The document discusses the use of various media technologies in the production of a music video. Adobe Premier Pro was used for video editing to trim shots, sync them to music, and export the final video, though there were some issues with quality and syncing. Adobe Photoshop was utilized for image editing and creation of promotional materials like a digital booklet and print ad, allowing for placement of images and text as well as effects and removal of backgrounds. Blogger, YouTube, Facebook, and Prezi were online tools used respectively for tracking progress, sharing the video for feedback, gathering comments within a targeted Facebook group, and creating visually appealing online presentations, though some had slow loading or reliability issues.
A new study, or rather a study to create a study, was announced on May 15, 2014 by the Boston-based Health Effects Institute. The new initiative will first draw together all of the "known" research about the potential health impacts from shale drilling (by end of 2014), and then create the framework for a study of what we "don't know"--that will be ready sometime in 2015.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
1. Evaluation Question 4
How did you use media technologies in the
construction and research, planning and evaluation
stages?
2. Video Editing – Adobe Premier Pro
• In order to make my music video the same quality as a professional music video, I
had to make use of video editing software
• Premier Pro allowed me to trim my recorded shots, place them in order and sync
them up with the backing music.
• The software was simple to use once the basics were learned. The timeline
allowed the audio to be synced with the video very easily with only a little trial
and error.
• It could cause frustration sometimes due to running slowly or trimming clips too
much/little. We also had trouble with exporting our video. The first time the
quality was too low to reflect a real finished music video, and the second time an
audio de-sync occurred which was not noticed until later on.
3. Image Editing/Ancillary task creation – Adobe Photoshop
• To create my digipak and print advert, I utilized Adobe Photoshop. An image
editing program used by professional photographers, designers and artists.
• Photoshop allowed me to place my images and text exactly where I envisioned
them. It also gave me access to photo filters and effects to create a unique
visual style.
• It gave me a huge amount of freedom with my creativity. There was an array of
tools to make use of such as the ‘magic wand’ for removing backgrounds of
images and the filter gallery for applying the aforementioned unique visual
effects. It also allowed me to keep both my digipak and print advert open at
once so I could refer between them when creating my house style and making
sure they were coherent.
• The sheer amount of content Photoshop had caused me to get lost for a while
when I first started using it. It was difficult to learn so I had to refer to online
tutorials. This meant in the beginning progress was slow, and that meant I had
less time to tweak my products once they were complete.
4. Online Technologies
• Blogger is very simple and allowed me to quickly upload updates to my work and the finished products themselves, all in one place.
• Blogger’s own word processor which was used to create these posts was often annoying to use. The images could not be resized freely
and would often create formatting errors such as moving text.
• Youtube was simple to use and allowed us to receive comments on our video for feedback. Youtube videos can also be shared easily.
• The upload times were long, but other than that there were no problems with Youtube.
• Facebook allowed us to create a group. To this group we could invite friends who we thought fell into our target audience. They could
comment on our Prezis and other work to give us feedback
• We could only invite friends to the group, so were limited in the people we could ask.
• Prezi gave me a very unique way to create presentations, so I was not limited to word processors and slide shows. It’s easy to make
visually appealing presentations that are also very informative
• However, being hosted on the web rather than downloaded, Prezi was very slow at times. Saving was also unreliable, and there were
multiple cases where I lost small amounts of work thanks to it not saving.
As well as installed software, we made use of online technologies.
• Blogger – To keep track of progress and upload finished work
• Youtube – To upload our rough cut, feedback and final video, as well as watch tutorials for Photoshop and Premier
• Facebook – Another way of receiving feedback for our work
• Prezi – Online presentation software with a lot of freedom
