August 17, 2017; also known as my first day of officially naming myself a high school student at
Lindbergh High School. I walked into my fourth hour, English 1 Honors, not knowing what I
would encounter within the next four months of my academic career. English (until now)
remained my best and most favorite subject ever since I could remember, however, this year I
began to feel the challenge I have always needed, especially with the new grading system.
Standard based grading consists of grading each individual category us students consistently remain
expected to learn, and master this year. Categories like speaking and listening, reading, writing, and
habits of learning . Throughout semester one, I showed an increase of my weaknesses within the
categories of speaking and listening and habits of learning while I showed an increase of my
strengths in the categories reading and writing.
To begin, the first semester of my high school experience as a whole seemed very stressful. By this
I mean, completing my work along with adapting to listening to the new teaching styles and
getting over my biggest fear speaking in front of the class. Although, anything takes time to get
used to, English illustrates a perfect example. As I stated before, the standard based grading
system needed some time to get used to, along with the expectations and requirements of honors
versus regular. As time went on, my grades show that I never really got used to this. During term
one, my habits of learning average ended with an average of 91%. At this time, I realized the
level of difficulty English would endure, so I put more effort into it... at the time. During term
two, my habits of learning average went down to a 76%. The biggest reason, while in English
there consisted a large amount of classwork, it meant an increased amount of classwork for other

Introduction It is noteworthy that the legal and political systems are fundamentally different in
the first place due to the diverse perspectives of the world, and they have developed into two
separate entities with their own purposes and model in the society. Therefore, it is unlikely that
they share common philosophy and practices. However, like most other disciplines in the society,
sometimes law and politics overlap to achieve a common goal, sometimes they complement each
other and at other times, they contradict each other. For example, the differentiation of
adversaries has no ground in the law and politics dominates over the rule of law when this occurs.
Therefore, the goals, philosophy and practices in both systems do not entirely agree, hence

Cassius Speech Analysis
In Act I, Scene 2, the purpose of Cassis speech is to persuade Brutus to distrust Caesar, and to
join him in a conspiracy against Caesar. In his speech to Brutus, Cassius uses a variety of
persuasive and rhetorical devices to persuade Brutus to join his cause against Caesar. Cassius is
desperate to have Brutus on his side because of his close relation to Caesar and great respect and
trust from the people of Rome. The tone of Cassius speech to Brutus is introduced with Cassius
appealing to Brutus sense of responsibility towards Rome. Cassius tells Brutus that he has, Heard
where many of the best respect in Rome, except immortal Caesar, speaking of Brutus and
groaning underneath this age s yoke, have wished that noble Brutus had his eyes (I.ii.64 68).
Cassius tells Brutus that he is admired by Rome, appealing to Brutus value of putting Rome
ahead of himself. Cassius uses knowledge of this value to his advantage in his speech, insisting
that killing Caesar will be for the good of Rome. Cassius also introduces his speech by
persuading Brutus that he is honorable and can be trusted. Cassius tells Brutus that, Honor is
the subject of my story (I.ii.99). This appeals to the speaker Cassius credibility and has an
ethical appeal on Brutus, or ethos. This appeal is effective because it connects with something
that Brutus values, honor. In Cassius speech to Brutus, he uses a comparison comparing Caesar
to a Colossus saying, Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world like a Colossus, and we petty
men walk under his huge legs and peep about to find ourselves dishonorable graves (I.ii.142 144).
Cassius is using an analogy comparing Caesar to Colossus, which was a large statue. Cassius
again uses Brutus value of honor to persuade when he tells Brutus that if Caesar is in power, he
and Brutus will die dishonorable deaths. During the time period, an honorable death was very
important to noble Romans, especially Brutus. When Cassius is comparing the two names Brutus
and Caesar, he uses the strategy of asking rhetorical questions. Brutus and Caesar: what should be

At age 10, I would hide notes in her yard, I would stick deep within the bushes or far within the

Having a good understanding of your professional strengths and weaknesses is imperative to having
a successful career. It is also important to know what types of positions and projects would allow
you to utilize those strengths to benefit your career. Taking the GLEAM.org Network Assessment
and Motivational Style Assessment were very helpful in identifying some of those strengths and
weakness in my professional environment. The Networkassessment was especially interesting
because it was such a unique type of assessment. Both the size and density of my network was
defined as medium, which was a little bit surprising to me. Since over half of my network
contacts listed are coworkers, I was expecting the density and size to be small. While the size

This paper will explore the visual disorder, cataract, by providing a definition of this condition and
discussing the incidence and prevalence of this condition in Australia, India and Germany. It will
also explore the treatment and prevention strategies as well as roles of two health professionals in
providing these strategies.
It is estimated over 285 million people worldwide are visually impaired with one of the major
causes being cataract at 33% (figure 1A)(Pascolini Mariotti, 2012). Cataract is considered to be the
leading cause of blindness (51%) in the world (figure 1B) (Pascolini Mariotti, 2012). (ref 1)
According to Khanna, Lindfield, Ngounou, and Vishwanath (2012), 90% of cataract blindness
occurs in low and middle income countries.

World Health Organization (n.d.) defines cataract as the clouding of the lens of the eyes, which
prevents clear vision. Although most cases are related to the ageing process, occasionally children
can be born with the condition, or a cataract may develop after eye injuries, inflammation, and some

The Secret Intelligence Service was derived by the Secret Service Bureau which was founded in
1909. The bureau was a joint initiative by the Admiralty (authority responsible for the command of
the Royal Navy in the UK until 1964) and the War Office (department of the British Government

called arthrogryposis. Arthrogryposis is a disability where the joints don t fully develop in the

environments, lighting, and simulation of physical effects and integration of CG characters in a

Before you begin, always wash your hands. First we begin by blending with the wooden spoon, in
