2. DISTRIBUTION OF A FILM
There are 4 stages of film production: development, pre-production, production and post-
production.
 Development: This stage focuses on getting the initial elements of the film in place. First of all,
the property to be produced is selected
 Pre-Production: This stage gets the rest of what's needed on board in preparation for shooting
(film) or photographing (digital) the film.
 Production: Now it begins; getting the movie on film or digitized. The producers and director
make the schedule and coordinate/assemble the use of all the various production assets lined up to
make the movie.
 Post-Production: Once production is complete, and sometimes during, a whole other set of
experts are contracted to supply the finished film product.

3. DISTRIBUTOR FOR OUR FILM
 Our film will need a major distributor due to the fact that our
media product appeals to a mainstream audience. Also this would
be a big budget film due to the amount of action and special
effects that we would like to use. Major distributors such as
Warner Bros and Universal would invest in a big budget film and
we would hope to make a large profit.

4. WHICH DISTRIBUTOR ARE YOU
GOING TO USE?
 The distributor that we are going to use is Warner Bros as they
are a major distributor and would want the film to appeal to a
mainstream audience in order to create profit. As I have said our
film targets a mainstream audience and I think that Warner Bros
could promote and help to create an entertaining decent film.

Rocky:

 Estimated gross: $225,000,000
 The film that launched the career of Sly Stallone's abs might not have been made for peanuts, but the
reported $224,000,000 profit it made is an undeniably impressive return.
Enter the Dragon:
 When: 1973
 Budget: $850,000
 Estimated gross: $90,000,000
 The martial arts masterpiece saw Bruce Lee kung fu-ing his way to the big time, despite a very tight
budget.

 No I don’t think so this is because our genre is an extremely
well known genre like the genre of comedy. Our genre is the most
expensive to make as it needs special effects such as CGI and
equipment used to edit that we cannot afford as three A level
students

7. WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE
THE FILM TO GO?
 I would like my film to be distributed around the world and
possibly receive some Oscars. I would like my film to go into the
cinema, Blue ray, DVD and video. I think this because our film
targets a mainstream audience which in effect will create more
money in order that we can distribute our film efficiently and
effectively

 I would like to advertise our film on:

 And any social media that is free.
 The reason I would like to advertise on social media is because people are
likely to see it in their daily lives and it will be looked at rather than a poster
which is usually overlooked.
