The document discusses how ancillary text like a digipak and advert for a single can complement each other and promote the artist. It recommends developing a recognizable motif for the artist that the target audience can identify with. This was done through a "gangster" motif with dark clothing and a baseball cap to appeal to fans of urban and hip hop culture. Ensuring the digipak and advert share similar visual elements like backgrounds and fonts helps create a clear link between them. Placement of the advert on social media sites and bus stops that the target audience uses can help promote awareness of the single.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Evaluation Question 2
1. How the main product and ancillary text complement each other and work
together to support the promotion of your single?
2. In order for the audience to first recognise the
ancillary text they most be able to identify with the
artist the best way is it form a recognisable motif. The
motif we gave the artist was one that would be
appreciated by the target audience. The digipak and
Advert can both be identify as going hand in hand as
both of them share a similar theme. The development
of a motif can be linked to one features of Andrew
Goodwin’s theory 6 Features 0f a music videos.The
fact that the record label will want the artist to be
recognisable to the audience and the audience to be
able to see the ancillary text I have produce and know
who the artist is.
3. I created an urban look for
the artist as we know that
hip hop plays a big part of
urban culture.The kind of
motif I created was a
gangster kind of motif.You
can see by the stance and
the dark clothing and the
baseball cap.The artist is
also seen wearing all black
in the music video also so
there can be a relationship
with the music video,
digipak and advert
4. The ancillary text would be
easy for our audience to
identify with, as they can
identify with the clothing and
brands worn in them.The
censored part of the picture
where it appears the artist
has his middle finger up
shows that he is rebel and
doesn’t care.Which could also
attract the audience to buy
this single as they could think
the artist is fresh and
uncensored.Which they could
emphasis with as teenagers
are known for being
rebellious.
5. The advert is the key to
selling the digipak is ,to
create a link between the
digipak and the advert.We
did quite successfully as you
can clearly se that they both
share the same background
and font.This is essential to
making the link and
conforms to the code and
conventions of the advert I
researched which is the
reason I choose to go down
this root.
6. For our advert to be seen
by our target it will be
smart to place it in place
they will see it such as
online on social media
likeTwitter, Facebook
,Tumblr and Instagram.
We could so but in at bus
stops as they would use
the buses to go to school
and see it on passing.
7. The digipak conforms to the
genre and music in general
conventions this is because of
the effect and the background.
The majority of digipaks have
some sort of effect , CGI or
graphic no to have this would
be consider out of the norm.
The urban brand and style the
cap and jacket can be
associated with the hip hop
genre and the audience
wouldn’t look at the pose also
and expect to hear pop music
they would except to hear hip
hop/rap.
8. To conclude I have produced ancillary that
can be identified by the target audience and
also empathise with the text as we used.
conventions associated not only with Hip
Hop as a genre but music as a whole. I
created a link between the digipak and
advert. In order for the audience to link the
two. So they know about the single which is
the main reason for the digipak.
