- 5. The WildernessSurvival Camp is created to promote leadership, survival value, and love for nature. Most rescues happen within the first 72-hours. This introductory course to wilderness survival teaches how to use these critical hours to stabilize situation and assist rescue. During this camp, participants will be exposed to the techniques associated with the six essential concepts of wilderness survival: shelter, fire craft, food finding, water purification, off-trail navigation and rescue signalling. This fun 2-day course gives participants the option of sleeping overnight in their own hand-made shelters and reviews important survival gear and equipment.
