1. Reflection Essays In Nursing
Writing an essay on the topic of "Reflection Essays in Nursing" can be both challenging and
rewarding. On one hand, it requires a deep understanding of the nursing profession and the
ability to critically reflect on personal experiences and growth. On the other hand, articulating
these reflections in a coherent and impactful manner poses its own set of challenges.
To begin with, crafting a reflection essay in nursing involves revisiting past experiences in
clinical settings, considering the emotions and challenges faced, and analyzing how these
experiences have contributed to personal and professional development. It requires self-
awareness, the ability to identify strengths and weaknesses, and an honest evaluation of the
impact these experiences have had on one's practice.
Furthermore, the essay must not merely recount events but delve into the underlying lessons
learned, ethical dilemmas encountered, and the application of theoretical knowledge in real-
world scenarios. Balancing the personal and professional aspects of the reflection is crucial, as
it's not only about sharing personal feelings but also demonstrating growth as a healthcare
professional.
Moreover, the reflective essay demands effective communication skills to convey thoughts
clearly and concisely. It requires the integration of relevant nursing theories and concepts to
provide a solid academic foundation for the reflections. This academic aspect adds complexity
to the writing process, as one needs to bridge the gap between personal experiences and
theoretical frameworks.
In conclusion, while writing a reflection essay in nursing is a challenging task, it serves as a
valuable opportunity for self-discovery and professional development. It requires introspection,
critical thinking, and the ability to communicate effectively. Successfully navigating these
challenges results in a well-rounded essay that not only meets academic standards but also
contributes to the ongoing learning process in the field of nursing.

2. Essay on Resilience Concept Analysis
Introduction Concepts are the building blocks from which theories are constructed.
A concept analysis will clarify the meaning of a concept and help us understand the
current theoretical and operational definitions of the concept for use in theory and
research (Walker Avant, 2005). The concept resilience was chosen for analysis
because of its many uses in the literature today, and the need of a central,
encompassing, modernized definition. In wake of the recent tragedies that have
been occurring, resilience has become more widely used and its definition has been
stretched. If this concept is to be used in its entirety, a centralized definition will
need to be developed and a consensus on the defining attributes will need to be
proposed.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were key factors, or protective factors, instilled in them as young children
that helped them follow their family values and traditions and be resilient to the
suggestions and change. Another study by O Rouke (2004) described resilience in
the widowed population. Those that had a commitment to life and satisfaction with
life showed the most resilience and ability to rebound after their spouse had died.
Those that had increased psychiatric distress showed the least resilience and ability
to carry on with life. Upon review of the different uses of resilience, there were key
identifiers present in all the definitions and are referred to as the defining attributes.
Synthesis of the literature The purpose of this analysis was to gather information
from previous investigations on resilience from a variety of fields, synthesize the
findings, and identify the critical attributes common to all. Then, filter through those
attributes to find those distinct to an individual s resilience and were necessary for
resilience to take place. A landmark study was initiated in 1955 on the island of
Kauai, Hawaii following the lives of 698 children whom lived in poverty and were
susceptible to disabilities. The researchers focused on the factors that were predictive
of vulnerability and invulnerability. They found invulnerable youth had fewer
separations from their caretakers, were given sufficient attention, grew up in homes

3. The Construction Of 1km Tall Kingdom Tower Of Jeddah,...
Executive Summary
Skyscrapers are continuously increasing in height as new technologies provide
solutions to unique problems that arise as a building grows. Technological
advances have given rise to categories of towers such as super talls (defined as
buildings of over 300 metres) and mega talls (over 600 metres). The tallest building
currently is the Burj Khalifa at 829.8m (Schmidt, 2013) however this will not be the
case for long, as the construction of 1km tall Kingdom Tower in Jeddah, Saudi
Arabia, is already underway.
With the world s natural resources in extremely short supply, it is of incredibly high
importance that we use them in the most efficient way possible, therefore significant
consideration must be given to how we use them, whether this be for huge towers or
otherwise.
On top of the issue above, there is an annual increase in population of nearly
76,000,000 (Worldometers.info, 2016) and the world s urban population is also on
the increase; expected to be at 70% of the planet s population by 2050 (Berg, 2016).
The next milestone height to be reached by a building is one mile. It is suggested
the we certainly could build as high as this (Berg, 2016), but whether we should is a
bit more difficult to answer.
In this report, I aim to assess the benefits, drawbacks and design considerations of
these enormous structures before providing an opinion on whether I believe they
should or should not be built.

Faulkner s Condemnation of the South in Absalom, Absalom
William Faulkner came from an old, proud, and distinguished
Mississippi family, which included a governor, a colonel in the Confederate
army, and notable business pioneers. Through his experiences from growing up in the
old South, Faulkner
has been able to express the values of the South through his characters.
William Faulkner s Absalom, Absalom offers a strong condemnation of the
mores and morals of the South.
Faulkner s strong condemnation of the values of the South emanates
from the actual story of the Sutpen family whose history must be seen as
connected to the history of the South (Bloom 74). Quentin tells this ... Show more

To fulfill his quest, Sutpen
spends his entire life trying to repeat the past only to correct it (Bloom
38). He has a grand design to be the son who seized the power of his
father and then be the father to keep that same power from being seized by
his own son (Searle 23).
The first step of Sutpen s design includes marrying Eulalia Bon and
having a pure white son named Charles Bon. When Thomas Sutpen realizes
that Charles is partially Negro because of Eulalia s heritage, he rejects
them both and is forced to start his design over. This is Faulkner s way
of condemning racism in the South. Thomas Sutpen later marries Ellen
Coldfield and has a second son named Henry and a daughter named Judith.
Thomas Sutpen s design is nearly complete when Charles shows up from his
5. first marriage and falls in love with Judith, nearly uniting the two
families. This incestuous relationship causes Henry Sutpen to kill Charles
Bon to save his family from miscegenation. Using incest in this novel is
another way that Faulkner condemns the mores and morals of the South.
Thomas Sutpen tries two more times to fulfill his design by trying
to have a pure white son and refusing to let that son seize the power that
he had successfully seized from his father.
6. Concept Of Gross Domestic Product
Introduction and explanation of structure of paper
The concept of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), is the measured value of the
output, which is currently produced in the domestic economy. This gives a view of
the economic wellbeing for the country, it does not however give a deeper insight
into the true wellbeing of the citizens within the country. This essay will go over the,
definition of GDP, Real versus Nominal GDP, Three ways to calculate GDP, Four
components of GDP, types of money transactions not included in GDP and aspects of
the standard of living that not addressed in the calculation of GDP.

Second is Investment (I), Investment being important because it has to deal with the
infrastructure of a country, state or city the GDP is being calculated for. Investment
takes into consideration, construction this includes residential, commercial and
industrial. Another component of investment is equipment, this is supplemental to
construction. The last component of investment is Inventory. Inventory, this being
the amount of goods or services left in reserve and have not been used yet.
Third is Government Spending on goods and services (G), this is culmination of
spending by the government that includes the total expenditures on good and services
by the federal government or state and local government.
Lastly in the calculation of GDP is the Net Exports (X M), goods and services that
are shipped or sold overseas are exports. Imports are the goods or services that are
brought into the country from overseas. When calculating the Net Exports, the
exports for a given year are subtracted by the Imports for a given year, giving the net
exports.
Three types of money transactions not included in GDP Transaction that are not

7. Swot Analysis Of Dillard s
There are many retail giants that have had an active presence on the market for
sometime. A few that come to mind are JCPenny, Macy s and Nordstorm s.
However, one major retail chain that has spread across the country was started
right here in the state of Arkansas. Dillard s first department store was opened in
1938 in Nashville, Arkansas by its founder William Dillard. Since its inauguration,
Dillard s has turned into one of the more prominent retailers in the United States.
With an ever growing market base and clientele, Dillard s has seen successful since
the early 1950s. This success, however, leaves people with a few questions about
the Arkansas native retail giant. What does Dillard s current market look like? How
does Dillard s compare... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once again Dillard s finds itself shrinking in comparison on sheer market size.
Compared to Dillard s 300 stores in 29 states, JCPenny has over 1,000 locations
across the United States and in Puerto Rico. This provides much contest for Dillard
s as JCPenny is a store often seen across the mall from them. With so many stores
across the nation Dillard s was able to keep it close in the gross income
department. JCPenny only reported a gross income of 4.0 billion dollars in 2015,
compared to Dillard s 2.15 billion dollars. This boasts well for Dillard s and the
quality of their merchandise. Retail conglomeration s have been extremely
influential since the early 20th century and Dillard s is no different. From their
small beginnings in Nashville, Arkansas to their impressive influence in 29 states
across the union, Dillard s has become a mainstay of quality retail. Even when they
are outnumbered by the competition, Dillard s seems to be able to hold their own.
This would me Mr. William Dillard proud and does him great honor in continuing his
8. Economics Of Corporate Finance Theory
Economics of Corporate Finance
Capital Asset Pricing Model is the foundation stone of modern finance theory. It
reveals the basic operation rules of the capital market and it is important in market
practice and theory research(). By use of this model, the relation between risk and
expected return is accurately predicted, and provides a method to estimate the yield
of potential investment projects and help us to predict the expected rate of return of
market in future. Although the Capital Asset Pricing Modelis not entirely consistent
with the empirical test, however, because of the simplicity of the model, it is still
widely used. A model may have highly realistic assumptions, but if it has no
predictive power, it is largely worthless. Most researchers have attempted to test the
CAPM to see if it works, looking at the relationship between observed beta values
and average returns(). One phenomenon is that the actual slope of the Security
Market Line is slightly less than the predicted slope of the CAPM. This essay is
going to discuss potential explanations of this phenomenon.
Most researchers test the CAPM by the basis of risk premiums , and the model is:
E[R_i ]= r_f+ОІ_i (E[R_Mkt ] r_f), then it minus the risk free return from both side
and add an intercept term О± into this model, the intercept term should be zero, we
can see new equation: E[R_i ] r_f= О±+ОІ_i (E[R_Mkt ] r_f). In this model, the beta
is used to measure the systematic risk between investment and stock
9. What Is Pecking Order Theory
Pecking order theory
Effective financial management and what characters affect their capital structure are
important for a firm to obtain better operational performance. A false decision about
the capital structure may lead to financial distress and even to bankruptcy. There are
numerous theories developed to analyze alternative capital structures. Among all
these theories, the static trade off theory which derived by Modigliani and Miller
(1963) was the earliest and most recognized which explains the formulation of capital
structure. Their trade off theory assumed that there are optimal capital structures by
trading off the benefits and cost of debt and equity. The main benefit of debt is tax
deductibility of interest and the costs are bankruptcy ... Show more content on

The pecking order theory stems from Myers (1984) who in turn was influenced by
the earlier institutional literature including the book by Donaldson (1961). Myers
(1984) argues that adverse selection implies that retained earnings are better than
debt and debt is better than equity. This ranking was motivated with reference to the
Myers and Majluf s (1984) adverse selection model. The ordering, however, stems
from a variety of sources including agency conflicts and taxes.
Pecking order theory also referred to as information asymmetry theory was proposed
by Ross (1996), Fama French (2004) suggests that firms prefer to finance new
investments, first internally with retained earnings, then with debt and finally with
the issue of new equity. The pecking order theory is based on two assumptions:
Firstly, according to informational asymmetry, managers are better informed about
their own firms prospect than are outside investors. So, when they decide to issue
new equity to finance new projects it is almost invariably taken by outside
investors as a signal that the firm s prospects, as seen by management, are not good
and that the said issue is therefore overvalued and therefore causes the firm s share
price to fall (Ross,
10. The Problem Of Smoking
The smoking problem has become quite prevalent in our society. Several governments
have had problems dealing with a huge health care burden due to diseases and
conditions brought about by smoking. At the same time, individuals suffer several
addictive and health issues due to smoking. While this information may be apparent
to most of the smokers, studies have found that quitting a smokinghabit is quite a
challenge. The reason behind such challenge is attributed to Nicotine. Nicotine is an
addictive substance naturally occurring in Tobacco. Nicotine, just like any other
addictive substance creates a new feeling to the user. It creates feeling associated with
drug such as cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine. It gives the users the perception
that they are managing feelings of depression, anxiety, fear and loneliness. However,
just as other drugs, the additive extent of nicotine is quite wide. Nicotine users tend to
develop a high physical dependence on nicotine to a point that normal physical
functionality is inhibited without smoking. Either, emotional and mental dependence
on nicotine is expected and in the end, a nicotine user becomes fully hinged to
smoking. Therefore, an attempt to stop quit is usually a difficult undertaking due to
the emotional, mental and physical attachment to the nicotine. This paper will
provide a step by step process that would assist a smoker to quit.
Step I: Decision
The first step in quitting smoking is by making a vital decision that there

women good motivation to fight for their suffrage. President Wilson believed that
the women were a vital part of the war effort. For the womens effort to help the war

governments. It references a global economy built on free trade and the use of
foreign labor markets to capitalize on revenue, along with the movement of people,

The past few years have been highlighted by terrorist attacks, war, and humanitarian
disasters, making the need for international cooperation ever increasing. Political
globalization s classic example is the United Nations, which was incepted to maintain
world peace and foster an environment of cooperation between nations, in order to
solve economic, cultural, and humanitarian issues. The Universal Declaration of
Human Rights for example is regarded as, A milestone document in the history of
human rights, according to the United Nations. It ensures the rights to life, liberty,
and education, and proclaims that, No one shall be held in slavery or servitude. But
what happens when members of the UN General Assembly violate these
declarations? What happens when the United Nations turns a blind eye to genocide,
torture, and mass exodus? The Holocaust, for example, was largely ignored by the
international community for much of the Second World War. Western nations even
denied fleeing Jews entrance into their countries. As the War came to an end and the
dust settled, the international community turned its attention to Nazi Germany s
human rights violations, and the United Nations vowed, Never again. That promise
was an empty one, as genocides would erupt in Rwanda, Kosovo, Bosnia, and Syria.
Syria, in particular, is the most immediate case of the

Catastrophic events such as war tear down nations, cities and families in an
unimaginable fashion while also causing sorrow, suffering and misery throughout its
course. In A.S. Byatt s short story, The Thing in the Forest, we can get a feeling of
the crisis people were going through in England during WorldWar2. The story begins
with two little girls being evacuated to a safe and distant city during the Blitz in
England. The two little girl s have no clue to where they are being sent and know
nothing about each other. One of the girl s name is Penny, who is described as tall,
thin and dark and appears to be the older one and the second girl Primrose, is
depicted as plump, blond and curly. The girls later become friends and start
discussing where they are being taken to and whether if it s a holiday or a
punishment as depicted in the story, Both had the idea that these were all perhaps
not very good children, possibly being sent away for that reason. They were pleased
to be able to define each other as nice . They would stick together they agreed (Byatt

14. The Effects Of Weather On Our Daily Lives
There are hazards all around us in our daily lives. Just to name a few, there are three
issues that come to mind. These three are distracted driving, hazardous waste, and
extreme weather. The less severe of these three would be extreme weather. Even
though one would think that this issue would be very severe, but with this issue only
happening a small percentage of the time, I consider it the lesser of the three issues.
The second issue, which is more severe than the weather, would be hazardous waste.

Waste that is considered hazardous has properties that make it dangerous or harmful
to people and/or the environment.
There are many sources that produce hazardous waste. Ranging from industrial
processing waste to batteries. I can come in many forms such as liquids, solids,
gases, or sludges. Now for waste to be considered hazardous, the waste has to be in a
solid form first. There are two steps to identifying waste as hazardous. The first
step in determining a material as a solid waste is to identify it. The second is to
examine the waste to see whether it is excluded as a solid or hazardous waste by
regulations. (Learn the Basics of Hazardous Waste/ USEPA. Web. 3 April 2017)
Once the waste is determined by a generator that it is in facts by definition a solid. It
is then investigated to see whether the solid waste is a listed or characteristic hazard.

EPA must regulate hazardous waste disposal in the United States. (Hazardous Waste

16. Chinese Culture And Western Culture In Child Rearing
Introduction
Culture is a set of values that are ingrained in human beings from birth. They define
our actions, our view of what is good, fair, and just, and shape the way we live our
lives. The definition of cross cultural values and beliefs is that of where people from
different countries or regions interact, bringing their different values, viewpoints, and
practices unique to their culture (Dictionary, 2017). In this literature review, we will
analyze the differences between Chinese and Western culture in child rearing, with a
focus on the impact of cultural values on parents and/or teachers socialization efforts,
how children accommodate or resist those socialization efforts, and finally, we will
discuss the implications for parents and teachers.
Socializing behavior is defined as behavior enacted towards children, or in the
presence of children, to induce or shape their behavior or understanding of behavior
(LeCuyer Zhang, 2015).
The impact of cultural values on parents and/or teachers socialization efforts
The Chinese culture is known for its collectivism with focus on group success over
personal success, and hierarchal authority where children are expected to obey
parents, teachers, and other authorities in power. This style is characterized by
attempts to shape and control the child according to absolute standards, with a high
value of obedience to authoritative figures (Lieber, Fung, Wing Leung Leung, 2006).
Chinese people, in general, are more willing to

INTRODUCTION This paper focuses on 3 current trends occurring in the
Australian labour market, analysing their causes and effects. The chosen trends are
structural unemployment, gender pay gap and skill shortage. The main causes of
the first trend are increase demand for services and technological change, which
have led us into a new era where highly skilled labour force is needed to operate
more complex machineries and computer systems. The rapid technological change
has caused structural unemployment, with workers willing to work but cannot
because of their lack of required skills. The second trend, gender pay gap, illustrates
how wide the pay gap between males and females is until today. The main causes of
this current direction... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Structural unemployment has been attributed to the high incidence of long term
unemployment, which leaves many lacking the skills needed to reenter the
workforce. Furthermore, structural inefficiencies in the labour market originated
by long term unemployment, which weakens job capabilities, job search success
and job preparedness (Lewis, 2006). One of the effects of structural unemployment
is work intensification. The few people qualified for the job are overloaded with
work, being forced to work longer hours in the attempt on meeting companies
targets. Almost 13 of full time employees work routinely more than 48 hours per
week, and 13 of these work frequently more than 60 hours per week (Peetz et al,
2003). According to the OECD report, Australia has the most substantial
percentage of workers operating long hours in the OECD and it is now the 2nd
longest working time nation in the advanced world (OECD report, 2012). On the
other hand, 1 in 7 workers is underemployed: that means, they are employed for less
hours than they want, and 14 of these have a part time job because they cannot
find full time work, limited by their scarcity or mis match of skills (Wilkins, 2007).
Moreover, Australia has one of the biggest percentage of underemployment among
developed countries as well as a remarkable amount of long term redundancy (OECD
report, 2012). TREND 2: GENDER PAY GAP Although in Australia there is in place

18. Class Conflict In The Communist Manifesto
The Communist Manifesto is strongly influenced by the history of class struggle
and social differences throughout history. Marx said that history is only a timeline
of class struggle, set apart from the change in style of production. The book is about
the conflict between the Proletariat and the Bourgeois, the troubled and the bully.
However, this is not a new idea and Marx is really not all that radical. Aristotle
wrote, Those who have too much of the goods of fortune, strength, wealth, friends
and the like, are neither willing nor able to submit to authority. On the other hand,
the very poor, who are in the opposite extreme, are too damaged. As Marx says in the
book, modern history is the demonstration of centuries of a system that was and still

It is a time period marked by a hierarchy of ranks and sub ranks. These positions

wealthy member of the nobility was the standard. The very difference of classes
was what the wealthy had; what they wore, where they lived, and how they lived.
The countryside was marked by sets of independent villages with the noble s manor

4. Dodge Dakota Introduced in 1986, the Dodge Dakota had a 25 year run, then
canceled. The Dakota was a trendsetting model for its time as it was the first midsize
pickup truck. Its larger size signaled the start of a movement whereby manufacturers
replaced small trucks with larger models, such as the Toyota Tacoma and Nissan
Frontier.
A Ram Dakota would be the logical complement to the Ram 1500, and enable Fiat
Chrysler to match Chevrolet, Toyota, GMC, Nissan, and soon Ford with an effective
1 2 pickup punch. We think a Dakota outfitted with the available Ram Box storage
management system and an optional diesel engine would make such a model a hit if
it returned.

20. The Writing Style Of The Term- Harold And Maude By
Colin...
Best Book of the Term Harold Maude
Have you ever read a book that has changed your life? A book that leaves you
feeling motivated and enlightened. Harold and Maude by Colin Higgins does just
that. This book is not simply a quirky love story between two unlikely individuals,
but about the power of optimism and a unique way of living life, a true inspiration.
However, besides the storyline, the writing style of the author has a huge impact in
setting the book apart. When considering why the book Harold and Maude is the best
book of the term the fundamentals of the writing style have to be taken into account
from the points of view to the ending which, all play a crucial role in making the
reading experience memorable. First is the use of the third person omniscient point
of view. According to the text, in the third person omniscient point of view, a
narrator from outside the story world tells the story. (WEAL, 45) The advantage of
this style is the reader gets a unique perspective of getting to hear the characters
thoughts. For example, ...she listened to the Chopin playing softly. How soothing,
she thought... (Higgins, 2) Here the reader can comprehend the character s, state of
mind as she enjoys the music playing in the background. Unlike in the book World
War Z by Max Brooks where the author has used the epistolary style using the first
person point of view that, reveals action through letters. (WEAL, 46) The
disadvantage of this writing style is the reader
21. Greed In The Poem Hotel California
In the lyric poem Hotel California by The Eagles, the speaker tells the story of a
man succumbing to greed and self temptation and how he is forever trapped by
that greed in a place that is impossible to leave and go back to where he was before.
The poem uses the poetic device of symbolism by using the hotel as a place where
one goes when trapped by their greed. Once the man has experienced what he
wants, he is trapped in a place he cannot leave, shown as a hotel that is impossible to
leave in the poem. He begins conflicted about being greedy, ends up enjoying it, but
then figures out he s trapped forever by it.
The poem begins by telling the story of the man riding down a road when he sees a
light in the distance. He sees a girl standing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

They stab it with their steely knives, But they just can t kill the beast, (The Eagles
stanza 4, lines 6 and 7). The speaker notes that succumbing to greed is our own
fault and that we trap ourselves in our greed. We are all just prisoners here, of our
own device, (The Eagles stanza 4, line 3). The second to last stanza of the poem
describes the man trying to escape of his greed. It says he is running for the door,
trying to get back to the place he was before. He has realized how badly his greed
has ruined his life and tries to go back to being the normal man he was previously.
But once people have experienced greediness and what they wanted, it is
impossible to get out of the trap they buried themselves in. The poem states that
...You can check out any time you like, But you can never leave! (The Eagles stanza
5, lines 7 and 8). It is impossible to leave the place your greed has trapped you
22. Baptism In The Godfather
Using only the Wedding scene and the Baptism scene which both serves to tie the
films ends up you can infer a great deal on the basic themes of The Godfather.
Francis Ford Coppola has said that the film was a metaphor for business in America,
and certainly, the word was used consistently throughout the entirety of the film,
generally by the Corleone family, they were doing business. Each of the capping
scenes had broader metaphors for the movie, but instilled and enforced transitions of
power. The Wedding was a stunning event: lots of panning and broad shots, with
occasional cutting to show either the GodfatherVito Corleone(portrayed by Marlon
Brando) either granting a request, or enjoying the festivities, merely wasting... Show

The film overall got business done, without complete collapse because its transitions
were handled, somewhat ruthlessly, but befitting for the nature of their business.
The ways in which scenes were shot were dramatically lit, bright and summery in
the beginning, while somber and very gaunt (in a way) towards the end. Along with
the score, which swelled at times, then was delicate and trying, setting a tone and
pace for most of the film, while crescendoing in the very beginning and the end of
the film, was the transitions of power were complete/reinforced/and cemented. The
film can also be seen as a character study for not only the evolution of business in
America, greed, and the various natures that all takes. But a character study for the
evolution of Michael Corleone (Al Pacino), whom in the beginning is young,
handsome, kind natured and relatively open emotionally, contrasting toward the end
where his hair is slicked back, he is wearing a suit instead of either his military
23. Reflection Of Tone In La Relacion By Cabeza De Vaca
Have you ever wondered why people use tone while writing ? Tone is a very
strategic way to get the reader s attention. While reading, people can have a
different opinion than you. De Vaca did not know that he would have to use tone or
even write a report on all that happened in order to save his own life.
While on the journey, Cabeza de Vaca uses a gloomy tone in his report La
Relacion. Some people believe in God and some do not. After the crash de Vaca
explains in his narrative , Nothing but God s great mercy kept us from going down
(de Vaca 73). He believed that they are still alive because God is protecting them
and even though some of the spaniards died God is still protecting them. Death is
very scary for a lot of people because no one knows what happens after a someone
dies. In other words, de vaca writes, I would have welcomed death rather than see
so many around me in such condition (deVaca 73). de Vaca was feeling very terrible
when he said this and did not want to be alive and would rather be dead more than
anything while writing this in his narrative. However, de Vaca s tone towards the
Indians is a scared tone. When de Vaca and his men first encounter the Indians,
they were very frightened. He states in his narrative, we could not hope to defend
ourselves (de Vaca 74) . de Vaca and his men were very poor in health. They were
only eating rice every now and then. There was no way they could have fought the
Indians off with no health at all. So they thought

Many great drivers have risen and fallen in the history of Formula 1. One driver is
know to every motorsport fan in the world. His name was Ayrton Senna. The World
Champion of 1988, 1990 and 1991, Brazilian Ayrton Senna proved himself as one of
the greatest drivers and sportsman until his death at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix
at Imola.
Everyone s heard it. He was the best driver that ever lived . Sennas the best , The

Ayrton Senna was born on March 21st, 1960 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. His father was a

On March 25th, 1984 Senna had his first Formula 1 race, the Brazilian Grand Prix.
He qualified 16th and eventually had to retire with a blown turbo. The next race
he had was Monaco and it was horrible. It was raining heavily and Senna was
overjoyed. He qualified 13th on the grid, and during the race, he slowly came up to
second place, right behind the French prodigy, Alain Prost. On lap 32, the story
everyone remembers, Prost slowed at the starting line because he wanted to stop
the race due to the terrible conditions, and as he did, Senna overtook him. But right
as he did, the red flag was pulled out because of the extremely rainy conditions.
Therefore, the positions for the second to last lap were taken, with Prost in first and
Senna second. He was furious because he believed he had one his first Grand Prix.
But everyone was still impressed with Senna s performance. One of those people was
Lotus manager Peter Warr. When Senna told his manager from Toleman that he was
moving to Lotus, the Toleman team was furious because Senna was breaking the two
year contract he had signed with Toleman.
It was 1985 and a new start for Senna and his Lotus, but that year was terrible.
Senna was a DNF for almost half the races. But then came along 1986. The new
Lotus 98T was much better than the old 97T. He had a string of victories, but still
was beaten by his new rival, four time world champion

With the rising effects of Global warming taking its toll on glaciers and agriculture
in British Columbia, surprisingly the white water rafting industry has managed to
grow significantly in the last 20 years. As the global temperature continues to rise, it
is predicted that the Glaciers will be reduced to nothing, thus taking its effect on
water flow. British Columbia has seen it s average temperature rise twice as fast as
the global average. For rafting companies, this means shorter paddling season and
flooding. Average annual temperatures have warmed by between 0.5 1.7 degrees
Celsius in different regions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the plan to be an international Raft Guide, the majority of my clientele will be
travelers from Europe and North America, mainly English speaking. But with the rise
of Asian tourists in Canada soon there will be a large minority of the travelers in
British Columbia and around Canada.
As the Global temperature continues to rise, North, Central and South America have
experienced numerous catastrophic weather related events. These include, heavy
rainfall in Venezuela (1999, 2005), flooding in Argentina (2000), drought in the
Brazilian Amazon (2005), Hailstorms in Greater Buenos Aires area and Bolivia
(2002,2005) and hurricane Katrina in 2004. Fortunately British Columbia has not
been exposed to as many catastrophic events but is still at risk to floods, heat waves,
drought, infectious disease vectors, diarrhoel diseases, ground level ozone and cold
waves. These events have affected the tourism industry in many ways, but will only
get worse with the rising frequency of these events. The issue at hand is not only the
rising vulnerability of these catastrophic events but also the reduction of Glaciers in
the Andean, costal and Rockies, which provide many communities with water. Once
these rivers dry up, many of these rafting companies will have to close down because
there business is built around the river. As a

Assessment of Problem: Clearly describe the problem in your work unit and your
plan to solve the problem.
The problem within the work unit is that we tend to be complacent and sees things
as they are and not as they could be. The Agency s mission is To responsibly
provide access to quality health coverage for vulnerable Mississippians. In order to
accurately carry out this mission, the Office of Appeals needs to aggressively keep
up with advances in technology (i.e. computer application and software), and eagerly
embrace new found ways of ensuring that our clients receive information and
assistance as quick and efficiently as possible. My plan to solve this problem is to
create, and then recommend implementing a new communication record for tracking
beneficiaries and clients request for a state eligibility hearing. Each record will be
assigned an appeal number that would allow us to track the case from receipt through
resolution.
To date, the Office of Appeals is utilizing an Excel spreadsheetto record and track
incoming requests (See Attachment I). The spreadsheet displays data in text and
numbers, which allows sorting and calculations. The problem with the spreadsheet is
it does not effectively provide electronic tracking of incoming eligibility appeal
requests from the Agency s thirty (30) regional offices. Also, the problem is that the
spreadsheet does not allow space for more specific data to be entered that is
considered pertinent to the case (See Attachment
27. The Importance Of A Irish Step Dancing
Another major change in Irish step dancing since its creation, and even in the last
century, is the actual movement of the dancers. Watching Irish step dancing now, it is
very clear that the movement is about the feet. In competition, dancers move their
feet and legs quickly and swiftly in order to impress judges and the audience. Another
distinct feature about Irish danceas opposed to other dance styles is the rigidity of
the top half of the body. Dancers keep their torsos straight and keep their arms at
their side. Keeping the arms at the sides is so important to the sport that judges will
actually deduct points from a dancer s score if there is any movement in the arms.
However, this rigidity in the torso and arms was not always the... Show more content

Aside from the lack of movement in the arms, Irish step dancing has begun to
feature much more technically difficult moves that are much faster, much harder,
and much more showstopping. It is believed that these moves in competition have
been inspired by the globally known Irish step dancing show, Riverdance. This
show, which features group numbers, is famous for its enchanting nature. Dance
Magazine described the show as being famous for its long li ne of unison Irish step
dancers who pound out lightning fast rhythms with ramrod straight arms (Carr
16). The lightning fast movement that has been mesmerizing audiences across the
globe since the shows debut in 1995, has been picked up by competitive Irish
dancers and has completely changed the style of dance. Dancers often wear two
different types of shoes, a soft shoe and a hard shoe, for two different types of
dances. While soft shoe dances are still about being graceful and gliding across the
floor, hard shoe dances have picked up the show stopping mannerisms of shows
like Riverdance and Lord of the Dance, another famous travelling Irish step dancing
show. Mary Lou Schade, the founder of the Schade school of Irish Dance in New
York actually attributes the change in the dance steps to these two dance shows. In
Riverdance and Lord of the Dance, the music is very fast, so it makes the steps look
very difficult. In competitive dancing, there are regulated tempi. For example, the

28. The Tuskegee Syphilis And Unethical Behavior
The medical world has never been black and white. A lot of the medical discovers
had multiple ethical gray areas. Through the questionable testing and nameless
patients, doctors were able to get away with faulty practices. Particularly in America
during the 20th century, doctors from the United States Public Health Services
observed the effects of Syphilis, an infectious diseases, on 600 African American
males. This was called the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment. For 40 years the doctors
watched how the disease attacked the human body. Instead of curing the patients the
doctors left them infested. The ethical issue at hand is seen in the actions and in the
rituals of the doctors presiding over this experiment. Ancient philosophers such as
Confucius and Aristotle would agree with this ethical issue. Confucius s role ethics
will show that the doctors were deficient in performing their roles properly, and
Aristotle s virtueethics will show that the doctors are not acting in accordance with
virtue. Therefore, the doctors were acting in an unethical capacity.
The Tuskegee Syphilis trials targeted African American males in an unethical
infectious disease trial. The doctors from the United States Public Health Services

it was seen that [certain] racial groups were differentially susceptible to infectious

30. The Movement Of The Jewish Culture
Furthermore, by using the feminist interpretation within this passage, Jesus didn t
want to discard tradition but wants to reform the freedom of woman from the
restrictions and limitations of the rules and regulations of the Jewish culture and the
tradition by bringing more equality in society. Women s lives in Jesustime were
overruled and dominated by a male figure , who were to control every aspect in
their lives. This was due to the fact that women were seen to be unholy more inclined
to being sinful, and were submissive; hence one of Jesus missions became to reform
the image of women. Hence by using the feminist interpretation method, I can
conclude that Jesus intentions of preaching to Mary, was for him to reform the
Jewish culture, by spreading hope and strength among women standing up for a new
culture and a generation which will create a new and equal society.
Therefore, by using the feminist interpretation within this passage, we can
conclude that in Jesus time, Jesus was a strong advocate to reforming society and
allowing women to become equals to men, as God has created us all in the image
and likeness of himself, hence why all humans are precious and a gift because God
is precious and a gift. Jesus said Mary has chosen the better path , which implies the
message of salvation is significant to all people. Hence, everyone is eligible to listen
to the words of the Lord not just men but also women. Therefore, this passage,
emphasises the message
31. Dr. Constance Peterson s Spellbound, A Film Production...
First, the old maid characterizes female scientist who is only interested in work as
if she was married to it. The spectators will have no doubt of her scientific
competence. Nonetheless, as a woman, she is definitely lacking of something. She
does not necessarily appear as an old lady, but she does appear bespectacled. In
addition, she is depicted to have an old fashioned style. Throughout the course of the
film, this femaleprotagonist will undergo a transformation, a character development.
Then, a man will appear and change her life. This particular man is going to show
her a way of love which is way out of her routine rationality. A character which best
illustrates this first stereotype is Dr. Constance Peterson in Spellbound, a 1945
movie production directed by David O. Selznick (Flicker 311).
Second, the male woman is portrayed as a member of male team who can stand on
her on by learning to be assertive within her male colleague environment, have a
rough and harsh voice, dress practically and tend to acquire unhealthy lifestyle such
as bad sleeping habits, smokes, drinks (Flicker 311). To some extent, this male
woman female scientist is parallel to the character of male scientist who is often
times portrayed as hard, very diligent worker, absent minded, confused or worse, mad
(Haynes quoted in Flicker 311). More to this, in term of femininity, this female
scientist does not have such quality, rather she is seen as asexual characteristic. Even
though, her
32. Roles Of Women In Oedipus The King, Antigone, And
Medea
Readers of the three Greek plays, Oedipus the King, Antigone, and Medea, can easily
gather an abundance of information about the different cultural details within the
Greek society at that time. One of the major cultural values that can be picked up
from these three plays, is the roles of women in this society. The roles of women can
be observed through a comparison between them and their male counterparts.
In Oedipus the King, the only female character that plays a part in the play is
Oedipus s wife, Jocasta. Although Jocasta s role in the play is a key component to
how the story plays out, she doesn t seem to have as many lines as the men in the
play. This in itself can show that a woman s opinion wasn t believed to have much
importance compared to the opinion of a man. Jocasta was simply expected to
support her husband and his decisions. In the play, Jocasta s role seem s to simply
be present for the sole purpose of helping push Oedipus into discovering the truth
about his birth. She informs him that her former husband was told that it was fate
that he should die a victim at the hands of his own son, a son to be born of Laius
(Pg. 11, Ln 820) and herself. She then continues by telling Oedipus all of the details
of Laius death, which helps brings him to the realization that he was the man who
killed Laius. When they later discover that Oedipus is Jocasta s son, she kills herself.
This seems to be a predictable ending for a woman s life to end in Greek tragedies and

for life and dark denotes the death. We originated from nature and we will return to
it. Notion of darkness in the poem becomes both creator and destroyer, an image
which initiates the cyclical process of the poem . (CABRAL,2005,p.10)
Central motif of death in the poem is in the first stanza presented as comeback to
the natural world and losing of self in favor of creating unity along with the
elements. This idea differs as the reader moves to the second stanza and reads about
generic death, or individual one. Similarly as in the Thomas previous poem, he
moves from general issue to the more individual or even personal one, that is typical
feature of his style of writing.

I shall not murder

Elegy of innocence and youth.
I shall not murder is a typical allusion to the Ten Commandments, and Nor blaspheme
down the stations of the breath stands for another expression that forbid disturbing
the childВґs death that is presented as sacred. (CABRAL,2005,p.11)
Deep with the first dead lies London s daughter,
Robed in the long friends,
The grains beyond age, the dark veins of her mother,
Secret by the unmourning water
Of the riding Thames.
After the first death, there is no other.
Motif of death is constantly present. The reader is still aware of this condition of a
child and that the poet refuses to mourn. The phrase London s daughter is a reference
to the child that was killed in London, the grains may stand for the human race.
Unmourning water is a reminder that despite the death, water does not mourn,
because it is a part of the natural world, as is a human being and water knows that it
is no reason to mourn because of the cyclical aspect of life of everything living.
This idea of eternity of the nature and human soul is expressed through the whole
poem, combined with the elements of religion and Christianity as was supported
by analysis of Cabral and Rukhaya. The symbol of the child is not used as
reference of innocence or another primary definition of this symbol, but here in this
poem, it stands for life not blossomed yet that was taken away but author refuses to
mourn it, because he knows that the life is eternal. He also feels rage against this
senseless death of a life that almost did not start

35. Taking a Look at Operation Anaconda
Operation Anaconda was the largest battle fought in Afghanistan by conventional
forces. It took place after US Special Forces aligned with Afghan forces from the
Northern alliance ran bombing campaigns that crushed the Taliban in late 2001. The
operation would take place in the Shahikot valley which had peaks that were
anywhere around 8,000 to 12,000 feet. The high altitude, rocky terrain and the cold
weather prove difficult for air assault missions in the area of operations (AO) and for
conventional forces that were not trained for combat operations at such high altitudes
and cold weather.
In mid January the US Intelligence community noticed the massing of a sizeable Al
Qaeda force moving towards the Shahikot valley in Southeastern Afghanistan.
Planning began for an operation to strike at the Al Qaeda troops before they could
become a hindrance for future operations, the local populace as well block rat routs
out of Afghanistan. But the tribes in this part of Afghanistan were considerably less
friendly to America than the Northern Alliance. The reason for bringing in
Conventional forces for Operation Anaconda, in which previous operations were
mainly Special Operation led was the unreliable Afghan fighters. The lack of
confidence in the Afghan fighters in that part of the country was partly to blame for
the failure to trap the Al Qaeda forces in Tora Bora and expectedly through
inexperience and neglect let Osama Bin Laden (UBL) possibly escape in a rat route

Wrongful Termination in Malaysia Introduction In an increasingly globalized
marketplace, cross cultural employment and management issues are becoming
increasingly commonplace as multinational corporations seek to expand their
operations into foreign markets. In this environment, it is not surprising that
misunderstandings and disputes may arise during the administration of
employment contracts. The manner in which these types of cases are adjudicated
provides some useful insights into what may reasonable be expected in similar
circumstances for similarly situated enterprises in the future. To gain some fresh
insights into this area, this study provides a review of four precedential cases from
Malaysia and an analysis of these real world employment and industrial law cases
to identify appropriate remedies for wrongful dismissal and to determine if the best
remedy was well defined and justified. A summary of the research and important
findings are provided in the study s conclusion. Review and Analysis Background
and Overview Thousands of ppeople in Malaysia are hired and fired every day
without incident, but in a few cases, employees consider their termination unjust or
unwarranted. According to Black s Law Dictionary (1991), wrongful termination is
an employee s cause of action against his former employer, alleging that his discharge
was in violation of state or federal statutes or employment contracts (p. 1612). When
cases involving wrongful termination arise, it

makes the jumping frog story a humorous one rather an a witty one and explain
how Twain accomplished what he did. From the subject of telling a story gravely ,
how one tells a nub , and how it contrasts to a comical story. The secret is being
expressionless. Twain mention that in order to master a humorous story, it must be
told gravely. Well, what does that exactly mean? In the first few paragraphs we can
see how our author presents Simon Wheeler as seemingly to have an impartialness,
neutrality, yet true genuineness about him as he tells the story. To the author, nothing
seemed ridiculous to him no matter how crazy the story progressed. That is exactly
what gravely means. When a person builds up a story as a bland, ordinary thing
although it is evidently the contrary, it becomes the most comedic tale, and that is
what Twain takes advantage of in Wheeler s personality, whether he realizes it or not.

There are two exceptions to the Golden Thread by Sankey (Bennion 1990) these
being insanity and express and statutory exceptions, this is when a statute places the
burden of proof on the defendant (woolmington). Insanity is the only common law
defence which imposes a legal burden of proof on woolmington, express statutory is
when the statute expressly imposes the legal burden of proving a defence on the
accused and implied statutory exceptions which exist when a statute prohibits a type
of conduct but permits in specific circumstances, such as diminished responsibility

prosecution to prove the defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt are an
important principle of English law. This is reinforced by the European convention of
human rights article 6(2) stating that an individual is declared to be innocent until
they have been proven guilty. The importance of Sankey s golden thread speech is
that it played a significant importance for the case of woolmington as it created a

The musical opened on June 16, 1973, at The Royal Court Theatre Upstairs in
London,
England. The musical which was originally a just for kicks show was intended to
run only a couple of weeks, but took broadway by storm and became a huge success.
The musical then moved from the 60seat
Theatre Upstairs to a series of larger theatres such as the Classic
Cinema. The Rocky Horror Picture Show made the cinema it s home from Aug. 14,
1973 to
Oct. 20, 1973, then moving to King s Road from Nov. 3, 1973 to March 31, 1979,
and finally the
Comedy Theatre in the West End from April 6, 1979 until September 13, 1980
marking the end of the shows initial run in the UK. The show played in London for a
total of 2,960 performances.
About ten months into the run, Lou Adler saw the musical and brought it to the
United States with the show s first preview on March 19, 1974. The Rocky Horror
Picture Show then spread all throughout the world with the Australian premiere also
in 1974 and Japan in 1975. The musical was made into a feature film 1975 shot at
Oakley Court in Windsor, England. In an attempt as a promotion for the movie, the
musical was brought back to the broadway stage on
March 10, 1975, but failed to capture audiences, with a total of only 3 previews and
41. Medieval Chroniclers And Disease
Given the material presented above, it is hardly surprising that German expeditions
into Italy frequently suffered from heavy disease mortality. But how can we be
certain that any given disease outbreak is malaria, as opposed to typhoid, typhus,
bubonic plague, or some other disease associated with marching armies? In general,
the medieval chroniclers were not very helpful in distinguishing between various
infections, and this reflects the prevailing mindset to disease at the time. Rather than
regarding diseases as discrete entities caused by specific pathogens, pre modern
writers generally believed that disease was caused by environmental factors,
especially swamp miasmas or urban filth. What is more, diseases were understood as
existing along
42. The Amendment Is Not Protected Under The Freedom Of
Speech...
The first amendment, of the Constitution, protects all citizens from Congress making
laws that respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise
thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the
people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of
grievances. Most U.S citizens how this amendment, or at least a summary of it,
memorized. Citizens have the right to speak their mind as they sit fit, practice any
religion, and protest. However, in modern times, it is understandable to see why this
is not entirely true. Court decisions have put many restrictions on the liberties
presented in the 1st amendment. A citizen cannot use religion as an excuse for
sacrifices, or protest in violent fashions. The most controversial, and complicated,
restrictions are those prohibiting certain kinds of speech. One of the Supreme is that
obscenityis not protected under the freedom of speech. A problem quickly raise
was: what, exactly, is obscenity? Under Miller v California, to be obscene a
publication must, taken as whole, appeal to prurient interest, must contain patently
offensive depictions or descriptions of specified sexual conduct, and on the whole
have no serious literary, artistic, political or scientific value. It made sense to ban
specific types of speech that was, at the root, meant to be hateful or obscene.
However, Indianapolis legislator, in American Booksellers Association v. Hudnut,

43. Significance Of The Globe Theatre
Elizabethan drama remains some of the most appreciated and world renowned to
ever exist. Despite its early foundation in the mid 16th century to early 17th century,
plays from William Shakespeare, Ben Jonson and Christopher Marlowe, almost five
hundred years later are regularly produced and performed to a modern audience. No
dramatist, living or dead, has been more frequently reprinted or performed, or
translated into a greater variety of languages...Shakespeare in performance is now
reaching larger audiences than ever before in history . (S.Schoenbaum, 1979) One of
the main reasons for the longevity of Elizabethan theatrical success was the
construction of The Globe Theatrein 1599. With the construction of The Globe came
notable improvements in special effects, costumes, makeup and the size of audiences
attending the performances.

The simplistic architecture throughout The Globe and its productions can be
recognised as another example of its lasting influence as this tradition remains
within modern performances in the 1997 Globe and its own construction.
Theatrical innovation was quite creative with regards to special effects and sound.
These were managed by using fireworks, drums, and even firing canons throughout
the dramas. When Shakespeare wrote plays, all the action took place on a small
stage with little more than a painted wall to suggest the setting. If a scene called for
thunder, stagehands pounded a drum or rippled sheet metal. If a scene required a
ghost or a god, stagehands lowered him on a winch line or sent him up through a
trap door. A character wounded in a sword fight clapped a hand to his chest, bursting
a pouch beneath his shirt to release blood or a facsimile thereof . (Cummings,
44. Cinderella By Charles Perrault
Cinderella is one of the most popular fairytales of all time. According to the
SurLaLune website, there are between 345 1,500 different versions of this story.
Possibly the earliest or first Cinderella story is based on an Egyptian tale entitled
Rhodopis. What fascinates me the most about Cinderella, is that some aspects of this
story could be true. A young woman could have been mentally, emotionally, and
physically abused by familymembers and lived happily ever after. Why not right?
However, what if the story wasn t what it seemed? What if the wicked stepmother
and stepsisters really weren t wicked at all? The Stepsister s Tale was a very
surprising twist to Charles Perraults version of the Cinderellastory. What I loved
about this version was that the roles were switched.... Show more content on

I don t want to sound pessimistic towards that because there is nothing wrong with
dreaming. Everyone should strive to achieve their dreams. There was just
something about this version of Cinderella that made me feel appreciative. I
appreciated the realism, I loved reading and imagining how the girls were feeling,
and I loved that there was still romance in the story. I read some reviews on this
book and many people were bored and didn t like the twist. I didn t feel that way at
all. I thought it was exciting and mysterious! I kept wondering what would happen
next and I stayed engaged throughout the whole story. I m going to start reading
more versions of the fairy tales. They only one novel I have read aside from The
Stepsister s Tale was Ella Enchanted. I need to explore versions of Beauty and the
Beast, Rumpelstiltskin, The Little Mermaid, Red Riding Hood, etc. I want to write
books someday and I think I may write my own twists to some fairy tales. It is clear
to see that fairy tales are timeless. These tales capture so many cultures and
individuals around the world. Creating my own version of a tale could be
45. Accidents In Hockey Essay
Accidents in Hockey
Accidents can and do happen anywhere, anytime to anyone. This statement is very
true when dealing with a physical contact sport like hockey. There is a certain
amount of risk involved in playing any sport. When an injury occurs, it inflicts
tremendous hardship on the injured person, the team and the parents as well. Hockey
is a very popular and fun game to play (it is now considered
Canada s national sport, along with lacrosse) but it can also be very dangerous.
As players become better educated about hockey injuries and play by the rules the
game will be even more fun to play. This paper will discuss the importance of
common and catastrophic injuries, protective equipment, an indepth ... Show more

If you were to include facial injuries which would be a combination of the head, teeth
/mouth, jaw/chin and eye injuries they would represent 26% of all reported injuries.
A special analysis has been undertaken by the Hockey Development Centre of Canada
to better understand this problem.
The head is often driven into the boards awkwardly which leads to concussions.
NHL,OHL amd Junior A players are suffering head injuries because they do not have
to wear full face masks and are subject to stick infraction.
CATASTROPHIC INJURIES
Catastrophic injury is any incident causing death or permanent long term disability.
Hockey played out of Ontario has seen a dramatic decrease in catastrophic injuries.
There were 26 such injuries in 1992 compared to 44 in
1989 and 79 in 1986. In the past, Ontario had represented almost half of (more than
200) spinal injuries since 1976. The reduction of these numbers is due from
hockey executives who introduced a rule prohibiting checking from behind in the
1985 season. A report done by Glen Mccurdie (manager of the health benifts for the
CHA) told of nine Canadian players who suffered broken necks, with three reslting
in quadriplegia. In the 1992 season four players suffered broken necks, two were
classed as unavoidable because they involved players losing their balance and falling
into the boards.
Finally, league and executive members are
