What have you learned from your audience feedback?
1.
2. I gained my audience feedback through
questionnaires. This questionnaire
contained a series of questions relating
to different aspects of the trailer
including whether the trailer worked as a
trailer, if the choice of actors was good
and if the trailer made them want to see
the whole film.
In the next slides, I will summarise the
feedback from each of the questions.
3. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being low and 10 being
high), how positively do you feel about these
statements?
4. Feedback: 8, 9, 10, 7, 9, 6
Average: 8.17
This tells me that the audience was
relatively positive that my trailer worked
as a trailer.
However, the 6 concerns me that some
people would feel that the trailer has
some issues that would maybe put them
off seeing the film.
5. Feedback: 7, 9, 8, 7, 9, 2
Average: 7
From this I have learned that most
people would want to see the film,
although it may not be to everyone's
taste or it may not have sparked an
interest.
6. Feedback: 8, 10, 9, 7, 9, 6
Average: 8.17
I am happy that the trailer sustained the
interest of the audience.
But I think that if I had used a wider
variety of shots it would have been more
interesting.
7. Feedback: 7, 9, 10, 8, 6, 4
Average: 7.33
The audience members identified the
genre as thriller, action thriller, crime
thriller or horror thriller.
The genre is action thriller so I am
pleased that the audience was able to
establish the genre through the trailer.
8. Feedback: 6, 10, 9, 7, 9, 5
Average: 7.6
One thing that was highlighted through
my audience feedback was that I
needed more actors in the trailer.
However, they was happy with the
choice of the venerable female
protagonist.
9. Feedback: 8, 10, 7, 8, 9, 8
Average: 8.3
I was happy with the choice of music
and from the feedback I can tell that the
audience was too.
The audience said that the music helped
establish the genre of the film and
helped build tension.
10. Feedback: 10, 10, 10, 7, 8, 4
Average: 8.17
This tells that the trailer was pretty much
what the audience expected from the
genre that they identified.
The person who gave me a 4 may have
not expected the trailer to have
included the scenes that it did, or
thought that it didn't conform to
stereotypes.
11.
12. In summary, the audience thought that the:
Pan across girls face
Close up of ‘TOP SECTRET’ folder
Over the shoulder shot
Music
Were the most effective parts of the trailer.
This tells me that they liked the big impact
shots and they thought that the music was
very effective.
13. Feedback:
Distress and panic from the main character
Main character looking up before cut to title
‘TOP SECRET’ folder
Opening shots
Looking down the camera lens at the end
I am happy that different people took different
images with them from the trailer as this shows
that it appeals to different people in different
ways, meaning that a larger target audience
has been established.
14. All audience members identified that the
girl has found a secret document that
she shouldn’t have and now she is on the
run.
This is main plot line of the story so I am
happy that the audience could identify
this from the trailer.
15. Overall, I am happy with the audience
feedback. It has highlighted to me that
they are aspects that I would have to
change if were to make this trailer again.
I am pleased that the audience could
establish the genre of the trailer and that
it sustained most of their interests.
