7. SUMMARY OF THE ACTIVITY
The Wilderness Survival Camp is created not only to promote leadership and survival
value, but the love of nature which a value that lacks in today’s society. Therefore, the constrains
that the students might face in this camp would be using limited resources available around them to
make fire and also to search water for consummation, construct and deconstruct shelters, navigating
around the area using compass, tying ropes and knots correctly should they stumble across a path
that require them to rope together, basic first aid and basic self-defense. Besides, these activities
would test the students’ capabilities in managing their teams, listening to their team members for
opinions and ideas and making the right decision, delegating the task among their team members as
well as directing the team in solving the problem creatively. The practicality of this camp is that the
students will learn extra knowledge which they will never learn outside of their course scope. This
camp will also teach the students on how to maintain a right mind in critical situation and making a
decision not only in surviving the wilderness but also in their everyday life.
