Transforming Data Streams with Kafka Connect: An Introduction to Single Messa...
Evaluation 7
1. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
2. To make the main part of the front page, I
started by using a green background, and
copying the conventions shown in Q
magazine putting the masthead in the top
left, and having a list of the articles on the
left hand side using different typefaces.
To make the RM logo I found a font online
and typed out the words Rock Magazine
and letters RM, and then positioned the
letters RM and words rock magazine how
the are on the magazine on a red box.
I then added the edited photograph,
which I just used the magic wand tool to
cut out the background, and the blur tool
to refine the edges, which I done for all of
the photos in the magazine.
3. I made the text for the
contents page, and aligned
them using the grid on the
Photoshop, to get all of the
numbers in a straight line.
I then used the box tool to make a red
box, and inserted the RM logo and text.
4. Finally, I added the edited photo
and the note from the editor, with a
photo of the editor, and a line down
the side of the main photo which I
feel works well.
5. To make the double page spread, I started
by typing out the article and positioning it in
a columned layout, and adding the title and
brief description underneath the article. This
is on an A3 page positioned in a landscape
position, with the same green background
as the front page. There is also a grey bar
at the bottom which holds the page number
and website etc.
I then added the website, page
number, date of issue and a small RM
logo in the grey bar which is similar to
the style of Q magazine. I also decided
to add black and white lines in the title
to keep everything in a rectangular
shape, which added colour to the page
and allows a photo to be added around
the text.
6. Finally, I added the edited
photograph and positioned
the photo with the text to the
right of the artist. I used the
blur tool to refine the edges
and the magic wand tool to
cut out the background.
