What kind of media institution might
distribute your media product and why?
 After doing some research I feel that it would be best
if a small independent film making studio was to
distribute our media product as we would not have
enough money to go up to a distribution company
such as Paramount or LionsGate and ask them to
distribute our film. This overall would lead to a
smaller marketing and distribution campaign as we
would not be able to use high end marketing
campaigns such as synergizing with a large brand or
having multi-channel adverts.
Production Company
 The production company we would use are:
Warp Films
This would be due to them having some mainstream
attention but still being classed as a small, independent
company. This would be beneficial as they could spend
extra money on marketing and distributing our film.
Distribution Techniques
 One of the main techniques we could use includes the
distribution of our film through the internet. This includes
getting deals with streaming services such as Netflix and
Now TV to put the film onto their sites. This would give us
a much higher chance at people viewing our film as most
people (especially teenagers) use these shows for the
main way to view new shows or films. Another technique
we could use is through getting our film on to a DVD and
being allowed to put them into many different electronic
shops throughout the UK. This would then get the
attention of the older generation that aren’t as tech savvy
as the younger generation. This also the gets the
attention of our target audiences through two different
means of distribution.
Marketing Techniques
 There aren’t many marketing techniques we could
use as most of the high end techniques would
require a large amount of money. We could try to
make dealings with YouTube about putting a small
trailer on before a video starts. We could also create
a small ad campaign that could go to some local
radio stations and place advertisements within some
newspapers.
Our Own Efforts
 As we finished our film, we were then introduced to
a Media Showcase in which our film will be shown a
long with everyone else’s film. For the planning of
this showcase I created tickets that invited people to
come view our films. Tom then created a poster to
alert people to the showcase. Harry also created a
program that allowed everyone to see what would
be shown during the showcase.
