The document discusses the design choices for packaging of an album. For the cover, the artist name and album title are in large white capitalized text on a simple background for clarity and memorability. The image of the artist makes direct eye contact with the audience to grab attention. Inside photos continue the rebellious theme, with an image of a smoking female giving direct eye contact. The CD design matches the front and back covers for consistency, and drop shadows are added to text for visibility. The back cover has a professional layout with dark and light text on an ombre blue background. The advert features a confident female with piercings to convey a rebellious, non-conforming attitude.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

1. How effective is the combination of
your main product and ancillary
texts?

2. Digipack - Cover
For my cover, I decided to keep my idea simple. If my cover
were to be too complex with bright colours and background
pictures, it would be a major distraction. The fact that my cover
has hardly any writing, it makes it a lot more memorable.
Both the name of the artist and the album are in capitalised
big, white text. The reason for the size is so it makes a bold
statement of importance to the audience. The added shadow
effect gives the the text a 3D effect, almost as if it’s reaching
out the audience.
(Mode of Address simply means how the text speaks to the audience, and involves them.) -
The cover image is the artist giving the camera direct mode of address. This grabs the
audiences attention, looking at somebody in the eye will always make them look back at
you. This is a clever technique the media use to draw in people.
3. Digipack - Inside
This picture works well for the rebellious theme of the album, the fact the female is
smoking and giving the camera direct mode of address just goes to show she doesn’t care
what people think. This gives the girl a teenage, rebel attitude.
The all black clothing helps the acting female to stand out against her background and it
helps the background become no distraction.
4. Digipack – The CD
• For the CD I decided to keep the design of the CD basic and simple. I kept the
CD colour similar to both the front and the back of the Digipack to allow it to
have a theme.
• I found that the white font against the baby blue didn’t stand out very well at
all. Adding a ‘drop shadow’ effect allowed the text to stand out.
• I also included the company logo on the CD to make the CD look a lot more
professional.
5. Digipack – The Back Cover
• Looking at the album back, it is clear how professional the back cover looks.
The choice of layout works extremely well.
• Again, I have included the company logo.
• The ombre blue background looks extremely well with back dark and light
text.
6. Advert
• The facial expression of the female is very
confident. The slight smirk upon her face
shows attitude. She is staring directly in to
the camera, giving the audience direct eye
contact, again this shows teenage-like
attitude and just shows she is not
intimidated. The fact she has numerous
piercings, shows she is rebellious and
doesn’t go with societies norms.
• I worked the text around the female to
show importance to her.
• I ensured that all of the text was at a
reasonable size. The size of the text varied
with importance.
