3. COMPARISON
Looking at my front cover picture compared to the Kerrang
front cover, I see that they are similar. For example, looking
at the colours used on the Kerrang magazine, similar
colours are also used. For my front cover photo I have used
colours such as black and white as I believe that it links in
with my genre. Because I have chosen to make my
magazine appeal to the gothic audience. I feel like the black
and white colours that I have used appeal more to my target
audience as they are seen to be wearing quite dark clothing.
This is why my models on my magazine are wearing quite
dark clothing as I feel like it will appeal more to my target
audience.
5. COMPARISON
For the contents page, I have used the image of the band at
the top as I feel like it will appeal to my target audience. This
is because Goths and people who listen to the rock music
genre are known for going to lots of gigs. This means that
the readers will link in with the magazine more, and will find
it more interesting. Another reason I used this image is
because one of the articles I have put on my contents page
is winning tickers to gigs. This meant that I was able to link
in with that part of the front cover and the contents page.
The reason I have used the angle of this photo is because it
is looking down onto the band itself. This means that it will
make the readers feel like they are there at the gig.
7. COMPARISON
With the picture I used on my double page
spread, I used it because I felt like it would
connect with the readers better. Not only
that, the angle that I used for the picture I felt
like it would make the readers more
interested in the band. For the lighting, I
chose to use the sunlight because I felt like it
gave a better effect for an outside shoot. This
is because it made the models stand out
more, so the readers could see them easier.
