The document discusses feedback received on a video essay about the documentary "The Social Dilemma". The author notes that while most feedback was constructive, identifying things like needing more editing styles and inclusion of screenshots, some feedback was not helpful or detailed. The author concludes they gained understanding on how to improve but that what they produced met the criteria and was enough given it was rushed.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

7. By Devika Girish
This is an already existing product written by Devika Girish, an article that
goes over The Social Dilemma as a documentary. This is similar to my own
product as I was also talking about the similar themes that this article
references. The overall article includes more detailed information
surrounding the director Jeff Orlowski than I had done. This is because I
wanted to mainly focus on the product itself rather than who directed it. The
article also references interviews that Jeff Orlowski had done to promote and
talk about the documentary. This is something that I could’ve done, since it
fits in with the theme of how the documentary was advertised and would
allow me to explore the different ways that the company did this.
Similarities: A similarity of my product and this already existing product is
that they, obviously, both talk about the same similar theme within the
documentary. However we both also reference how the documentary doesn’t
go far enough and talk about the true reproductions that social media can
have on peoples mental health.
Differences: Although both of our products talk about the same themes
within our own products, the existing product does further research into the
director Jeff Orlowski’s films and compares them to this documentary. The
existing product comes to the conclusion that the film is an overall solid
documentary surrounding social media whilst my product disagrees.

13. I think that overall the peer feedback from my audience was of a decent standard. However I would’ve liked a much more
detailed analysis of my work and how I could’ve improved on it rather than just seeing ‘it was good’ or ‘add some visuals’. I
think that the majority of my feedback gave me a good enough understanding of what I needed to improve on (i.e., a main
issue that a lot of my audience would’ve wanted to see was some more editing styles such as experimenting with
PremierPro to see if I could make my video essay look more visually pleasing. There was also some feedback on adding
screenshots of the information that I had researched beforehand to help showcase my points that I was talking about).
However there was some feedback that wasn’t helpful at all. They gave one word answers, seemingly gave no interest in my
product whatsoever and didn’t elaborate on any of the points that they made for my feedback (I didn’t agree with any of the
feedback that this particular person gave me since they didn’t even bother to try giving proper feedback).
I think that the majority of my feedback has helped me to gain an understanding as to what went well and what went
wrong as well as what I could do to improve it. I think that there was a lot more that I could’ve done with my product (i.e.,
take the time to find more footage, see if I could add any effects from PremierPro that could make my product look more
visually appealing) however, in the end, since it was a rushed final product I still think that what I did was enough and
meets with the criteria needed.

What was the topic of the film/what
was it about?
How good was the film at exploring
that topic? Are there any other ways
this could have been explored? Could
you suggest any developments
regarding how the topic was
represented?
What was your favourite thing about
this film?
What did you enjoy about the film?
Reference specific sequences, shots,

specific content. Or what would you
suggest adding if they had more time?
Consider additional shooting, special
effects, colour grading, etc etc.
Female 19
A documentary on Netflix called 'The
Social Dilemma'.
I think that the video essay could've
explored different aspects of the
documentary e.g., compare it to other
films/documentaries and talk about
the similarities and differences as well
as how it was advertised on social
media. Editing techniques
I liked how you pieced all of your
work together i.e., I liked the use of
stock footage and how it fit in with
what you were saying.
I would want to see a comparison to
other films that are related to the
same topic and talk about the
similarities, differences and how each
film handled the topic.
Male 21 The documentary the social dilemma.
The topic was obviously researched
well and seemed to understand and
know the information that was being
presented. Could have done with
some more visuals other than shots of
the movie, maybe some statistics or
interesting editing if you don't have a
actor in it. The script/story/content
The subject and script were very well
done.
The information is all there maybe
work on how it all looks, add some
flashy scenes etc. to make it more fun.
Male 21
how the film social dilemma explores
social media
it was pretty good all things
considered. the vocal acting was on
point and the footage was quite good The script/story/content The vocal acting
perhaps more focus on the actual
editing of the video
Male 19 how dangerous social media was
Very good. I like how it showed clips
of the documentary The performances/presenting The narration Talk louder
Male 22 The Social Dilemma film
I understood what was discussed and
know more about the film now. Editing techniques It was nicely edited together
Some original footage rather than just
found stuff from trailers etc would
have been nice to see. Maybe the
presenter on screen for the footage or
of real people using social media.
