Essays On The Environment
Crafting an essay on the broad and multifaceted topic of the environment presents a unique set
of challenges. The difficulty lies not only in the vastness of the subject matter but also in the
need for a balanced exploration of various dimensions – from ecological concerns to social,
economic, and political aspects. To do justice to such a comprehensive theme, one must delve
into scientific data, scrutinize policy frameworks, and consider the ethical implications of human
actions on the environment.
The complexity increases as the writer attempts to navigate through the myriad of environmental
issues, such as climate change, deforestation, pollution, and biodiversity loss. Striking the right
balance between providing detailed information and maintaining the reader's interest can be a
delicate task. Moreover, addressing the urgency of environmental problems without succumbing
to a pessimistic tone requires finesse.
Research plays a pivotal role in overcoming the difficulties associated with this topic. Staying
abreast of the latest developments, scientific findings, and policy changes is crucial for
presenting a well-informed and relevant essay. The need for interdisciplinary knowledge is
apparent, as environmental issues often transcend the boundaries of individual academic
disciplines.
Additionally, crafting a compelling argument that not only highlights the problems but also
proposes viable solutions adds another layer of difficulty. The writer must grapple with the
challenge of presenting actionable recommendations without oversimplifying the complexities of
environmental issues.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the environment demands a nuanced understanding of
scientific, social, and political aspects. It requires the ability to synthesize vast amounts of
information, maintain a balanced perspective, and propose constructive solutions. Despite the
challenges, addressing such a crucial and timely topic can be immensely rewarding, as it
contributes to the ongoing dialogue on sustainable living and global responsibility.

United States Government Vs. United Kingdom Government
United States Government vs. United Kingdom Government
People often vision the royal family, when thinking about the United Kingdom and
think about how the King holds the power as the Head of State. United States
government seems completely due the President being in charge instead of a King,
no one stops to think about the similarities the both governments share. The United
States and United Kingdom Government share similar aspects of their structure of
government, power the heads of government and contain the same political parties.
Representative Democracy, known as the established form of government in the
United State in which citizens can elect representatives through voting. The
Representative s duties include to develop and create laws for the citizens to obey.
The government s power divides into the following branches Judicial branch,
Executive branch and Legislative. The Judicial branch holds the power to argue the
meaning of laws and how they are applied (The White House). To prove, the branch
completes the process known as the judicial review to determine if the laws violate
the constitution. The President holds the power in the Executive branch to carry out
and enforce laws. The Legislative branch possesses the power to create laws. Unlike,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Joint Venture
0 Introduction
A joint venture (JV) means; An enterprise, co operation or partnership, formed by
two or more companies, individuals, or organizations, at least one of whom is an
operating entity that wishes to broaden its activities for the purpose of conducting a
new, profit motivated business of permanent duration. Some researchers such as
Adnan and Morledge (2003) define joint ventures as the procedure used to respond to
specific business phenomena such as access to new markets, specific government
policy, business capacity, technology transfer or economies of scale. In general the
ownership is shared by the participants with more or less equal equity distribution and
without absolute dominance by one party. This entity is subject to the joint control of
its parent firms, each of which is economically and legally independent of the other
(Shenkar, Zeira, 1987).

Each member is taken for specific scope of work and is responsible for the profit
or losses associated with that scope of work .Each member is solely responsible for
the resources necessary to perform its specified scope of work. The advantage of this
type of joint venture is that for the contractor entering in to the joint venture, each can
complement the others skills. But the disadvantage is that some contractors have put
more efforts than others, thus leading to internal conflicts (kale et al. 2005). This
type of joint venture is used in projects where total work can be divided in to
different sections. These sections can be subcontracted out to separate partners, who
are responsible for technical and administrative element of those sections. They
typically require limited relationship between parties and are used in linear projects

Donnie Darko Analysis
Donnie Darko and Run Lola Run do have some similarities, although they are faint.
Both films have a cause and effect situation to them that lead us in confusion and
suspense throughout the films. In Donnie Darko the audience are left at the ending
wondering what would have happened if the plane never crashed into his room?
/ How would Donnie act or end up if he were to live a longer life. We see the past
and present in both films seen through the characters. In Run Lola Run, when Lola
accidentally runs into a person, we see snapshots of their futures, which play out
indirectly as a response to their interactions with Lola. Compared to Donnie Darko
who is seeing his life coming to an end when Frank tells him the world is going to
end. Each film battles with the amount of timethey have to live or achieve their goal.
They also share the ideas of hidden items/meanings in the films. In Donnie Darko,
there was a photo of Donnie with bunny ears that is discreetly placed on a table near
the phone that he grabs. Comparable to the Hitchcock film being represented in Run
Lola Run, with the use of spirals and paining of the woman actress in the station
giving the vibe of Hitchcock s film Vertigo.
Time traveling, and the encountering of different people is a large aspect of both
films. In Donnie Darko, we are never in one place for two long and we are
continuously watching Donnie impact and have his life impacted by other people in
the community. Then there is Lola, who is running
Proposed Options for Ending the Foreclosure Crisis
I really didn t know much about foreclosure. So I did some research. I asked many
people of many different ages from eighteen to sixty two. A lot of people said, Just
pay the bill , but that is often easier said then done. Some said they got in over their
heads and were not able to get out. Some also said that their income and credit look
good on paper but did not cut it when it came to paying their bills. Some told me
their income had changed due to losing their jobs or having a spouse pass away.
There are many circumstances that are out of people s control. Attempting to gain
some control over the situation often is better than just praying that nothing bad will
happen.

This forgiveness period would assist with the foreclosures caused by people getting
laid off or having their income decreased. In the long run they would be paying
interest on six months or less twice, but still have a lower payment when they need it.
This plan also allows the banks to make their money, but not at the detriment of the
homeowner. This would also make it easier for the family to focus on getting a job
because they would not have to worry about losing their home as well. I would
think that it would be a horrible thing to be told Oh, you lost your job, but here we
can now take your home from you . This would also make it difficult to fix the
foreclosure crisis. Something has to give to help this situation get better, why not
have people start working together for the good of the situation instead of against
each other for themselves.
Now when dealing with the loss of a spouse, there are a lot of financial difficulties
that accompany the death of a spouse. These costs can include, but are not limited
to the cost of a funeral, medical debt, and still having to pay the normal bills; only
now with one income. Life doesn t stop because a spouse died, and the bills do not
stop either. I am sure that it is not uncommon for a person to want the financial stress
to stop for a while. It would be

Effects Of Rock And Classical Music On The Heart Rate
Of...
Introduction
Knowing how music affects heart rate can allow athletes to choose the correct music
to make them more motivated and energized during their training sessions enhancing
their performance and improving their competitive results; in addition knowledge of
what genre of music could decrease their performance and times is equally important
(Roth, 2013). It is important to know if the music has the ability soothe ill patients in
hospitals as it may reduce their heart rate to in turn reduce their stress and
discomfort levels (Edelson, n.d.). Knowing how music affects heart rate will allow
people who suffer from stress, anxiety and/or disorders such as insomnia (abnormal
inability to get enough sleep) to slow down their heart rate to relax and go to sleep
easier and faster (Barnett, n.d.)
The aim of this project is to determine the effects that rock and classical music have
on the heart rate of grade 11 girls.
Rock music will speed up the heart rate while classical music will slow down the
heart rate of grade 11 girls.

Two Kinds Essay
In this quote there is an underlying experience from it s author, Pearl S. Buck, that
contributes an explanation while solidifying the information. Buck spent most her
childhood in China, living at home with an American family and outside in a
Chinese society, and all the while observing and experiencing two lives. In
correlation to the quote, Buck has seen the divide of the societies, even in its
maternal ways, and vocalizes how no matter how a motherchooses to show care and
affection for their child, loveis deeply rooted into their practices. To set a particular
example, take a mother receiving news her child is at the top of their class. Now the
mother could be ecstatic for her child s achievement, expressing her love and

they will grow up in their vision or the way they see fit. Similarly to the quote, it is
love all the same, and in what seems like an adaptation of this quote, is the short
story Two Kinds, which perfectly embodies a clash and struggle between mother and
daughter. In the short story, Two Kinds, a mother once raised in China, flees to
America to start a new life. The nation America, to the mother, is a place of
opportunity in which one can be and do anything. Continually, the mother with a new

channels her aspirations and knowledge of America s opportunity into the narrator,
with constant tests for signs of a special attribute. Eventually, the narrator has enough

Defaulting College Tuition Debt
PROBLEM DEFINITION
Along with scholarships, fellowships, and grants, student loans are an important
method of financing post secondary education. With tuition costs rising, more
students are borrowing to pay for college education today. However, not all students
realize the burden of paying back their student loans. Many are defaulting.
Moreover, individual borrowers are not the only ones who face the consequences of
the loan default. The federal government recovers around 80% of the total defaulted
amount of student loans, losing billions of dollars each year. The latest data from
the U.S. Department of Education indicates that student loan default rates have been
rising. Official 2011 default rate is 10%. ( Comparison of FY 2011 2 Year... Show

Borrowers do not have power over the maximum amount they can borrow, over the
interest rate, over anything in fact. However, at the time of enrollment, loan is not
a real thing for the borrowers, as they do not have to worry about paying it back
right away. They face problems when they need help repaying the loans or cannot
repay the loans. Then, they have a legitimate and urgent issue to deal with, but still
no power. So the borrowers are moderately salient or expectant stakeholders
(Mitchell, Agle, and Wood 853 86). They can only choose from the available
repayment options or default on their loans.
Another group of stakeholders is the schools. Loan servicers monitor when
students do not make payments on their loans and go into default and report it to
the school and the department of education. At this point, the school tries to reach
the student and explain to them existing repayment plans or forbearance options.
If the student does not sign the repayment plan or the forbearance, the loan is
reported on a cohort default rate. (Default cohort consists of loans that go into the
repayment during a single federal fiscal year (from Oct 1 to Sept 30). There are 2
year and 3 year default cohort periods). If the reported school default rate gets to
25% in 3 consecutive years or 40% in one year, the college could lose eligibility to
participate in the Direct Loan program, and in most cases, the Federal Pell Grant
program. That is
Disproportionate Dwarfism
Dwarfism is short stature that results from a genetic or medical condition.
Dwarfism is generally defined as an adult height of 4 feet 10 inches (147 centimeters)
or less. The average adult height among people with dwarfism is 4 feet (122 cm).
Many different medical conditions cause dwarfism. In general, the disorders are
divided into two broad categories: Disproportionate dwarfism. If body size is
disproportionate, some parts of the body are small, and others are of average size or
above average size. Disorders causing disproportionate dwarfism inhibit the
development of bones. Proportionate dwarfism. A body is proportionately small if all
parts of the body are small to the same degree and appear to be proportioned like a
body of average... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So the head, trunk and limbs are all small, but they re proportionate to each other.
Because these disorders affect overall growth, many of them result in poor
development of one or more body systems. Growth hormone deficiency is a
relatively common cause of proportionate dwarfism. It occurs when the pituitary
gland fails to produce an adequate supply of growth hormone, which is essential
for normal childhood growth. Signs include: Height below the third percentile on
standard pediatric growth charts Growth rate slower than expected for age Delayed
or no sexual development during the teen years When to see a doctor Signs and
symptoms of disproportionate dwarfism are often present at birth or in early infancy.
Proportionate dwarfism may not be immediately apparent. See your child s doctor if
you have any concerns about your child s growth or overall
Fidget Spinners Essay
Something showed up at early 2017, and it instantly became a massive hit. Guess

The Golden Age Of Islamic Culture
The modern university does manifest itself in the Islamic world. The Golden Age
of Islamic culture traces its roots back to the modern university. Throughout
Islamic history, education was a point of pride and a field Muslims have always
excelled in. The Islamic world was rich, diverse, and creative. Muslims became
founders of the most major accomplishments in the world which later leads to
western and world civilizations. The Muslims were most advanced in many fields
such as mathematics, art, medicine, literature, and astronomy. It also led the way
into the development of libraries and universities. Muslims greatly advanced the
study of mathematics. Arabic numerals, the numbers the Western World uses today,
were developed by the Muslims. Compared to earlier systems, such as Roman
numerals, they made it easier for people to do calculations and check their work.
Muslims also spread the Indian concept of zero. Zero also made it easier to write
large numbers. Muslim scholar, Al Khwarizmi, is best known as the the father of

could gather around a learned scholar, attend his lectures, read books with him/her,

commitment to literacy on the part of early Muslims. Collections of texts were

The Muslims were the forerunners of European universities, having established

Investigating And Determine Compatible Naturally Based...
The objective of this project is to investigate and determine compatible naturally
based elements that can potentially replace and be integrated into the bone tissue, for
medical purposes. These elements should be similar in characteristic and structure of
the bone tissue, so that they can effectively replace the tissue and help stimulate bone
growth and cellular growth, in order to maintain bone homeostasis. In order to
achieve compatibility, factors such as 3 D polymeric structures within bone
scaffolding, cellular composition and many other aspects should be considered within
all these plausible elements.
After finding potential candidates for replacements of bone tissue, each element will
be organized based on their compatibility and traits that make them suited for
implementation. Based on the comparison of materials, we found that the bamboo
was the most suitable candidate for the implementation based on it s biocompatibility
potential, biodegradability potential and mechanical integrity.

contrast, for instance, to Willa Cather s romantic, idealistic narrator in My ГЃntonia,
whose authority Cather undercuts in the novel s introduction, Faulkner s narrator in
The Unvanquished constantly reminds us that the story he is telling is a memory and
that as a memory it is inevitably flawed he has to fill in its blank spots and he
recognizes that and he is thinking through the events of the story with a mind that is
very different than the one that experienced them.
This is beautifully apparent early in the novel as he explains that he can now
describe the events of the story with language that was not available to him as a
child. After Loosh destroys the model of Vicksburg that Bayard and Ringo were
playing with, the narrator remarks, Loosh squatted, looking at me with that
expression on his face. I was just twelve then; I didn t know triumph; I didn t even
know the word (5). The narrator again recognizes the gulf of language that now
separates him from his childhood experiences when he writes, after learning that he
and Ringo had killed a horse rather than a man, I didn t know horrified astonishment
either, but Ringo and Granny and I were all three it (29). As the novel moves forward
from these confessions of the narrator s childhood linguistic limitations, Faulkner
uses other techniques to reinforce the fact that this narrator is an adult
Swedish Vampire Films and Their Effect On Youth Essay
Vampire films are gaining popularity in many countries. The majority of these
vampire films portray one dimensional love or horror stories. Unlike other vampire
films, Let the Right One In is a complex film and novel that can be interpreted to
reflect social problems in Sweden. The film and novel illustrates a divide between
young people and adults in Swedish society. These different age groups are
represented by different characters. The Swedish vampire, Eli, is not simply a
monster, but she is a complex character with which the audience can sympathize as
she appears to be a twelve year old girl. Although Eli is not a human child, Eli
represents youth fighting against the dangers of Swedish society. Eli must murder to

If there are no benefits left for other generations of Swedes, then the youth may face
higher levels of poverty. Eli s victims contrast the people Hakan murders because
his victims are all young people. Hakan exemplifies one of the dangers youth face.
Although not fully portrayed in the film, Hakan is a pedophile. In the novel, Hakan
does take advantage of a young boy s desperate situation. The boy has no money and
must prostitute himself. The author may be directing attention to the problem of poor
youth that do not have the means to survive. This could be another example of the
social welfare system of Sweden benefitting the adults, while the children suffer. In
addition to Hakan victimizing a young boy, Hakan rapes Eli. While in Tommy s
basement, Eli was being handled, like an object (Lindquivst 392). However, Eli
fights back and escapes from Hakan. Eli s escape represents that Swedish youth
face these sexual dangers and must fight off these dangerous adults. In addition to
Hakan sexually victimizing young kids, the people Hakan harvests blood from for
Eli are young people. First, Hakan kills a teenage boy in the woods. Then, he
attempts to murder a boy at the pool, but Hakan fails as the boy wakes up and
screams for help. Perhaps the failed murder shows the progression of youth in
Sweden standing up to the oppression of dangerous adults. When young people ban
together they are able to save each other. The theme of young people saving each
Nuclear Testing Memo
The purpose for this memo is to address the recent nuclear weapon testing done by
Saudi Arabia. In the Treaty on the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) the
state Saudi Arabia acceded on October 3rd, 1988. With the current decision to run
nuclear weapon testing they have gone against this treaty they had previously agreed
upon. Due to concern in the past about nuclear weapons being purchased from
outside sources by Saudi Arabia we need to address the current problem caustically. I
propose a couple alternatives to redress this issue: (1) we hold off on sending military
troops into action, (2) get the current studies on the nuclear proliferationin that area,
and (3) address Saudi Arabia about the reasoning for sudden nuclear weapontesting.
The problem: Saudi Arabia had made the decision to run nuclear weapon testing in
their country because they believe it s a matter of national security. However this
action goes against the NPT which Saudi Arabia previously agreed upon.
Policy Recommendations:
1.We hold off on sending military troops into action. It has come to my attention that
Israel is demanding immediate sanctions against Saudi Arabia. We do need to

Nuclear proliferation in Saudi Arabia. Nuclear proliferation may could be inevitable
or good for the United States. This is all speculation and only a possibility that could
happen in the future. When looking at the current issue there is no evidence that
Saudi Arabia is a country of concern for nuclear proliferation. With this information I
believe we need to come up with possible sanctions other than war. Joseph Nye
would state that power is getting the outcomes you want. The United States has the
power already, and using that power to further influence how Saudi Arabia continues
after this issue will benefit us in the long run. France and the United Kingdom are
already trying to diffuse the issue. They are unsuccessful as of now and we could
have more influence than they have
Comparing The Two Sport Societies
Comparison Of the Two Sport Societies Comparing these two sports societies may
have seemed to be a difficult task before reading the descriptions of each. After
reading and researching, it is very clear to me that there are specific norms each
share, despite the fact that they are for different sports. In each nation, there are
similarities in the dedication that each society has towards their given sport. Even
though people may not have been dying in arguments over the sport in the American
society, there is still a sense of the same dedication and fanaticism. Another thing
about the societies that is comparable is the fan base that each society presents
towards their given sport. Both groups are very large, intensely loyal and... Show

football will never be as popular (accepted) in England as soccer, just like soccer

will be these cultural differences that will be the most important obstacle/barrier to

Grapes Of Wrath Chapter 12
When examining John Steinbeck s, Grapes of Wrath he details the story of the Joads
an Oklahoma family on their way to California in the midsts of the Dust Bowl. As he
discusses their journey towards the american dream he inserts several intercalary
chapters that break up the discussion of the Joads and shifts the focus towards the
things that symbolizes them. In the novel there are several intercalary chaptersthat are
used to depict the lies and deceit that occurs to the Joads right under their nose.
One intercalary chapter that relates to the message of the whole book is a quote
from chapter 12. The quote states, That rattle that s tappets. Don t hurt a bit.
Tappets can rattle till Jesus comes again without no harm. But that thudding as the
car moves along can t hear that just kind of feel it. Maybe oil isn t gettin
someplace. Maybe a bearing s startin to go. Chapter 12 is written from the
perspective of Steinbeck. The Joads are on the road to California and the narrator
begins talking about California gas stations. Steinbeck says that there are used car
salesman who try and get the farmers to buy parts from them and insist to the
farmers that they need will need the parts and how their cars are the best in town. In
this particular scene a family is listening to the sound of the engine in the car. The
author uses a euphemism in this passage when he is speaking as the used car
salesman in order to make the travelers believe that the car is better than it is

Power Series Method For Solving Linear Differential
Equations
ABSTRACT In this work, we studied that Power Series Method is the standard
basic method for solving linear differential equations with variable coefficients. The
solutions usually take the form of power series; this explains the name Power series
method. We review some special second order ordinary differential equations. Power
series Methodis described at ordinary points as well as at singular points (which can
be removed called Frobenius Method) of differential equations. We present a few
examples on this method by solving special second order ordinary differential
equations.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The attempt to solve physical problems led gradually to Mathematical models
involving an equation in which a function and its derivatives play important role.
However, the theoretical development of this new branch of Mathematics Differential
Equations has its origin rooted in a small number of Mathematical problems. These
problems and their solutions led to an independent discipline with the solution of
such equations an end in itself (Sasser, 2005).
1.2STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The research work seeks to find solutions of second order ordinary differential
equations using the power series method.
1.3AIM AND OBJECTIVES
The aim and objectives of the study are to: Describe the power series method. Use it
to solve linear ordinary differential equations with
Modern State Of The People s Republic Of China
Since 1949, the developed intrusive modern state of the People s Republic of China
or PRC has increasingly incorporated rule from Beijing over the autonomous region
of Xinjiang, an area that used to be populated with over 95% Muslim Turkic
speaking residents known as the Uyghurs . Though the Uyghurs speak and practice
their own language and culture, they are politically citizens of the PRC and the use
of terms such as Han and Uyghur people, are only used as constructions to generalize
groups that are contradictory. With migration of Han Chineseflowing into this area
and conductive extraction of rich natural resources, the state of Xinjiang has become
a transnational bridge to bring in both globalization and diversity to the Uyghur...

The PRC has recurrently emphasized the importance of interethnic integration of the
Uyghurs into a Han dominated society. Regardless, the Uyghurs see this as otherwise
a way of being oppressed and undermined by the central government. Compared to the
Muslims that are living in eastern and central China, the Uyghurs face more
restrictions on their religious expression and way of life (Poh) such as praying in
schools, women being criticized on wearing headscarves, and even studying the Qur
an in Arabic is controlled. Furthermore, since more Han Chinese have been moving
into the Xinjiang area, economic contingencies as well as the dominant use of Han
Chinese has been gradually phased out in most educational institutions in Xinjiang
(Poh). While Beijing has incessantly asserted that the developments made to the area
has significantly improved the Uyghur s livelihood, the minority group cannot help
but to still resonate the deep seated bitterness stemmed from decades worth of
discrimination, perceived religious and cultural suppression, and economic disparities
(Poh). These increasing ethnic tensions have resulted in significant inter ethnic
violence in Xinjiang such as the 2009 riot in Urumqi where fights against the
Uyghurs and the Han Chinese police force broke out all from protesting the equality
for Uyghur working institution. Another deliberate event which the police have been
criticizing it as a terrorist attack is the

The Start Of The 2003 Iraq War
The start of the 2003 Iraq War has been debated by many historians. The arguments
made by Krebs and Lobasz in their article Fixing the Meaning of 9/11 Hegemony,
Coercion, and the Road to War in Iraq are very persuasive, as are the arguments
made by David Lake in What Caused the Iraq War? . These arguments center around
the mindset of the Bush Administration, which was fearful of Weapons of Mass
Destruction (WMD) and eager to use the terrorist attacks of 9/11 as rationale for war
regardless of clear evidence. Other historians have presented considerable arguments
as well, such as Debs and Monteiro, who argue that Iraqs possibility of having
nuclear weapons posed concern to the Bush administration. However, the best
rationale for the start of the 2003 Iraq Warcombines the coercion model put forth by
Krebs and Lobasz with the Lake assertion that the post war rebuilding was not
adequately considered. Krebs and Lobasz have the most salient arguments on
manipulations of information, with insightful points regarding the motives of the
Bush administration. Their points, however, aren t complete as David Lake
contains stronger information in certain parts of the debate. Lake adds important
observations about Saddam s inability to admit to not having nuclear weapons and
the U.S. s failure to estimate the costs of the post war were key causes for the start
of the war. Krebs and Lobasz first point is that the Iraq War was made acceptable to
the American public by fixing

Cymothoa exigua is slowly becoming a widely known crustacean like parasite. Most
people tend to refer to this parasite as the tongue eating louse due to its evasion and
reproduction mechanisms. This parasite is only attracted to fish but most importantly
the snapper fish. Cymothoa exigua is known as protandric hermaphrodites because
they begin as males and later in their life cycle they end up switching sexes. When
Cymothoa exigua causes the fish to lose its tongue, it does not entirely affect the fish

Life Cycle/ Reproduction
The life cycle of Cymothoa exigua is unknown but one thing for sure is that they
undergo sexual reproduction. Scientists believe that when the juvenile parasite first

The Development Of Children In Maurice Sendak s Where
The...
Children s literature is the precedent for the development of all children. Children s
literature varies from poetry to children s picture books. Every aspect of children s
literature gives an ability to grow a child mentally and develop their ideas and
imagination. In early literature, children were romanized to be perfect and well
behaved. Author Maurice Sendak counters the idea of a perfect child in his book
Where The Wild Things Are . Sendak uses his picture book to illustrate a child s
ability to have feelings of anger, resentment, and frustration. The interviewer, Patrick
F. Roughen of Red Feather Journal states that Where the Wild Things Are (1963)
contains some of the earliest attempts in children s literature to represent the
intrapsychic challenges of the lives of children. Anger, frustration, and the
complexities of parent child relationships can be found throughout its pages .
Where the Wild Things Are reinforces the idea that children are capable of
emotions that one would imagine are only depicted in the adult world. Maurice
Sendak s inspirations for Where the Wild Things Are come from his own personal
issues. Once stated by Sendak max was his dearest creation . Max gave life to the
feelings that most adults ignore that children can have. Sendak, in his childhood,
dealt with an emotionally unavailable mother and was frequently sick. This allowed
Sendak to develop his imagination. In his childhood picture books, one can find
images of characters that

John Wycliffe Research Paper
The Morning Star of Inspiration
John Wycliffe was a 14th century English philosopher, theologian, and religious
reformer, whose egalitarian ideas and beliefs laid the foundation for the Protestant
Reformation. As Peter W. Williams notes in the World Book Advanced, Wycliffe
was born sometime between 1320 and 1330 A.D. in Yorkshire, England, and was
educated at Balliol College, University of Oxford (Williams). According to
Alessandro Conti in his entry in the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, John
Wycliffe was trained in the scholasticism of the medieval Roman Catholic Church,
and became disillusioned with ecclesiastical abuses (Conti). He challenged the
Church s spiritual authority and sponsored the translation of the Christian ... Show

In addition, LaTourette notes that Wycliffe said any leader who was found to be
faithless could legitimately loose his office as well as his privileges (663). In his
essays On Divine Dominion and On Civil Dominion, Wycliffe wrote the following:
Men hold whatever they had received from God as stewards, and if found faithless,
could justly be deprived of it; and If through transgression a man forfeited his
divine privileges, then of necessity his temporal possessions were also lost.
Wycliffe also maintained that sinful preachers and bishops could be outside of God
s law, and believed that There was a chance that Popes might err and that popes were
not a necessary element for the administration of the Church (LaTourette 663).
Malcolm D. Lambert, writer of Medieval Heresy: Popular Movements from the
Gregorian Reform to the Reformation, states that John Wycliffe claimed, a worldly
Pope was to be proclaimed a heretic and should be removed from office (7).
Wycliffe did not state explicitly that he considered the English church to be sinful
and worldly, but his implication was clear, and on May 22, 1377, Pope Gregory
XI issued several bills accusing Wycliffe of heresy (Williams). In autumn of the
same year, however, Parliament requested Wycliffe s opinion on the legality of
forbidding the English church to ship its riches abroad at the Pope s command
(Smyth). Wycliffe upheld the lawfulness of such a prohibition, and in early 1378, he

A Case For A Stock
2. According to The difference, (n.d.), a bond is defined as a loan from the
investor to the bond issuer, to help raise capital for a company or government. A
share is defined as a unit of ownership interest in a corporation or financial asset that
provide for an equal supply in any profits, in the form of dividends ( Shares, n.d.).
Ownership and rights
As stated in the beginning, a bond is considered as a loan from the investor.
Therefore if a person bought a bond such as corporate bonds from a bond issuer, he
or she does not have any ownership in the company with no direct control over the
business. It will be just limited to lending and borrowing.
In the case for a stock, when companies wish to expend but unable to do solely
through the income they earn and turn to the financial markets for additional
financing by splitting the company up into stocks, and then sell a portion of on the
open market. A person who buys stock is therefore buying an actual share of the
company, which makes him or her part owner (Kenny, 2016). Due to this, the person
who owns the stock (with the exception to preferred stocks) is entitled to vote on
annual general meeting.
Period of ownership
As bond has a loan period. The issuer issues a bond that contains the interest rate that
will be paid and the time at which the loaned funds (bond principal) must be returned
also known as maturity date ( Bond, n.d.) As for stocks, the owner can own for an
unlimited period until he or she
The Pros And Cons Of Smuggling
Smuggling is the illegal transportation of objects, information or people, such as
out of a house or buildings, into a prison, or across an international border, in
violation of applicable laws or other regulations . Diplomats and officials involved
in drug smuggling have benefited from diplomatic immunity via the diplomatic
bag. For example, a Venezuelan general wanted in the United States on drugs
charges and arrested in Aruba was released after the Venezuelan government
protested his diplomatic immunity and threatened sanctions if Aruba did not
release him It is of note that the Sterling submachine gun used to shoot dead WPC
Yvonne Fletcher from inside the Libyan Embassy in London was smuggled out of
the United Kingdom in one of 21 diplomatic bags in 1984 . In 2012, a 16 kg
shipment of cocaine was sent to the United Nations in New York in a bag
masquerading as a diplomatic pouch while in January 2012, Italy detected 40
kilograms of cocaine smuggled in a diplomatic pouch from Ecuador . A diplomatic
bag, also known as a diplomatic pouch, is a container whose contents are protected
from searches or seizure by the provisions of Article 27 Vienna Convention. The

Example Of Heroism
Heroes play a significant role in modern day society, as well as throughout history.
Heroes are portrayed in many different forms. A hero can be anyone that has
committed an act of heroism, by completing a task for the benefit of others instead
of oneself. Our first heroes as children tend to be our parents. Society sets a standard,
or guideline that determines if a person is correctly defined by the term heroism. A
heros cause or morals also can evolve as society changes. Heroism throughout the
course of history has changed as society has evolved.

between acts of heroism and acts of bravery are often confusing for adults, and can
be even harder for a child to understand. If heroism is not correctly demonstrated for
a child, then as an adult, a person will not be able to accurately distinguish an act of
heroism.
A persons perspective influences how one defines heroism. Perspective is the way
a person views something. (Noah Webster, Merriam Webster) Perspective can be
influenced by culture, opinions, and overall understanding of a certain concept.
As the culture in a certain area evolves, a person will then begin to change his or
her views about topics such as heroism. As society changes their views hero s may
adapt their motives. Abraham Lincoln known as an American hero for his efforts
in abolishing slavery. Abraham Lincoln was not always against slavery. Lincoln at
one point owned slaves, but as the culture and people s perspective changed, so did
Lincoln s. Slavery was not always a negative notion, it was not until Lincoln s
presidency that his perspective changed. Lincoln began to present the idea to abolish
slavery to the American people. In Lincolns case, his perspective of slavery changed
as his presidency began, causing the concept of heroism to be
The Top Cloud Service Providers
The top Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) in our market are various. Most of them
have their special advantages for surviving in fierce business competitions. Some
may have advantages on mobile app, some may have advantages on languages,
customer help and support services or prices, or others may pay more attention on
security protection and their reputation improvements. In this assignment, I picked up
four top CSPs with comparisons of their functionality, cost, security, mobile access
and customer support services. The four CSPs are Apple iCloud, Google, OpenDrive,
and Amazon.
Apple iCloud
Functionality: iCloud provides email, contacts, calendar, documents, spreadsheets,
music, photos, videos, and slideshows. It also provide view files, ... Show more

Compare to Apple, Google does not provide media streaming feature, but Google do
share files and desktop access.
Lowest monthly cost is $5 with storage space of 1GB and 25 GB for email (Lee, n.d.).
High security: Google has encrypted all their storage data with high secure VPN
access and firewall protection.
Mobile access: Google has a broad support on mobile, such as iPhone, iPad, Android,
Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, and Mobile Browser.
Customer support: Google has an excellent customer help and support system by
phone, email, and online chat.
OpenDrive
Functionality: OpenDrive has fewer features than the features of Google and Apple.
It provides the same functions as Google and Apple except email, contacts, and
calendar. Different from Google and Apple, they do support both media streaming
and share files.
Lowest monthly cost is $5 with storage space of 100 GB (Lee, n.d.).
High security: OpenDrive provides high secure access code protection and well
defined security framework and measurements.
Mobile access: OpenDrive only support iPhone, iPad and Mobile Browser, but does
not support Android, BlackBerry or Windows Mobile.
Customer support: Compare to Google and Apple, OpenDrive has a medium level of
support services by email or online ticket form.
Amazon
Functionality: Amazon features are similar to OpenDrive which are fewer than the
Doomsday In The Odyssey
This poem is relatively related to my childhood. When I got some toys from
McDonalds, I played with it for a while, and set it aside. Then I picked it up again,
played with it for a while, then set it down again. Over the next few weeks, it always
went missing, or I threw it in the bin. This is of resemblance to the boy and the
Trojan warrior toys. Now, I have become more mature and I always either donate, or
keep my old toys in a box for my younger acquaintances because I have learned to be
more responsible and to not waste resources.
I created the mood for the audience using rhyme and some word choices. For
example, in the first stanza, all my words were ending with oy, and contains
alliteration like jumping with joy to give it a sing song and light hearted manner,
which heavily contrasts with the word choice of doomsday giving it a foreboding
or a foreshadowing manner. The birthday is happy for the boy, but the Trojans are
neglected because of the new action figure, therefore having a doomsday effect. This
also brings out the boy s character, a person that likes new things but dislikes the old.
This crushes the devoted image towards the Trojans, just like a seemingly caring
mother abandoning her son/daughter(s). There is also evidence for this in the second
stanza. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have used special line breaks in the sad parts of the poem, examples are lines 16
25, to create a slow, dark and dull moment. It is also to list, as shown in lines 30 32.
I have also used personification throughout the whole poem. I made the Trojan
warrior toys alive, by making them attack and create mayhem . They seem to also
have feelings like sad and sunken . They can think like humans, having a logical
mind, knowing that their time was done when the boy took the action figure out again
and therefore deciding to run. I portray them having internal human body parts like
blood and hearts in the last stanza
Google And Coca Cola Code Of Conduct
Lixin Guo
JS3
Assignment 1.7 Every company has a code of conduct that defines not only the legal
minimum standards expected of its employees, but also how the employees should
behave to enhance the company s products and services. In a highly competitive
environment, it is especially important for the name brands to maintain their
reputation by strictly following the procedures that would provide the highest
product quality. To gain a better understanding of this topic, I have read the codes
of conduct of two global leaders, Google and Coca Cola, and I will provide my
observations and reflections on their codes.
According to its code of conduct, Google is a company that provides users unbiased
access to information, focusing on their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When an employee has a question related to the code, he or she can contact the
manager, a Human Resources representative, or Ethics Compliance . When a law is
violated, the employee can report it to a relevant government agency. Google
prohibits retaliation against anyone who makes a report and makes the Ethics
Compliance available in case of a retaliation.
Coca Cola is the most recognized brand in the beverage industry. It makes money
by selling its drinks in over two hundred countries. It also controls its own bottling
and distribution, which helps the company to be more efficient with selling the
products. From its code of conduct, it is evident that Coca Cola values integrity,
accountability, and honesty. Coca Cola wants its employees to follow the laws and
strive to make no mistake in financial reports. This is especially important because
when a scandal hits an organization, it affects people far beyond those who
committed the bad acts (Gunsalus, 46). The Code specifies that the employees are
expected to use the company s assets properly and unauthorized disclosure of
nonpublic information is prohibited, which attributes to accountability. Last but not
least, Coca Cola makes it an obligation for its employees to observe any violation of
the Code or the laws and honestly raise the issues before they complicate. These are
also the values that I think are the most important. I
I Am Passionate About Food
Exploratory Essay
A majority of individuals that inhabit this universe were not born with a talent. I,
unfortunately was no exception. I grew up stumbling through different sports teams
and art classes. From playing games of softball to attending pottery classes, nothing
really stuck to me. I was beginning to doubt I would ever find anything I was truly
passionate about until recently. I have realized that I am passionate about food. Not
just eating it, but also studying it as it is processed though the body. I was initially
introduced to nutrition through my own poor eating habits. I was on the verge of
becoming obese when visited a Nutritionist. I was very overwhelmed with my diet
changes at first, but then became amazed at how much better I felt mentally and
physically. I was so inspired by this that I decided that becoming a Nutritionist would
be something that I want to do for a living. The quizzes from The College Foundation
of North Carolina seemed to support my decisions as well, making me even more
confident to pursue a career doing my passion.
Even though making a decision about what I want to do for the rest of my life is an
enormous deal, I am confident that becoming a nutritionist is the goal in my
educational plan. I am an extremely indecisive individual, but the passion I
encompass for living a healthy lifestyle through food is enough to make me
determined to pursue this career. As of right now I am pursuing an Associates in Arts
at Rockingham Community
The Anaconda Plan
In 1861, the United States was no longer united and its people were at war, in what is
commonly known as the American Civil War. This left President Abraham Lincoln in
a tight spot on how to go about dealing with the Southern states that had seceded, the
Confederacy, who were now at war with the Northern states, the Union. Lincoln met
with his generals to devise a strategy by which the Confederate states could be
brought back into the Union. General Winfield Scott, commanding general of the
Union army, proposed one plan of battle that he had earlier proposed to Major
General George B. McClellan. His plan came to be known as the Anaconda plan. This
plan, although it was never technically adopted, ended up being extremely successful

This was to prevent them from exporting cotton, tobacco, and other cash crops and
to keep them from importing much needed war supplies. Since cotton was the
South s staple product and what they relied on for economic success, if the trade of
this were to be shut down then they would run out of funds and lose all financial
power. The Confederate government was able to purchase a pound of cotton for as
low as 8Вў,and sell it to Europe for as much as 54Вў.This sale was often above
300% profit while considering the costs of transport.[4] Therefore, if they were to
lose this major source of income, they would begin to crumble and lose any
financial power they could possibly have over the Union. This plan was never
adopted mainly due to Winfield Scott s lack of planning. His proposal for the
blockade was not properly a strategy, despite the fact that it is often referred to by
historians as one. It did not estimate the forces that would be needed to guard the
3000 or more miles of coastline in the seceded states.[5] Nor did it consider an
allocation of resources, set out a time line, or even name points of particular
concern. Due to this lack of planning, Lincoln was extremely skeptical of the plan s
possible success. It was because his doubt of the plan s success that he chose to battle
with the Confederacy in ground campaigns, rather than waiting for a slow
strangulation of the Confederacy to occur. In the
World War II War Strategies
World War I War Strategies Compared to World War II War Strategies The
strategies, weaponry, and war tactics used in World War I and World War II differ
in many ways. World War I took place from 1914 1918 and World War II took place
from 1939 1945. These two wars were the biggest conflicts in all of military
history. The wars share a great impact on our country today. The two wars both took
place between different countries and alliances. The alliances were divided into two
groups. The first group of the world s warring nations in World War I
was called the
Central Powers which included the countries of Germany, Austria Hungry, Turkey,
and Bulgaria. The second group was called the Allied Powers which included the
countries of France,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An intelligent use of airforces is to use bombers to destroy everything the enemy
possessed. This was a technological based attack. Tactical air warfare is when
planes attack the troops on the battlefield. Some pilots enjoyed the use of fighter
bombers. This is a plane that could drop and fire bombs, cannons, machine guns,
and rockets. Troops also used a torpedo to sink ships. Tanks had small calliber guns
which were very useful for bunker breaking attacks. Most soldiers were equipped
with submachine guns. These submachine guns were very light so the soldiers had
great mobility while carrying the weapon. The alliance with the most advanced
weaponry and tactics gave some a great
Hiring Staff with a Passion for Helping People
Staff When preparing to hire staff for this program I would look to hire social
workers and case managers that have a passion for helping people. I would make it
known that if you are a person without patience then this is not a program for you
to be. I want people that are going to actually show compassion and concern when
they are helping the people. I want to hire counselors that actually good at helping
people and they have that drive and passion to help others and they have a friendly
but helpful attitude. I want the entire staff to feel like a family and have a
trustworthy atmosphere. We should all have each other s backs and pick up the
pieces to where someone else left off if they need help assisting someone. All
employees will be expected to be respectful and courteous to one another as well as
to the clients. New Beginnings will have a very important and dynamic code of
ethics and it will be required that they are adhered to at all times no matter the
circumstances. Each and every employee will at all times be responsible for
following each and every one of these codes of ethics: 1. Confidentiality 2. Ethics 3.
Quality assurance 4. Professional conduct 5. Equality and discrimination 6. Public
Knowledge. 1.Confidentiality At New Beginnings we are fully committed to
maintaining a very high degree of integrity in all of our dealings with any of our
current, potential, and past clients, both in terms of normal commercial
confidentiality and also the protection
Study on Input Controls
Running Head: INPUT CONTROLS Introduction The goal of input design is to
enhance accuracy, quality, timeliness and completeness of input data during its
conversion from its original source into computer application. Meanwhile, data could
be entered into the computer by scheduled automated processing or manually. Input
controls are the computer tools that assist in enhancing data integrity when data are
entered into the system. The input controls perform different functions to enhance
data validity and integrity. Functions of Input Controls Input controls are the
computer tools that assist in ensuring that data are accurately processed through the
application processing to ensure that data are not lost, damaged or altered. More
importantly, input controls ensure that the quality of data output is as good as data
input into the computer during the data processing. Thus, input controls enhance
integrity of data fed into the application systems. The basic function of input controls
is that they include necessary measures to ensure that input data are complete, correct
and secure. Moreover, input controls ensure that information processed by the
computer is valid, accurate, complete and accurately translated into the machine
readable form. The input controls also prevent errors input into the computer because
large number of errors identified within the computer systems is from the input
errors. Thus, input controls assist in eliminating the input errors by using common
Pedagogical Similarities Between Sankara And Mooji
Mooji, in comparison to his historical counterpart Sankara, shares many pedagogical
similarities, as well as some respective differences. In reference to Sankara s
UpadeЕ›asДЃhasri, Mooji shares major resemblances in how he delivers his
teachings, notably the poetic manner in which he presents his works. Mooji s
written works primarily consist of short poetic utterances, delivering a what could
be categorized as a philosophically artistic teaching. Sankara s teachings are also
presented in an vivid manner, priming the seeker who is studying with a mixed
variety imagery and examples, such as the tale of Udaб№…ka, the sage who
suspected Vishnu s urine from the MahДЃbhДЃrata.
Where they share the majority of their commonalities are in their teachings
themselves. The nondual tenets in which Mooji propagates regards that of Sankara s
with impeccable similarity. Mooji s philosophy, which is centered in the Advaita
tradition, is heavily influenced by his master Papaji and Sri Ramana Maharshi, both
of which propagated the Advaita tradition to a certain degree, as in fact, R. Maharshi
actually translated much of Sankara s work into Tamil and was incredibly proficient
in Vedantic scripture. Being said, it should then not come to surprise that him and
Sankara put forth near identical ideological tenets in some categorical respects. For
example, one tenet which is incredibly prominent throughout the entirety Sankara s
UpadeЕ›asДЃhasri, is his notion of action less action. He propagates that
Goldman Fristoe Case Study
Before I gave the Goldman Fristoe to Lauren, my client, I asked why she they
wanted to bring her in to the Butler University Clinic. The parents said that her
preschool teacher had a hard time understanding her in class and suggested to take
her to a speech pathologist. Lauren spoken language is English and there were no
prior medical issues. Therefore, I decided to give Lauren the Goldman Fristoe to
see what phonemes she struggled with. Since Lauren is 4 years, 10 months and 17
days old, I gave her the sounds in words section then sounds in sentences section for
ages 4:0 6:11. During the sounds in words section, I showed Lauren a series of
pictures and asked her what each picture was. Sometimes I would point out specific
out in the picture and asked her what that certain object was. This section focused on

I felt I did a decent job at giving the Goldman Fristoe to Lauren. I read the directions
and tried to make taking the test fun. I used the directions whenever Lauren did not
say the word I wanted to hear and did not talk monotone. I From the view of a client,
I felt taking the Golden Fristoe was difficult. It was difficult to mispronounce
phonemes within words. Though I practiced mispronouncing my phonemes, when I
came to taking the test, I still struggled mispronouncing them. It was easier to
mispronounce phonemes in words rather than in sentences. I also found it hard to
mispronounce phonemes during the stimulability section of the test. I felt one thing
I could have done to make the test giving process better is being more fluent when
giving the test. One thing I could have done to make taking the test easier is
mastering my incorrect phonemes. While I was taking the test, I was trying to
fronting and stopping. I thought scoring the Golden Fristoe was fairly easy. All I
had to do was add up every phoneme Lauren mispronounced in each section for a raw

  • 1. Essays On The Environment Crafting an essay on the broad and multifaceted topic of the environment presents a unique set of challenges. The difficulty lies not only in the vastness of the subject matter but also in the need for a balanced exploration of various dimensions – from ecological concerns to social, economic, and political aspects. To do justice to such a comprehensive theme, one must delve into scientific data, scrutinize policy frameworks, and consider the ethical implications of human actions on the environment. The complexity increases as the writer attempts to navigate through the myriad of environmental issues, such as climate change, deforestation, pollution, and biodiversity loss. Striking the right balance between providing detailed information and maintaining the reader's interest can be a delicate task. Moreover, addressing the urgency of environmental problems without succumbing to a pessimistic tone requires finesse. Research plays a pivotal role in overcoming the difficulties associated with this topic. Staying abreast of the latest developments, scientific findings, and policy changes is crucial for presenting a well-informed and relevant essay. The need for interdisciplinary knowledge is apparent, as environmental issues often transcend the boundaries of individual academic disciplines. Additionally, crafting a compelling argument that not only highlights the problems but also proposes viable solutions adds another layer of difficulty. The writer must grapple with the challenge of presenting actionable recommendations without oversimplifying the complexities of environmental issues. In conclusion, writing an essay on the environment demands a nuanced understanding of scientific, social, and political aspects. It requires the ability to synthesize vast amounts of information, maintain a balanced perspective, and propose constructive solutions. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Joint Venture 0 Introduction A joint venture (JV) means; An enterprise, co operation or partnership, formed by two or more companies, individuals, or organizations, at least one of whom is an operating entity that wishes to broaden its activities for the purpose of conducting a new, profit motivated business of permanent duration. Some researchers such as Adnan and Morledge (2003) define joint ventures as the procedure used to respond to specific business phenomena such as access to new markets, specific government policy, business capacity, technology transfer or economies of scale. In general the ownership is shared by the participants with more or less equal equity distribution and without absolute dominance by one party. But the disadvantage is that some contractors have put more efforts than others, thus leading to internal conflicts (kale et al. 2005). This type of joint venture is used in projects where total work can be divided in to different sections. These sections can be subcontracted out to separate partners, who are responsible for technical and administrative element of those sections. They typically require limited relationship between parties and are used in linear projects with distinct work scope (Klotz

  • 9. Proposed Options for Ending the Foreclosure Crisis I really didn t know much about foreclosure. So I did some research. I asked many people of many different ages from eighteen to sixty two. A lot of people said, Just pay the bill , but that is often easier said then done. Some said they got in over their heads and were not able to get out. Some also said that their income and credit look good on paper but did not cut it when it came to paying their bills. Some told me their income had changed due to losing their jobs or having a spouse pass away. There are many circumstances that are out of people s control. Attempting to gain some control over the situation often is better than just praying that nothing bad will happen. I figure the best way to stop foreclosure in the United States ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This forgiveness period would assist with the foreclosures caused by people getting laid off or having their income decreased. In the long run they would be paying interest on six months or less twice, but still have a lower payment when they need it. This plan also allows the banks to make their money, but not at the detriment of the homeowner. This would also make it easier for the family to focus on getting a job because they would not have to worry about losing their home as well. I would think that it would be a horrible thing to be told Oh, you lost your job, but here we can now take your home from you . This would also make it difficult to fix the foreclosure crisis. Something has to give to help this situation get better, why not have people start working together for the good of the situation instead of against each other for themselves. Now when dealing with the loss of a spouse, there are a lot of financial difficulties that accompany the death of a spouse. These costs can include, but are not limited to the cost of a funeral, medical debt, and still having to pay the normal bills; only now with one income. Life doesn t stop because a spouse died, and the bills do not stop either. I am sure that it is not uncommon for a person to want the financial stress to stop for a while. It would be

Introduction Knowing how music affects heart rate can allow athletes to choose the correct music to make them more motivated and energized during their training sessions enhancing their performance and improving their competitive results; in addition knowledge of what genre of music could decrease their performance and times is equally important (Roth, 2013). It is important to know if the music has the ability soothe ill patients in hospitals as it may reduce their heart rate to in turn reduce their stress and discomfort levels (Edelson, n.d.). Knowing how music affects heart rate will allow people who suffer from stress, anxiety and/or disorders such as insomnia (abnormal inability to get enough sleep) to slow down their heart rate to relax and go to sleep easier and faster (Barnett, n.d.) • 14. Two Kinds Essay In this quote there is an underlying experience from it s author, Pearl S. Buck, that contributes an explanation while solidifying the information. Buck spent most her childhood in China, living at home with an American family and outside in a Chinese society, and all the while observing and experiencing two lives. In correlation to the quote, Buck has seen the divide of the societies, even in its maternal ways, and vocalizes how no matter how a motherchooses to show care and affection for their child, loveis deeply rooted into their practices. • 15. Defaulting College Tuition Debt PROBLEM DEFINITION Along with scholarships, fellowships, and grants, student loans are an important method of financing post secondary education. With tuition costs rising, more students are borrowing to pay for college education today. However, not all students realize the burden of paying back their student loans. Many are defaulting. Moreover, individual borrowers are not the only ones who face the consequences of the loan default. The federal government recovers around 80% of the total defaulted amount of student loans, losing billions of dollars each year. The latest data from the U.S. Department of Education indicates that student loan default rates have been rising. Official 2011 default rate is 10%. ( Comparison of FY 2011 2 Year... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Borrowers do not have power over the maximum amount they can borrow, over the interest rate, over anything in fact. However, at the time of enrollment, loan is not a real thing for the borrowers, as they do not have to worry about paying it back right away. They face problems when they need help repaying the loans or cannot repay the loans. Then, they have a legitimate and urgent issue to deal with, but still no power. So the borrowers are moderately salient or expectant stakeholders (Mitchell, Agle, and Wood 853 86). They can only choose from the available repayment options or default on their loans. Another group of stakeholders is the schools. Loan servicers monitor when students do not make payments on their loans and go into default and report it to the school and the department of education. At this point, the school tries to reach the student and explain to them existing repayment plans or forbearance options. If the student does not sign the repayment plan or the forbearance, the loan is reported on a cohort default rate. (Default cohort consists of loans that go into the repayment during a single federal fiscal year (from Oct 1 to Sept 30). There are 2 year and 3 year default cohort periods). If the reported school default rate gets to 25% in 3 consecutive years or 40% in one year, the college could lose eligibility to participate in the Direct Loan program, and in most cases, the Federal Pell Grant program. The objective of this project is to investigate and determine compatible naturally based elements that can potentially replace and be integrated into the bone tissue, for medical purposes. These elements should be similar in characteristic and structure of the bone tissue, so that they can effectively replace the tissue and help stimulate bone growth and cellular growth, in order to maintain bone homeostasis. In order to achieve compatibility, factors such as 3 D polymeric structures within bone scaffolding, cellular composition and many other aspects should be considered within all these plausible elements. After finding potential candidates for replacements of bone tissue, each element will be organized based on their compatibility and traits that make them suited for implementation. Based on the comparison of materials, we found that the bamboo was the most suitable candidate for the implementation based on it s biocompatibility potential, biodegradability potential and mechanical integrity. In Barn Burning, Faulkner uses a third person, limited omniscient point of view that allows him to enter the mind of the story s protagonist, Colonel Sartoris Snopes. In this point of view, the narrator establishes that the story took place in the past by commenting that Later, twenty years later, he was too tell himself, If I had said they wanted only truth, justice, he would have it me again. But now he said nothing (8). The narrator of Barn Burning develops Colonel Sartoris as a child by describing his relationship with his father; no matter how many times Ab Snopes burns a barn or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the most interesting elements of this backward gaze is its self awareness. In contrast, for instance, to Willa Cather s romantic, idealistic narrator in My ГЃntonia, whose authority Cather undercuts in the novel s introduction, Faulkner s narrator in The Unvanquished constantly reminds us that the story he is telling is a memory and that as a memory it is inevitably flawed he has to fill in its blank spots and he recognizes that and he is thinking through the events of the story with a mind that is very different than the one that experienced them. This is beautifully apparent early in the novel as he explains that he can now describe the events of the story with language that was not available to him as a child. After Loosh destroys the model of Vicksburg that Bayard and Ringo were playing with, the narrator remarks, Loosh squatted, looking at me with that expression on his face. I was just twelve then; I didn t know triumph; I didn t even know the word (5). The narrator again recognizes the gulf of language that now separates him from his childhood experiences when he writes, after learning that he and Ringo had killed a horse rather than a man, I didn t know horrified astonishment either, but Ringo and Granny and I were all three it (29). As the novel moves forward from these confessions of the narrator s childhood linguistic limitations, Faulkner uses other techniques to reinforce the fact that this narrator is an adult
  • 21. Swedish Vampire Films and Their Effect On Youth Essay Vampire films are gaining popularity in many countries. The majority of these vampire films portray one dimensional love or horror stories. Unlike other vampire films, Let the Right One In is a complex film and novel that can be interpreted to reflect social problems in Sweden. The film and novel illustrates a divide between young people and adults in Swedish society. These different age groups are represented by different characters. The Swedish vampire, Eli, is not simply a monster, but she is a complex character with which the audience can sympathize as she appears to be a twelve year old girl. Although Eli is not a human child, Eli represents youth fighting against the dangers of Swedish society. Eli must murder to stay alive,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If there are no benefits left for other generations of Swedes, then the youth may face higher levels of poverty. Eli s victims contrast the people Hakan murders because his victims are all young people. Hakan exemplifies one of the dangers youth face. Although not fully portrayed in the film, Hakan is a pedophile. In the novel, Hakan does take advantage of a young boy s desperate situation. The boy has no money and must prostitute himself. The author may be directing attention to the problem of poor youth that do not have the means to survive. This could be another example of the social welfare system of Sweden benefitting the adults, while the children suffer. In addition to Hakan victimizing a young boy, Hakan rapes Eli. While in Tommy s basement, Eli was being handled, like an object (Lindquivst 392). However, Eli fights back and escapes from Hakan. Eli s escape represents that Swedish youth face these sexual dangers and must fight off these dangerous adults. In addition to Hakan sexually victimizing young kids, the people Hakan harvests blood from for Eli are young people. First, Hakan kills a teenage boy in the woods. Then, he attempts to murder a boy at the pool, but Hakan fails as the boy wakes up and screams for help. Perhaps the failed murder shows the progression of youth in Sweden standing up to the oppression of dangerous adults. When young people ban together they are able to save each other. The theme of young people saving each

In the Treaty on the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) the state Saudi Arabia acceded on October 3rd, 1988. With the current decision to run nuclear weapon testing they have gone against this treaty they had previously agreed upon. Due to concern in the past about nuclear weapons being purchased from outside sources by Saudi Arabia we need to address the current problem caustically. I propose a couple alternatives to redress this issue: (1) we hold off on sending military troops into action, (2) get the current studies on the nuclear proliferationin that area, and (3) address Saudi Arabia about the reasoning for sudden nuclear weapontesting. The problem: Saudi Arabia had made the decision to run nuclear weapon testing in their country because they believe it s a matter of national security. However this action goes against the NPT which Saudi Arabia previously agreed upon. Policy Recommendations: 1.We hold off on sending military troops into action. Power Series Method For Solving Linear Differential Equations ABSTRACT In this work, we studied that Power Series Method is the standard basic method for solving linear differential equations with variable coefficients. The solutions usually take the form of power series; this explains the name Power series method. We review some special second order ordinary differential equations. Power series Methodis described at ordinary points as well as at singular points (which can be removed called Frobenius Method) of differential equations. We present a few examples on this method by solving special second order ordinary differential equations. However, the theoretical development of this new branch of Mathematics Differential Equations has its origin rooted in a small number of Mathematical problems. These problems and their solutions led to an independent discipline with the solution of such equations an end in itself (Sasser, 2005). 1.2STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM The research work seeks to find solutions of second order ordinary differential equations using the power series method. 1.3AIM AND OBJECTIVES The aim and objectives of the study are to: Describe the power series method. The arguments made by Krebs and Lobasz in their article Fixing the Meaning of 9/11 Hegemony, Coercion, and the Road to War in Iraq are very persuasive, as are the arguments made by David Lake in What Caused the Iraq War? . These arguments center around the mindset of the Bush Administration, which was fearful of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and eager to use the terrorist attacks of 9/11 as rationale for war regardless of clear evidence. Other historians have presented considerable arguments as well, such as Debs and Monteiro, who argue that Iraqs possibility of having nuclear weapons posed concern to the Bush administration. However, the best rationale for the start of the 2003 Iraq Warcombines the coercion model put forth by Krebs and Lobasz with the Lake assertion that the post war rebuilding was not adequately considered. Krebs and Lobasz have the most salient arguments on manipulations of information, with insightful points regarding the motives of the Bush administration. Their points, however, aren t complete as David Lake contains stronger information in certain parts of the debate. Lake adds important observations about Saddam s inability to admit to not having nuclear weapons and the U.S. s failure to estimate the costs of the post war were key causes for the start of the war. Children s literature varies from poetry to children s picture books. Every aspect of children s literature gives an ability to grow a child mentally and develop their ideas and imagination. In early literature, children were romanized to be perfect and well behaved. Author Maurice Sendak counters the idea of a perfect child in his book Where The Wild Things Are . Sendak uses his picture book to illustrate a child s ability to have feelings of anger, resentment, and frustration. The interviewer, Patrick F. Roughen of Red Feather Journal states that Where the Wild Things Are (1963) contains some of the earliest attempts in children s literature to represent the intrapsychic challenges of the lives of children. Anger, frustration, and the complexities of parent child relationships can be found throughout its pages . Where the Wild Things Are reinforces the idea that children are capable of emotions that one would imagine are only depicted in the adult world. Maurice Sendak s inspirations for Where the Wild Things Are come from his own personal issues. Once stated by Sendak max was his dearest creation . A share is defined as a unit of ownership interest in a corporation or financial asset that provide for an equal supply in any profits, in the form of dividends ( Shares, n.d.). • 43. Doomsday In The Odyssey This poem is relatively related to my childhood. When I got some toys from McDonalds, I played with it for a while, and set it aside. Then I picked it up again, played with it for a while, then set it down again. Over the next few weeks, it always went missing, or I threw it in the bin. This is of resemblance to the boy and the Trojan warrior toys. Now, I have become more mature and I always either donate, or keep my old toys in a box for my younger acquaintances because I have learned to be more responsible and to not waste resources. I created the mood for the audience using rhyme and some word choices. For example, in the first stanza, all my words were ending with oy, and contains alliteration like jumping with joy to give it a sing song and light hearted manner, which heavily contrasts with the word choice of doomsday giving it a foreboding or a foreshadowing manner. The birthday is happy for the boy, but the Trojans are neglected because of the new action figure, therefore having a doomsday effect. This also brings out the boy s character, a person that likes new things but dislikes the old. This crushes the devoted image towards the Trojans, just like a seemingly caring mother abandoning her son/daughter(s). There is also evidence for this in the second stanza. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I have used special line breaks in the sad parts of the poem, examples are lines 16 25, to create a slow, dark and dull moment. It is also to list, as shown in lines 30 32. I have also used personification throughout the whole poem. I made the Trojan warrior toys alive, by making them attack and create mayhem . They seem to also have feelings like sad and sunken . They can think like humans, having a logical mind, knowing that their time was done when the boy took the action figure out again and therefore deciding to run. I portray them having internal human body parts like blood and hearts in the last stanza
  • 44. Google And Coca Cola Code Of Conduct Lixin Guo JS3 Assignment 1.7 Every company has a code of conduct that defines not only the legal minimum standards expected of its employees, but also how the employees should behave to enhance the company s products and services. In a highly competitive environment, it is especially important for the name brands to maintain their reputation by strictly following the procedures that would provide the highest product quality. To gain a better understanding of this topic, I have read the codes of conduct of two global leaders, Google and Coca Cola, and I will provide my observations and reflections on their codes. When an employee has a question related to the code, he or she can contact the manager, a Human Resources representative, or Ethics Compliance . When a law is violated, the employee can report it to a relevant government agency. Google prohibits retaliation against anyone who makes a report and makes the Ethics Compliance available in case of a retaliation. Coca Cola is the most recognized brand in the beverage industry. It makes money by selling its drinks in over two hundred countries. It also controls its own bottling and distribution, which helps the company to be more efficient with selling the products. From its code of conduct, it is evident that Coca Cola values integrity, accountability, and honesty. Coca Cola wants its employees to follow the laws and strive to make no mistake in financial reports. This is especially important because when a scandal hits an organization, it affects people far beyond those who committed the bad acts (Gunsalus, 46). The Code specifies that the employees are expected to use the company s assets properly and unauthorized disclosure of nonpublic information is prohibited, which attributes to accountability. Last but not least, Coca Cola makes it an obligation for its employees to observe any violation of the Code or the laws and honestly raise the issues before they complicate. These are also the values that I think are the most important. I
  • 45. I Am Passionate About Food Exploratory Essay A majority of individuals that inhabit this universe were not born with a talent. I, unfortunately was no exception. I grew up stumbling through different sports teams and art classes. From playing games of softball to attending pottery classes, nothing really stuck to me. I was beginning to doubt I would ever find anything I was truly passionate about until recently. I have realized that I am passionate about food. Not just eating it, but also studying it as it is processed though the body. I was initially introduced to nutrition through my own poor eating habits. I was on the verge of becoming obese when visited a Nutritionist. I was very overwhelmed with my diet changes at first, but then became amazed at how much better I felt mentally and physically. I was so inspired by this that I decided that becoming a Nutritionist would be something that I want to do for a living. The quizzes from The College Foundation of North Carolina seemed to support my decisions as well, making me even more confident to pursue a career doing my passion. Even though making a decision about what I want to do for the rest of my life is an enormous deal, I am confident that becoming a nutritionist is the goal in my educational plan. I am an extremely indecisive individual, but the passion I encompass for living a healthy lifestyle through food is enough to make me determined to pursue this career. As of right now I am pursuing an Associates in Arts at Rockingham Community
  • 46. The Anaconda Plan In 1861, the United States was no longer united and its people were at war, in what is commonly known as the American Civil War. This left President Abraham Lincoln in a tight spot on how to go about dealing with the Southern states that had seceded, the Confederacy, who were now at war with the Northern states, the Union. Lincoln met with his generals to devise a strategy by which the Confederate states could be brought back into the Union. General Winfield Scott, commanding general of the Union army, proposed one plan of battle that he had earlier proposed to Major General George B. McClellan. His plan came to be known as the Anaconda plan. This plan, although it was never technically adopted, ended up being extremely successful and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was to prevent them from exporting cotton, tobacco, and other cash crops and to keep them from importing much needed war supplies. Since cotton was the South s staple product and what they relied on for economic success, if the trade of this were to be shut down then they would run out of funds and lose all financial power. The Confederate government was able to purchase a pound of cotton for as low as 8Вў,and sell it to Europe for as much as 54Вў.This sale was often above 300% profit while considering the costs of transport.[4] Therefore, if they were to lose this major source of income, they would begin to crumble and lose any financial power they could possibly have over the Union. This plan was never adopted mainly due to Winfield Scott s lack of planning. His proposal for the blockade was not properly a strategy, despite the fact that it is often referred to by historians as one. It did not estimate the forces that would be needed to guard the 3000 or more miles of coastline in the seceded states.[5] Nor did it consider an allocation of resources, set out a time line, or even name points of particular concern. Due to this lack of planning, Lincoln was extremely skeptical of the plan s possible success. It was because his doubt of the plan s success that he chose to battle with the Confederacy in ground campaigns, rather than waiting for a slow strangulation of the Confederacy to occur. In the

Study on Input Controls Running Head: INPUT CONTROLS Introduction The goal of input design is to enhance accuracy, quality, timeliness and completeness of input data during its conversion from its original source into computer application. Meanwhile, data could be entered into the computer by scheduled automated processing or manually. Input controls are the computer tools that assist in enhancing data integrity when data are entered into the system. The input controls perform different functions to enhance data validity and integrity. Functions of Input Controls Input controls are the computer tools that assist in ensuring that data are accurately processed through the application processing to ensure that data are not lost, damaged or altered. More importantly, input controls ensure that the quality of data output is as good as data input into the computer during the data processing. Thus, input controls enhance integrity of data fed into the application systems. The basic function of input controls is that they include necessary measures to ensure that input data are complete, correct and secure. Moreover, input controls ensure that information processed by the computer is valid, accurate, complete and accurately translated into the machine readable form. The input controls also prevent errors input into the computer because large number of errors identified within the computer systems is from the input errors. Thus, input controls assist in eliminating the input errors by using common
