Robert Bruce Anthony Brownell was born to loving and supportive parents, Kevin
Brownell and Bonnie Piccolo in Hartford, CT on April 29th 1987. Rob was a
troubled and lonely child until just before high school when he finally made some
friends. He and his friends were preoccupied with living an enjoyable but careless
lifestyle and considered school merely as an unavoidable annoyance. After graduating

For the duration of the course I worked on Hungry Slugs on congruence with CARe.
The foundation of the organization was created last year to serve the growing
homeless student population. The homeless students aren t the only one s who are
food insecure. Over 40% of the UC students have Hungry Slugz works on the
anonymous distribution of food to respect students privacy. Discretion is an essential
part of the organization with the stigma surrounding homelessness. The food served is
already prepared to make it accessible for those lacking cooking facilities. Hungry
Slugs will placed as a sister organization under CARe in order to provide more
stability till the infrastructure is more developed.
For my goals, I began the surface level readings surrounding my focus. I have
developed my first presentation for CARe to push for the participation of Hungry
Slugs. I will continue to add accessible information to the presentation as we get
closer to the first meeting. I ve also developed a list of the on campus organizations
and resources to reach out to. I have started the process of planning what education
workshops I want to move towards throughout the year. I now have a better

Soon as we got home, they were trying to get the toy. I told them to go in the house,
while I get the toy. Fast forward, later that even, it was time for the children to do

he dropped in the trunk. I told him to borrow a pencil from somebody, to do his
homework. All while I wasn t using the trunk, nobody ever said anything about it!
For some reason, it seemed like, every since Brianna s toy was tossed in the trunk,

When a cell phone goes off at an event that is meant to be silent, everybody looks
and gives an inside look at that person, but at least our lives are not endangered.
While we are on the road, careless cellphone users are more than annoying, they are
putting our lives at risk! Most of us have seen some people behind the wheel of a
car driving as if they are drunk, when really they are texting... They re putting our
lives at risk. We all have witnessed distracted drivers that can t drive between the
lines or even run off the road. There has been many laws that has been passed that
prohibits texting and driving, but they all seem to be ignored by many people. A
number of bills to regulate use of cellphones on the road have been introduced in
state legislatures, and the time has come to push for their passage. Regulation is
needed because drivers using phones are seriously impaired and because laws on
negligent and careless driving are not sufficient to punish offenders. No one can
deny that cell phones have caused traffic deaths and injuries. Cell phones were
implicated in three fatal accidents in November 1999 alone. Early in November, two
