EVALUATION

How does your media product represent
      particular social groups?
My media product conveys an indie attitude, the colours and bands chosen on the product all
relate to indie as they were taken from the questionnaire results I had received through my
research. The model is holding a guitar and conveying music of an indie genre therefore
relating to indie fans who are a fan of these instruments and the music played by them. The
gender of the person I chose to be on my front cover is male and therefore should attract an
audience of male and female as males may look to him as inspiration and females may find
him attractive. The main cover line on the front cover is about the singer shown performing
live at the magazines studio and exclusive is also included. This anchors the fact that the
magazine must be well established and unique as he is performing for this studio live, this
could attract social groups of people who are part of a band and people who enjoy reading
about this genre of music and want to find out about the performance of this singer. As well
as this the images on the contents page also convey an indie attitude by the clothes and style
they are going for, which will be suitable for social groups of this fashion. The background of
the images taken for the contents and double page spread are mostly taken in a studio where
the bands have been rehearsing, this will attract the attention of people who are part of a
band or people who have a interest in it, perhaps social groups that enjoy going to gigs and
want to find out about the band and maybe go see them perform.
