2.  This is about knowing the likeliness
(probability or possibility) of an event to
occur successfully.
 Could be established by evaluating the
advantages and disadvantages of staging a
particular event.
 The criteria for evaluation may vary according to
the purpose; existing and needed resources
and degree of support from stakeholders.

3.  Is the event a good idea?
 Do we have the skills to plan and run the event?
 Is the host community supportive?
 Do we have the infrastructure in the community?
 Can we get a venue at a price we can afford?
 Will the event attract an audience?
 Will it attract media support?

4. SWOT Analysis

5.  It is traditional, and important to do a SWOT
Analysis for every event.
 This involves analysing the strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities and threats
of the event or event concept.

6.  An Environmental (S.W.O.T.) Analysis
is recommended to identify points
needing improvements.
 This is in compliance or accordance to the general
aims of an event manager which is to:
 improve feasibility
 reduce risk

the volunteers, the specialist knowledge of the

9.  Are the external favourable things that may
occur, such as new sponsorships or
unexpected positive publicity.

and poor crowd behavior would all be
classified as threats
