Columbia Pictures would be well-suited to produce and distribute the thriller film as a full-length movie. Columbia Pictures specializes in action and thriller genres, similar to the film's two-minute opening. They have a history of producing successful thrillers like Salt, Identity, S.W.A.T., and Angels and Demons. As one of the major Hollywood studios, Columbia Pictures has the resources and experience to widely market and distribute the film to target audiences of 20-30 year olds.

2. FOR THE FILM WE HAVE ACTUALLY CREATED
If we had all the money we could possible get to create the two minute
thriller we have made. The institution we would of chosen would be
Columbia pictures, this is because they have created other films like
our two minute opening. Films such as Salt (action thriller), Identity
(mystery psychological thriller), S.W.A.T (sction- crime thriller and
Angels and Demons ( mystery thriller). These are only a few of the
examples of the films Columbia pictures has created that is similar to
the beginning plot of our thriller.
3. FOR THE FILM WE HAVE ACTUALLY CREATED
HISTORY OF COLUMBIA PICTURES
Columbia Pictures is an American film production and distribution studio
that is a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Motion Picture group. The
company was founded in 1918 by Henry Cohn, Jack Cohn and Joe
Brandt. The studio started with producing low budget short
“snapshots”. The studio started in a low rent area on Hollywood’s
Gower Street. People joked that the small time studio would never make
it and originally being called CBC people joked that it stood for “Corned
Beef and Cabbage” yet despite this Columbia Pictures has become a
top studio in the world and produced over 200 films.
4. FOR THE FILM WE HAVE CREATED
How does the film fit the ethos of the institution?
Columbia Pictures is one of the studios referred to as “The big 6” therefore
its main aim in making films is to produce a profit. Therefore, the films
they produce have to target a large audience in order for them to make
the most profit. From a company that started so small where every film
they decided to make would have to be mapped out exactly in order to
make sure they lost little money as otherwise they would go bankrupt is
now the sixth biggest institution in the world. Columbia pictures use big
time directors and large budgets for their films. Columbia pictures
create films that generally entail under the genres of action, thrillers or
comedies.
5. FOR THE FILM WE HAVE CREATED
How would they market our film?
Columbia would market our film to reach a worldwide audience using
traditional and new media. This would involve trailers, posters,
television ads and also merchandise such as t shirts to create demand
for the film.
For example, around $75,000,000 was spent on marketing Skyfall (part of
the James Bond franchise). Tom Ford tailered suits were created along
with Omega watches and Sony Xperia Phone.
6. FOR THE FILM WE HAVE CREATED
Does the film target a specific audience?
Columbia Pictures although having romances such as The wedding planner
and comedies such as Step Brothers. Columbia pictures seems to
specialize in action and thrillers. This mainly appeals to a male
audience yet lots of females also like films such as James Bond,
Spiderman and Salt. However, for example James Bond mainly targets
older males as they have been following the franchise for longer this
can be seen by the merchandise produced to market the film eg
expensive watches, cars and cologne. Yet, the spiderman franchise is
targeted for a much younger audience, for example, spiderman
costumes, lunchboxes and posters. Our thrller would need to be
targeted to an older audience from 20-30 as our film would be at least
15+ rated so luchboxes and posters would appeal less to our target
audience.
7. IF THE THRILLER WAS A WHOLE FILM
I have chosen White Lantern film productions for if the thriller was a whole
film. This is because the company is small therefore would be able to
have more creative freedom, our thriller is also unlike lots of other
thrillers that have been created as the twists that are experienced are
unique so we would want this element of our thriller to be accounted for
which White Lantern would have the freedom to do.
8. IF OUR THRILLER WAS A WHOLE FILM
History of institution?
White Lantern is a new film studio started in 2015. They work along side the
BFI. White Lantern are still in the early stages of development yet have
already created some films showing quick progress into the film
industry
9. IF THE FILM WAS A WHOLE MOVIE
What other films have they made?
K-SHOP- A kebab shop owner turns into a vigilante in order to clean up
10. IF THE THRILLER WAS A WHOLE MOVIE?
What is the institutions ethos?
This institution is small so therefore users small time producers and
directors for their films. They are still currently looking for more
investors to invest in the company. This company is passionate about
making films
