The first question I asked was a typical gender question to get an idea on who I should aim the movie
at. 14 of my responses were female and 11 were male.
I asked if my respondents were fans of Rom-Coms so I could assess if it would be a good idea. I had
nine ‘Yes’, seven ‘no’ and the remaining nine said it ‘depends’. From this information, I have decided
I’m still going to continue with the rom-com theme.
With this question (what is your favourite rom-com) I received 21 answers. The most popular answer
was ‘Love Actually’ with ‘Notting Hill’ as a close second. Although, the answers I received were none
of the movies I considered.
My answer to this question is fairly simple. With 12 ‘yes’ to 11 ‘don’t care’ and two ‘no’ it would be
sensible to stay along the lines on a typical rom-com storyline.
This unfortunately was not the answer I was hoping for. For my trailer to work it some needs to be
filmed on school premises. 16 people said ‘no’ and only nine replied with ‘yes’.
I asked my audience if they wanted the trailer to feature the downside of their love or not. I had 13
‘yes’ responses. I thought this is would a good question to ask because I didn’t want to give the
storyline away too much if it’s not what my audience wanted.
For this question I asked ‘What music do you like featured in Rom-Coms’. All of the areas suggested
got a response, the most popular genre being ‘pop’ music with ‘indie’ to follow up second. I plan to
include both genres of music in my trailer.
The audience responded with saying they would like to see text during the trailer to prompt the
storyline. This is what I had hoped for.
