distribute your media product and why?
We chose Monarch as our selected company to distribute our
film as they are an Independent company that typically distribute
horror/thriller films. It has distributed The Maze which is a action
thriller/horror film and Vampire diaries which is a psychological
horror, both within the past ten years. This is why it is suitable for
our film as it distributes our genre and is an Independent
company meaning it is used to dealing with low budget/low
resourced films. Due to the small budget the ability to attract a
wide audience, would be difficult. Because of its small reputation
it would only be released in selected cinemas around the U.K,
then if it gets a decent amount of box-office sales then you can
increase the mount of screens it is shown in.

2. Our Films Marketing
• The marketing would have to be aimed at a specific audience
of young adults, we could advertise are film through
newspaper adverts, but primarily through social media, if
people see our film on a social networking site for example
twitter, we would give the links to different websites and viral
ads, this is a cheap and effective way of advertising a film. We
don’t have the budget to advertise big special effects and that
the latest equipment of CGI has been used or that we have big
name actors included in our film, this would be a big selling
point for any film as specific actors/actresses have individual
fan bases.

3. A local Independent company
• If my film was distributed by a company such as Warp Films,
then it would have to be marketed to a specific audience to
get maximum profit. Possibly adverts in the newspaper and
links to websites relating to the film on social media would be
the most appropriate forms of marketing as this would be an
affected and cheap way of letting people know about the film.
You can also get the audience involved with your film by
having interactive features on the website.

4. A Mainstream Company
If a mainstream company were to distribute my film for
example Warner Brothers, then it would be marketed a
lot better with more high profile and easily recognizable
adverts. For example on the side of buses, posters will be
put up and Billboards could advertise the film however
this does cost a lot of money, but this is a very effective
way to advertise a film as everyone can see it and they
don’t have to go out of their way to see this.
