This document discusses budget considerations and distribution strategy for the film "Conjecture". 2. Small or big Budget?
Our budget is small due to the fact
that our film does not require large
explosions. Though modern thriller
uses many explosions e.g.: Bourne
Trilogy, James bond, Fast and
Furious 7 etc... Our aim for
Conjecture is to re-create the
“thrill” for the audience through
only music.
The reason why we wanted to go for
a small budget is also because it is
risky, and may loose profit rather
then gain. A example of this was
“battleships” which spent billions of
dollars to make the CGI good.
However, the film was unsuccessful
which made the company in serious
dept.

3. Handling the profit
The reason being why being a small budget company is because it prevents us from
being in dept, as well as being able to manage our profit once he movie is started to
gain profit. In addition, we are also an independent company therefore everything is
done on our own. This is because, like actors, all the staff members which was involved
in the production should get paid a certain amount. By being a small company may
reduce us to big name actors, however it can also give all the members a fair amount of
wage.

4. Distribution
In terms

because in holly-
wood, there are
far too great of
competition as well
as big name companies,
because of this, by
staying in the local
region, it allows as for

and is a good place to start.

5. Comparison
In comparison to the film which influenced us, Broune Trilogy, we have only taken into
account the chase scenes and how they have
constructed their open titles. Furthermore, Bourne
Trilogy, had been distributed worldwide, in
comparison to us – only aimed at EU. Furthermore,
Bourne had more budget then our film as their
film had more effects as well as expensive props
such as: Boats.

6. T I T L E S
During the opening scene of Conjecture, we had a series of names which came up to show
the audience who has done what. Firstly we had the title of the movie first then the actors
which is followed on by the roles which everyone took part in, e.g.: Cameraman, music,
editing etc...
This order had been research thoroughly because of the fact that our film did not have any
well known actors, which meant the actors had all the same screen time of their name, as
well as the editors and producers. The title of the film came first because, it were to come
at the end it would seem like a trailer then an opening scene. Furthermore, usually in
some films the directors name can come up first depending on how big they are in the
society, e.g.: “Michael Bay”.

7. What producer would make our film?
Personally I want Warner Bro’s to produce Conjecture. This is because, they are a well known
producer as well as a distributer and had successful films in the past which was produced by
them. E.g.: Harry Potter.
However this is if it were to made by a professional studio, since we are independent, we
would prefer if it were to be an independent producer. Our film is low budget therefore,
big names like 20th Century, Warner Bros, Universal etc.. Would not be useful to us as they
produce well known films made by directors as well as films with lots of CGI or Special Effects.
