2. WHAT DOES A PRODUCTION COMPANY
DO?
A production company’s involvement in a production may be
handling fundraising. This means handling supplies and
resources, distribution, budgeting and scheduling. It handles
the scripting, post -production and marketing meaning that it
handles most of the work.
This is our production company logo.
We chose a camera man as the main
subject of our logo because we
thought that it suited what the logo
was representing (the film industry).
And by making it white on a black
background makes it really stand
out.
3. WHAT DOES A DISTRIBUTER DO?
A film distributers job is responsible for
marketing the film. They can either be
companies or individuals who market it. The
distributer is also responsible for setting a
release date of a film and the way that the film
will be made available to view.
4. OUR CHOSEN DISTRIBUTOR
I believe that SodaPictures will be a very
good distribution company as they are
known for supporting low budget films in
the British region. At this current moment,
the company have done very similar films
such as ‘A screaming man’ and ‘After Life’.
This is a very similar type of film to what
we have done, meaning that this
distribution company will be a good
company to use with already lots of
experience in the type of genre our film is.
5. FUNDING
To be able to afford our film and finance it, we would
need to apply to the British Film Institute as they are a
company which are able to distribute lottery money to
low budget British films such as our own film. This
would be a very good and helpful way to finance the
marketing side.
