1. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research,
planning and evaluation stages?
In the pre-production I used a website that allowed me to create the first ideas for the film trailer.
Using this website allowed for the brainstorming of ideas and characters that played a major part in
the finished trailer.
After creating this I used the IMDb websites to create ideas of who the target audience for the film
might be in order to help me to create the best possible trailer for the age group or gender. Through
the use of this technology it helped me to understand who I would be making this trailer for
meaning that I could make it better grasp their interests.
In the pre-production I also used a storyboard creator in order to get a rough idea of the plot of the
film. Using the storyboard that website I was able to create a storyboard that I could then show to
the intended audience to gain feedback for the final trailer to edit it in any way possible.
I used Prezi and slide share in my research and planning which allowed me to present the
information that I found about my target audience in a creative and stimulating way. I used slide
share to adapt word documents to seem more interesting and not have them on a plain piece of
paper but actually something that is different. I used Prezi to analyse another film poster and make
the information to look more interesting.
In the production of the trailer, film poster and magazine I used a variety of different software’s. for
the trailer the main programme that I was using was IMovie. This was helpful in creating the trailer
as it allowed me to move clips, edit the sounds and add effects. In the creation of the film poster and
magazine cover Photoshop was the main thing that was used. This is because it allowed me to easily
manipulate the photos that I had taken of the actors so that I could arrange them how it would be
best suited to the genre. It also allowed me to edit how they looked through changing the
saturation, brightness and tone of the pictures that were taken. After that it enabled me to add new
backgrounds for the magazine cover, the title of the film and the tag liners for the film poster and
other thing like that that would wold further improve the quality of the production.
2. Through the use of photography I was able to capture the images needed for the magazine cover
and the film poster. This was good as it allowed me to capture a variety of images that were at
different angles and had different lighting that I would have been able to choose from when it came
to creating the magazine cover of film poster.
In the post production I didn’t really use many programs with the only real one that I used being
word. I used word to paste in the magazine cover or film poster draft that I had to then be able to
annotate it and post it to my blog.
