2. How has it been important?
The audience feedback that has been given for our media products has been crucial for
my group as it allowed us to further develop them in a way that our target audience will
enjoy without upsetting them due to the choices.
The feedback is important to us as it gives us a viewpoint from someone outside of the
production allowing us to gain new insight on something that we may of lacked
beforehand.
The majority of audience were in the Tribed wire and Fun-atic which is important as
these psychographics usually consist of many young people due to the psychographics
revolving around technology and thrill seeking
3. Magazine cover
The feedback that the magazine received was
extremely crucial for its development as without the
input of our target audience the final design would
have been far more harder to decide. This was due to
the too how different the two drafts we created were
so instead of discussing this we showed both copies
of the draft to our target audience and received
feedback on both of them and we found that the
original draft was received much more positively so
this so the design of our final magazine cover
revolved around the first design.
The final magazine design also received feedback to
make it stand out more by increasing the brightness
on the colour of the text to make it look more
powerful and giving the text drop shadows to make
it look more clearer. Another piece of feedback that
we received was to break the 3 colour rule to make it
look more unique.
4. Poster
The posters feedback was useful for us as the
feedback we got was what convinced us to
overhaul its design as the feedback for the
original poster was quite negative due to the lack
of detail and how plain the poster looked. So
once we finished the second draft and showed it
to or target audience we were thrilled to know
that it had been received far more positively as it
meant that the audience would also enjoy a
poster in the same style as well.
When designing the final poster I was also given
feedback to make it more horror related because
it lacked horror genre conventions which I believe
was mainly due to the original font style that I
used which was far to like an action film than an
horror film.
5. Film trailer
The film trailer was the media product that received
the least amount of feedback due to me trying to
make sure that the trailer was done at a professional
quality. However, the feedback that I did receive came
from the other members in my group which mainly
revolved around minor things such as rearranging
some clips to improve the pacing and changing the
soundtrack to make it more intense.
But, due to the feedback on the original poster font I
needed to replace the font that appears in the trailer
with the improved one
6. Questionnaire results
One of the most important times that we received feedback was when we got the
results from the questionnaire that we did that asked our target audience who
they were and what they would want to see in our film trailer.
We tried to use as much of feedback as we possibly could so that our audience
would enjoy it more. For example when we asked what they would expect to see
the most in an action film they said explosions, chase scenes and fight scenes. We
mentioned that it would be unlikely to implement explosions due to the lack of
special effect skills from any of our group members. However, a P.O.V chase scene
had been added and throughout the trailer you can see the villain fight several of
the task force members.
Furthermore, when we asked our audience what they expect to see in a horror film
they said suspense, death and villains and unlike with the action question we were
unable to add all of these things into our film in some way. We used suspenseful
music to increase the tension which scared the audience, death has been added by
showing scenes of villain killing the characters such as the security guard near the
start of the trailer and the antagonist uses loads of conventions that are
stereotypical for villains.
