1. What have you learned from your audience feedback?
As I had already completed my production by the time I had the chance to get any feedback I was
not able to shape the design off of the feedback I received from people in the target audience.
I was able to ask them a number of questions about the completed media texts in order to see what
they thought about them. I asked 10 people in total 5 men and 5 women that fi the target audience
to see what their views were.
1. Did you enjoy the film trailer? Yes or no.
For this 8 out of the 10 people said that they enjoyed it.
All of the men enjoyed it and only 3 of the girls enjoyed it.
2. Do you think that the genre was easy to establish from the trailer?
Yes no.
Only 6 out of the 10 people said yes to this question.
“it just wasn’t clear to me what type of film this is, I thought that it could have been an
action film for parts of the trailer”
3. Were the voiceovers effective? Yes no
9 out of the ten people said that they were useful and were effective at driving the story
forward.
“I enjoyed how they were used; I felt that they were needed to help further the progression
in the trailer”
2. 4. Was there anything that you disliked about the trailer?
“I wasn’t such a big fan of the storyline, I feel like I have seen too many films where the man
has to save his wife from something. Just seems a bit overdone at this point.”
5. What did you think about the storyline of the trailer?
“I thought the storyline was unique and interesting”
“There were some new things in it that don’t often come up in films, but there is the
common damsel in distress cliché again”
6. Do you think that the cast was suited to their roles? Yes no.
7 out of 10 believed that they were suited for their roles.
This shows that the casting choices were effective and appealed to most of the people in the
target audience.
7. Is this a film that you would go and see? Yes or no.
9 out of the 10 people said that they would go and see it.
All of the men said they would want to see it whereas only 4 of the women said that they
would go and see it.
Conclusion
It seems that I have created a film trailer that has successfully appealed to the target
audience meaning that I have been able to follow thriller conventions and have a new and
exciting story that can still have people wanting to see it. There where however the use of
some clichés that made some people dislike the trailer slightly.
