The audience who would be for our media product consist of :teenagers

older generationThis is because there is so violence or inappropriate scenes or language so people can watch it and enjoy at any age. If we were to give our media product a rating certificate it would be a 12. meaning people have to be at least 12 to view. Having the age so low means that our target audience is also a much greater range than a film aged for 15 year olds. families can watch it together and this is great for our distribution as it means we can target a lot more people by the age we set our film to.
These target audiences are all based and put together by the demographics of general marketing. They make up groups in which to target media products at by looking at factors such as age, gender, income level, race and ethnicity. This helps ensure that the distribution of media products is on track for selling. Demographics help give us a marketing plan to go by as they help us to understand who and why would these particular people like our film meaning we can highlight these aspects and attract them into watching and buying our media product.  These aspects which we have highlighted in our opening title sequence are:Accidental pain- when ‘Terry’ falls and hurts himself

    Chomical bullying- ‘TheBoss’ throwing water at ‘Terry’Both of these aspects to our film come together as someone's misfortune but the way we have represented them is why the audience are attracted as its funny.

    As we researchedour genre of film we also found out about the target audiences for similar media products to ours. One was 'Dumb & Dumber' made in 2003 This is rated at a 12 which is the same age range for my media product. The reason why I researched this particular film of slapstick comedy is because it was very successful in its distribution as it went to theatrical distribution, then onto video/dvd. And now onto TV. Its become so good that the producers even made another film later , 'dumb, dumber and dumberer' in 2009.
