What does a production company do?
 A production company makes films and television
programmes. For example, in Bristol there are two or three
production companies; Aardman animations who made the
famous Wallace and Gromit series, and Studio 59 who
produce documentaries such as Casualty.
The idea of a distributor
 The process of making a film available for viewing. The
distributor is different from the production company. They
are able to set a release date for the film available to the
public for viewing. 20th Century fox is an example of a famous
distributor.
Where the money comes from in a film
like ours
 If this film were to be released, then it would most probable
be funded by the national lottery. This is because we would
not be able to afford to create and distribute this film and the
national lottery would be able to help us with the funding of
our film. It is not up to Hollywood standard as of yet, and will
not be recognised as good from distributors like that.
Various people named in the title credits
 There may be famous people in the title credits of the film.
This is because it can get the audience of the film interacted
to try to watch your film, and if you see a recognisable,
famous name, then the audience may like that actor or
actress and will continue to watch. This can get the audience
attracted.
Jobs appeared in the titles
 Actors; Editor; producer; distributor; director
 We do not have any distributors because our film has not
been on sale through DVDs, so that’s the only job title that
we do not have in the title. Despite this, we have the other
four job titles, the jobs liable in our film who cooperated to
produce this piece.
What film is yours similar to?
 Our film is very similar to the Sightseers (2012) film. This is
because it is a low budget, independent British produced film
within the comedy horror genre. The two actors in this film
start to eat everyone on the caravan park they live on, acting
as cannibals. This is seen as humorous by the audience who
have watched it. The production company for this film is
StudioCanal, Film4, BFI, Big talk productions and Rook films.
The distributors for this film are Vendetta and Academy Two
to name a few.

  • 1. What institution wold distribute your media product and why? EVALUATION QUESTION 3
  • 2. What does a production company do?  A production company makes films and television programmes. For example, in Bristol there are two or three production companies; Aardman animations who made the famous Wallace and Gromit series, and Studio 59 who produce documentaries such as Casualty.
  • 3. The idea of a distributor  The process of making a film available for viewing. The distributor is different from the production company. They are able to set a release date for the film available to the public for viewing. 20th Century fox is an example of a famous distributor.
  • 4. Where the money comes from in a film like ours  If this film were to be released, then it would most probable be funded by the national lottery. This is because we would not be able to afford to create and distribute this film and the national lottery would be able to help us with the funding of our film. It is not up to Hollywood standard as of yet, and will not be recognised as good from distributors like that.
  • 5. Various people named in the title credits  There may be famous people in the title credits of the film. This is because it can get the audience of the film interacted to try to watch your film, and if you see a recognisable, famous name, then the audience may like that actor or actress and will continue to watch. This can get the audience attracted.
  • 6. Jobs appeared in the titles  Actors; Editor; producer; distributor; director  We do not have any distributors because our film has not been on sale through DVDs, so that’s the only job title that we do not have in the title. Despite this, we have the other four job titles, the jobs liable in our film who cooperated to produce this piece.
  • 7. What film is yours similar to?  Our film is very similar to the Sightseers (2012) film. This is because it is a low budget, independent British produced film within the comedy horror genre. The two actors in this film start to eat everyone on the caravan park they live on, acting as cannibals. This is seen as humorous by the audience who have watched it. The production company for this film is StudioCanal, Film4, BFI, Big talk productions and Rook films. The distributors for this film are Vendetta and Academy Two to name a few.
