The Times article is also split into 4 columns, but only has one headline. It reads 20
die in cable car after jets cut wire . This heading is neutral and blames the accident
on no one, yet from the words used in The Mirror; I can see that because they use

The positioning of the headlines is again different in each paper. In The Mirror, it
is to the top left hand corner, above a picture and in a bold font. In The Times it is
found beneath a picture, approximately a third of the way down the page and is in a

has two photographs and so does The Times. I would say that the photos take up
more space in The Times article, which would not normally be expected in a
broadsheet newspaper. The Mirror includes a very simple diagram detailing the facts
of the accident whereas The Times includes a map diagram detailing the position of
the accident.
In The Mirror article I would say that the headline catches the readers attention first,
whereas in The Times article it would be the large photograph to the top of the page.

reality television. In society it appears that it is mainly the younger viewers who
prefer to watch reality television while it is older viewers who prefer to watch no
reality television shows. Method: Selecting 8 reality television shows (social
cognitive theory) and 8 non reality television shows, both selections were made
randomly and determining if the show provided new lessons or inspiration to
accomplish a new task, or to determine if the show was only for entertainment

Identifying As A Homosexual For Three Main Reasons
I feel strongly about identifying as a homosexual for three main reasons and those
are one identifying as gay wasn t a choice, two you have to be very courageous to be
out open about being homosexual, and lastly because love has no gender.
I came out during the end of my freshman year of high school the way I came out
was online through facebook letting everyone all at once that I indeed was dating a
guy. At the time I didn t know what the reactions would be but they were all good

Once disregarded, comic books have been progressively paving a way to the future
without sexism and racism in a time when they are becoming increasingly impactful
to young adults. In 1938 Superman debuted and began the future of comic books,

introduced as the first female superherocharacter, though she remained a less

Silent films first appeared around the 1890s in America. 1 They are films that were
without synchronised sound and especially no spoken dialogue. Music was
recognised as an important part of film/moving images from the beginning, as it
contributed to the atmosphere of the films and allowed the audience to understand
and feel the emotions being portrayed. 2 When music was first being combined with
moving image pianos, organs and phonographs were the first instruments used to
provide the music, and as the popularity of film grew over the years, some of the
larger theatres began using orchestras to accompany the film. 3
This early film music had many influences from different genres, such as jazz and
blues, ragtime, vaudeville, and the style of music from Broadway musicals was
also becoming popular. 4 Film composers of this era had a wealth of popular music
to draw on in order to create the music for the silent films they were working on.

Hurricanes are one of the most disastrous weather events that can occur here on
earth. The results can be very powerful and impact everyone who encounters one but
it is much harder when the event happens to you. On September 20, 2008, Hurricane
Ike passed through Galveston and ripped one of the most important places to me.

The Day Of Everyday Life
Throughout the walk of everyday life, we may find ourselves within the personal
lives of others, giving us the option to either turn the other way and pay no attention,
or to observe, and learn something about those individuals lives. The observation of
others can not only bring a whole new understanding to the many forms of
communication, but it can also provide a new perspective into something we have
never taken the time to explore and analyze. One can learn a multitude of new
things by observing family, friends, or even just strangers. This past week, I was in
the car with two of my friends on our way to a meeting together when I began to
observe their conversation. Their names are Jenni and Carlie, and we have just
recently all become very close friends. While in the car, the topic of roommates
came up, and while I really like both of my roommates, Carlie and Jenni did not feel
the same about theirs. They began to discuss in depth details about their roommates
laziness and uncleanliness. Carlie also added in that her roommate was trying to steal
all of her friends, and no longer included her in anything. Their roommates inability to
put away dishes and clean up spills pinned them with the terms lazy and irresponsible.
While Carlie and Jenni seemed to have no trouble at all finding their roommates
flaws, they never once within the conversation mentioned something that they could
possibly improve upon in order to mend the relationship. Many concepts within

Nathaniel Hawthorne was an American writer in the 1800s. He had many works of
Romanticism, most being inspired by Puritan New England. One of these is The
Scarlet Letter, which he wrote based on the Puritan era. Puritans had a series of
beliefs including: the will of God explains all natural phenomena, God chooses who
becomes one of the elect, and ministers and church members control and made up the
government. Hawthorn does include examples of Romanticism as the story goes on,
but this novel focuses more on the Puritanlifestyle throughout the timeline of the
story. Hawthorne also includes a bit of sarcasm when mentioning the Puritan s beliefs.

During Election Day, Hester says, For the Governor and the magistrates are to go by,

marching before them. (Hawthorne 105). She shows that all the important people are
the Governors, magistrates, and ministers. During Hester s punishment, the
government officials questioned her, ... the governor, and several of his counsellors, a
judge, a general, and the ministers of the town, all of whom sat or stood in a balcony
of the meeting house, looking down upon the platform. (Hawthorne 27). Hawthorn
implies that the governors, ministers, and church members dealt with the crimes in
the town.
Along with these beliefs the Puritans held, Hawthorne also included many examples
of the Puritan lifestyle. It might be that a sluggish bond servant, or an undutiful
child... was to be corrected at the whipping post. It might be that an Antinomian, a
Quaker, or other heterodox religionist, was to be scourged out of the town, or an idle
or vagrant Indian, whom the white man s firewater had made riotous about the
streets, was to be driven with stripes into the shadow of the forest (Hawthorne 23).
He describes their punishments and close mindedness on religion and they would
