Discussion of your production
company name and logo and the
          role of such company
We chose the titles ‘BearGate’ and ‘Twisted souls’ to mimic well known
production companies, Lionsagate and Twisted pictures, that specialize
in the horror genre. To represent these production companies we used a
specific serif typeface, c har l emagne s t d bol d that was in block
capitals. We used the colour white when implementing the text into our
film as it contrasted against the imagery that was in black and white.

What does the production
       company do?
Our production company handles elements of fundraising, budgeting and
money. Scripting, scheduling and staff organisation are also major roles
that a production company takes on. If our film were to genuinely be
produced then these companies would play an exceptional role in
filming and the end result. The actors in our piece are very inexperienced,
if our film were to be released then this aspect would have been
scheduled and organised by our production companies. However, if we
had a budget for filming then out casting would more likely be
specifically chosen for the genre and include actors that are well
respected. The production companies, if put into practice, would play a
huge role within the piece and many aspects would be different if our
   film was budgeted.

The idea of a distributor
and that might be and why
We believe that if our film were to be distributed,
then film4 would be our distributors. This is
because even if our film were to realistically be
distributed then we would aim for a low budget
film intended for a predominantly British
audience and therefore film4 would be a suitable
distributor. Our film would not be intended for
worldwide or mass distribution and Film4
specialize in in this and therefore would focus
more on television distribution for a smaller
audience. Some of the films that they have
             distributed before are:
           • Submarine
           • Final destination 5
           • Four lions
           • Awakening
           • Napoleon Dynamite
           • Anchorman

Where the money might
       have come from?
To fund our film we would hope that connections from our distributors and
production companies would take interest and therefore contribute
money to our film. An example of this would be channel4 taking interest
in our film and therefore contributing a sum of money with the hope that
they will gain a part of the profit. Individuals may also take interest in our
film and individually contribute with the same intentions as larger
    companies.

Why are the various people are not named
               in the titles?
The actors of our film were not put into the title sequence because of the
      following reasons:
2. The actors of our film are not famous due to the low budget and
therefore do not require putting in. Some major films put these actors in
e.g. Simon Pegg but this is for fans of the actor to recognize him.
3. Another reason for doing this is so that the viewer does not get
      distracted by the titles shown.
4. Our group were going to put the names at the end of the film so that
people knew who the unfamiliar actors were and therefore
researching and becoming new fans. With doing this allows other film
companies to spot the potential in these actors for there films.

04/22/12 7
What your film is similar to
                    ‘institutionally’ ?
The film that is similar to our film institutionally is the ‘Awakening’ this is a low
budget film and British this means that our film screened on TV along side the
institution film4; allowing a wider range of viewers. Our film is a small
independent film known as left field. With having this, the showing of this film
would be in indie cinema’s around the UK allowing a small group of people
   to view the film.

Another way our film could be presented is through new ways of viewing a film
on demand this could be a route for our film, such as Curzon, Love Film etc.
This would be similar to ‘The Shining’ which is available on Love film; these
are available to buy and watch films from different appliances that are
connected to the internet such as Xbox, PlayStation 3, and loads more.
The Video on Demand is gradually getting more popular which means a better
profit and low running cost. Video on Demand has more profit on the
provider, but cinema takes more of the profit and less to the provider.
