Essays On The Holocaust
Crafting an essay on the subject of the Holocaust is an endeavor that demands a delicate balance
of sensitivity, thorough research, and a profound understanding of historical events. The
Holocaust is a deeply tragic and emotionally charged topic, making it inherently challenging to
approach with the necessary academic rigor while also acknowledging the profound human
suffering involved.
First and foremost, the gravity of the subject requires meticulous research to ensure accuracy and
depth of understanding. The essay must delve into historical records, survivor testimonies,
scholarly analyses, and various perspectives to present a comprehensive view of the events.
Navigating through the extensive body of literature on the Holocaust is no small feat, and the
writer must sift through the vast amount of information to construct a well-informed narrative.
Moreover, the emotional weight of the Holocaust necessitates a nuanced and empathetic
approach. Balancing the academic tone required for an essay with the need to convey the human
tragedy involved is a delicate task. It requires a careful selection of language to avoid
minimizing the gravity of the events while maintaining an objective and analytical perspective.
Addressing the ethical considerations surrounding the Holocaust is another layer of complexity.
Writers must be aware of the potential for their work to be interpreted in ways that could be
offensive or hurtful. Striking a balance between academic discourse and ethical responsibility
becomes crucial, adding an extra layer of difficulty to the writing process.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the Holocaust is a formidable task that demands not only
scholarly acumen but also emotional intelligence. It requires a writer to navigate through a sea of
historical records, maintain sensitivity to the human suffering involved, and address ethical
considerations with care. Ultimately, it is an undertaking that necessitates a profound respect for
the gravity of the subject matter.

Homosexual Memo
I decided to choose Joe because as a fellow Caucasian male, I more closely felt how
he felt more than I did with the two girls from foreign countries and the two African
American males. Although I am not homosexual, being white made me feel his
story more. I can t relate to being a racial minority. Being a homosexual person today
requires you to adapt. To adapt means to change your behavior to accommodate what
others are doing. Although more and more people are opening up to the thought of
same sex marriageand all that, there are still a lot of people who oppose it and think
that it is immoral. So people, who have feelings like Joe, have to adapt if they want
to fit in to the societies of America. Societies are groups of people who share common

I have many friends that are minorities. I have African American friends I have
Asian friends and I feel comfortable being around them. The people who stereotype
these people have obviously never gotten to meet the people who they stereotype.
I can tell you that not every person who isn t white is bad. People have to realize
that white people can be bad too. I guarantee that other cultures think we are bad
because of what some crazy white people have done. I agree with what Vera said.
In every culture there are extremists. The same goes for white people. Not every
African American is a bad person, not every Arab is a terrorist. I think if people
got to know what these people actually stood for and the type of people they are,
then racism would be ridden from our country. But until then, we will never be a
good society. For me personally, when my friend moved to Iowa from Vietnam back
in 3rd grade, I wasn t terrified, I didn t question the things he stood for or any of that.
Honestly, I thought it was cool that he didn t know much English. I wanted to learn
about the Vietnamese language and all the things they do over there that were
different from us. Just like me, he wanted to learn about the United States. We would
teach other things that each place believed in. I would teach him basketball, he would
teach me about his Buddhist beliefs. There were never any thoughts of discrimination
or racism with him.
The Myth Behind the Singing and Chirping of Birds
Since the beginning of time, people have always wondered why birds sing and
chirp. The answer lies in The Legend of the Birds. Here is how it goes... Once upon
a time, in a land far away, there was a tree that reached to the heavens. Inside this
tree there lived all the birds in the world of different breeds, color, shapes, and sizes.
Now each birdlived peacefully in the tree speaking the language that humans do
today. The flock of the birds included laws about obeying the rules, how to act, and
the most important rule, which was to never travel to the land of the Pandas,
Pandaria. There was a bird by the name of Duck who loathed these rules because he
thought it was unfair to not be able to travel to the land of the Pandas. After all,
what would a panda do to them? So it all started when Duck broke the law of the
birds. Duck had always been curious what is at the land of the Pandas. He decided
the rule of the birds was dumb and decided to go and check out the Panda s place. So
Duck flew a long way from his home until he finally reached a large area filled with
bamboo. The large pointed bamboo made Duck uncertain for a little while, but then
he decided he wasn t about to chicken out and flew right in. Right on time, Duck
noticed some Panda maidens and sneakily flew over them without being seen. Out
of the corner of his eye, Duck noticed a grand room guarded by many Panda
warriors. He decided to check it out without making any noise; he flew right over the

Harry And Strange Logic Of Book Discounters
1.Harry and Strange Logic of Book Discounters Harry Potter books sold out
immediately on multiple discount offers from different bookshop. There was lot
of book shops which were selling the book on cheaper and discounted prices. They
went on with this offer since a lot of people were coming to buy that book and they
will sell it on margin prices, the prices were competitive and the number of copies
sold in millions. On the launch of this book the book sellers gave out 40 percent
discount, since the author was known and had a lot of fan following. Even the
independent book sellers were selling this book with additional services. They didn
t drop down the price for the book but instead gave a few added services to their
customers. Books stores usually know the best sellers and they are well familiar
with the fan following of the different authors. They devise out a strategy which
covers all their expenses and sell the book on a price where they still get away
making profit. 2.Variable price coke machines being tested The New vending
Machine of Coca Cola company automatically raises prices in hot temperature, this
automation however seems unfair is being used and tested. The desire for a cold
fizzy drink is heightened in the summer s hot days so the machine is stimulated by
heat sensors which automatically raise prices. This however will have a few
drawbacks. Since the heat sensor controls the price, technological problems can make
the machine sense wrong. 3.Top artist
The Emergence of a Young Girl into Womanhood
Across several different cultures, there are different ways in which people of a
community recognize the emergence of a young girl into womanhood. In the United
States the most common is the famous Sweet Sixteen which as in the name states:
relates to being sixteen years old, getting a car, and having some sort of celebration
to commemorate the birthday. Among others include the Quinceanera which is
usually equated with Mexico and Bat Mitzvahs which is a Jewish girl s rite of
passage. Another rite of passage, called Kinaalda, is a puberty ceremony that holds
the same importance and significance among the Navajo tribeas their creation story.
Unlike American society, during the people s lifetime there is not a time between
child and adult. In the Navajo culture it seems that it is more plausible to say that the
time between being a child and adult or as stated by Leighton and Kluckhohn (1947),
physical maturity and social maturity are more nearly coincidental. Meaning unlike
the American culture where the gap between childhood and adulthood is filled with
an adolescence, and in the Navajo tribe this gap is not prolonged and instead this
transition is commemorated by a four night ceremony. This process begins at the
Navajo girl s first menstruation and is a way to announce to the whole community
that she has become a woman. In earlier marriage customs, a year or so after the
ceremony the girl would be considered ready for marriage; as a result, some felt that

The Message of the Gettysburg Address
The Message of the Gettysburg Address
In 1863, the sixteenth President of the United States found himself engulfed by a
horrific civil war and in leading his people to victory, Abraham Lincoln found
himself in a predicament that required a well thought out motivational presentation.
He found that opportunity with the address at Gettysburg. President Lincoln knew
his people were dissatisfied with the loss of so many comrades and knew there must
be a way he could prove that the lives of so many fallen soldiers, husbands, and sons
were worth the efforts to restore the land of the free. The statement made in the
Gettysburg Address to the people was a perfect example and in essence the
embodiment of perfect communication.

Lap-Band Skinny
Here s the Skinny on Lap Band Weight Loss Surgery
Severely obese people know that when dieting and exercising fails to produce
positive results, weight loss surgery, also known as Bariatric surgery, may be their
only solution. Obesity is rarely an isolated situation, it is often associated with, or
contributes to, other health conditions such as sleep apnea, diabetes, heart and lung
problems, and mobility issues.
Men who need to lose 100 pounds or more and women who need to lose 80 pounds
or more may benefit from having Bariatric surgery. An examination and evaluation
by a Victorville General Surgeon can determine if you are a serious candidate for
weight loss surgery. When the surgeon determines that lap band surgery is a good fit
for your obesity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The surgeon will make a few small incisions in your abdomen to accommodate a
laparoscopic camera and the required surgical instruments. An adjustable band is
positioned around the upper part of your stomach. The result is a smaller stomach
pouch above the band with a narrow passage into the lower part of your stomach. A
thin tube connects the band to a delivery port where saline fluid can be inserted or
withdrawn when an adjustment is needed. The incisions are sealed shut and there is
minimal scarring. The operation takes 30 to 60 minutes for completion.
Surgery Recovery
Lap band surgery requires a short stay in the hospital. Your surgeon will tell you
when you can return to work, when to resume normal activities, and when you ll
need follow up office visits. You ll receive detailed instructions on what foods, and
in what amounts, you can and cannot eat with a lap band, and if you need to take
any supplements. You ll be restricted to liquid or pureed foods for the first few
weeks after surgery. When needed, the band can be adjusted in the surgeon s office or
Education Reform In The United States
Is school reform hopeless in our states and cities? In my opinion, education reform
is useless due to a variety of occurrences going on in the world that nobody is
focused on and changing these schools to make them more efficient for all students.
An example of this is the government not caring at all about how most of these
schools are lacking in money and in need of help to be able to acquire the best
education. Many schools in the world are so poor and struggling that students are
forced to drop out and eventually end up getting into gangs leading to violence and
drugs all over the streets. Not only are these some of our most significant leading
problems, but we also see the amount of discrimination between the schools. There
are cases... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This thing is money. Money was used for buying things that benefit us and helps us
in any way. Schools all around the world have a necessity for supplies, better
equipment for classes or food for lunchrooms. To acquire this, we need money, which
most schools don t have. Poor schools are in desperate need of these things to try to
provide a much more efficient education for their students. Schools will turn to the
aid of the government in the hope of getting money for the school. In most cases, you
would think that the government would help out the poorest schools, but that s not
the case. In savage Inequalities schools along with many desperate families are
asking for the assistance of their board of education as well as the government for
help with schools lacking in many supplies and the environment their living. Rather
than receiving the help they need the government helps out the richer schools more
than the schools that need the help. Why is it that the poor schools in the South Side
of Chicago don t get help from the government, but the richest schools do. This shows
us how ethnicity plays a role in our society. Many of the wealthy schools mainly have
white students who attend the schools, while in poor schools are mainly populated
by Hispanic students and African American students. That s
Conclusion Of Multiculturalism
Multiculturalism is the solution to cultural conflict. According to the text,
multiculturalism is the view that cultural diversity in a country is something good
and desirable. It takes its cue from the theory of cultural relativism, and assumes that
each group has something to offer and learn from the others. Cultural conflict, on the
other hand, refers to the issues that arise from diversity, such as racism, terrorism and
ethnocentrism.
The history of multiculturalism spans across different cultures. There are many
different forms of it, but multiculturalism has its basis in the need for equality. It
arose from a need to reduce discrimination against people on the grounds of race,
ethnicity, gender, or physical condition, as well as a need to reduce disadvantages of
an external condition, such as the burdens of class, which includes a nexus of
property, skill and political power.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, it established entitlement to non discriminatory benefits, as well as
provided additional measures to help disadvantaged sectors.
The Canadian law guaranteed equality and fairness to all, regardless of race or
ethnicity. As a result, an increasing majority of Canadians believe that
multiculturalism is important. In a Focus Canada survey conducted in 2015, it was
shown that more than 50% felt that felt that multiculturalism is important to the
Canadian identity.
Additionally, multiculturalism is seen as a boon to the Canadian economy, boosting
development and stimulating employment, as well as increasing tax revenues and
contributing to the public welfare. It was reported in 2008 that that visible minorities
represented 48% of the total consumer market in Toronto, 39% in Vancouver, and
20% in Montreal.
Multiculturalism is propelled by advancements in
Child Development Reflection
The moment I glanced at my schedule, I immediately knew that something was
wrong. The classes that I had planned for, that I had spent hours interrogating
upperclassmen about, were not all there. My carefully planned out future was swiftly
and harshly brought to an end with the final statement at the bottom of my
supposedly new schedule All schedules are final, and will only be considered if the
student has been placed in a classwith a repeat credit.
Two years ago, my school administrators placed me in a semester class that I did
not sign up for titled Child Development. With over two thousand schedules to
consider, it was not a major surprise that some of them had gotten messed up along
the way. However, I was shocked that something like this would ever have
happened to me. How on earth could the classes that I wanted to take be
overlooked? How dare they do this to me. I immediately requested a schedule
change. When the change was denied I was appalled. I was going to be forced to
take a class that I didn t know much about. It seemed like every force in the world
was against me. There was nothing that I wouldn t have done to get out of that class.
The first day of the second semester seemed to drag by until I was finally in the last
place that I wanted to be, Child Development. I walked into the class with a horrible
attitude and an absolute assurance that I was going to hate every aspect of the class.
And yet, I didn t. As the semester progressed, I was drawn in by

Biblical Covenants Of The Old Testament God
Throughout the Old Testament God has picked His chosen people to guide and
protect. God uses covenants with His people to hold them accountable to their
actions. Covenants are agreements between two people that form a bond. To show
how important covenants were in the Ancient times, an animal would be cut in half
and both parties would walk between the halves implying that if the covenant was
broken then the party that broke the covenant would be killed. Godused this ideal of
covenants to lead His children. The Old Testamentcovenants will show God, God s
relationship that He desires with His people and His children.

God promising to bless and take care of His people if they followed His
commandments and worshiped only Him. A covenant provided three things
security, accountability and a purpose (Foster, 2010). Noah did everything that
God commanded of him to do. Noah was 600 years old when the floodwaters
started to come. After the floodwaters had dried up God called Noah and his family
out and commanded them to be fruitful and multiply, while the Lord said I would
never again curse the ground because of mankind again. As long as the earth
endures, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night
will not cease (Genesis 8:22). God found Noah to be faithful and He blessed him and
made a covenant with him to protect him.
The Bible introduces a solution to the worlds sinful dilemma. The faithful
obedience of a single individual becomes a powerful instrument in God s hands
(Arnold, Beyer, pg. 64 2015). God calls Abram out of the land of his father s house
and away from his relatives. I will make you into a great nation, I will bless you, I
will make your name great, and you will be a blessing (Genesis 12:2). Abram left
the land of his family and followed God as far as the great tree of Moreh at
Shechem. The Lord appears to Abram and promises to you offspring I will give this
land. The Lord led Abram through the lands. God wanted to make a covenant with
Abram; He came to Abram in a vision. He took
What Is The Similarities Between Afghanistan And India
India has historical and civilization linkages with Afghanistan. They can be traced to
the Harappan civilization, one of the earliest urban civilizations of the world. A
number of ceramic items discovered in Afghanistan show similarity with those found
in Harapa. It is also established that Harappan towns received copper ore and azurites
from Afghanistan. It is obvious that Afghanistan has had very old links with India.
Historically and culturally India and Afghanistan close ties. Both the countries share a
great deal of history; Alexander the Great conquered Afghanistan in (329 327 B.C.)
on his way to India. In the pre Christian era, Indian kings also stretched their empires
to Afghanistan. The Kushans in the first century crossed the Hindu... Show more

By 1830, the strategic importance of Afghanistan had increased vis Г vis India was
an accepted fact, when both Russia and British India developed their interest in the
country. The Russian Empire s expansion up to Central Asia threatened to British
Empire in India. The British feared that Afghanistan would become a staging post for
a Russian invasion of India. Sensing the attacking mode of Russia and seeing the
strategic importance of the region, in 1839, British troops captured Kandahar and
installed Shuja as the king. But Afghans successfully resisted their control and
maintained their independence. However, the British on account of their superior
position, secretary for foreign affairs of the British India, Henry Durand, arrived in
Kabul to talk to Abdur Rahman Khan. On 1893, Abdur Rahman Khan had agreed to a

India had strong relations with Afghan King Zahir Shah s regime. In 1950, India and

Comparison Of Cargo And Taken
The movies that are being discussed are Cargo and Taken. Both of these movies
allowed viewers to understand the aspects of human trafficking. These movies have
several similarities, but between the two, one of them paints a better picture of what
the human trafficking process consist of. Cargo was about a Russian woman who
was smuggled into America by humantraffickers. An infamous Egyptian transporter
drove her from the Mexican outskirt to New York City in which they shaped a far
fetched bond that changes them and challenges the traffickers arrangements to fail.
As for Taken, it was about a retired CIA special agent traveling to Europe to save his
daughter who became a victim of human traffickingwhen she and a friend decided to
share a taxi with a stranger. Her dad, the CIA retired special agent, relies on his old...

It was one particular conversation that they were having in the movie that was really
disturbing. A another lady that was victim of human trafficking was telling the main
character how women can be taken to a large construction site with a lot mean there
to be sold and abused. Cargo showed what can happen when you get caught up in
human trafficking, but it also shows the main character trying to break free from that
lifestyle. In Taken, it showed how one naГЇve decision could be life changing. Two
teenage girls went to Paris alone and fell victim to human trafficking as soon as
they left the airport. That s how easy it is to kidnap people because the captors
prey on the vulnerable. In this movie, it showed glimpse of what the girl was going
through as a slave, but it showed more of what the father had to do to save his
daughter. Between Cargo and Taken, they both showed scenes of what a house of
sex slaves look like, how their drugged up and used, and how sleazy men are the

how they were targeting him. He explains in the letter how the city of Birmingham
has gone through all the nonviolent campaigns and that it proves that their is serious

The reason why so many people were complaining about King and when he was

by him while he was in the Birmingham prison. In the letter he writes how the

Mortgage Crisis Essays
Abstract
In my research you will find that I outlined the cause and effect of the mortgage
crisis. I also speak on the falling housing prices due to the mortgage crisis and the
domino effect that will be created on and for the economy. I will also speak on the
foreclosure rates caused by sub prime loans and no fall back plan to help in the case
of the mortgagor defaults.
The Mortgage Crisis
Thesis Statement:
The mortgage crisis that has caused house prices to fall and foreclosures to occur
across the United States will create the need to alter the financial mortgage industry
policies; as the impact it has can go as far as causing a consumer recession due to the
low unemployment rate, rising ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The mortgage crisis is simply one side of the coin.
The main cause of the mortgage crisis is the changes in policy for the mortgage
industry. In the past, a fixed mortgage was the prime form of lending. All mortgages
have the same payments for the mortgage duration and a large down payment was
essential. The calculation of the mortgage was based on the initial amount borrowed,
and house assessment rather than the rising value of the income and the house over
the years.
In order to encourage people to buy more houses and boost the real estate market, the
homebuilders, financial lenders, and the government created new financial
instruments of calculation that were not researched properly. Lenders sold
mortgages to investors that allowed the risk of default to be covered even though
the mortgage was in a financial stretch for the borrower. Borrowers did not read the
fine print and made decisions that they could not afford. The major banks Federal and
otherwise, kept the interest rates low causing investors to take risks to get high
returns in the short term, disregarding the long terms security of the whole process.
The result was sub prime borrowers could buy houses they could not afford and
prime borrowers could have extra cash flow that in normal circumstances would not
have been possible, allowing lenders to make bigger plans in terms of growth etc.
The housing epidemic created a false market boom that drove prices up as consumer
demands grew.

Securing It Infrastructure At Wd Enterprises
Securing IT Infrastructure at WD Enterprises
In order to properly secure the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure today, there
are many different areas that need to be addressed. Each of these areas pose different
vulnerabilities and challenges to properly securing an IT environment. By identifying
these vulnerabilities, applying controls to address them, and designing a robust
security plan the IT infrastructure at WD Enterprises will be more secure and
provide better protection against these threats. This plan along with design and
application of a code of ethics related to the IT profession, will ensure the staff is
held accountable to the standards and objectives of the organization. To accomplish
these goals, a review of the organization s vulnerabilities will be performed
followed by suggestions and discussions of the security models that can be used to
overcome these risks. Following that, a security plan will be designed along with a
code of ethics. These will become the blueprint for securing the IT infrastructure at
WD Enterprises.
WD Enterprises Infrastructure
Securing an IT environment properly can be broken down into three basic questions.
The first question to address is what assets within the organization need protection?
After these assets have been identified, it is important to ask in what are they
threatened? Finally, the question of what needs to be done to counteract these threats
(Stallings Brown, 2012)? By answering these questions, it is
World War I And The Great War
Whenever you come across World War I, don t you ever deeply think about how it
all started? Who would have known that just 2 pulls of a trigger could have
triggered a demoralizing World War? World War I, also known as The Great War,
was a war that primarily took place in Europe. It officially started on the 28th of
July in 1914 and it unexpectedly lasted until the 11th of November in 1918 (about 4
years). The most predominant countries that fought in this war include Great Britain,
France, Russia, and Germany. This war left many people in shock as it surprisingly
ended up killing more than over 9 million combatants and just over 7 million
civilians (World War I). WWI is known to being one of the most fatal wars in the

Human Science and History
The historian s task is to understand the past; the human scientist, by contrast, is
looking to change the future. To what extent is this true in these areas of
knowledge? As historians study, compiles and writes events in chronological order
or arranged events in the order it came to be, people understood what came before
them. Historians are the authority on it that no one ever tried to question what was
written but instead we accepted it as facts and from those facts we learned and knew
that as time and years go by people could and can change the future. As clear as the
question implies history and human sciences are the two areas of knowledge
involved. Human sciencewas defined as the study and interpretation of the

be there. It is something of the past for the future. We believed in what was written
thousand years ago, affecting each and everyone of us on how we go on with our
lives. Though on the other hand, why could we not rewrite what was written for
easier to understanding? Are we 100% sure that it is true? Without the inventions
and innovations of human scientists we would not have what we have now. Our
lives would be very different. It would have been at a slower pace. We would not
know what lies in the other side of the globe. It was so clever of the human scientists
to invent something that could lead to a change in our future. For instance, the
invention of airplane. Isn t it great that we could be in one continent to the next in
King s Assassin Analysis
The climax of the story starts on page 347 and this is the most awaited event of the
whole story, the duel to learn who will become the King s Assassin. The final 4
Champions (Celeana, Cain, Renault, and Grave) all start off dueling in pairs and
out of these 2 pairs, Celeana and Cain come out victorious meaning, they will have
duel each other to see who earns the title of the King s Assassin. Before the last
duel takes place, both Champions are given a glass of wine, however one of the
ladies attending the duel, Lady Kaltain, slips a small bit of poison into Celeana s
drink to make her disoriented throughout the battle. Lady Kaltain s intentions were
only to get Celeana out of the way so she could get Prince Dorian all to herself, but
it ended up becoming a lot more. After unknowingly drinking the poison, Celeana

creatures of good being went against the deadly creatures, while Elena came to
Celeana s aid and removed all of the poison from her so that she could fight back.
After the poison had been taken out of Celeana by Elena, Celeana was finally able
to function properly and fight back. Cain, not expecting Celeana to recover and be

Lord Of The Flies Chapter 4 Analysis
In Chapter 4 of William Golding s Lord of the Flies, fire may be the boys best
escape route and only hope for survival, but, for the time being, Jack and his
hunters must do what is necessary to provide food to allow possible survival.
Introduced in chapter two, the element of fire becomes prominent, and, although
unaware at the time, the boys would later realize that fire may be their last glowing
bit of light on an island shrouded with smoke. Ralph insisted that the boys keep the
fire running at all hours of the day, hoping that a rescue boat or helicopter might
appear to set the boys free and save them from this hellish nightmare of a life. There
s another thing. We can help them to find us. If a ship comes near the island they

In everyday life, fire is necessary because humans use fire for cooking, smelting,
and heating purposes, and humans rely on fire as the basis for existence. When
Jack allows the fire to go out by diverting their attention from the fire to hunting for
pigs, chaos ensues in Ralph s desperate, yet successful, attempts to reignite the fire.
Ralph becomes enraged that Jack would distract the boys from the fire although
Jack s ability to get food for survival proves to be much more helpful in the short
term, but Ralph disregarded this mindset of food before fire. In his hierarchy of
needs, Maslow place s safety, which includes fire, on the second tier of his
hierarchy of needs, but he places food on the first and most important tier, along
with water, as a bare necessity. Jack helps more than the fire does because he
provides the pig meat, and without food, the boys on the island would certainly die
slowly and painfully of hunger. The boys desparation to restart the fire shows the
island s likeness to a society walking a tightrope between civilized and primitive, id

Why I Want To Become An Athletic Trainer
I would like to pursue my career after high school to become an Athletic Trainer.
The reason I want to become a trainer is to stay near the sports field because I
wanted to be a professional athlete but I noticed that wasn t going to work because I
never had the time to stay in sports. I love playing and watching sports, I prefer
helping with basketballplayers and track and field athletes but wherever I can pursue

Organizational Development (OD)
Organizational development (OD) is an application or process of building a greater
level of efficiency within the organization. OD develops the ongoing effort geared
for long term effects. OD works to help management and employees on a variety of
levels. Organizational development is perhaps unequaled in its ability to meet any
type of organization needs. However, the solutions developed from the role of OD
may not be necessarily interchangeable with different organizations (Grant, 2010).
According to traditional theorists such as Fayol, Weber, and Taylor, a school of
thought identifies a level of agreement in their view of organizational system
implementation. These classical theorists indicate in their readings that there is ...

In order for an organization to have effective management, it must have a well
designed management process (Koontz Weihrich, 1990).
For example, the design of the office building by an engineer; if the engineer does
not adequately design the office building for the various types of occupants, it could
prove catastrophic. In a sense, the management model can perhaps offer a similar
view or perspective in much the same way; in its design to fit the overall purpose of
the organization. The lack of design will have disastrous consequences (Koontz
Weihrich, 1990).
Koontz and Weihrich (1990) Organizational development as well as management
coincide with one another. Organizational development seeks to offer a systematic
process of identifying and solving problems as they occur over time. However, the
greatest tasks of organizational developments are determining what techniques to use
to make sure the organization continues to improve while fueling the growth of the
organization (Koontz Weihrich, 1990).

Principles of scientific management
The scientific approach to management is one of the earliest methods used by
organizations. Taylor s systematic processes initially defined in 1910 gathered a
multitude of support as his techniques develop a general understanding of the

My Love Of Music
Ever since I was a little girl I would sing everywhere, in the bathroom, the car, at
school, and at parties but my favorite spot has always been in the shower. I would
never sing in front of my brother, he would always tease me about my voice. Being
teased made me feel like I wasn t good enough. Because of that I stopped singingfor a
while. At that time, I didn t know what to do singing had been part of my life even
before I even came out the womb. I ve been told my aunt would sing to me
frequently. I felt completely at lost, I was unidentifiable with myself. I need music
in my life. In elementary I spent most of my time in the music room with my
music teacher, he would give me tips to improve my voice. Not only did he teach
me how project my voice and overall make me sound better, he also taught me how
to play various instruments. For starters, I developed a growing love for piano. I am
deeply grateful for the personal time he took to develope my love for music, sadly I
took a break at 15 because after I helped my brother move into his dorm five hours
away from his home, I came home and felt a little lost.
I found my second obsession a few months later. It was often referred to as Tiny
guitar with four strings . It was a ukulele my music teacher never corrected me, he
would alway smile or laugh. After a long day of school he pulled me aside, he told
me how proud he was to see me continue my passion for music and he bought me a
ukulele. I still have the ukulele

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus As A Disease State
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is a disease state which increases with age and targets
many ethnicities and populations.1 Type 2 diabetes is not a condition that an
individual is born with, rather, it is a condition that is acquired later in life
beginning as early in adolescence. The ethnicities in which type 2 diabetes is most
prevalent in are: Native Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, African
Americans, and Pacific Islanders. Most cases of type 2 diabetes are associated
with an obese and sedentary lifestyle meaning poor eating habits and lack of
exercise. In the United States, 11.3% of people 20 years old and over are diagnosed
with type 2 diabetes. There are many risk factors in the development in type 2
diabetes, these risk factors include but are not limited to: family history, obesity,
chronic physical inactivity, race or ethnicity, history of glucose tolerance, impaired
fasting glucose, or hemoglobin Alc and hypertension. Type 2 diabetes is often
assumed to be asymptomatic. However, an increase in urination lethargy has been
reported in a majority of patients. There are pharmacological and nonpharmacological
treatments to manage type 2 diabetes. Pharmacological treatments can vary
depending on the severity of the type 2 diabetes, nonpharmacological approaches
recommended are diet and exercise. The pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes occurs
mainly in the brain, neurons and other non insulin dependent tissues, in which 75%

the MACS building, The Union, Kamm Hall, and Bonds. I would also make sure
to signal the member that he or she is looking at the correct message, by applying a
small check mark or X on the message. The goal of these messages is to look
normal to the everyday person, but to the members of my group, they would see
the code and when they enter it to a vigenere cipher to decrypt the regular alphabet
message to get the desired message. The message that the member would receive
from breaking the cipher would be a password to a program pre installed on every
USB used, the member would enter the correct password and would be granted
access to the file sharing program that will allow them to grab an important file or
to upload for other users. The main concern with this is that the Greek life system
may crack the encrypted text and try to enter a password. So, the way that I would
counteract this would be to set a time to pick up the information and notify my
group of the time limit, because the program would either lock up after a certain
time or it would if possible would either delete itself from the USB or move the
program to a secondary dead drop location in case if a location is exposed and to

which Europe fell into what has become known as the Great War . What started as
a minor squabble between Austria Hungary and Serbia, in the space of six weeks,
escalated into total war between Europe s biggest powers. Almost one hundred
years later we are no closer to answering the question of who or what was to blame

assumption would be incorrect. Germany did, at times have an overbearing influence,

This economic stability allowed the military to grow and colonise. Germany
looked for colonies in Africa, which antagonised the French and the British who
had had colonies there for years. Their relatively unsuccessful search led to
concentration on Europe. Chancellor Bulow said without a strong army and navy,
there can be no welfare for us . Bismarck provided Germany with a strong position
in Europe by allying with Austria Hungary in 1879, which encouraged military
expansion. In the early 1900 s, Germany s military expanded to greatly and
demonstrates their aggressive nature. The German army and navy could be seen as a
means of defence, but whatever the function of the system, it was intimidating to say
the least. The subsequent arms race was as a direct result of German expansion and
created European tension. Their army increased to be just 100,000 less than that of
the Russian army, and their navy expanded ten fold, which in turn made the British
navy increase (it was British policy to have a navy larger than the second and third
largest navies in Europe put together). French expenditure on defence doubled and
Russia, Austria Hungary and Italy all increased their armaments. Without the arms
race, which Germany sparked, there would simply not have been the equipment for a

Stakeholder
Stakeholders, Shareholders and Wealth Maximization
V. Sivarama Krishnan, University of Central Oklahoma
ABSTRACT
This paper attempts reconciliation between the two somewhat extreme views
espoused by the shareholder wealth maximization paradigm and the stakeholder
theory. The stakeholder theory challenges the basic premise built into corporate
finance theory, teaching and practice. Corporate finance theory, teaching and the
typically recommended practice are all built on the premise that the primary goal of a
corporation should be shareholder wealth value maximization. Extant theoretical and
empirical research in financial economics also generally accept shareholder wealth
maximization as the normative and ideal goal on which all ... Show more content on

This paper is an attempt at reconciling the two somewhat extreme views espoused by
the shareholder wealth maximization paradigm and the stakeholder theory. It aims to
provide a fair and balanced review of the two approaches to corporate goal setting
and their respective implications to business decision making. We also attempt to
address what is felt as a lack of dialogue between the two camps. The paper is
organized as follows. The first part provides a summary view of the shareholder
wealth maximization approach, which we call the traditional finance paradigm. This
is followed by a review of the current research and the salient parts of the stakeholder
theory. The following section presents a summary of the critique of the stakeholder
theory by two of the most eminent and perhaps the strongest critics of the theory,
Michael Jensen (2001) and Elaine Sternberg
(1999). This is followed by what we consider as our own insight into the stakeholder
theory and our attempt at reconciliation between the two approaches. The last section
provides summary and concluding comments.
THE FINANCE PARADIGM
The traditional finance paradigm puts the shareholder wealth maximization as the
primary goal of corporate management. This paradigm is built upon the classic
competitive markets assumption. Essentially, it is assumed that all participants who
have transactions with a firm employees, suppliers, customers, lenders, etc. are

The company needs to upgrade its computer equipment. There are two upgrade paths
to consider. In this proposal, we demonstrate how equipment leases take advantage of
the benefits of reduced depreciation and taxation, easy scalability, reduction of IT
staff usage, reduced energy costs, and reduction of capital spending. The company
can free up money overall and maintain better control of the IT budget by leasing. The
cost of equipment is spread out over a 3 year period by leasing. There are no disposal

Computer technology evolves rapidly. There is a distinct advancement year to year.
Computers handle more processing power, use less energy, and depreciate like

opportunity to upgrade equipment for a fraction of the cost of purchasing. With
better equipment, the company stays ahead of the IT curve and improves on
productivity from all departments that utilize the in house private network. IT
equipment has an expected useful life of five to eight years.
Britany Maynard Case Study
Britany Maynard, a 29 year old Florida resident, was diagnosed with stage 4
malignant brain tumor. Her husband, Bill Maynard, has been by her side throughout
it all, even though he is having an affair with his secretary, Nicole Burke. After
being advised that she [Britany] only had six months to live, she came to the
conclusion that no treatment can save her life. Britany is aware that her husband is
having an affair and blames her health condition for this. Within time, Britany s
condition worsened and she spoke to her husband about helping her end her life in
so that Bill could finally live his. Bill was not willing to help his wife in committing
suicidebut did not seek medical assistance after she made that request.
Due to these facts, Britany decided to reach out to Nicole and invite her over,
without Bill s knowledge. Britany asked Nicole if she could bring her sleeping
pills so she could take them to fully shut down her body s system. Nicole was
hesitant to do so but Britany managed to convince her and she left the sleeping
pills on Britany s bedside. At night, after her husband fell asleep, Britany took six
sleeping pills and died in her sleep. When Bill woke up in the morning, he noticed
a bottle of sleeping pills next to his unconscious wife and contacted 911. He was not
aware on how his bedridden sick wife managed to get the sleeping pills. When it was
ruled that she was dead, he asked for her blood to be tested, and traces of the sleeping
pills were found.
Questions Presented
Whether Nicole Burke, mistress of Bill Maynard, husband of the deceased, Britany
Maynard, is guilty of manslaughter when she assisted Mrs. Maynard in committing
suicide, by leaving her sleeping pills on her nightstand, knowingly knowing the
effects it would have on Britany s body and health.
Brief Answer
Yes. Nicole deliberately assisted Britany in the commission of self murder and under
Florida Statute В§782.08 she is guilty of manslaughter. Furthermore, to strengthen
this charge, Florida Statute В§ 765.309(1) does not authorize mercy killing.
Applicable Statutes

sales, window shopping, outlet visits or browsing the internet shops for ideas,
when not having anything better to do. Instead, prepare a shopping list in advance
and stick to it, e.g. only buy the new trousers you actually need. Another way to
reduce impulse buys is; leave the debit cards at home when you are shopping and

addition, it is also easier to limit the amount you put in your pocket in advance.

For if Superman wanted to, he could rule the world and no one would be able to

The Constitution And The Texas Constitution
A constitution is an accumulation of principles and rules that establishes the
character of a government. Additionally, by showing the authority each part of the
government holds, it is describing the organization and regulation of the government
and how a society must conform. The Texas constitution has been reformed on
multiple occasions and is troublesome to amend due to it being highly restrictive and
detailed. The process on how to amend the Texas constitution, the attempts and failure
of the constitutional reform in the 1970 s and why Texas should adopt an easily
accessible and flexible constitution are the primary focal points that will be addressed
throughout this essay. Texas, amongst many of the state constitutions, has had a great
deal of proposals to amend the state constitution. Reminiscing back to 1876 when the
Texas constitution was adopted, there have been six hundred and sixty six
prospective proposals to amending the constitution. However, of the six hundred and
sixty six proposals, four hundred and eighty four have been ratified leaving the
remaining few defeated by the Texas voters. Furthermore amending the Texas
constitution, according to Article 17 of the Texas constitution involves applying a
two step process. The process starts off by obtaining a two thirds vote from each
house in the legislature and a majority vote by the voters. The two thirds vote consists
of having one hundred members from the House of Representatives and twenty one

Scott Anderson exhibits the fact that Greg Ousley is a dynamic character by telling
that Greg greatly matures in prison, becomes educated, and wants to work with
young people upon being released. The change in Greg that first appears is his
growth to maturity in prison. This is portrayed when the author states, he
occasionally turned to prison dope and moonshine for brief relief, but Greg says, I

superintendent exemplifies the fact that he has grown in maturity since the days of
prison dope and moonshine because of the trust that the prison officials have in him.
Greg becomes further dynamic by becoming an educated person. Greg pursues an

Analysis Of Kurtz s The Russian Harlequin
Very briefly summarize (7 10) the plot of the chapter
Marlow learns the the Russian harlequin is devoted to Kurtz, although Kurtz does not
reciprocate these same feeling, and he also learns that Kurtz spends the majority of
his time with native Africans, raiding various villages for ivory. The man himself
shows up, but is a contrast to the previous description of him; he is ghostly, bony and
dying; his voice however, is penetrating and booming, and commands the actions of
the natives around him. Moments later, a group of natives gather outside the cabin in
which Kurtz has been place into rest, among them is an Kurt s lover, and African
goddess who embodies the beauty and the savagery of the land around her. After
her appearance, Kurtz and the manager are involved in an argument, in which
Marlow sides with Kurtz, finishing his career. Later on, Marlow learns that the
previous attack on the steamer was Kurtz s doing, as the Russian asks him for
supplies to escape Kurtz s station. Afterwards, awoken by drumming, Malow goes
after Kurtz in a savage impulse and finds Kurtz in some bushes, crawling towards an
African warlock, and proceeds to bring him back to the station. The next day, Marlow
takes Kurtz and leaves the post on the streamer, against the wishes of the African
people; it is on this journey that Kurtz dies after professing some disturbing
comments. Marlow later finds himself in England, unable to live together with the
rest of the population after his experiences.

dinosaurs don t exist in today s world. A long time ago the only thing that existed

dinosaurs were unique because they could talk but nobody could understand them, it
was like their secret code language. These dinosaurs lived a happy and healthy life
until the small explosion changed the life of these dinosaures. Just few miles away

was about who would shine more light on earth. The argument went to the point
where they started to shoot fireballs at the moon and then the moon started to throw

However, after these subsidiaries were acquired by Corning, they were required to
submit a formal capital appropriation request prepared in English. The subsidiary
general manager then had to chase it to the end through a series of corporate
decision making filters. This allocation system had other major implications on the
relationship between the technical personnel on each side. Whereas before, the
technical managers from the parent company provided assistance to subsidiaries on
projects, the former now became a part of the judge and jury system to decide on
the capital allocation to these subsidiaries. As a result, the technical managers tended
to become more conservative with their advice and assistance to the subsidiaries.
viii) Due to the incoherency of its area based organization structure, CIC found itself
grappling with the global marketing coordination necessary for some businesses.
There was no one who was responsible for coordinating between different foreign
subsidiaries on global actions like price, product, sourcing etc. The needs of global
product development were not being communicated to the R amp;D
Muscle Contraction Lab
This lab was conducted to test the muscle reaction to three different solutions and
observe the muscle contraction in the presence of each solution. We predicted that
ATP solution in distilled water might cause muscle contraction since ATP alone binds
to myosin to break the cross bridge and enable the myosinto rebind to actin at the next
musclecontraction. ( ATP and Muscle Contraction
. Boundless Biology) All three
groups were given a 2cm length of psoas muscle, which was placed on a
microscope slide with a small drop of glycerol. First, we measured each fiber, and
then added 2 drops of one of the solutions, Solution A; .25% ATP in distilled water,
Solution B; .25% ATP solution in water, .05M KCI, .001 M MgC12 in distilled
water, and Solution C; .05 M KC1, .001 M MgC12 in distilled water. We waited 30
seconds after adding the solution and we measured the fiber again to see if there was
any muscle concentration after adding the solution. Our hypothesis was not
supported, because the fiber size did not change.
Purpose:
The purpose of this lab was to learn if any of the three solutions used for the
experiment would cause the fiber to have a muscle contraction and if there wasn t
any muscle contraction, understand why the solution didn t cause a muscle
contraction.

(Table 1) ATP alone causes myosin to break the cross bridge and allow the myosin to
reattach to the actin causing a muscle contraction, since the solution we used had
ATP; I believed that that was enough to cause the fiber contraction. I thought that we
had done our experiment in correctly because there was no muscle contraction. I
believed that it was due to the amount of solution we added to the fiber. We re did
the experiment and added four drops of the solution but there was no muscle
contraction as
A Brief Note On Bill Heaps, Partner At W.e
MEMO: Deductibility for TPL Expenditures To Bill Heaps, Partner at W.E. Charge,
Often Much
Wharf
The issue at hand is whether or not the repairs and maintenance to the wharf are
deductible under the Income Tax Act 2007 (ITA). Repairs and maintenance are
allowable deductions under section DA 1 ITA, however, the deductibility is reliant on
whether or not the fact situation meets a two stage test which the Inland Revenue
Department (IRD) has outlined in an Interpretation Statement: IS 12/03.
1.1 The First Stage
The first stage of the two stage test, as outlined by the IRD, is the identification of
the asset being worked on. Determining this asset is always a question of fact,
degree and impression . The courts have determined that what is necessary here is
a certain test, the entirety test , in which you must determine whether or not a
physical thing satisfies a particular function or use, as in Lindsay v FCT and
Auckland Gas Co v CIR. As such, you must ascertain whether or not the particular
asset being worked on is it s own distinct thing or whether it is a part of a larger
asset. The next thing to consider here is the meaning of a distinct asset .
Characteristics of a distinct asset which can be taken into consideration are things
like its location or whether it is physically separate from other things, as in the cases
of Case F67 or Hawkes Bay Power Distribution Ltd v CIR. Another helpful
consideration, as outlined in IS 12/03, is determining what the function

Essays On The Holocaust. Admitting the Holocaust: Collected Essays by Lawrence L. Langer ...

  • 1. Essays On The Holocaust Crafting an essay on the subject of the Holocaust is an endeavor that demands a delicate balance of sensitivity, thorough research, and a profound understanding of historical events. The Holocaust is a deeply tragic and emotionally charged topic, making it inherently challenging to approach with the necessary academic rigor while also acknowledging the profound human suffering involved. First and foremost, the gravity of the subject requires meticulous research to ensure accuracy and depth of understanding. The essay must delve into historical records, survivor testimonies, scholarly analyses, and various perspectives to present a comprehensive view of the events. Navigating through the extensive body of literature on the Holocaust is no small feat, and the writer must sift through the vast amount of information to construct a well-informed narrative. Moreover, the emotional weight of the Holocaust necessitates a nuanced and empathetic approach. Balancing the academic tone required for an essay with the need to convey the human tragedy involved is a delicate task. It requires a careful selection of language to avoid minimizing the gravity of the events while maintaining an objective and analytical perspective. Addressing the ethical considerations surrounding the Holocaust is another layer of complexity. Writers must be aware of the potential for their work to be interpreted in ways that could be offensive or hurtful. Striking a balance between academic discourse and ethical responsibility becomes crucial, adding an extra layer of difficulty to the writing process. In conclusion, composing an essay on the Holocaust is a formidable task that demands not only scholarly acumen but also emotional intelligence. It requires a writer to navigate through a sea of historical records, maintain sensitivity to the human suffering involved, and address ethical considerations with care. Ultimately, it is an undertaking that necessitates a profound respect for the gravity of the subject matter. (Without mentioning the topic) For those seeking assistance in crafting essays on historical events, sensitive topics, or any other academic subjects, a variety of resources are available. • 2. Homosexual Memo I decided to choose Joe because as a fellow Caucasian male, I more closely felt how he felt more than I did with the two girls from foreign countries and the two African American males. Although I am not homosexual, being white made me feel his story more. I can t relate to being a racial minority. Being a homosexual person today requires you to adapt. To adapt means to change your behavior to accommodate what others are doing. Although more and more people are opening up to the thought of same sex marriageand all that, there are still a lot of people who oppose it and think that it is immoral. People have to realize that white people can be bad too. I guarantee that other cultures think we are bad because of what some crazy white people have done. I agree with what Vera said. In every culture there are extremists. The same goes for white people. Not every African American is a bad person, not every Arab is a terrorist. I think if people got to know what these people actually stood for and the type of people they are, then racism would be ridden from our country. But until then, we will never be a good society. For me personally, when my friend moved to Iowa from Vietnam back in 3rd grade, I wasn t terrified, I didn t question the things he stood for or any of that. There were never any thoughts of discrimination or racism with him.
  • 3. The Myth Behind the Singing and Chirping of Birds Since the beginning of time, people have always wondered why birds sing and chirp. The answer lies in The Legend of the Birds. Here is how it goes... Once upon a time, in a land far away, there was a tree that reached to the heavens. Inside this tree there lived all the birds in the world of different breeds, color, shapes, and sizes. Now each birdlived peacefully in the tree speaking the language that humans do today. The flock of the birds included laws about obeying the rules, how to act, and the most important rule, which was to never travel to the land of the Pandas, Pandaria. There was a bird by the name of Duck who loathed these rules because he thought it was unfair to not be able to travel to the land of the Pandas. After all, what would a panda do to them? So it all started when Duck broke the law of the birds. Duck had always been curious what is at the land of the Pandas. He decided the rule of the birds was dumb and decided to go and check out the Panda s place. So Duck flew a long way from his home until he finally reached a large area filled with bamboo. The large pointed bamboo made Duck uncertain for a little while, but then he decided he wasn t about to chicken out and flew right in. Right on time, Duck noticed some Panda maidens and sneakily flew over them without being seen. Out of the corner of his eye, Duck noticed a grand room guarded by many Panda warriors. He decided to check it out without making any noise; he flew right over the warriors

  • 5. The Emergence of a Young Girl into Womanhood Across several different cultures, there are different ways in which people of a community recognize the emergence of a young girl into womanhood. In the United States the most common is the famous Sweet Sixteen which as in the name states: relates to being sixteen years old, getting a car, and having some sort of celebration to commemorate the birthday. Among others include the Quinceanera which is usually equated with Mexico and Bat Mitzvahs which is a Jewish girl s rite of passage. Another rite of passage, called Kinaalda, is a puberty ceremony that holds the same importance and significance among the Navajo tribeas their creation story. Unlike American society, during the people s lifetime there is not a time between child and adult. In the Navajo culture it seems that it is more plausible to say that the time between being a child and adult or as stated by Leighton and Kluckhohn (1947), physical maturity and social maturity are more nearly coincidental. Meaning unlike the American culture where the gap between childhood and adulthood is filled with an adolescence, and in the Navajo tribe this gap is not prolonged and instead this transition is commemorated by a four night ceremony. This process begins at the Navajo girl s first menstruation and is a way to announce to the whole community that she has become a woman. In earlier marriage customs, a year or so after the ceremony the girl would be considered ready for marriage; as a result, some felt that a girl s

In my opinion, education reform is useless due to a variety of occurrences going on in the world that nobody is focused on and changing these schools to make them more efficient for all students. According to the text, multiculturalism is the view that cultural diversity in a country is something good and desirable. It takes its cue from the theory of cultural relativism, and assumes that each group has something to offer and learn from the others. Cultural conflict, on the other hand, refers to the issues that arise from diversity, such as racism, terrorism and ethnocentrism. The history of multiculturalism spans across different cultures. There are many different forms of it, but multiculturalism has its basis in the need for equality. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mortgage crisis is simply one side of the coin. The main cause of the mortgage crisis is the changes in policy for the mortgage industry. In the past, a fixed mortgage was the prime form of lending. All mortgages have the same payments for the mortgage duration and a large down payment was essential. The calculation of the mortgage was based on the initial amount borrowed, and house assessment rather than the rising value of the income and the house over the years. In order to encourage people to buy more houses and boost the real estate market, the homebuilders, financial lenders, and the government created new financial instruments of calculation that were not researched properly. Lenders sold mortgages to investors that allowed the risk of default to be covered even though the mortgage was in a financial stretch for the borrower. Borrowers did not read the fine print and made decisions that they could not afford. The major banks Federal and otherwise, kept the interest rates low causing investors to take risks to get high returns in the short term, disregarding the long terms security of the whole process. The result was sub prime borrowers could buy houses they could not afford and prime borrowers could have extra cash flow that in normal circumstances would not have been possible, allowing lenders to make bigger plans in terms of growth etc. The housing epidemic created a false market boom that drove prices up as consumer demands grew.

Ralph becomes enraged that Jack would distract the boys from the fire although Jack s ability to get food for survival proves to be much more helpful in the short term, but Ralph disregarded this mindset of food before fire. In his hierarchy of needs, Maslow place s safety, which includes fire, on the second tier of his hierarchy of needs, but he places food on the first and most important tier, along with water, as a bare necessity. Jack helps more than the fire does because he provides the pig meat, and without food, the boys on the island would certainly die slowly and painfully of hunger. The boys desparation to restart the fire shows the island s likeness to a society walking a tightrope between civilized and primitive, id and

OD develops the ongoing effort geared for long term effects. OD works to help management and employees on a variety of levels. Organizational development is perhaps unequaled in its ability to meet any type of organization needs. However, the solutions developed from the role of OD may not be necessarily interchangeable with different organizations (Grant, 2010). Organizational development seeks to offer a systematic process of identifying and solving problems as they occur over time. However, the greatest tasks of organizational developments are determining what techniques to use to make sure the organization continues to improve while fueling the growth of the organization (Koontz Weihrich, 1990). Taylor s systematic processes initially defined in 1910 gathered a multitude of support as his techniques develop a general understanding of the organization s workflow. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This paper is an attempt at reconciling the two somewhat extreme views espoused by the shareholder wealth maximization paradigm and the stakeholder theory. It aims to provide a fair and balanced review of the two approaches to corporate goal setting and their respective implications to business decision making. We also attempt to address what is felt as a lack of dialogue between the two camps. The paper is organized as follows. The first part provides a summary view of the shareholder wealth maximization approach, which we call the traditional finance paradigm. This is followed by a review of the current research and the salient parts of the stakeholder theory. The following section presents a summary of the critique of the stakeholder theory by two of the most eminent and perhaps the strongest critics of the theory, Michael Jensen (2001) and Elaine Sternberg (1999). This is followed by what we consider as our own insight into the stakeholder theory and our attempt at reconciliation between the two approaches. The last section provides summary and concluding comments. THE FINANCE PARADIGM The traditional finance paradigm puts the shareholder wealth maximization as the primary goal of corporate management. This paradigm is built upon the classic competitive markets assumption. Essentially, it is assumed that all participants who have transactions with a firm employees, suppliers, customers, lenders, etc. are

Additionally, by showing the authority each part of the government holds, it is describing the organization and regulation of the government and how a society must conform. The Texas constitution has been reformed on multiple occasions and is troublesome to amend due to it being highly restrictive and detailed. The process on how to amend the Texas constitution, the attempts and failure of the constitutional reform in the 1970 s and why Texas should adopt an easily accessible and flexible constitution are the primary focal points that will be addressed throughout this essay. Texas, amongst many of the state constitutions, has had a great deal of proposals to amend the state constitution. Reminiscing back to 1876 when the Texas constitution was adopted, there have been six hundred and sixty six prospective proposals to amending the constitution. Before the consolidation, the decision process for capital allocation was done primarily by the local managers of the foreign affiliate, who would then go out and raise the capital on their own. However, after these subsidiaries were acquired by Corning, they were required to submit a formal capital appropriation request prepared in English. The subsidiary general manager then had to chase it to the end through a series of corporate decision making filters. This allocation system had other major implications on the relationship between the technical personnel on each side. Whereas before, the technical managers from the parent company provided assistance to subsidiaries on projects, the former now became a part of the judge and jury system to decide on the capital allocation to these subsidiaries. As a result, the technical managers tended to become more conservative with their advice and assistance to the subsidiaries. viii) Due to the incoherency of its area based organization structure, CIC found itself grappling with the global marketing coordination necessary for some businesses. Charge, Often Much Wharf The issue at hand is whether or not the repairs and maintenance to the wharf are deductible under the Income Tax Act 2007 (ITA). Repairs and maintenance are allowable deductions under section DA 1 ITA, however, the deductibility is reliant on whether or not the fact situation meets a two stage test which the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has outlined in an Interpretation Statement: IS 12/03. 1.1 The First Stage The first stage of the two stage test, as outlined by the IRD, is the identification of the asset being worked on. Determining this asset is always a question of fact, degree and impression . The courts have determined that what is necessary here is a certain test, the entirety test , in which you must determine whether or not a physical thing satisfies a particular function or use, as in Lindsay v FCT and Auckland Gas Co v CIR. As such, you must ascertain whether or not the particular asset being worked on is it s own distinct thing or whether it is a part of a larger asset. The next thing to consider here is the meaning of a distinct asset . Characteristics of a distinct asset which can be taken into consideration are things like its location or whether it is physically separate from other things, as in the cases of Case F67 or Hawkes Bay Power Distribution Ltd v CIR. Another helpful consideration, as outlined in IS 12/03, is determining what the function
