Moor Othello after is marriage to Desdemona. Iago, a loyal friend of Othello, was furious that the Moor overlooked him for a promotion, sparking his lust for revenge. Iago devised a plan to persuade the King that his had been having an affair with his trusted friend Cassio. Iago s actions resulted in the Moor killing Desdemona. After learning the truth, Othello committed suicide. The references to the play foreshadow the ending of the novel but also gives further explanations to the actions of Gibreel. The first mentions of Othello only occurred to criticize Shakespeare because he couldn t spell (256). The primary reference occurs when Gibreel wondered about the creation of evil, why it grows, how it takes unilateral possession of a many sided human soul. Or, let s say: the enigma of Iago (439). Gibreel continues by denying his allegations saying he s, no match for the moor (439). Gibreel turns out to me more naive than the moor because the events that occur in Othello are mirrored in the novel. Gibreel assumes the role of Othello, Saladin Iago, and Gibreel s love interest Allie Cone, Desdemona. Gibreel inherited the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My Parent s Relationship With My Parents Essay Melissa and Travis Blackmore, are two of the kindest and hardest working individuals that I have ever met, and I am lucky enough to call them my parents. My parents have been married for 21 years and while they do engage in the occasional argument over dirty dishes, I have never doubted that my parents love and respect each other. One observation that I have made about my parent s relationship is how they make sacrifices for each other so that they can create the best home environment for my sister and I. Currently both of my parents work outside of the home, although my mother used to teach preschool from home before I came to Liberty. My mother currently works as a third grade teacher in Henrico, Virginia, and sells Doterra essential oils from home. My father has worked at DuPont for as long as I can remember although he has worked several sections and jobs within the company. Currently my dad works as a head maintenance engineer at DuPont. Since I am the youngest child, my leaving home was a big adjustment for my parents, especially my mom who was used to spending the majority of her day with me working on homeschooling and doing activities with me. After I left home, my mother decided to stop teaching preschool at home and went back to working out of the home. While my parents miss my sister and I very much, they have found joy in spending time working on their relationships with each other and with friends and family as well as with those who work with them. • 9. The Myth Of The Latin Woman By Judith Ortiz Cofer How do you deal with stereotypes towards yourself or others that have experienced them? People are stereotyped by their physical features and by the information we know about a certain group. They are judged by their physical features instead of seeing what they are really capable of doing. Usually not being involved in such a diverse community can cause that because they are accustomed to what s near them. Exploring and learning about others will help shatter stereotypes. We ll explore in Sucheng Chan and Judith Ortiz Cofer essays on how they ve been stereotyped and what they ve done to shatter the quo. People are stereotyped by their physical features and by the information we know about a certain group. In a chapter in The Myth Of The Latin Woman an essay by Judith Ortiz Cofer, the author speaks about women seeing as sexual objects. In the chapter, she says The males were given an opportunity to admire the women and to express their admiration in the form of pirops. The men would see the women as sexual objects and not as human beings. The way she and friends dressed shouldn t give men the right to harass them publicly. I thought you latin girls were suppose to mature early was a phrase one of her boyfriends told her when she was young (111,113). • 11. How Myringotomy Is A Surgical Procedure Myringotomy is a surgical procedure in which a small incision is made in the eardrum (the tympanic membrane), usually in both ears. The English word is derived from myringa, modern Latin for drum membrane, and tome, Greek for cutting. It is also called myringocentesis, tympanotomy, tympanostomy of the tympanic membrane. Fluid in the middle ear can be drawn out through the incision. Ear tubes, or tympanostomy tubes, are small tubes open at both ends that are inserted into the incisions in the eardrums during myringotomy. This princess culture suggests that despite other defining characteristics, a females most valuable asset is her beauty above all else. These Disney movies also imply that girls should be sweet despite the lousy hand they were dealt. The idea of a library is something built from personal experiences and relies on nostalgia. But libraries today are not what they were in the past, nor can they be in the future, Libraries need to take the time to ask hard questions about how their patrons are seeking knowledge and using information differently than they have in the past. It s supposed to be the voice of freedom: Get out there and improvise, and take chances, and don t be a perfectionist leave that to the classical musicians . In this explication, David Brubeck views jazz as a form of free speech; giving people free reign to express themselves in any way, shape, or form without the fear of being denigrated by the general public. The Beat Generation was a promising time filled with many significant authors, poets, and artists who were not afraid to express themselves and their beliefs in their works of art. As these works of art were continuously produced and distributed, artists turn to many sources for inspiration, like jazz, to put into their work. That said, jazz s free flowing characteristics of taking chances and improvising catches the eyes of many poets by inspiring them to express themselves in their poems; those of which include Amiri Baraka, Bob Kaufman, and Ted Joans. To begin, jazz s unique extemporizing aspects incites Amiri Baraka to proclaim his conviction on the worldly problems that we face in his eminent poem, Afrikan Revolution. Presented on February 4, 1973 after Amilear Cabral s funeral, Amiri Baraka expresses his concerns on the differences among the people in society, specifically, people of African descent and anyone who is suffering from oppression. Caribbean American Women Carole Boyce Davies discussion on Zora Neale Hurston s essay How It Feels to be Colored Me she uses posits Hurston s proffering to travel piece of the way with visitors as a new way of thinking about the periphery in academia . Beginning her chapter Coming to Terms with Theory, Boyce expresses how outdated and inefficient the current theoretical practices have become. She states that scholars are intellectually trapped by the hierarchical systems within scholarship. Her main critique comes from the reality of upcoming scholars having to laboriously quote Euro American male scholars in order to establish them within their field. Under this standard what we find is that in the constant referencing of these European scholars the racial and cultural hierarchy of western society is sustained. Boyce suggests that common favoring of European scholarly contributions reinforces structural biases towards the consciousness of those in the periphery. As a result, western epistemology continues to drive current scholarship through its standardization. And, moreover, European theory is falsely applied to the estranged consciousnesses. The standardization of European scholarship places limitations on how the marginal subject can articulate its existence. From the collection of stories, the last story, The third and the final continent was especially appealing to me. The story portrays an Indian man s journey from Calcutta to London and then to America. The most important aspect of the story is the narration of his arranged marriage with his wife. I believe, by this story the author portrays the positive side of arrange marriages. First, it is important to see the viewpoint of two characters towards marriage. For the narrator, an arrange marriage meant something that he had to do due to social norms. Specifically, when his brother arranged a marriage for him, he thought I regarded the proposition with neither objection nor enthusiasm. It was a duty expected of me, as it was expected of every man. (Page 181). In contrast, the wife was pressured to get married by her parents because her parents thought that she would end up alone. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Describing the letter he received from his wife, the husband narrates, Addressing me by name would have assumed an intimacy we had not yet discovered. (Page 185). Due to the lack of intimacy, the husband must have felt pressured to do a lot of work to make the marriage work. However, after his wife arrives at the airport, he sees her with saree properly fixed rather than dragging on the floor. By portraying this the author shows the audience that an arrange marriage between two complete strangers is not as bad as people imagine. Furthermore, the author shows that lack of communication between the husband and wife is a common issue for arranged marriages. A best example for this can be seen when the husband asked the wife to get dressed to go out, the wife overdressed for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
