How effective is the combination of
your main production and your
ancillary tasks?
Billboard - Masthead
Throughout my magazine I have written my masthead in the same font, the
reason for this is that it will make it recognisable to my audience and creates
a sense of continuity. The only slight difference is that sometimes I had to
change the size of the masthead slightly to make it fit in with the layout.
House Style
Across both my ancillary tasks, front cover, advert and double page spread I
used the same house style. The reason for is to generate a sense on
continuity and to make it recognisable to readers of the magazine. The way I
did this was by using the same fonts, layout and colour schemes. This can be
shown below.
Codes and Conventions
Looking at the codes and conventions helped me to create my magazine,
website and billboard. For example researched showed me that on the
billboard there is usually an image of a front cover of one of the magazine,
therefore when creating my magazine I included an image of my magazine.
Doing this also generates a sense of continuity across my magazine. Looking
at these codes and conventions also showed me that most billboards include
a website link on the bottom right hand side and sometimes include the logos
of the social networking sites that its on the bottom left hand side.
Looking at the codes and conventions for my website was also extremely
helpful when creating my own website as it provided me with the specific
information that I needed to include on my web page. It also helped me to
decided what layouts work best and the best colour schemes to use.
Website- Masthead
Originally when creating my website I wanted to use the same font as the
masthead on my magazine and billboard to keep consistent and generate a
sense of continuality however the piece of software that I used to create
my website did not allow me to use this font, therefore I used the most
similar font that was available and made sure that it was still written in the
same colour and size.

Website- Masthead Originally when creating my website I wanted to use the same font as the masthead on my magazine and billboard to keep consistent and generate a sense of continuality however the piece of software that I used to create my website did not allow me to use this font, therefore I used the most similar font that was available and made sure that it was still written in the same colour and size.
