Lyme Disease Essay
A disease caused by the bacterium which is belongs to the class of Spirochaetes which implies
cockscrew–shaped. This bacterial infection is caused by four species. Borrelia burgdorferi and
Borrelia mayonii cause the disease in the United States, while in Europe and Asia it is Borrelia
afzelii and Borrelia garinii.
A person can acquire Lyme disease by the bite of an infected tick. This disease is transmitted by deer
ticks or black–legged ticks. Ticks are tiny in size and as their bite is painless, people might not even
realize that they have been bitten. Once an infected tick attaches itself to the skin, it is able to
transmit the bacteria. This bacteria eventually ends up in the bloodstream. The duration of
attachment necessary to transfer...show more content...
If the disease is diagnosed at an early stage, anti–infections treatment is given for a duration of
14–21 days. Adults and children above 8 are recommended doxycycline, while cefuuroxime and
amoxicillin are given to younger children and breast–feeding women. The infection can be totally
eliminated if a person is treated at the early stage. If Lyme disease is persistent in a patient, then they
will be treated with intravenous antibiotics. When the disease is treated at a later stage, the infection
will be stopped, but the curing of the symptoms will happen at a slower rate. A patient left untreated
could face problems with the nervous system, muscle and joints and the digestive system.
Prevention of Lyme disease lies in avoiding contact with ticks and removing ticks that attach to the
skin. Avoiding grassy and woody areas is one way. Dressing defensively to cover up the skin
available for the tick to attach is another way prevents the disease. Using repellants on exposed skin
or checking for ticks regularly are other methods.
A decade long research that ended in earlier months of this year has sequenced the genome of the
tick that causes Lyme disease. This allows researchers to understand how ticks acquire and transmit
pathogens allowing them to design a strategy to control

Paper
In the 1790s members of the industry in both Paris and London were working on inventions to try to
mechanise paper–making. In England John Dickenson produced the cylinder machine that was
operational by 1809. Although useful for smaller enterprises, this lacked the large scale potential of
the machine resulting from the invention of Nicholas–Louis Robert in Paris, which had a more
complicated incubation period. The last of the early improvements to this machine were financed by
the Fourdrinier brothers in London, and it was after these brothers that the machine was named. The
Fourdrinier could produce paper of virtually any size for the very first time, limited only by the width
of the continuous wire mesh upon which the paper was made....show more content...
However, the problem of a shortage of paper–making materials remained pressing. The 18th century
saw much experimentation with plant materials, both in Britain and on the Continent.(16) Even a
few unlikely non–plant substances such as asbestos were tried. Observations of wasps' nests also
raised some early interest in the possibility of wood as a potential paper–making material. By about
1716 jute(17) was beginning to be used, mainly in the form of the coarse textile sacking that was
commonly made from this Asian plant. Cotton(18) rags – previously few and far between, so very
seldom used – became common after the 1790s. This came about as a result of the invention of the
cotton–gin in America which speeded up production, and of the spinning–jenny that made Britain a
producer rather than an importer of cotton fabric. Cotton waste from the mills also became a
major new source. Straw,(19) the leaves and stems of cereal grasses such as rye, barley, wheat or
rice, which had always been used in small quantities, became much more extensively utilised from
the 1840s. The use of recycled paper also became, like straw, used much more widely. The 1840s
saw the introduction of esparto,(20) or alfa grass, (imported from southern Spain and North Africa),
and manila hemp.(21) Manila is a plaintain type of plant related to the banana the strong fibres of

Information Literacy Examples
William,
I enjoyed how you gave so many real life examples of how we use information literacy everyday.
Also I enjoyed how you talked about how we a society that wants answer and information instantly.
I believe that this has helped to better our society but has also created the divide in quality of
information that so many people have already talked about. We want information, good information,
avialable to us right away whenever we want it, but to actually get our hands on credible information
some times it can take digging through not so good stuff, which takes time!

Fallacy Essays
Fallacy
three logical fallacies that are used in this paper are Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc, Far–Fetched
Hypothesis, and False Dilemma. What is a fallacy? A fallacy is viewed as an error in reasoning. To
be more exact, a fallacy is an "argument" in which the premises given for the conclusion do not
provide the needed degree of support. A logical fallacy is anerror in logical argument which is
independent of the truth of the premises. When there is a fallacy in an argument it is said to be
invalid. The presence of a logical fallacy in an argument does not necessarily imply anything about
the argument's premises or its conclusion. Both may actually be true, but the argument is still invalid
because the conclusion does not follow.

The second fallacy in the paper is Far–Fetched Hypothesis. This is a fallacy of inductive reasoning
that is committed when we accept a particular hypothesis when a more acceptable hypothesis, or one
more strongly based in fact, is available.
Doing my research I found that ads from newspapers, television, and magazines are notorious for
using the fallacy of Far–Fetched Hypothesis. The ad I am using for an example is
about Nite Trim. It states is a revolutionary new breakthrough in natural science allows your body to
melt off the excess weight while you sleep.–and for a limited time you can try it FREE!! Never
before has weight loss been achievable through a product so healthy, safe, and effective during
SLEEP! The combination of ALL–NATURAL, STIMULANT–FREE ingredients in NiteTrim have
made the dream of losing fat reachable. Our research and passion for helping people lose weight
has paid off for doctors and their patients for years, now it's your turn!
For the first time, natural ingredients can be as strong as pharmaceuticals...and with NiteTrim you
avoid the negative side effects, bothersome prescriptions and high prices!
The ad for Nite Trim uses Emotional Appeal and Far–Fetched Hypothesis to persuade the reader to
use the product. First they show a picture of a thin beautiful young lady in a bathing suit. The
statement from the picture is saying this product will make you look like

Piano Music Essay
The beautiful sound of piano music has captured the hearts of people since the early eighteenth
century. Since then, many musicians have dedicated their lives to this instrument. Some players
even play piano so well that it may seem that this instrument is easy to play. However, to be able to
play the piano well isn't easy; it takes a lot of skill. To become a good piano player, one must love
music very much, have good finger techniques, and body flexibility.
To become a good piano player, one must love music. The love of music can help you truly
understand the music you play, so that you can play it well. For example, when you play a piece of
music on the piano, not only must you get the notes and the rhythm right, you must also be...show

In order to become a good pianist, one must have good finger techniques. With good finger
techniques, one will be able to play fast music. Because some music should be played quickly, this
can help you play through the music without getting stuck. Good finger techniques can also help
you play piano music very clearly so that the sound is clean and beautiful. In addition, with good
finger techniques, you can play piano for a long time without your finger getting sore. For a thirty
minute piece of piano music, one needs to have good finger techniques in order to play this piece
well. Having good finger techniques is an important skill to have as a pianist.
To be able to play piano well, one has to have body flexibility. Good body flexibility can help a
piano player to swing their body to the beat. For example, when a piece of music has complicated
rhythm, the player must swing his or her body to the bear in order to get the exact rhythm. Body
flexibility can also help one balance him/her self when he or she moves their body while playing
music; thus preventing the piano player from falling off his or her chair. Lastly, body flexibility
can help you play fast music. For instance, when you need to jump from the highest note of the
piano to the lowest, this can help a pianist to move quickly and with ease. A good piano player must
have body flexibility.
Piano music can often touch the listener's heart if it is

Grit Essay Examples
Grit is a predictor of academic, professional, and personal success. Grit can be defined as strength
of character or the ability to overcome failure and continue to work toward success. People with
grit are not always the people with the most natural ability, but their work ethic and ability to
overcome obstacles allows them to achieve success. Grit is a very valuable characteristic in almost
any venture, as it gives someone an advantage in overcoming the inevitable obstacles they will face.
However, grit is much easier adopted when an individual has a growth mindset. The first step to
obtaining grit is to correlate both self–control and self–confidence when trying to reach an objective.
By doing this, one can focus on the task at hand...show more content...
I had no experience as a runner nor did I have the form. This did not phase me however. That year
I promised myself to push through all the six mile runs, sore legs, gnarly blisters, and at times,
lack of oxygen. At every meet and speed workout practice I pushed myself further and further. I
set a goal every time I kicked off from the starting line and never let myself get discouraged when
I failed. By my senior year, I was the fourth fastest runner on varsity. That year our varsity team
won the district meet, which qualified us to run in the 2016 state meet in Oregon. The
transformation over the years were evident. My determination to accomplish my goal of
becoming a faster runner was complete. If I had simply just given up that first day of practice, I
wouldn't have ran along side of the fastest runners in Oregon or have met the multitude of people
that are now my closest friends. Having a goal sets one up for a challenge, whether it being
physically or mentally, goals keep us active and thinking in more ways than one. Still, if someone
has self–control, confidence, and a goal, they are still not complete. Growth mindset is the cone to
an ice cream. It is the foundation of what I think a successful person is. Without it one couldn't use
the characteristics mentioned above in more ways than one. Someone with a growth mindset believe
that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, brains and talent
are just the starting point.

Inclusive education means that all students in a school, regardless of their strengths or weaknesses
in any area, become part of the school community. They are included in the feeling of belonging
among other students, teachers, and support staff. The educational practice known as, full inclusion
may have negative effects on the self–esteem of a special needs child. In 1975, Congress passed the
Education for All Handicapped Children Act, also known as Public Law94–142. Before this law
came into effect many children with disabilities were routinely excluded from public schools.
Their options were to remain at home or be institutionalized. This law was an important landmark in
education and because of this law,...show more content...
Integration presumes that "segregation" exists and students are with their peers without disabilities
part–time. The CSIE did many studies and found that inclusion is more effective than either
integration or mainstreaming. Ferguson's (1992) project to achieve both social and learning outcomes
for students in general education classrooms resulted in the finding that "integration doesn't work,
but inclusion does." In 1997 President Clinton signed into law the Individuals With Disabilities
Education Act. This law aims to strengthen academic expectations and accountability for the millions
of children with disabilities. This law makes it clear that schools have a duty to educate children with
disabilities in general education classrooms. With this law in effect the CSIE began to really push
the inclusion movement in schools.
When inclusion was proposed, educators' primary concern was how learning–disabled students
would benefit academically. Academic concern is important; studies on the success of inclusion have
determined that there are social issues that need more attention. A study on inclusion conducted by
(B. Dixon) in New Hampshire found that Even when students were first included in regular classes,
teams did not focus on the students peer relations unless parents pushed the issue or students

Papers On Anthrax
Anthrax is a disease caused by a bacterium called Bacillus anthracis. It all started out when Robert
Koch first discovered the bacterium that caused Anthrax. Not only does anthrax effect animals but
also humans as well. In the United States on 2001, it was reported that there were bioterrorist attacks
happening throughout the country. Many believed it was a bioterrorist attack from letters being
delivered in the mail that contain anthrax spores. The types of anthrax, causes, signs and symptoms,
diagnosis and the treatment is what makes anthrax one of the viral diseases in the world.
Types of Anthrax: There are four types of anthrax that people can get the spores inside of their
bodies. The first one is cutaneous anthrax which happens by the spores getting...show more content...
This type of anthrax is more common in northern Europe where heroin–injecting drug users are
affected by it. Injection anthrax has never been reported in the United States. Doctors believe that
injection and cutaneous anthrax are similar when it comes to the symptoms. Injection anthrax can
spread throughout the body fast and be difficult to recognize and treat.
Causes of Anthrax: Anthrax spores are formed by anthrax bacteria that are found in soil in
majority parts of the world. The spores tend to hide for years until they find their way into a host.
For example, some hosts are wild or domestic livestock, such as sheep, cattle, horses and goats.
Anthrax is rare in the United States, but there are cases still going on in Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Pakistan,
and sub–Saharan Africa. Humans that are diagnosed with anthrax is the result of being around
animals or infected meat or hides. An example of anthrax that was spread without contact with
animals happen in the United States in 2001. 22 people were infected with anthrax after being
exposed to spores sent through the mail. Five of those people infected died. Many started to believe

  • 1. Lyme Disease Essay A disease caused by the bacterium which is belongs to the class of Spirochaetes which implies cockscrew–shaped. This bacterial infection is caused by four species. Borrelia burgdorferi and Borrelia mayonii cause the disease in the United States, while in Europe and Asia it is Borrelia afzelii and Borrelia garinii. A person can acquire Lyme disease by the bite of an infected tick. This disease is transmitted by deer ticks or black–legged ticks. Ticks are tiny in size and as their bite is painless, people might not even realize that they have been bitten. Once an infected tick attaches itself to the skin, it is able to transmit the bacteria. This bacteria eventually ends up in the bloodstream. The duration of attachment necessary to transfer...show more content... If the disease is diagnosed at an early stage, anti–infections treatment is given for a duration of 14–21 days. Adults and children above 8 are recommended doxycycline, while cefuuroxime and amoxicillin are given to younger children and breast–feeding women. The infection can be totally eliminated if a person is treated at the early stage. If Lyme disease is persistent in a patient, then they will be treated with intravenous antibiotics. When the disease is treated at a later stage, the infection will be stopped, but the curing of the symptoms will happen at a slower rate. A patient left untreated could face problems with the nervous system, muscle and joints and the digestive system. Prevention of Lyme disease lies in avoiding contact with ticks and removing ticks that attach to the skin. Avoiding grassy and woody areas is one way. Dressing defensively to cover up the skin available for the tick to attach is another way prevents the disease. Using repellants on exposed skin or checking for ticks regularly are other methods. A decade long research that ended in earlier months of this year has sequenced the genome of the tick that causes Lyme disease. This allows researchers to understand how ticks acquire and transmit pathogens allowing them to design a strategy to control Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Paper In the 1790s members of the industry in both Paris and London were working on inventions to try to mechanise paper–making. In England John Dickenson produced the cylinder machine that was operational by 1809. Although useful for smaller enterprises, this lacked the large scale potential of the machine resulting from the invention of Nicholas–Louis Robert in Paris, which had a more complicated incubation period. The last of the early improvements to this machine were financed by the Fourdrinier brothers in London, and it was after these brothers that the machine was named. The Fourdrinier could produce paper of virtually any size for the very first time, limited only by the width of the continuous wire mesh upon which the paper was made....show more content... However, the problem of a shortage of paper–making materials remained pressing. The 18th century saw much experimentation with plant materials, both in Britain and on the Continent.(16) Even a few unlikely non–plant substances such as asbestos were tried. Observations of wasps' nests also raised some early interest in the possibility of wood as a potential paper–making material. By about 1716 jute(17) was beginning to be used, mainly in the form of the coarse textile sacking that was commonly made from this Asian plant. Cotton(18) rags – previously few and far between, so very seldom used – became common after the 1790s. This came about as a result of the invention of the cotton–gin in America which speeded up production, and of the spinning–jenny that made Britain a producer rather than an importer of cotton fabric. Cotton waste from the mills also became a major new source. Straw,(19) the leaves and stems of cereal grasses such as rye, barley, wheat or rice, which had always been used in small quantities, became much more extensively utilised from the 1840s. The use of recycled paper also became, like straw, used much more widely. The 1840s saw the introduction of esparto,(20) or alfa grass, (imported from southern Spain and North Africa), and manila hemp.(21) Manila is a plaintain type of plant related to the banana the strong fibres of which Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Information Literacy Examples William, I enjoyed how you gave so many real life examples of how we use information literacy everyday. Also I enjoyed how you talked about how we a society that wants answer and information instantly. I believe that this has helped to better our society but has also created the divide in quality of information that so many people have already talked about. We want information, good information, avialable to us right away whenever we want it, but to actually get our hands on credible information some times it can take digging through not so good stuff, which takes time! • 4. Fallacy Essays Fallacy three logical fallacies that are used in this paper are Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc, Far–Fetched Hypothesis, and False Dilemma. What is a fallacy? A fallacy is viewed as an error in reasoning. To be more exact, a fallacy is an "argument" in which the premises given for the conclusion do not provide the needed degree of support. A logical fallacy is anerror in logical argument which is independent of the truth of the premises. When there is a fallacy in an argument it is said to be invalid. The presence of a logical fallacy in an argument does not necessarily imply anything about the argument's premises or its conclusion. Both may actually be true, but the argument is still invalid because the conclusion does not follow. Post...show more content... The second fallacy in the paper is Far–Fetched Hypothesis. This is a fallacy of inductive reasoning that is committed when we accept a particular hypothesis when a more acceptable hypothesis, or one more strongly based in fact, is available. Doing my research I found that ads from newspapers, television, and magazines are notorious for using the fallacy of Far–Fetched Hypothesis. The ad I am using for an example is about Nite Trim. It states is a revolutionary new breakthrough in natural science allows your body to melt off the excess weight while you sleep.–and for a limited time you can try it FREE!! Since then, many musicians have dedicated their lives to this instrument. Some players even play piano so well that it may seem that this instrument is easy to play. For example, when a piece of music has complicated rhythm, the player must swing his or her body to the bear in order to get the exact rhythm. Body flexibility can also help one balance him/her self when he or she moves their body while playing music; thus preventing the piano player from falling off his or her chair. • 6. Grit Essay Examples Grit is a predictor of academic, professional, and personal success. Grit can be defined as strength of character or the ability to overcome failure and continue to work toward success. People with grit are not always the people with the most natural ability, but their work ethic and ability to overcome obstacles allows them to achieve success. Grit is a very valuable characteristic in almost any venture, as it gives someone an advantage in overcoming the inevitable obstacles they will face. However, grit is much easier adopted when an individual has a growth mindset. The first step to obtaining grit is to correlate both self–control and self–confidence when trying to reach an objective. By doing this, one can focus on the task at hand...show more content... I had no experience as a runner nor did I have the form. This did not phase me however. That year I promised myself to push through all the six mile runs, sore legs, gnarly blisters, and at times, lack of oxygen. At every meet and speed workout practice I pushed myself further and further. I set a goal every time I kicked off from the starting line and never let myself get discouraged when I failed. By my senior year, I was the fourth fastest runner on varsity. That year our varsity team won the district meet, which qualified us to run in the 2016 state meet in Oregon. The transformation over the years were evident. My determination to accomplish my goal of becoming a faster runner was complete. If I had simply just given up that first day of practice, I wouldn't have ran along side of the fastest runners in Oregon or have met the multitude of people that are now my closest friends. Having a goal sets one up for a challenge, whether it being physically or mentally, goals keep us active and thinking in more ways than one. Still, if someone has self–control, confidence, and a goal, they are still not complete. Growth mindset is the cone to an ice cream. It is the foundation of what I think a successful person is. Without it one couldn't use the characteristics mentioned above in more ways than one. Someone with a growth mindset believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, brains and talent are just the starting point. • 9. Research Paper Research Paper Inclusive education means that all students in a school, regardless of their strengths or weaknesses in any area, become part of the school community. They are included in the feeling of belonging among other students, teachers, and support staff. The educational practice known as, full inclusion may have negative effects on the self–esteem of a special needs child. In 1975, Congress passed the Education for All Handicapped Children Act, also known as Public Law94–142. Before this law came into effect many children with disabilities were routinely excluded from public schools. Their options were to remain at home or be institutionalized. This law was an important landmark in education and because of this law,...show more content... Integration presumes that "segregation" exists and students are with their peers without disabilities part–time. The CSIE did many studies and found that inclusion is more effective than either integration or mainstreaming. Ferguson's (1992) project to achieve both social and learning outcomes for students in general education classrooms resulted in the finding that "integration doesn't work, but inclusion does." In 1997 President Clinton signed into law the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act. This law aims to strengthen academic expectations and accountability for the millions of children with disabilities. This law makes it clear that schools have a duty to educate children with disabilities in general education classrooms. With this law in effect the CSIE began to really push the inclusion movement in schools. When inclusion was proposed, educators' primary concern was how learning–disabled students would benefit academically. Academic concern is important; studies on the success of inclusion have determined that there are social issues that need more attention. A study on inclusion conducted by (B. Dixon) in New Hampshire found that Even when students were first included in regular classes, teams did not focus on the students peer relations unless parents pushed the issue or students Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Not only does anthrax effect animals but also humans as well. In the United States on 2001, it was reported that there were bioterrorist attacks happening throughout the country. Many believed it was a bioterrorist attack from letters being delivered in the mail that contain anthrax spores. The types of anthrax, causes, signs and symptoms, diagnosis and the treatment is what makes anthrax one of the viral diseases in the world. This type of anthrax is more common in northern Europe where heroin–injecting drug users are affected by it. Injection anthrax has never been reported in the United States. Doctors believe that injection and cutaneous anthrax are similar when it comes to the symptoms. Injection anthrax can spread throughout the body fast and be difficult to recognize and treat. Causes of Anthrax: Anthrax spores are formed by anthrax bacteria that are found in soil in majority parts of the world. The spores tend to hide for years until they find their way into a host. For example, some hosts are wild or domestic livestock, such as sheep, cattle, horses and goats. Anthrax is rare in the United States, but there are cases still going on in Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Pakistan, and sub–Saharan Africa. Humans that are diagnosed with anthrax is the result of being around animals or infected meat or hides.
