1. “WHAT HAVE YOU
LEARNT FROM YOUR
AUDIENCE
FEEDBACK?”

2. Feedback is essential to determine the success of any media product as
it gives the perspectives of your target audience and allows you to
compare them with the ones you wanted to portray within an audience to
see if they correlate.
3. SurveyMonkey
SurveyMonkey is a website used to create
simple questionnaires electronically. They can
then be distributed as an online format, allowing
them to be broadcast to a much wider audience
than a paper one would be. I have created a
survey with multiple questions of different styles
to get feedback on my 3 media products. I then
uploaded it to Facebook and Twitter to maximise
results so I can come to a less bias conclusion.
4. Demographics
Above left was the first question was the first question asked as it instantly
gives me an insight as to whom is taking the survey so I can then target
other minorities in different forms. It also allowed us to see that our target
audience of young adults were the predominant demographic that took our
survey which is positive. This was then backed-up by our target audience
recognising themselves as the target audience after watching our video –
shown in the graph above right.
5. Satisfacion
This question enabled me to see if the audience was satisfied
with our media product overall. It was positive to see that 70% of
the viewers felt their needs were satisfied whether that be
escapism or personal identity.
6. Production
These questions relate more to the production side of the video to see whether our
audience thought the video was to a good standard and it is pleasing to see that
nobody thought the production was below average and was of ‘high quality’. However
the 20% that put impractical and ineffective may not have related to the video, hence
why they used those words to describe it. On the other hand 50% answered ‘unique’ in
that question which is quite interesting feedback.
7. Video reaction
These questions collect the results of the audiences reaction to the video itself. The
graph on the left clearly shows that the concept of having both narrative and
performance paid off in keeping the viewer interested. Whereas the graph on the
right shows a diverse range of answers that shows the emotions felt by the viewer.
It is good that our narrative can affect people in contrasting ways and the winning
feeling of sadness will be because of the unconventional fight scene. However we
then countered this by having the protagonist overcome the antagonist in the end in
8. Genre
Drum and Bass/Grime
R’n’B
This graph shows that our audience recognised the genre we were
portraying throughout our video, proving clarity in the genre
conventions that we included. It is also worth noting that the song
itself plays a vital part in influencing the viewer’s decision.
