Crafting an essay on the subject of Judaism can be a challenging endeavor that demands a
nuanced understanding of the religion, its history, traditions, and contemporary implications. The
complexity arises not only from the vastness of the topic but also from the need to approach it
with sensitivity and respect.
To delve into the intricacies of Judaism, one must navigate through centuries of rich cultural
heritage, theological discussions, and the diverse perspectives within the Jewish community.
Tackling the subject requires a careful examination of religious texts, historical events, and the
multifaceted nature of Jewish identity.
Moreover, discussing Judaism entails addressing not only its spiritual dimensions but also its

2. Legalization Of Cannabis In Scotland
This report provides an analysis and evaluation of the current law in Scotland
regarding cannabis. It provides information and statistics about the potential medical
benefits from cannabis use. However, in turn it shows research indicating the mental
and physical harm the drug can cause. The aim of this report was to answer the
question: Should cannabisbe legalised in Scotland? . Through the information
presented and questioned, Scotland or the UK in general should look to legalise or
decriminalise cannabis, as there is a wide array of medical benefits that cannabis can
provide for those in pain. Substances such as alcohol and tobacco are legal, yet they
are behind a substantial number of deaths and ailments throughout Scotland every

The Scottish National Party announced their backing of the decriminalising of
cannabis for medical use in Scotland last year, the members of the party sought to
gain the authority over cannabis from the UK government and that it be delegated to
the Scottish parliament. Cannabis was initially banned in 1928, medical
prescriptions however were still permitted until the introduction of the 1971 act. In
between those two years, the growing of cannabis was outlawed in 1964. Thus,
making cannabis a controlled substance. Hospital admissions from cannabis use
are apparently resulting in a ten year high . Per the analysis carried out by the
Scottish Conservatives it states that 834 (14 per cent) of the 5922 people admitted
to hospital after drug use in 2015/16 had taken cannabis. The figure is more than
double the lowest rate of 5 per cent recorded in 2000/01 but below a high of 16 per
cent in 2005/06. However, the Scottish Conservatives are known for being against
the legalisation and decimalisation of cannabis use, this information could be biased
and it cannot be affirmed if these hospitalisations were strictly from cannabis by itself
or if any other substance was
3. Introduction Of Tqm For The Maruti 800 Passenger Car
Chapter 1:Introduction to TQM
What is Quality?
In general term a product is said to be a quality product if it is able to perform its
intended function in the most economic way. Further the term quality applies
differently to different levels of customers or the groups of customers. Consider the
Maruti 800 passenger car; it is a quality product for a medium income group peoples
in India but a poor quality product to the higher income group since the
requirements are different for different income groups, a missile system for defense
forces will be a quality product it has the highest reliability in it category hence the
quality will be defined in the different ways depending upon its intended use. Garvin
divided the quality in to following five categories:
Transcendent (Inspiring or uninspiring; etc)
Product based
User based
Manufacturing based, and
Value based
Few of the quality definitions are as below:
пѓ Fitness for use
пѓ Conformance to specification
Meaning of Quality Webster s Dictionary o Degree of excellence of a thing
American Society for Quality o Totality of features and characteristics that satisfy
needs British Standard BS 4778 o The totality of features or characteristics of a
product or service that bear upon its ability to satisfy a given need
W. E. Deming o A product or a service possesses quality if it helps somebody and
enjoys a good and sustainable market. Philip Crosby o Zero defects is another way of

4. Amory Lovins’ Logic in Natural Capitalism Essay
Amory Lovins Logic in Natural Capitalism
In the first chapter of Natural Capitalism, author Amory Lovins proposes a new
method of capitalism that recognizes the importance of natural and human capital in
the industrial system. Conventional capitalism places value only on capital that
yields financial gain, and ignores the human and natural parts of the equation. Lovins
points to this as the reason for many of the environmental, social, and economic
problems on our planet today. He argues that the destructive practices of conventional
capitalism must cease, and that a new industrial revolution must happen that will
change how human beings support themselves and sustain the resources of the planet.
In this chapter he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lovins contrast of sustainable methods versus destructive methods convinces the
readers to agree with his claim and follow his proposed changes.
He discusses four key strategies for implementing natural capitalism; radical resource
productivity, biomimicry, service and flow economy, and investing in natural capital.
Radical resource productivity involves finding every way possible to increase the
usage that humans get from natural resources. This lowers the cost of materials and
decreases the amount of pollution due to wasteful consumption of resources.
Biomimicry is the term given for modeling the mechanical processes of our industries
after the self sustaining and interdependent processes found in nature. Such a
transformation would make factories more efficient and less polluting. Creating a
service and flow economy means that consumers would pay for the service a product
provides instead of buying the product itself. Instead of throwing away worn out
products, consumers can just return them to the manufacturer, who will repair them
or recycle them. Investing in natural capital means that corporations value living
systems. In this sort of system, logging companies would value not only the lumber
that they harvest, but the forest habitat where the trees came from as well. This gives
companies motivation to not strip a forest bare because they now profit from a
thriving forest habitat. This Lovins calls these points the basis of
5. The Mystery Of Crime Fiction
INTRODUCTION Crime fiction is a genre of literature that has been well
distinguished and unparalleled for generations due to the intrigue readers experience
throughout the culminating plot. Suspense accumulates as the protagonist and reader
alike must process the crimes and interpret all the evidence presented so an apt
denouement can resolve who has committed the murder and what their motives are.
As the investigation progresses, conflicts inevitably arise and pose adversity for the
protagonist as they must determine if their inclinations are correct or their focus has
been leading them astray in the process. Uncertainty plagues the mind of those who
are emotionally and professionally invested with the case. This aspect has always
been engaging because the internal conflicts the protagonist faces increases the drama
of these investigations as no one seems to have any answers, yet they are all suspects.
The point of stagnation for the investigator often forces them to reinterpret and
validate all the evidence, while ruling out any implausible instances. After this state of
confusion and reevaluation, a break in the case offers enough of a reprieve for the
investigation to deviate from the path of circumlocution. Personally, the most
profound component that peaks my interest in an investigative novel is the internal
strife within the protagonist that incites further confusion and conflicting ideas. The
significance of any imperfections within the lead character is that the

David Mamet is an American playwright born in 1947, having the additional titles
as an essayist, screenwriter, and film director. Mamet has written several plays,
including Speed the Plow, China Doll, The Shawl, and Faustus, and succeeded in a
movie adaptation of his play Glengarry Glen Ross in 1992. He grew up in Chicago,
Illinois until he relocated outside the city, living with his parents that later divorced
until he moved. His sister Lynn admitted their home life was cruel, influencing anger
to be present in Mamet s work (Editors). In relation to his work, other themes of his
work include: relationships (deception, loyalty, etc.), success and failure, and speech
mannerisms (persuasion and alike). Other attributes of Mamet s work include
intricate dialogue and characters with individualized mannerisms; for example:
Mamet believes that people speak what they are influenced by. Mamet was influence
most by Samuel Beckett, Harold Pinter, Lanford Wilson, and Bertolt Brecht,
beginning his unique use of dramatic language (Whatley 12).
As for his play American Buffalo, the following themes are present: business, loyalty,
friendship, and ethics. In 1972, the infamous Watergate Scandaloccurred; the
importance of this event can tie in with American Buffalo s creation. President
Nixon s time in office compelled him to resolve conflicts he deemed just, however
Americans lost their trust in Nixon after the Watergate Scandal happened. In the

Sedona Swanner History 1301 Mr. Spence November 10, 2015 The Era of Andrew
Jackson Andrew Jackson was the seventh president of the United States, elected in
eighteen twenty eight. Prior to his presidency Andrew Jackson was well known
and favored for his success against the British in the war of eighteen twelve. Upon
election, Andrew Jackson became known as the people s president gaining the
majority of electoral votes over his opponent John quincy Adams.Throughout his
presidency many events occurred that would shape America as a nation. During
his time as President Andrew Jackson was both favored and hated by many
individuals. His actions pleased certain groups of people, but would also cause for
a loss of support amongst Americans. Jackson s legacy would leave behind a strong
willed group of supporters, known as the Democrat party, and the creation of
opposed individuals known as the Whig party as well. His presidency would be
viewed as time of improvements to some, but to others who strongly opposed his
presidency, it would be seen as a time for unjust tariffs and conflict. Jackson s
presidency would be characterized by key events such as the Indian removal act, the
nullification crisis, and the dispute known as the war against the bank, that would
alter the nation forever. One of the many acts put into place during Andrew Jackson s
time as president includes the highly controversial Indian Removal Act. The Indian
removal act was signed and put into place by President
9. History Of The Gentle Revolution
Romanian Revolution One of the bloodiest revolutions began in the city of

the Christian practice of John Calvin) pastor somehow exploded into the nationwide
revolt that lasted nine days. In those nine days the revolt shoved Romania s
megalomaniacal ruling couple, Nicolae and Elena Ceausescu, in front of a firing

10. Analysis Of Mother Tongue By Amy Tan
Language is key in order to communicate vast complex Englishes we picked up
during our youth and benefited from it by broadcasting our ideas to speak amongst
our family, friends, and peers. Language is defined as, the method of human
communication, either spoken or written, consisting of the use of words in a
structured and conventional way, by Merriam Webster. From my perspective, I
believe that our languagecan convey our Englishes to speak with many types of
characters on certain types of situations. Knowing that we as humans, has a certain
adaptation of picking up things we hear, can be beneficial due to the fact, that we
use those components in order to communicate. In the article, Mother Tongue, by
Amy Tan, discusses a time, where she had to deal with learning three types of
Englishes from her mother which includes simple, broken and watered down
English. Having to deal many struggles and worrying about being criticized can be
agitating due to the fact, that she wanted to be seen as speaking and writing proper
academic English. But through thick and thin, Tan believes that the Englishes she
learned from her mother is very important and shouldn t be concealed with only them
two but, should be shown towards everyone reading her stories. Having a vast
amount of Englishes is great, however I specifically speak three types of English
which consist of Taglish, texting, and academic English.

The Guide To Life: The Book of Proverbs

Bible Project
The book that I studied was the Book of Proverbs. The book of Proverbs is part of
the Books of Wisdom in the Old Testament of The Bible. The books in the wisdom
section of The Bible (includes the book of Job, Psalms, Proverbs,Ecclesiastes, Song
of Songs, Book of Wisdom and Sirach) are meant to try and spread wisdom to the
reader and show the right way, or better ways to live your life in faith. The book of
Proverbs is made up of guides on how to live a faithful life, and how to deal with
different situations that you may come across in your life.
Proverbs is a collection of instructions and sayings composed into a book
(usccb.org, 2016). The Book of Proverbs is made up of both long and short guides
to life that have to deal with certain situations. These passages can range from a
length of seven verses to thirteen chapters. The situations that are written about are
very common in today s society. These situations that are written about in Proverbs
range from laziness to laughter. Proverbs includes two types of writings: long
instructions that are addressed to younger people and shorter sayings that are meant
for all ages. Parallelism, which is the state of being parallel to something, or
corresponding to something is very common in The Book of Proverbs. The book of
Proverbs stresses that faith is a matter of right
12. Descriptive Essay About The Forest
Ruby slipped into her red shoes. Her dress was blood red and was embellished with
rubies, complementing the shoes. Her pale skin was dusted with red glowing dust
and her lips were the color of apples, the hue little lighter than the dress. Her eyes
were pink, with a dark rim around the edges. She felt as if she couldn t breath,
although she could. She stepped into the bathroom, where Alice, her sister, was
standing in a beautiful blue dress, checkered black and white at the top. She had
little red hearts around the neckline. Her shoes matched the top, with checkered
leather knee high, noticable under the short dress. The heels were covered in
glittering red diamonds carved into elaborate hearts. The night of the ball was
warm, and everyone was down in the ballroom, awaiting our arrival. The royal

otherwise known as the Mid Forest. Ruby helped her sister rub on the blue dust,
matching her eyes and lips. Together they joined hands and stepped down to the
staircase of the ballroom. The entire room shared a gasp. They stepped down
gracefully, careful not to fall in their shoes. As they approached the bottom, a man
in a diamond suit and wavy red hair shoulder length came to kiss Ruby s hand, but
she shriveled away. She did not like these gestures, they were odd. Alice nodded
gratefully at her sister, who nodded back. They looked out for each other. Later on in
13. Nora Helmer
Nora Helmer in the play A Doll s House is a character who deceives more than one
character throughout the play. In the beginning she starts off as a wife who loves
the attention she gets from her husband, Torvald Helmer, and is spending money
before they have even earned it yet. She has a conversation with one of her friends,
Mrs. Linde, in act 1 where she is telling her all about her glamorous life with all the
things she possess. Later on in the play we learn that she has borrowed money
which leads to different problems. In the end, Nora ends up leaving Andy never
returns. In the beginning, Nora confesses to Mrs. Linde about her admirers when
she is visited by her. This is Nora s first deceptive action in the play. Nora tells
about the great deal of money she had came into to help Torvald with his sickness.
She leads Mrs. Linde many times into wondering about one specific admirer that may
have given her money. Just when Mrs. Linde guesses who the admirer might be, Nora
shuts the conversation down by denying that it s him. She continues to mislead Mrs
Linde with different admirers. We later find out that Nora... Show more content on

about the situation, however once Krogstad is confronted by Mrs. Linde she tells
him to expose Nora. Two letters are sent to the Helmer residence both addressed to
Torvald. He comes to learn about Nora s forgery and loses his mind and yells and is

Torvald, everything she bragged about, was taken from her because of her deceptive

15. The Woman Warrior No Name Woman Summary
In the first chapter of The Woman Warrior, No Name Woman, Kingston tells the story
her mother told her as a teenager about her aunt s untimely death. Throughout the
story, many remarks proving the empowerment of Chinese women are made. In the
middle of the story, Kingston s mother stops to say, Don t humiliate us. You wouldn t
like to be forgotten as if you had never been born (Kingston 5). This is seemingly
demeaning, but is actually empowering. It shows that while Chinese women are
thought to be disappointments to be forgotten, they also have to power to determine
whether or not everyone will remember their name. Brave Orchid s words reflect the
notion in Chinese society that a womanhas the power to accomplish anything; if she
doesn t want to be a humiliation, she won t be, and if she doesn t want to be

silent, unable to be shook by the terrors brought on by her never ending rape.
While this may seem meek and fearful, it is actually brave and powerful. Kingston
s aunt was an empowered woman, by not letting her rapist get to her, and by doing
as she was told, while continuing on normally in life. Most people would think that
by killing herself, she is actually not empowered. However, every action a person
takes does not have to be thought of as an empowered action for them to be
considered an empowered person. Sometimes, the most empowered people are the
ones that slip up from time to time, and are not afraid to show their vulnerability,
because it is human and normal. Kingston shows this same quality herself in the next
16. Music Throughout History
Throughout history people listened to music and used it for various different things.
In the earliest of times music was used to help emphasize story telling(Young 11). As
centuries went on music became more prominent in everyday things and eventually
was used for social occasions like festivals and weddings(Young 82). Today we use
musicfor everything from recreational to rehabilitating people. We use music to
express ourselves and say things we don t know how to say. Music is an outlet for
people now a days. What people don t realize is that music is basically a medicine.
It helps us rehabilitate people, calm them down, keep our bodies in rhythm, and it is
used to help people with disabilities function better in society. The only thing is is
that people don t know how to properly use music to help themselves and others. But
music is beneficial to people s health!
More than 5,000 musical therapists work in hospitals, schools, rehabs, nursing
homes, prisons, and at people s homes in the United States today and more than half
of them are working with the mentally ill, disabled, or the elderly(Campbell 126). As
early as the 19th and early 20th centuries Americans have been using music for
medicinal reasons(Campbell 121). In early 1899 James L. Corning conducted the first
controlled study using music to treat his patients(Campbell 122). Using the musical
styles of Wagner and other Romantic composers he concluded their styles helped
reduce the morbid thoughts of the patients and
17. Macbeth And Lady Macbeth
In Shakespearian times the woman had no powerful roles, they did not write or act
in plays. The roles were strictly played by men. Only men could have a high
positioned job, and could hunt and other masculine things. This was true, however, in
Macbeth written by William Shakespeare he portrays that both the men and the
women in the play craved and have powerful roles, and desire ambition. Additionally,
he shows how the roles of genderare flipped between Macbethand Lady Macbeth,
and displays that Lady Macbeth wants control over Macbeth. In the play Lady
Macbeth stands in for Macbeth s manliness throughout the text, and she was the
brain of all his decisions. She desired to manipulate his decisions so it would work
out in her favor, so she could have a higher position as queen. Although A Strange
Infirmary authored by Jenijoy La belle asserts that the actions of a women in that
time period were not looked at as manly actions, and women were incapable to
have such manly cravings due to their physical setbacks characteristics, and in The
Five Tragedies in Macbeth written by Miguel Bernad, he states that the roles of
gender flip and the characteristics of each gender can be in either characters, and he
shows the intense grip of Lady Macbeth s power over her husband. With these
sources you can see, manly qualities and strive for power is not something that is
held only within a physical man. Sex does not play a role for hunger for ambition.
However, in these times women

19. The Importance Of The African Slave Trade
What was the African slave trade like? Well, the slave trade in Africa was mostly
African peoples taking and enslaving other, sometimes rival, African peoples. The
newly enslaved people often separated from their families would then be taken and

left for the duration of the trip, surrounded by odious sights and smells. Slavery

In the late 19 th century, many new immigrants came to America with hopes to
escape religious and political persecution, to find better employment opportunities,
for more freedoms, and a chance to start over again. The immigrant work force
grew fast as the demand for factory labor grew. These immigrants were important to
industrialization in the United States. They were willing to work in unsanitary work
conditions for little pay. Because of this, American industries were able to hire more
of these types of workers. Although they were unskilled, the type of jobs they were

Workers during the Industrial Revolution had hoped for benefits, such as health,
cleaner working conditions, better pay, and less working hours. Industrial workers
often felt overworked because of the long, stressful hours placed upon them by their
employers. Labor unions began to emerge as a result of the long hours and awful
working conditions. These workers were locked up all day in factories that were
eight stories high. They were given absolutely no relaxation until the heavy engine
stopped. After leaving work, they would go home to get refreshed for the next day.
This left these industrial workers with no time for association with their families.
Before the time of industrialization, the United States was an agrarian society. Most
of the people were Protestant, English speaking, Anglo Saxons from Northern and

Reward System #1: Point System The point system is designed to help improve
classroom management and improve academic achievement. The point system allows
teachers to establish classroom management. Teachers should assign the appropriate
point rewards or penalties to fit how the teacher classroom should function to promote
an ideal student learning environment (Xenos, 2012). Academic achievement is
improved using the point system. Teachers can designate points for completing
homework, participating in class, and the grade achieved on a test. Students can
receive points for completing these activities in the classroom. A drawback of using
the point system is that the teacher must properly implement the system starting the
beginning of the school year. It is important that students clearly

Landfills are the third largest source of human related methane emissions in the
United States, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Biogas from landfills is also called landfill gas (LFG), as the digestion process
takes place in the ground rather than in an anaerobic digester. As of March 2015,
there were about 645 operational LFG projects in the United States, according to
EPA. However, most of these projects use biogas to produce electricity rather than
power natural gas vehicles.
Creative use of landfill gas (LFG) includes heating greenhouses, producing electricity
and heat in cogeneration applications, firing brick kilns, supplying high Btu pipeline
quality gas, fueling garbage trucks, and providing fuel to chemical and automobile
manufacturing. Projects range from small scale community driven initiatives to multi
million dollar private investments.

America Must Awake from the Nightmare of the Past to the Light of a New Day
Nostalgia is America s fatal disease. We love to go back, to talk of the good old
days, to wish we could return to an era forever gone. This rhetoric that warms our
hearts, though, is, ironically, the impetus for our national self destruction. Nostalgia
valorizes a past that never was, casts a dark shadow of distortion across the present,
and prevents us from projecting a viable, sincere vision of a better future. When
we, as a nation, say we want to go back to a time past, that s very often what
happens, for such talk sends us into a regressive downward spiral that prevents
critical social progress in America.
The American political scene is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To return to the past, you see, means so much more than the restoration of the family
and the Protestant work ethic. A lot of baggage lay beneath the gloss covered
surface of nostalgia driven value speak. Inherent within such nostalgia, whose shiny
surface makes it so difficult to resist, is a desire to inhibit radical movements for
social change in America, movements that have shattered the myth that things were
just fine the way they always have been. While this conservative value speak
professes to be on the side of the family and the American work ethic(who doesn t
believe in these?), its true political agendas lay in stunting the growth of movements
for change, liberation, and freedom for all peoples in this nation and everywhere.
Since the 1960 s, radical movements for social change in the United States have
sought to expose the fallacies behind the American way of life. As their efforts
have shown us, ours is not a nation where all peoples are free, where everyone gets
a fair chance and justice presides. In fact, though we as a nation believe firmly in the
principles of democracy, we have often failed miserably in making these principles a
reality. Social change has thus been about striving for freedom for all peoples in all
spheres of life_economic, political, culturally, educationally...the list goes on and on.
Behind all of this change is the understanding that, contrary to establishment beliefs,

But, all that has changed ever since he encountered the 3 ghosts.
Another reason is that when he was sent into the past by a specific type of ghost; he

Tiny Tim had no recovery whatsoever due to him being injured (mental state injured)
and didn t have the money; thus making him have no medical supplies.
Thus causes Scrooge to go into an depressive state and worries for the kids safety
despite him hating Christmas until the day ends, and which is sad.
This causes Scrooge to change for the greater good; as soon as he finishes the
encounters and time traveling with the 3 ghosts of Christmas, he then goes to dinner
with the family (I forgot their last names).
The final thing for this was that it was a greater change for Scrooge; because he was
in fact an harsh man until he encountered the good side of Christmas.
One more reason is his wife. His ex wife because that he had an past with her; he
only relied on money.
This made his wife call him changed and what not, which is very

From the beginning, Emilia can be seen as one who is entirely loyal and faithful to
her husband, Iago. Under the Cult of Domesticity it would be downright
unacceptable for a woman to defy her husband. Women were considered to be
subservient to almost the entire male gender. Emilia s husband, Iago, was a
character who most would admit did not deserve much respect or loyalty at all.
Iago would continuously use his wit and intelligence to manipulate others only to
further his own position in society. Iago, with a great lack of sympathy for those he
was hurting, focused solely on reaching his end goal of self glorification. Despite
Emilia s dissatisfaction with her marriage, she managed to maintain composure in
the beginning of the play. At one point in Act II, Iago makes a bold claim stating
that women, including Emilia, only speak their minds when the men are no longer
present. He believes they would not dare defy the rules of society in front of others.
However, in privacy, Iago surmises that these rules quickly vanish. Emilia then
proceeds to respond to the accusation in none other than a simple and respectful
manner (Shakespeare 2.1.115 124). Shakespeare introduced Emilia into his play as a
stock character, one who represents a common stereotype. Whether or not it is

The issue of time can never be overemphasized, to me, every human being is
unique, and so is with everything they do. Since we are the expert of our own
lives, how we experience and interpret time solely depends on us. That is to say, not
everyone on the planet sees the idea of time in the same way. I know that as there
are distinctive objective scales of physical time, there are diverse cultural scales of
subjective time. However, what is very common in every culture is that we tend to
see time in line that is we call things of yesterday or years ago things of the past and
things of tomorrow things in the future. Although the past, present or future has
different meanings to different peoples, but there is a preconceived notion that... Show

This short story talks about a book that is also called The Garden of Forking Paths.
Yu Tsun meets a man called Dr, Stephen Albert who showed him a letter written by
his grandfather, Tu si pen. Before this encounter, Yu Tsun reflects early in the story,
everything happens to a man precisely now. Century follows century, and things
happen only in the present (64). With this, Yu Tsun portrays time in a linear manner.
That is, people experience time as an issue of present minutes, one after the other.
When the minute is experienced, on the other hand, it no longer exists. Because of
this, the past is no more genuine than the future. Both exist no place but in the human
mind: the past fits in with the domain of memory, while the future has a place with
the domain of imagination.
Nevertheless, when Yu Tsun arrives at Dr. Stephen Albert s home, the notion of
time as linear is challenged. Albert explained to Yu Tsun that Ts ui Pen his ancestor
did not believe in a uniform, absolute time. He believed in an infinite series of
times, in a growing, dizzying net of divergent, convergent, and parallel times (69) .In
this development of time, all presents, pasts, and future exist at the same time.
Further, every choice an individual makes prompts diverse future. Tu si Pen made a
decision that led to several futures, and here is what he did; In all fiction, when a
man is faced with diverse alternatives, he picks one and eliminates the others, but, Ts

Whatever Holden judges, it is not written law. It is an unwritten law, the law of death
and evil. Judge Holden represents a demonic character, larger than life, with a cruel
soul.
The Imbecile, James Robert, exemplifies the Judge s god like power. Once the
Judge rescues James from drowning and after a sort of mock baptism, the once
wild man becomes docile and shadows the Judge s every movement. Judge Holden
leading the imbecile around on a leash is similar to a king being followed by his
fool. The imbecile is another creature the Judge controls by allowing to exist. One
reason he allows the imbecile to live, while killing so many others, may be as a way
to show his superiority to Glanton. While Glanton has a mere dog as a pet, the Judge
has an actual human as a pet.
Another example of Judge Holden s god like behavior occurs as he is pursuing the
Kid and Tobin. Throughout the novel, whenever the Judge set out to accomplish a
task, he succeeds. While the Kid is drinking water in the bone filled ravine, the
Judge shoots at the Kid and misses. The Judge is an excellent marksman and has a
clear shot. However, at this point, he allows the Kid to live. Instead of shooting to kill
, the Judge s shot serves as a way to control the Kid; to maintain his suzerainty over
the weakest member of the group.
Judge Holden controls through destruction and pure evil, only he perseveres and
triumphs, while others fail, including the Kid.

33. Moving Prostitution Through The United States
Moving Prostitution in the Right Direction in the United States
Abstract: This paper explores the world s oldest and most controversial occupation
and puts forth a foundational plan for legalizing and regulating sex work in a safe
way that satisfies both radical and liberal feminists ideals. To understand how
prostitution has evolved to where it s at today, this proposal travels through the history
of prostitution in the United States (heavily focusing on the twentieth century.)
Prostitutes were initially accepted and openly sought after. A shift in societal norms
and values placed sex work in a heavy degradation. The regulation of prostitution in
Nevada began in 1970 and resulted in the first licensed brothel in 1971. Fast forward
nearly fifty years and prostitution is outlawed in 49 out of 50 states. Vast amounts of
money are being spent annually in failed attempts to stop prostitution all together.
Radical feminists are those who would identify as conservative. They are against
prostitution on the belief that it victimizes and degrades women in poverty. Liberal
feminists strongly agree that the government has no place in a women s body and
that the right to perform sex work is human right. This paper analyzes these different
perspectives and incorporates a model that will resemble the current working
regulation in Nevada. Stricter stipulations such as health requirements and the legal
age should help influence radical feminist to expand their perspective and acceptance.

Many sport accidents occur as a result of activities taking place in unsafe or

therefore an important responsibility for any coach. Prior to the start of the season
the coach should ensure that the facility meets minimum safety standards and also

A coach should be also able to find appropriate competitions for participants and

participants wouldn t be put to their sporting limit and tested to see where they need
to improve to succeed. Also without planning to compete in competitions the
performers may become bored as they don t have a

has been posed, is China s One Child Policy a good or bad idea? After all of the
evidence that was gathered the One Child Policy in China is not a good idea but
does have some positive effects.
China s One Child Policy is not effective due to the gender imbalance and social
issues that it has caused. Document D reveals that the gender imbalance widened

According to Document F Xiao Xuan a 22 year old from Beijing says I used to cut
myself myself on my wrists after getting yelled at by my mom and my dad... This
is important because this shows that kids need other kids as someone to go to and
as someone for support, they would not be as depressed as Xiao Xuan was.
Document depicts what would happen if one were to break this policy. Depending
on where they live, couples can be fines thousands of dollars for having an ( extra)
child without a permit, and reports of forced abortion and sterilization are common...
That really affects someone as a mother knowing that they are taking away your
baby and killing it, that is just very disheartening. Document E also states that the
elderly are suffering too due to the gender imbalance. Analysts fear that with too
few children to care for them, China s elderly will suffer neglect. This means that
the gender imbalance is not just a social issue it also affects the lives of certain
people. Finally Document D shows that women are being used for their sex
appeal. Indeed, some of the hottest best paying jobs in today s globalizing social
service economy ( bilingual secretaries, public relations, fashion models) are open
exclusively to young women with good looks and sex appeal... This means that
women are being used for their looks and not their skills which is not very

40. Julian Postage Stamp
Why Doesn t Percy L. Julian have a Stamp Already?
I strongly believe that Percy L. Julian deserves a United States postage stamp. He
was quite intelligent, educated, and hard working, and helpful chemist. He was the
first black chemist elected to the National Academy of the Sciences. This is one of
the reasons I strongly believe he deserves a United States postage stamp. Julian never
had a chance at a completely normal education but he became a very smart individual.
When Julian had finished the eighth grade he couldn t go to high school because at
that time there were no high schools open to black students. Instead, he went to
Depauw University. When he went to the University he needed to also take high
school level classes
41. John Donne s Poetry
John Donne is in fact a pioneer in the poetic wit of love; he has paved the way for
many metaphysical poets after him. His style of writing, although immediately
recognizable, formed to the events unfolding around him. His work covers his early
years of sensuality, where he produced explicit sexual poetry, along with his later
years of religious study, where he wrote explicit religious poetry, a lot of which are
hard to tell apart. Because none of Donne s poetry was published while he was
living, it is difficult for us to date it accurately, but we can assume that he wrote his
more sensual poetry before he went to work with the church. He changed the way
most poets of the 16th and 17th centuries wrote and had a large impact on the poets

In A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning,
Donne compares two lovers to the points on a compass. This is surprising because
Donne was not using the conventional Petrarchan conceit to make comparisons like
his colleagues. A metaphysical conceit requires a more introspective way of
reasoning to understand the speaker s emotions. Many were shocked over how
Donne transformed the conceit, failing then to see that his use of the metaphysical
conceit offered new insight into his poems and lyrics.
Another way Donne differs from his fellow Renaissance poets is with the use of a
present listener. Donne writes directly to whom the poem was written for, while
the other poets of his day; mostly write their poems without directing it towards a
specific listener. His poems have very few large descriptive passages like the one s
used in the works of Edmund Spenser. Donne s poetry also doesn t have the smooth,
poetic flow that the other Renaissance poets had. Donne has done away with the
poetic flow and instead opted to use a speaking voice, whose syntax can easily show
the intensity of Donne s

Abstract: Sodium chloride is widely used in various industrial, medical and food
applications that increasing human exposure to it by excessive amount. However,
almost all studies focused on its nephrotoxicity and adaptation of kidney cells to high
concentration salt and only few scientific attentions were concerned on its cytoxicity.
Hence, the oxidative DNA damage induction by excessive salt intake in mice was
investigated. mice were orally administrated with three different concentrations
commercial NaCl solution started with concentration at tap water. Second and
third concentrations were (50 100mg/L) orally administrated for 10 successive
days then sacrificed 24 hour after the last orally administrated. Comet assays were
used to evaluate the possible toxicity of excessive salt on DNA levels. Also, some
biochemical markers of kidney were assessed to shed more light on salt mechanism
of action. DNA damage induction by excessive intake of high salt was evidenced by
the statistical significant elevations in both two group. This was further evidenced
by appearance damage of DNA on agarose gel. Moreover, excessive NaCl caused
significant elevation in kidney function level in a dose dependent manner. It was also
noticed that

46. Knowledge Management as an Organizational Tool Essay
Knowledge Management is a tool that uses internet technologies to put large
amounts of data online using a company s intranet. This set up creates a central
depository of a company s information. This gives all employees within a company
access to the vast wealth of knowledge a company has created. This knowledge can
consist of many different types of information. Some examples are client knowledge,
knowledge of process, knowledge in the memory of the firm, knowledge from
relationships, and physical knowledge (Knowledge Management, 2007, February). A
company can use this information for many purposes. The knowledge can be used for
consistency, authority, empowerment, a single source of truth, or storage clarity
(Musico, C. 2012,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another important goal is authority; this makes sure subject matter experts truly have
the final word on the documents they generate (Musico, C. 2012, January). Creating a
single source of truth is important because this allows access to the company s
knowledge from a single source. A knowledge Management system also creates an
ease of collaboration. This collaboration means that employees don t let traditional
organizational and geographical barriers stem the tide of seamless teamwork to
complete complex project. Next, empowerment means more people are compelled to
contribute their thoughts, ideas, and content to help further organizational goals
(Musico, C. 2012, January). Finally, storage clarity means a definitive guidance as to
where exactly particular content should be located (Musico, C. 2012, January). Each
of these goals is important and a great knowledge management system satisfies each
of these goals. Another part of knowledge management is knowing the benefits.
These benefits include but are not limited to: improved productivity, increased agility,
advancing operational effectiveness, Enhancing innovation, and product
development. Each of the benefits listed either save money, time, or both. Any
system that allows a company to save time and money is beneficial. Two examples
of knowledge management are the Xerox Rapper Project, and Microsoft Sharepoint.

American Literature

The Naturalists of American Literature Henry David Thoreau tests the ideas of
Ralph Waldo Emerson by living at a place known as Walden Pond. Here at Walden
Pond, Thoreau discovers that in a physical aspect, nature brings a deepness into our
minds and into our souls. One s imagination is uplifted, and this changes a person s
entire perspective of life. Both Thoreau and Emerson believed that nature forces
people to not have to depend on others ideas. People are able to develop their own
ideas in a more simplistic way. Nature s ever changing way continues the search for
new explanations of human life.

Here Emerson explains how people take from what their ancestors and others
before them have said and do not think twice about trying new things for
themselves. Emerson decides not to conform to the modern way of society, but
instead to be an individual and find things out for himself. Thoreau takes this idea
of life and puts it to test at Walden Pond where he lives alone almost completely off
of the land. Thoreau had almost no resources from the civilized world and hardly
ever communicated with anyone but nature itself. Thoreau s idea at Walden Pond
was for him to become more in tune with the natural world and to be able to create
the literature that is known in the world today. In Emerson s work Nature,
Emerson believes that by being in a simple environment, a person is able to see
things more in depth and in a more complex way. Emerson states, Standing on the
bare ground my head bathed by the blithe air and uplifted into space all mean
egotism vanishes. I become a transparent eyeball; I am nothing; I see all; the
currents of the universal being circulate through me; I am part or particle of god
(1827 1828). Emerson s thoughts are deeper, and his mind is open to any ideas that
nature may bring his way.
When simplicity of character and the sovereignty of ideas is broken up by the
prevalence of secondary desires, the desires of riches, of pleasure, of power, and of
praise, and
48. What Are The Factors That Affect Academic Achievement
Many people wonder about the factors that play a vital role in the Academic
Achievement of a Person, come to think of it there are quite a few factors that are
essential for an academically successful life, they can be Parental Influence, Student
motivation, Peer Effect, the geographical location or health, all of the above
mentioned factors can be crucial in a studentacademic life, but we may say that
Parental Influence and Student Motivationare the most important ones. Adolescence
is the time in which a child is going through the period of growth, this is the time
when parental influence is all that matters because whatever the child sees or hears is
going to shape his way of thinking, continuous support from parents play a pivotal
role in academic achievement. Student Motivation can be categorized as the second
most important factor in the academic achievement of a child, without motivation no
one has ever been able to do anything that really matters because motivation in a
person arises when the person really wants to do something to achieve something that
matters, be excellent in academics. Let s talk about the influence of parents on the
academic achievement of a child. Come to think of it parents can either provide the
child with a positive influence or a negative influence, it solely depends on the
parents. Some studies show that students spend a small portion of time in schools,
while there may be no doubt that school is the most important provider
49. francis of assisi Essay
Francis of Assisi was a poor man who astounded and inspired the Church by taking
the gospel literally not in a narrow fundamentalist sense, but by actually following
all that Jesus said and did, joyfully, without limit and without a mite of self
importance. Francis was famous for his love of all creation. He called for simplicity
of life, poverty, and humility before God. He worked to care for the poor. Thousands
were drawn to his sincerity, piety, and joy. In all his actions, Francis sought to follow
fully and literally the way of lifedemonstrated by Christ in the Gospels. My report is
going to discuss the life and contributions of St. Francisof Assisi.

He got his first chance when Assisi declared war on their longtime enemy, the
nearby town of Perugia. When Francis was just barely twenty years old, he fought
in the war between Assisi and Perugia and was taken prisoner. Most of the troops
from Assisi were butchered in the fight. Only those wealthy enough to expect to be
ransomed were taken prisoner. At last Francis was among the nobility like he
always wanted to be, but chained in a harsh, dark dungeon. All accounts say that
he never lost his happy manner in that horrible place. Finally, after a year in the
dungeon, he was ransomed. Strangely, the experience didn t seem to change him.
He gave himself to partying with as much joy and abandon as he had before the
battle. That period shaped the young man s soul and the weaker his body became,
the more deeply his sense of charity and love towards others took root in him. By
the time he returned to Assisi, he was seriously ill. His mother s loving care and
time itself brought him back to health, but the carefree life he had led before and
which had started again by now, seemed empty to him. Driven by his dreams of
being a soldier, he decided to follow a condottiere to the southern region of Apulia,
but when he had gotten as far as Spoleto, the Lord appeared to him one night in a
dream and ordered him to turn back. The words of God echoed in his mind like a
summons. This marked the beginning of his gradual

51. How To Stop Frisking
Stop and frisking is where officers are able to come up to you if they have
reasonable suspicion of someone that might be hiding something illegal. There are
no set parameters that have to be made for them to stop someone, allowing them to
go up to anyone, anywhere, at any time and search them for illegal drugs and drug
paraphernalia along with unregistered guns. When reasonable suspicion is brought
into this it just makes it all a mess. Even though there are specific things that
someone need to meet to be frisked most of the time it is up to the officers
discretion. Making it a big problem because if the officer does not have a body
camera that is on when approaching the suspect, they can say that they met what was
needed to search them. This can be a problem because the policecan either knowingly
or unknowingly be racially profiling people. People get nervous for no reason, afraid
that the police will target them or harass them for nothing. This is something that is a
concern for the community, causing a loss in trust and a concern about the
legitimacy of what the police are doing. Another... Show more content on
