Essays On Exams
Writing an essay on the topic "Essays on Exams" can be both challenging and rewarding. The
difficulty arises from the need to navigate through various aspects of examinations, such as their
significance, preparation strategies, stress factors, and the impact on individuals and society.
Crafting a comprehensive essay requires a deep understanding of the subject matter, critical
thinking skills, and the ability to articulate thoughts coherently.
One challenge lies in striking the right balance between personal experiences and general
observations. A successful essay should not only delve into personal anecdotes but also
incorporate broader perspectives to resonate with a diverse audience. Balancing the analytical
and emotional aspects can be tricky, as it requires a nuanced approach to convey the significance
of exams both on an individual level and within the broader societal context.
Another hurdle is the vastness of the topic itself. Exams encompass a wide range of subtopics,
from the educational system's role in shaping exams to the psychological impact of high-stakes
assessments. Narrowing down the focus and maintaining a clear, concise argument can be
demanding, as one must decide which aspects to highlight and which to exclude.
Moreover, the challenge extends to staying updated with the latest developments in education
and examination systems. A well-researched essay requires the inclusion of recent studies, policy
changes, and evolving perspectives on exams. Staying abreast of these developments adds an
extra layer of complexity to the writing process.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the multifaceted topic of "Essays on Exams" demands a
combination of research skills, critical thinking, and effective communication. While it may pose
challenges, the process offers an opportunity for personal and intellectual growth. For those

Short Essay
The pouring rain was falling hard and fast like a speeding steam train,
accompanied by a thick mix of fog and smoke that blocked the sun more than 200
feet away. The path we were traveling on was blocked by fresh and rotting bodies,
enormous puddles from the days of rain, hiding the massive amounts of shrapnel
whizzing through the thick fog, smoke and the mud too. I turned and looked at
how my fellow soldiers were holding up. On my left was Arthur, the youngest
solider in our squad. He looked like he was on the verge of a mental breakdown,
one most common after everything he s been through, he was so terrified you could
see the tears rolling down his mud covered face.
Jared! I yelled out. He jumped and pointed his gun in every direction. ... Show more

What was that? Tony fearfully said whilst pointing his gun in front of him. The
pouring rain started to get worse as a roar of thunder could be heard for miles.
Then, all of a sudden a BANG! A flash of lightning lit up the whole trench. I was
expecting to see the other end of the trench filled with angry Turks, but fortunately
for us there was only one figure lying at the end. Relief came over everyone.
The figure lying at the end started shouting and screaming the same thing over and
over again. Yaraliyim lГјtfen yardД±m et! Yaraliyim lГјtfen yardД±m et! No one
knew what he was saying, we didn t speak Turkish. Turn him around so we can see
him! I yelled. Tony and Jared ran over to the man lying on the ground and turned
him round. Once they got a good look at him they both quickly let go of him. His
skin was melting and he was missing limbs, sitting there helpless. He couldn t even
move himself around. Tony quickly became very green and walked as far away as
he could. I felt myself becoming a little queasy looking at this poor man, I ve seen a
lot in my time but this was something else.
We heard a voice near the entrance of the trench. Burada! AdamД±

to try save him. Get out NOW! I commanded. The other men all started to run out
of the trench as Tony reached the exit he yelled back to me What are you doing let s

Sinosteel Strengthens Business Management with ERP Applications
1. What is the business of Sinosteel, what are its major challenges, and how would
an ERP system address the challenges they face? 2. Why did Sinosteel pursue the
development of an ERP system? What were the objectives? What challenges
(risks) does ERP address for Sinosteel? [The CEO is difficult to understand on
some of the objectives, but later in the video an IT manager is more clear and
reflects the CEO s position almost exactly. You will need to listen carefully]. 3. What
factors were important in the choice of Oracle? 4. How did business processes
change in order to implement this ERP system? 5. What do you think some of the

Some challenges that needed to be addressed were: centralizing the company s
customer and employee database, enforcing resource management, HR management,
and customer relations management. The goal for Sinosteel s ERP program was to
optimize resources, increase management expertise, consolidate management, and
optimize human resource management. The ERP helped speed up the management
process, standardize management regulations and coding, keep information risks to a
minimum, and improve data sharing which in turn increased management efficiency.
2. In order to become a more centralized, precise business unit, Sinosteel decided to
implement an ERP system. Some of the objectives of this implementation are to
prevent the inabilities of management, and to optimize resources; both business and
human. With the help of this ERP system, Sinosteel plans to achieve business
efficiency and sustainable development. Sinosteel recognized the need to consolidate
management to these diverse operations. They chose Oracle software to implement
this ERP project. Sinosteel s goals were set by Huang Tianwen (President of
Sinosteel Corporation). Some of the goals were to prevent risks in business
operations and management and to also optimize its resource assignments and human
resource management. Using a range of Oracle software,

The Romantic Era
The Romantic Era was one of the most artistically influential eras in recent history.
Artists were fueled by their inner romantic and creative emotions rather than the more
sinister tormented geniuses of the past. Their works were full of drama, love and
death. The performing arts in particular were flourishing; balletwas truly taking off.
The first pointe shoeswere introduced in a performance of La Sylphides, shorter tutus
and partnering were becoming the norm. But in particular, it was the era that brought
about one of the most well known ballets of all time, Giselle.
There are few eras with as distinct an artistic evolution as that of the Romantic Era.
The style of this time developed between 1775 and 1850. Romanticism, as it was
called, first came to be in England and Germany: then it spread into post revolutionary
France and North America. The romantics preferred sentimental feelings to more
somber reasons for creative genius. Although they were exceptionally conservative in
that era, the artists of the Romantic era created pieces that have never been rivaled.
The Romantic Era was a time of artistic abundance.
The invention of pointe work lead to dancers shortening their skirts, so as to better
display the footwork, and be more easily lifted by partners. This dress could have
been considered scandalous for the time, but it was accepted by the art form, as it
truly allowed the dancers to develop. Although the dancers of the Romantic Era were

The Truth Behind Animals in Captivity
Animal activists documentaries and incidents have recently brought up the question
of weather or not animals should be held in captivity for human entertainment or
conservation. A series of recent events has the general pubic asking them selves if
animals should be allowed to be in captivity. On February 24, 2010 Tilikum, a
12,000 pound killer whale held at Sea World Orlando, dragged trainer Dawn
Brancheau to the bottom of the tank during their daily show performance Dine with
Shamu, killing her. This was not the first time Tilikum had killed one of his trainer,
in 1991 and 1999 he was involved in similar incidents that unfortunately claimed the

The Humane Society conducted a study in 2009 and found some of the negative
side effects on marine mammals in captivity. In the wild dolphin and whales can
spend up to 80% of their time in the ocean depths and the remaining 20% of their
time at the oceans surface (Marine). Because of the shallow and small tanks they
spend more time on the surface causing skin problems. This also caused their dorsal
fins on top to collapse without the support of the ocean water gravity pulls the fins
over. In the wild a dorsal fin collapse happens in approximately 1% of killer whale
and in captivity all male and most female whales experience it. Most animals are put
into cages much smaller than their natural habitat restricting their natural instincts to
roam around. Confiding animals to a single area could also causes unsanitary
conditions to arise if the animals reproduce quickly since they would all be close to

The Short Stories Of An Hour And A Pair Of Silk Stockings
The Short Stories of Kate Chopin The short stories, The Story of an Hour and A
Pair of Silk Stockings were both written in the 1800 s. The stories are both written
by Kate Chopin, a female author. The period in which these stories were written
gave impact on other female writers to produce stories too. The literary devices
Chopin uses in both these stories show how educated female writers were at the
time. The way the author, Kate Chopin, uses many literary devices in her works,
The Story of an Hour and A Pair of Silk Stockings , such as location, imagery and
characterization. FIrst, Chopin uses location in both of her stories. In The Story of an
Hour the location of the short storyis in Mrs. Mallards home. After learning of her
husbands death, She went away to her room alone (Story 463). Mrs. Mallard was
locked away in her room alone with an open window and a roomy arm chair that
she sank, pressed down by a physical exhaustion that hauned her body and seem to
reach into her soul (Story 463). According to Hicks, in the overview of The Story
of an Hour , the emotion in Mrs. Mallards bedroom is indisputable, the suspension
of intelligent thought removes from the reader the need to share in the window s
grief and instead allows him or her to remain an onlooker, as eager as Mrs. Mallard
to see what was approaching to possess her (2). In A Pair of Silk Stockings Mrs.
Sommers was buying expensive clothes for herself in stores, buying nice food at
School Lunches Persuasive Essay
Having past those awkward teen years, I know exactly what temptations lurk
around the corner when dealing with weight. I can only say it gets progressively
easier to maintain a healthy weight as you get older, but only if you follow my
tips. Tip 1: Do not smoke, drink or take recreational drugs. Am I serious? Well
considering smoking is anti beauty, drinking is a fattening sugar alcohol and drugs
can lead to eating binges, my answer is yes. Tip 2: Don t eat school lunches. The
reason schools created lunches were for busy parents who didn t have time to
prepare lunch at home. The result? Fattening choices like French fries and deep fried
chicken nuggets, desserts and ice cream. If you are wondering why you have gained

If any of you are television wrestling fans (WWE or any other league) you ll see that
most of the men are literally huge. Not many are less than 250 pounds, and that s
just the starting weight. It s utterly impossible to be as big (muscle wise) and not
weigh at least 250. That s all well and good for the pros. They re mostly on display
and we all assume it s fake. But I m talking about the kids in this sport. They range
in age from 14 18 years old and for the most part it s a great sport. It, as in all
competitive sports, teaches camaraderie, sportsmanship and working with others.
Wrestling is a sport that builds character and strong bodies. So where s my beef?
That s just it, in some cases there s just not enough of it. Take the 103 pound class.
How is a grappler supposed to maintain this kind of weight throughout a high
school career? He isn t. Most kids as they mature go on to the next weight class.
Now that s all well and good if everyone moved up as they progressed through
school, but that s just not the case. I m sure if any high school coaches are reading
this piece I ve now caught their attention. My problem starts right here. I m not
accusing any coach or parent of purposely trying to
Setting and Achieving Goals Essay
A person needs to achieve certain goals in one s life before you can call them
successful. Success is to achieve goals, you have set. I have set certain goals I would

professional. My professional goals in life are to find a good job that makes me
happy, get a good education, find a job that makes enough money for me to
support my family, and help people. Goals it is very important for me to receive a

Compare And Contrast Jamestown And Plymouth
After the failure of Roanoke in 1587, the English decided once again to try to
establish a permanent colony in North America. Major changes in the social and
economic life in England caused more people to want to come to America. After
new, more nutritious crops, were brought back from the Americas, the population of
England doubled. This increased the demand for more food, clothing, and other
goods. The gap between the rich and the poor also increased, leaving those with
little land in poverty. Religious freedom was also becoming an issue for people in
England, as the Reformation began in 1533. Those who wanted to break away from
the Catholic Church could not when divine right monarchs believed they had the
power to enforce a particular religionon their people. It was these factors that caused
the first settlers of Chesapeake and Plymouthto leave in search for a better life and to
find new opportunities. The early English settlements of Chesapeake and Plymouth
differed as well as resembled each other in trade and work, government, and
communal and family structure, which affected the quality of life in these colonies.

The Importance Of Critical Thinking
Critical thinking is a prerequisite to rationality. This means that there must be a
problem solving mechanism that seeks to conclude on the expected outcomes. As
such, critical thinking is tied around finding solutions to a problem. It is important
to note that there is a bias towards the end result to determine whether critical
thinking was employed. This makes sense because failing to find a solution to a
problem cannot be classified as critical thinking. As Steven Johnson said in Where
Good Ideas Come from, it is important to incorporate critical thinking in a problem
solving process to ensure that the desired outcome is achieved (Johnson, 2010). He
states that good ideas come from chaotic environment, even providing a photo of a...

What is more, critical thinking encompasses the use of various techniques that
translate into an exciting process towards problem solving. As such, Reiter Palmon
and Illies (2004) emphasize that any problem, when handled creatively, translates into
an environment whereby there is engagement, collaboration, and dialogue in the
development of solutions. As a result, when critical thinking is applied effectively, it
assists an individual to create solutions and positive experiences that lead to the
development of new ideas. Further, in reference to Reiter Palmon and Illies (2004),
critical thinking denotes an engaging process that is reliant on the use of various
intellectual skills coupled with activities. The activities and intellectual skills are
focused towards the evaluation of information, making assumptions, and sparking a
thinking process that is disciplined. Hence, an effective critical thinking process is
noteworthy towards ensuring that an individual can assess information
comprehensively. Reiter Palmon and Illies (2004) further believe that critical
thinking is a necessary part of the creative problem process since it assists in the
identification of false ideas that may impede the creation of solutions to various
problems. Critical thinking is equally based on
Harriet Tubman, Conductor Of The Underground Railroad
Harriet Tubman was very important in the movement against slavery, and definitely
Her courageousness, generosity, intellegence, and leadership skills, which surpass all
others, lead her to being the most important person in America in the 1850 s. Her
actions against slavery were the momentum that helped abolished slavery later in
America s history. When she led a group of 11 people to Canada, she executed all of
those traits. Her motivations. She lived to honor her mother, and that is why she
changed her name from minty to Harriet. In the History.com article, it says, Mah
people mus go free, her constant refrain, suggests a determination uncommon among
even the most militant slaves. She had extreme determination to free her fellow
slaves, and nothing was going to stop that. In the story Harriet Tubman, Conductor of
the Underground Railroad the narrator says, ...She urged them on, though she was as

She perservered through the toughest of struggles and delivered 300 slaves to
freedom. But her true heroism can also been seen a little more clearly when we
think about how she delivered those 300 slaves. Even when she was as tired as the
rest of the group, her vigilance never surrendered. According to the narrator in the
story Harriet Tubman: Conductor of the Underground Railroad says, When they
lay down deep in a thicket, she never really slept, because if a twig snapped or the
wind sighed in he branches of a pine tree, she jumped to her feet She never risked
the slaves getting caught, which only made it harder to keep pushing through. It was

Biography Of Robert Bruce Anthony Brownell
Obituary
Robert Bruce Anthony Brownell was born to loving and supportive parents, Kevin
Brownell and Bonnie Piccolo in Hartford, CT on April 29th 1987. Rob was a
troubled and lonely child until just before high school when he finally made some
friends. He and his friends were preoccupied with living an enjoyable but careless
lifestyle and considered school merely as an unavoidable annoyance. After graduating
from Avon High Schoolin 2005 he continued to spend many years engaging in
debauchery with his friends. Sometime around 2008, Rob began to discover a love
of philosophy which encouraged him to think more critically of himself and those he
surrounded himself with. This discovery also led to a love of reading and learning,
and Rob returned to school to study philosophy.
Financial issues often got in the way of achieving his goals, most notably a leg
injury that left him in a considerable amount of debt and caused him to leave his
school in Olympia, Washington to return to Connecticut to live with his parents. The
debt made him unable to transfer to finish his degree so he worked and saved for 3
years to pay it all off, and finally returned to school.
Over the years, Rob slowly got over a nagging feeling of loneliness whenever he
was by himself, and eventually became very comfortable in time spent alone. Rob
never got to achieve his dream of getting a Bachelor s degree in philosophy, going to
law school, and working for the ACLU, but he consistently strived to achieve
The Impact Of Television On Television
Television has come to define American culture and its youth in very significant
ways. What began as a platform for entertainment has branched out into becoming a
remarkable and unexpected way for younger children to learn. It is important to note
what is being broadcasted on television because of how much influence it has on the
youth. It has become the dominant storyteller in homes rather than parents, the
church, or schools (Signorielli, 2001). As technology further advances, children are
generally also becoming more comfortable with televisionand therefore spending
more time watching television. Children should not be receiving most of their

presented as intelligent, constructive, and they offered to help with information. In
Teen Titans Go!, the focal characters were all superheroes and their super powers
were not influenced by their sex/gender. Specifically speaking, women s ability to

Discuss The Controls Over The Royal Prerogative
The Royal Prerogative can be deemed as a difficult concept to define as unlike other
countries, the UK s constitution is uncodified, where there is no single legal
document which sets out the fundamental laws outlining how the state works.
Therefore, the definition is open to interpretation, which is illustrated through Dicey s
and Blackstone s explanations. William Blackstone, a renowned judge, offered the
interpretation that the prerogative is a power that; the king enjoys alone, in
contradistinction to others, and not to those which he enjoys in common with any of
his subjects. However, a broader definition is offered by A.V. Dicey, an eminent
constitutional scholar, who states; the prerogative appears to be both historically and
as a matter of actual fact, nothing else than the residue of arbitrary authority [..] left in
the hands of the Crown. Hence, through these contrasting views, it highlights how not
having any written framework leaves a scope for the Executive, involving the Prime
Minister and his ministers, to abuse the Prerogative Powers.

The Vikings And The Vikings
In modern society, the Vikings are seen to have been bloodthirsty savages and are
often portrayed in cinema as such. They are usually portrayed wielding axes and
wearing horned helmets, destroying everything and anyone in sight. The truth is that
the archaeological and historical records can only reveal so much about the Viking
conquerors of England. They did not wear horned helmets and they left behind
beautiful trinkets just as the Romans did hundreds of years before. Cinema likes to
portray Vikings as bloodthirsty savages because it makes for a good story, but they
also like the hero to always be victorious. What is left of the archaeological and
historical records show that the Vikings were no worse than the Romans or any
other conquering army in Britain. The Vikings were a conquering nation like the
Romans who had ruled Britain many years before. Rome conquered the native
English, forced them to live under Roman rule, and resurrected a wall to keep out the
natives who refused to submit. The brutality of Rome was known even before Viking
raids started devastating England. Bede even wrote about the Romans fighting the
Gauls and stated that Constantine did more harm than good to the Commonwealth
(Bede: Book 1, Ch. 11). The difference is in the way the two groups were viewed by
the people living in England. The English praised the Romans and embraced them as
part of their heritage and even contributed their first success against the Angles to

Essay Famine Relief
In response to the recent failure of the international community to prevent the
famine crisis in the Horn of Africa since July 2011, Suzanne Dvorak the chief
executive of Save the Children wrote that, We need to provide help now. But we
cannot forget that these children are wasting away in a disaster that we could and
should have prevented she added, The UN estimates that every $1 spent in prevention
saves $7 in emergency spending. (Dvorak, 2011). Many people who read such
statement wonder about our obligation towards faminerelief, and ask, whether we are
morally obliged to spend one dollar in order to prevent such a crisis or not. Forty
years ago, Peter Singer answered this question in his article Famine,... Show more

John Arthur presented a moderate view, more in line with our current behavior, that
recognizes an individual s entitlement to resources as an excuse against any moral
requirement to give them away. I will briefly present these entitlements, and
explain why they can t justify our refusal to help and aid in famine relief.
Entitlements of Rights: We are not obligated to give away our body parts in order to
save others, this is heroism and we are obliged to it .Our rights to our bodies weight
against whatever duty to help. Accordingly, strangers have only negative rights which
are rights against our interference and they don t have the rights to receive some
benefits. (831)
I am sure, most of the people, including me , agree that the first part of his
argument is plausible since it s difficult to decide to give one s kidney even to our
loved ones, mind you a stranger. However, this is not the case with famine relief or
helping the poor people since nobody is required to take such an action. The things
we have to sacrifice in order to prevent starvation and to help the poor do not
jeopardize our health or our well being like donating a kidney. I don t think that
anybody can argue that giving 10, 20, or even 1000 dollars a month put us in any
kind of risk or can be morally significant if compared to giving away our kidney!
Arthur didn t give this comparison any importance since he wanted only to prove our
rights to our possessions; and he
The Hardship of Going to College
Hardships of College
Going to college will be the best time of people s lives, but getting into college just
might be the worst. These topics being discussed are good to talk about for upcoming
college kids to help them get through this troubling time and inform them that they
have options. Getting into college is so difficult due to the high costs of tuition,
selectiveness of the college, and also just finding the best fit college for incoming
freshmen.
Finding a college that is in the right price range can be very difficult, due to high
tuitions, but financial aid services can be a great help to the families. Tuitions of
colleges differ from public universities to private universities. According to Average

Another form of financial help for college undergraduates is the FAFSA; it is the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid. According to FAFSA, this document is
used to determine your eligibility for federal aid, state aid and scholarships. The
department of education uses your FAFSA to determine how much your family
can afford to contribute to a child s college expenses (FAFSA). You can apply for
FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. FAFSA persuades families who are
convinced they are ineligible for need based financial aid should fill out the
FAFSA. Otherwise, you ll be ineligible for federal student loans, which are
available to all students. Most people don t even think to stop and pick up a penny,
not even a dime. Most will, however, stop to pick up a $5 bill, even if they are late
for lunch... and those will add up in your college fund!
Moving on... a big deal breaker for going to college is the right location, right
background, and just finding the best fit for the incoming undergraduates. Applying
to college is one of the most stressful things for high school seniors. The fall
semester of the senior year often incorporates the most rigorous course load, more
extracurriculars, new leadership positions, continued participation in athletics, and
re takes of standardized tests. In the midst of all this chaos seniors are expected to
apply to college, apply for financial aid, and take any last SAT or ACT
Aslan Analysis
Aslan s death is a very large topic in this book. Some of the questions we ask are
What does it mean? or why on the stone table? and why by the witch s hand? These
are just some of the few questions we ask. Aslan s death had a very large
significance in the story, it was one of the large example s proving that the White
Witch is a cruel and evil woman. In the story you hear the Dwarf and the White
Witch talking about the stone table and how that is where they take people to be
punished or executed, so they take Aslan there to be executed by first tying him to
the stone table while shouting and cheering as if they deserved an award, they
then shaved his mane and said things like Is this what we were afraid of? and How
many mice have you caught today cat? as if mocking him for being a cat, they then
muzzled him and he was executed. This cruel punishment was done by the white
witch because she wanted the honors of killing her enemy all to herself instead of
having any of her monsters doing it for her, because by doing it herself she got the
feeling and true significance of knowing that he was really dead. The entire ordeal
was cruel and wicked, but with that being said, few think that they understand the
reason for killing Aslan. If someone was as evil as the White witch came along to
meet someone as beloved as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That was truly what it all just really meant, the queen wanting to be the most
powerful. Even though white usually represents peace, tranquility, and hope the witch
was none of those things. Aslan represented those things and that is exactly why the
White Witch felt that she needed to do something about it. Supposedly in some
stories it is always the good guy who wins and never the bad guy, sometimes that s
just how it works in

Corporate Transparency And Efficient Resource Allocation
Introduction A successful organization depends on a solid strategic plan that includes
how it intends to handle transparency. In his article, (Champy, 2008) emphasizes
several principles he discovered while researching organizations for his book, the one
that resonates with both my personal and professional life is to be completely open
and transparent. He further goes on to outline the needs of a culture that embraces
and values transparency. Indeed, many experts and professionals agree that corporate
transparency and efficient resource allocationare closely related. The transparency, or
essentially the clear picture, as it relates to resource allocation allows organizations
to regularly direct their assets in the right directions, making it easier for them to be
allocated in more productive and useful areas of the organization. The rationale for
this strategy is fairly simple; having a clear picture means additional assurance for
the investing parties Francis et al., (2009). Using the roadmaps created from the
strategic plan, smart leaders easily figure out the risks involved, and take necessary
measures to eliminate or ameliorate them. Similarly, organizational transparency on a
whole is equally important for all the organization s stakeholders, especially potential
investors. This allows investors to easily weigh their options by evaluating any
critical information, and also the fact that the doings of the organizations are there to
be seen by everyone

Dark Age Ahead, By Jane Jacobs
In her novel, Dark Age Ahead, Jane Jacobs discusses why five pillars of society are
in danger. These five pillars are families rigged to fail, credentialing versus
education, science abandoned, and dumb downed taxes and self policing
subverted. She goes into detail as to why each of these sections of our society is
struggling and is destined for a dark age. However, for the purpose of this paper, I
will focus on educationand my agreement as to how educational institutions are
focusing on credentialing its student instead of educating them. When entering a
postsecondary education institution, parents and students alike believe that a good
education is a ticket to a successful job after graduation. This is especially true when

These numbers can be frightening for students who have to take out loans to finance
their education. However, many students do not understand what is waiting for them
after graduation. Students are encouraged to pick a subject to study that interest
them; although this is important, students also need to look at the job opportunities
available in that field of study. For example, many young students aspire to become
teachers, the job definitely has some perks, but finding a full time job in teaching
can be difficult. According to Maclean s 67 per cent of education graduates from
Ontario s class of 2009 found themselves unemployed or underemployed in the
following year (Dehaas 2011). When there are little to no job opportunities students
begin to feel the pressure and retreat back to what they know, school. Graduate school
seems great and all, but sometimes it is not the right track to take. Students
accumulate more debt, become more specialized and expect higher pay because of
their higher education. The Economist reports, In Canada 80% of postdocs earn
$38,600 or less per year before tax the average salary of a construction worker (The
Economist 2010). Students need to weigh their options before running back to
school. It might be best to work at a local restaurant for a year while looking for a
job in your career. When young students are faced with the option to attend university
or college many often sign up without any questions because they do not want

CafГ© de Coral is one of the popular restaurants in Hong Kong. However, it also has

In this case, there are some elements of procedural sides of customer service were

The element of timeliness was not fulfilled. Miss Tse waited twenty minutes for the

satisfy the customer expectation. In quick service restaurant, efficient service is
essential. Unfortunately, this fast food restaurant cannot provide a quick service to

The element of anticipation was not fulfilled. Miss Tse felt disgusted after many

The element of communication was not fulfilled. The manager did not ask Miss Tse

basically a form of greenwashing and that sustainable development was a joke.
Hmmm . . . . Please comment on that assertion. In the process, discuss the big idea of
sustainable development, and more generally the concept of sustainability as applied
to individual businesses. For that matter, what is a sustainable enterprise? Can
being sustainable be good for business? Sustainability has achieved a more
ecological tone in the past few decades in terms of a business model, but it originally
derives from the concept that a business is successful due to the interconnected areas
of economics, culture and ecology. Sustainability is now becoming a somewhat fad
and thus it is understandable that it could be misconstrued by some as a form of
greenwashing . Greenwashing is the idea that a company markets their green or
environmentally friendly changes in policy and values, despite no actual concrete
changes in these areas, for example some argue that Fiji Water greenwasher in terms
of their marketing as an environmentally friendly water company despite their little
effort to actually go carbon neutral. Many companies are seeing the
Fritz Ranch Case Study
The Fritz Ranch is in Potter Valley, California. The ranch has been in the family
since 1898. The land owned by the Fritz family runs 4,129 acres. The Fritz Ranch
has been a family run operation for 118 years. The cow calf operation was set up in
1898 by Anthony J. Fritz with 2 cows and has been expanding slowly over the
years. The Fritz Ranch decided to start moving towards an organic cow calf
operation in 2005. This would allow them to reduce the number of cows on the ranch
to take care of, but increase the profit they made.
The Fritz Ranch runs an organic cow calf operation that runs on an 800 acre of their
land (Harper et al, 2). The operation produces, slaughters, packages and markets a
final beef product during an 18 month cycle (Harper et al, 1). The cows are usually

This means the operation is selling to a niche market. The ranch can increase the
price they sell at compared to other cow calf operations. Since many consumers are
not completely informed about the differences between organic and
conventionally raised beef, the demand for organically raised beef has increase.
Since the Fritz Ranch is a small cow calf operation, they mostly do business in the
Potter Valley area. Most their final product goes to the local retailers in the area. If
the price of beef in the United States increases or decreases, then this will affect the
supply of beef of the Fritz Ranch. Global changes in the in the beef industry will not
affect the ranch that much, since most of their business is local. Change of policies
about organic cattle farms could have a significant impact on the profit of the ranch.
Depending on the changes made to organic compliance polices, the Fritz Ranch may
profit or shutdown. Since the Fritz Ranch is a small time operation, any change in
policy would significantly change how the operation
Modernism In Ars Poetica, By Archibald Macleish
Ars Poetica , written by Archibald MacLeish, is a Modernist poem that, through
careful sensory images, provides guidelines and clear examples of the true form of
poetry, and in effect, the poem reveals how life should be lived. Ars Poetica is a
beacon poem of the Imagist era, yet, at the same time, breaks many Modernist
traditions. Similes are utilized throughout the poem to provide examples of how a
poem should be brought into existence and evoke instantaneous feelings. Ars Poetica
breaks the cardinal sin of Imagist poetry, wordiness , when it uses repetition to bring
across, surprisingly, the core idea of Imagism. This ingenious contrast and
contradiction within the poem, presented through imagery, is yet another angle used
by MacLeish in bringing across his poems ultimate meaning. Poems should be living
entities, and the very way a poem lives is the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The second stanza both opens and closes with the rising of the moon. Nature is quite
the firm underlying theme of imagery in the poem s first two stanzas. Poems should
be written in such a manner that they, like the twigs and like the moss , are another
aspect of the natural world, in that poetry must not be forced onto a page, but rather
it must appear on the page freely, naturally allowing it to then leave the page.
McLeish is also explaining that poems should obtain nature s intrinsic beauty that no
words can describe, hence the phrase from the first stanza ...as wordless/As the flight
of birds . The theme of nature continues into the third and final stanza; however not as
directly, yet nature s elusiveness in the third stanza is how McLeish manages to teach
the ultimate principle of life.

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Animal Stereotypes
The animal commercial elicits viewers pity and sympathy because abused animals
are exhibited. Three legged dogs, blind cats, and caged animals are shown in the
commercial to convince viewers about how much the animals have suffered. This
emotional appeal would convince viewers to donate money in order to save the
animals, since the money would be used to rescue more abused animals. Because
the ad generates pity for the animals, it is effective in persuading the viewers to
donate to the cause. The Mad Men clip depicts the promotion of a product, the

to improve their learning and skills. The Dream Act also gives opportunity to work

This is not true. While America s culture may be a weird combination it is what
makes our country very unique. What makes our country beautiful is many
immigrants who live in our country and who are proud to be a citizen or about to
become one. The Dream Act allows these immigrants to settle comfortably so they
are able to have rights as we do. Joining our military and armed forces is a big
thing. I believe the immigrants who make this decision show that they are loyal
and to be citizens. Those who work hard to become highly educated so they can
make an impact are even better. Not only school attendance improves, jobs will be
more appreciated to those who have that high education degree. These immigrants
have brought their culture to the US and in one way or another; they ve made a
change in the country, whether through economy, education, work, or the military
force (Joan G, 2011, para.1). Joan G also discusses, because immigrants continue to
move to the US and because without them we would be a completely different
country, immigration needs to be addressed through a comprehensible immigration
reform soon (2011, para.1). This reform will reflect on our youth in the most
positive way. It will give them opportunities like they would not believe. There are
always tools and resources available for those who are diverse learners. Their
reflection is our future generation that can
Society Expectations In Society
From the moment we are born , our genders have giving others a certain
expectation from each and every one of us . Women are usually expected to look
to know how to cook and clean , to have children and stay home to take care of
them they are to aspire to be a perfect wife for their future husband . Men are expect
to take care of their family by bringing a good amount of money homeeach day and
with that pay the bills . Even though most of us probably don t see things like this ,
maybe some of our family members still do and they go by these false perceptions
that society has put on all of us since the day we are born . I know that my family
does and maybe yours does too , speaking from experience I know how tiring it is to
hear the same things being repeated to you almost your whole life or doing things
you just don t wantto do. Many children are raised in a household where they are
taught to follow these expectations created by society . Including myself , I have
always been told there is a certain expectation from me as a women that I should get
used to cleaning the house and cooking a meal because if I cant t do those tasks , no
man will want to be with me . Which I find infuriating , i should not be expected to
take a care of another who can take care of themselves and if I were to , it would be
my choice not because i am expected to do so , due to my gender. That doesn t go for
just women, but men too. It s not fair that men are expected to pay for the bills , rent

Types Of Contingencies, Designing A Contingency, And
Owner...
According to Gunhan and Arditi (2007), there were three types of contingencies,
namely designer s contingency, contractor s contingency, and owner s contingency.
They claimed that the best method to predict contingency was to use previous
experiences. They mentioned that a detailed study of four factors, namely site
conditions, schedule constraints, project scope, and constructability issues could play
an important role either in preventing the CO or reducing the chances of needing a
big contingency money. Smith et al. (1999) stated that the wise decision on the
amount of contingency used while bidding could have effects on whether wining of
the contract. They interviewed 12 contractors on the contingency calculation method
and found that among these contractors, nobody was aware of any kind of estimation
method for the contingency amount. Whenever, these contractors used contingency,
they simply followed the traditional approach of adding some percentages to the
base cost as contingencies. Mac and Picken (2000) conducted a study on two types of
projects, namely estimating using risk analysis (ERA) and non ERA projects. They
made comparison between 45 ERA projects with 287 non ERA projects and found
that ERA method helped to reduce the unnecessary risk allowances in projects.
According to the authors, Hong Kong government was implementing this ERA
technique in public construction projects. In the ERA method, they described that the

Sexual Risk-Taking Behavior
The first risk factor is contextual factor, such as socioeconomic status and poverty,
family and peer factors. The study showed that the percentage of sexually active
young adolescents is higher in low income areas of inner cities (Morrison Beedy
others, 2013). A recent study revealed that neighborhood poverty concentrations
predicted 15 to 17 year old girls and boys sexual initiation (Cubbin others, 2010).
Children from low income families are more likely to fall into the bad habits because
they are lack of discipline from parents who are busy making a live. The second one
is familyfactors. The family connectedness and parent adolescent communication
about sexuality can predict the sexual outcome. A study shows that sexual risk taking
behavior was more likely to occur in girls living in single parent homes (Hipwell
others, 2011).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The third one is the peer and school factors. A recent study found that adolescents
who associated with more deviant peers in early adolescence were likely to have
more sexual partners at age 16 (Lansford others, 2010). It is easier for adolescence
to learn bad behaviors from peers, along with they are at the age with lower self
control. School connectedness and better academic achievement are both protective
factor in keeping adolescence from early sexual initiation. The fourth factors are
cognitive and personality factors. A study showed that the attention problems and
high rates of aggressive disruptive behavior at school entry increased the risk of
multiple problem behaviors in middle school, which in turn was linked to early
initiation of sexual activity (Schofi eld others,

For the duration of the course I worked on Hungry Slugs on congruence with CARe.

closer to the first meeting. I ve also developed a list of the on campus organizations

workshops I want to move towards throughout the year. I now have a better
understanding of the grant writing process and have the practice to begin drafting for

creatures of the Earth; Asian elephants, the big cats of Africa, and of course the
adorable monkeys, apes, and chimpanzees. Capitalizing on the public s love for
these animals, entrepreneurs and business moguls have captured some of these
creatures and allowed people to buy an up close encounter with the wild beasts of
the world. Some have even trained these beasts to perform tricks for the pleasure of

The Van Was No Longer A Toy

while I get the toy. Fast forward, later that even, it was time for the children to do
their homework. My oldest son, Alento asked for the keys, to get his pencil, that
he dropped in the trunk. I told him to borrow a pencil from somebody, to do his
homework. All while I wasn t using the trunk, nobody ever said anything about it!
For some reason, it seemed like, every since Brianna s toy was tossed in the trunk,
everybody had a reason to go back there. All of a sudden, they wanted to keep their
backpacks in the trunk, like their friends did. I had to explain to them, that their
friends had to keep their bags in the trunk because their families had cars. They
didn t have room in a car, like we had in the van. That s when I knew that the van
was no longer a good hiding place. That s when I decided to get my snacks in,
another way. I started sneaking to fast food restaurants. I d often go to a restaurant
to order ice cream and chocolate chip cookies, or ice cream and apple pie. I d
sometimes order two pies. Sneaking to the restaurant was like going on a
vacation. I was able to peacefully eat my desserts, with no interruptions. It was a

day. Sometimes when I went, I d enjoy it so much, that I d lose track of time.
Whenever that happened, I d always be at risk of getting a speeding ticket
Wayne State Essay
Introduction Arriving to campus on time has usually been an issue for commuting
Canadian students. This is not only a problem for them, but Wayne State is also
affected in the process. With students arriving late, there would be missed lectures
and barely any work done. In turn, Wayne State s reputation as a school is affected
negatively as these commuters would start considering switching to other schools. In
fact, some high school graduates from Canada would not even think about attending
classes at Wayne State due to its lack of an uncomplicated transportation system. The
main purpose of this report is to help Wayne State figure out a way to implement an
alternative means of transportation to the current one these students are using, which
is using two buses. Currently, using the tunnel and city buses causes unnecessary
delays for the students and makes them arrive to class either really late or the minute
it starts. By making transportation easier for them, it would. However, Wayne State
must decide on the method of transportation they could use in order to help their
Canadian students. The proposed solutions in this document was developed from
information obtained via research, such as, but not limited to, student surveying.

highly unlikely that Wayne State would be able to implement this system because

this because other good schools have done it, such as Oklahoma State University and

The Nazca Lines
The Nazca Lines are an ancient mystery that have dumbfounded researchers for
decades. Located in Nazca Valley in Peru, very little evidentially supported
information is known about anything in regards to the Lines. Their purpose is
unclear and the topic for ongoing debate, and the people who actually drew the Lines
are just as mysterious as their creation. The following discussion will highlight the
purposes of the Nazca Linesin three main theories supported by archaeological and
historical evidence. These range from the NazcaLines being used as a astronomy
structure, or for agricultural and irrigation purposes, through to suggestion that the
lines were created for extraterrestrials.

for high yield underground wells. According to this theory, where there are puquios

agricultural purposes or as a consumable for populated areas (Yirka, 2016).

Where there were alluvial gravels, high yield wells and/or puquios ... these
subterranean water sources seemed to be marked by geoglyphs. (Proulx, 1998)
Further thinking suggests that the animal geoglyphs may also be symbols for
rainwater. This is consistent with archaeological findings at other ancient Peruvian
sites (History.com Staff, 2017). The use of the Nazca Lines is most likely related to
the transportation of water in one of the world s most arid regions for agriculture
and also as a marking system for this sophisticated example of hydraulic
The Dangers Of Texting And Car Driving
When a cell phone goes off at an event that is meant to be silent, everybody looks
and gives an inside look at that person, but at least our lives are not endangered.
While we are on the road, careless cellphone users are more than annoying, they are
putting our lives at risk! Most of us have seen some people behind the wheel of a
car driving as if they are drunk, when really they are texting... They re putting our
lives at risk. We all have witnessed distracted drivers that can t drive between the
lines or even run off the road. There has been many laws that has been passed that
prohibits texting and driving, but they all seem to be ignored by many people. A
number of bills to regulate use of cellphones on the road have been introduced in
state legislatures, and the time has come to push for their passage. Regulation is
needed because drivers using phones are seriously impaired and because laws on
negligent and careless driving are not sufficient to punish offenders. No one can
deny that cell phones have caused traffic deaths and injuries. Cell phones were
implicated in three fatal accidents in November 1999 alone. Early in November, two
year old Morgan Pena was killed by a driver distracted by his cell phone. Morgan s
mom, Patti Pena, reports that the driver ran a stop sign at 45 mph, broadsided my
vehicle and killed Morgan as she sat in her car seat. A week later, corrections officer
Shannon Smith, who was guarding prisoners by the side of the road, was killed by a
woman
The Case Of The 183rd Aviation Company
We joined the 183rd Aviation Company in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, which was
just starting up. We had no idea how long we were to be there, so we asked for on
post quarters. The housing office assigned us a three bedroom apartment that was
about 1200 square feet. It had a tiny kitchen, living room, and dining area. If you
needed anything, you went to the quartermaster and got it, from blinds to stoppers,
to light bulbs. It had a large, shared back yard and a washer dryer. Post housing
included all utilities. Sarah decided to work so I bought a firsthand, yet inexpensive
gold Chevrolet V 8 wagon with automatic transmission. It had no options except a
radio no power steering, no power brakes, and no air conditioning. They hired... Show

Apparently, his boss thought he was weak also and fired him after four months
due to our low aircraft availability. I got a little annoyed the General removed my
amiable commander so quickly. Captain Jesse Wheeler was the maintenance
officer and from what I now realize, it should have been him. I knew Jess and liked
him, so I called to ask what the problem was. We had a frank discussion, and he
said: Wait right there, I m coming to talk to you . He was upset with what he took
was blaming him for the commander s relief. He arrived, and we had an active
discussion, but it peaked my interest in maintenance.
Major Luck took command, and he was much more dynamic. Still, I was surprised
the typical operational pilots who didn t have a job like mine; they just called in
to ask if they had a mission that day and if not, they just stayed home. Maintenance
was improved, but it still was nothing to write home about. We learned that we
would be training about a year, and transferring the entire unit to Vietnam. About
three months before deploying to Vietnam, I traveled to Washington to request the
Aircraft Officer s Maintenance Course (AMOC). I met the detailer and asked him
what the chances were to get AMOC. He reviewed my record and said: Well you
have a fine record, let me see what we can do . He left the room and when he came
back ten minutes later he said: You ve got it; here are your orders to report to Fort

Innovation is the development of a certain value that meets a new need of a customer.
Innovative organizations have the license to explore new ideas and commercialize
these ideas quickly and effectively. One extraordinary example of the failure to
innovate was one of the largest DVD rental companies, Blockbuster. With a huge high
street presence and intense customer loyalty, Blockbuster really was a household
name. The company commanded enormous resources at its peak and were primed to
lead the market with an innovative digital offering. By failing to innovate with their
digital, the business, it s high rents and overheads started to lose ground to DVD
postal services and early stage streaming services that were coming to market, for
example LoveFilm. To compound their mistake, due to the market position
Blockbuster had the opportunity to purchase the fledgling company Netflix, a
relatively new business offering a postal service. Netflix would sell 49%

Crafting a comprehensive essay requires a deep understanding of the subject matter, critical thinking skills, and the ability to articulate thoughts coherently. One challenge lies in striking the right balance between personal experiences and general observations. A successful essay should not only delve into personal anecdotes but also incorporate broader perspectives to resonate with a diverse audience. • 2. Short Essay The pouring rain was falling hard and fast like a speeding steam train, accompanied by a thick mix of fog and smoke that blocked the sun more than 200 feet away. The path we were traveling on was blocked by fresh and rotting bodies, enormous puddles from the days of rain, hiding the massive amounts of shrapnel whizzing through the thick fog, smoke and the mud too. I turned and looked at how my fellow soldiers were holding up. On my left was Arthur, the youngest solider in our squad. He looked like he was on the verge of a mental breakdown, one most common after everything he s been through, he was so terrified you could see the tears rolling down his mud covered face. Jared! I yelled out. He jumped and pointed his gun in every direction. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What was that? Tony fearfully said whilst pointing his gun in front of him. The pouring rain started to get worse as a roar of thunder could be heard for miles. Then, all of a sudden a BANG! A flash of lightning lit up the whole trench. I was expecting to see the other end of the trench filled with angry Turks, but fortunately for us there was only one figure lying at the end. Relief came over everyone. The figure lying at the end started shouting and screaming the same thing over and over again. Yaraliyim lГјtfen yardД±m et! Yaraliyim lГјtfen yardД±m et! No one knew what he was saying, we didn t speak Turkish. Turn him around so we can see him! I yelled. Tony and Jared ran over to the man lying on the ground and turned him round. Once they got a good look at him they both quickly let go of him. His skin was melting and he was missing limbs, sitting there helpless. He couldn t even move himself around. Tony quickly became very green and walked as far away as he could. I felt myself becoming a little queasy looking at this poor man, I ve seen a lot in my time but this was something else. We heard a voice near the entrance of the trench. Burada! AdamД± kurtarmalД±yД±z! one man yelled to another, it was Turkish soldiers coming back to try save him. Get out NOW! I commanded. The other men all started to run out of the trench as Tony reached the exit he yelled back to me What are you doing let s go! Just go I have a plan! I yelled back. I

  • 5. The Romantic Era The Romantic Era was one of the most artistically influential eras in recent history. Artists were fueled by their inner romantic and creative emotions rather than the more sinister tormented geniuses of the past. Their works were full of drama, love and death. The performing arts in particular were flourishing; balletwas truly taking off. The first pointe shoeswere introduced in a performance of La Sylphides, shorter tutus and partnering were becoming the norm. But in particular, it was the era that brought about one of the most well known ballets of all time, Giselle. There are few eras with as distinct an artistic evolution as that of the Romantic Era. The style of this time developed between 1775 and 1850. Romanticism, as it was called, first came to be in England and Germany: then it spread into post revolutionary France and North America. The romantics preferred sentimental feelings to more somber reasons for creative genius. Although they were exceptionally conservative in that era, the artists of the Romantic era created pieces that have never been rivaled. The Romantic Era was a time of artistic abundance. The invention of pointe work lead to dancers shortening their skirts, so as to better display the footwork, and be more easily lifted by partners. This dress could have been considered scandalous for the time, but it was accepted by the art form, as it truly allowed the dancers to develop. Although the dancers of the Romantic Era were not as technically

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Humane Society conducted a study in 2009 and found some of the negative side effects on marine mammals in captivity. In the wild dolphin and whales can spend up to 80% of their time in the ocean depths and the remaining 20% of their time at the oceans surface (Marine). Because of the shallow and small tanks they spend more time on the surface causing skin problems. The stories are both written by Kate Chopin, a female author. The period in which these stories were written gave impact on other female writers to produce stories too. The literary devices Chopin uses in both these stories show how educated female writers were at the time. The way the author, Kate Chopin, uses many literary devices in her works, The Story of an Hour and A Pair of Silk Stockings , such as location, imagery and characterization. FIrst, Chopin uses location in both of her stories. In The Story of an Hour the location of the short storyis in Mrs. Mallards home. This means that there must be a problem solving mechanism that seeks to conclude on the expected outcomes. As such, critical thinking is tied around finding solutions to a problem. It is important to note that there is a bias towards the end result to determine whether critical thinking was employed. This makes sense because failing to find a solution to a problem cannot be classified as critical thinking. As Steven Johnson said in Where Good Ideas Come from, it is important to incorporate critical thinking in a problem solving process to ensure that the desired outcome is achieved (Johnson, 2010). Discuss The Controls Over The Royal Prerogative The Royal Prerogative can be deemed as a difficult concept to define as unlike other countries, the UK s constitution is uncodified, where there is no single legal document which sets out the fundamental laws outlining how the state works. Therefore, the definition is open to interpretation, which is illustrated through Dicey s and Blackstone s explanations. William Blackstone, a renowned judge, offered the interpretation that the prerogative is a power that; the king enjoys alone, in contradistinction to others, and not to those which he enjoys in common with any of his subjects. However, a broader definition is offered by A.V. Dicey, an eminent constitutional scholar, who states; the prerogative appears to be both historically and as a matter of actual fact, nothing else than the residue of arbitrary authority [..] left in the hands of the Crown. Hence, through these contrasting views, it highlights how not having any written framework leaves a scope for the Executive, involving the Prime Minister and his ministers, to abuse the Prerogative Powers.

  • 17. The Vikings And The Vikings In modern society, the Vikings are seen to have been bloodthirsty savages and are often portrayed in cinema as such. They are usually portrayed wielding axes and wearing horned helmets, destroying everything and anyone in sight. The truth is that the archaeological and historical records can only reveal so much about the Viking conquerors of England. They did not wear horned helmets and they left behind beautiful trinkets just as the Romans did hundreds of years before. Cinema likes to portray Vikings as bloodthirsty savages because it makes for a good story, but they also like the hero to always be victorious. What is left of the archaeological and historical records show that the Vikings were no worse than the Romans or any other conquering army in Britain. The Vikings were a conquering nation like the Romans who had ruled Britain many years before. Rome conquered the native English, forced them to live under Roman rule, and resurrected a wall to keep out the natives who refused to submit. The brutality of Rome was known even before Viking raids started devastating England. Bede even wrote about the Romans fighting the Gauls and stated that Constantine did more harm than good to the Commonwealth (Bede: Book 1, Ch. 11). The difference is in the way the two groups were viewed by the people living in England. The English praised the Romans and embraced them as part of their heritage and even contributed their first success against the Angles to Ambrosius Aurelianus, a

John Arthur presented a moderate view, more in line with our current behavior, that recognizes an individual s entitlement to resources as an excuse against any moral requirement to give them away. I will briefly present these entitlements, and explain why they can t justify our refusal to help and aid in famine relief. Entitlements of Rights: We are not obligated to give away our body parts in order to save others, this is heroism and we are obliged to it .Our rights to our bodies weight against whatever duty to help. Accordingly, strangers have only negative rights which are rights against our interference and they don t have the rights to receive some benefits. (831) I am sure, most of the people, including me , agree that the first part of his argument is plausible since it s difficult to decide to give one s kidney even to our loved ones, mind you a stranger. However, this is not the case with famine relief or helping the poor people since nobody is required to take such an action. The things we have to sacrifice in order to prevent starvation and to help the poor do not jeopardize our health or our well being like donating a kidney. I don t think that anybody can argue that giving 10, 20, or even 1000 dollars a month put us in any kind of risk or can be morally significant if compared to giving away our kidney! Arthur didn t give this comparison any importance since he wanted only to prove our rights to our possessions; and he

This cruel punishment was done by the white witch because she wanted the honors of killing her enemy all to herself instead of having any of her monsters doing it for her, because by doing it herself she got the feeling and true significance of knowing that he was really dead. In his article, (Champy, 2008) emphasizes several principles he discovered while researching organizations for his book, the one that resonates with both my personal and professional life is to be completely open and transparent. He further goes on to outline the needs of a culture that embraces and values transparency. Indeed, many experts and professionals agree that corporate transparency and efficient resource allocationare closely related. The transparency, or essentially the clear picture, as it relates to resource allocation allows organizations to regularly direct their assets in the right directions, making it easier for them to be allocated in more productive and useful areas of the organization. The rationale for this strategy is fairly simple; having a clear picture means additional assurance for the investing parties Francis et al., (2009). Using the roadmaps created from the strategic plan, smart leaders easily figure out the risks involved, and take necessary measures to eliminate or ameliorate them. Similarly, organizational transparency on a whole is equally important for all the organization s stakeholders, especially potential investors. This allows investors to easily weigh their options by evaluating any critical information, and also the fact that the doings of the organizations are there to be seen by everyone

  • 28. Modernism In Ars Poetica, By Archibald Macleish Ars Poetica , written by Archibald MacLeish, is a Modernist poem that, through careful sensory images, provides guidelines and clear examples of the true form of poetry, and in effect, the poem reveals how life should be lived. Ars Poetica is a beacon poem of the Imagist era, yet, at the same time, breaks many Modernist traditions. Similes are utilized throughout the poem to provide examples of how a poem should be brought into existence and evoke instantaneous feelings. Ars Poetica breaks the cardinal sin of Imagist poetry, wordiness , when it uses repetition to bring across, surprisingly, the core idea of Imagism. This ingenious contrast and contradiction within the poem, presented through imagery, is yet another angle used by MacLeish in bringing across his poems ultimate meaning. While America s culture may be a weird combination it is what makes our country very unique. What makes our country beautiful is many immigrants who live in our country and who are proud to be a citizen or about to become one. The Dream Act allows these immigrants to settle comfortably so they are able to have rights as we do. Joining our military and armed forces is a big thing. I believe the immigrants who make this decision show that they are loyal and to be citizens. Those who work hard to become highly educated so they can make an impact are even better. Not only school attendance improves, jobs will be more appreciated to those who have that high education degree. These immigrants have brought their culture to the US and in one way or another; they ve made a change in the country, whether through economy, education, work, or the military force (Joan G, 2011, para.1). Joan G also discusses, because immigrants continue to move to the US and because without them we would be a completely different country, immigration needs to be addressed through a comprehensible immigration reform soon (2011, para.1). This reform will reflect on our youth in the most positive way. It will give them opportunities like they would not believe. There are always tools and resources available for those who are diverse learners. Their reflection is our future generation that can

Men are expect to take care of their family by bringing a good amount of money homeeach day and with that pay the bills . Including myself , I have always been told there is a certain expectation from me as a women that I should get used to cleaning the house and cooking a meal because if I cant t do those tasks , no man will want to be with me . A quote by Loren Eisley The Brown Wasps. In life, as humans, we live many different memories, and whether they re sad or happy ones, we will always remember them. But no matter what, there is always going to be one memory that impacted our lives so much that we will find ourselves forever clinging on to the memory of that one event. According to Gunhan and Arditi (2007), there were three types of contingencies, namely designer s contingency, contractor s contingency, and owner s contingency. They claimed that the best method to predict contingency was to use previous experiences. They mentioned that a detailed study of four factors, namely site conditions, schedule constraints, project scope, and constructability issues could play an important role either in preventing the CO or reducing the chances of needing a big contingency money. Smith et al. (1999) stated that the wise decision on the amount of contingency used while bidding could have effects on whether wining of the contract. They interviewed 12 contractors on the contingency calculation method and found that among these contractors, nobody was aware of any kind of estimation method for the contingency amount. Whenever, these contractors used contingency, they simply followed the traditional approach of adding some percentages to the base cost as contingencies. Mac and Picken (2000) conducted a study on two types of projects, namely estimating using risk analysis (ERA) and non ERA projects. They made comparison between 45 ERA projects with 287 non ERA projects and found that ERA method helped to reduce the unnecessary risk allowances in projects. According to the authors, Hong Kong government was implementing this ERA technique in public construction projects. In the ERA method, they described that the cost determined for fixed and variable

The study showed that the percentage of sexually active young adolescents is higher in low income areas of inner cities (Morrison Beedy others, 2013). A recent study revealed that neighborhood poverty concentrations predicted 15 to 17 year old girls and boys sexual initiation (Cubbin others, 2010). Children from low income families are more likely to fall into the bad habits because they are lack of discipline from parents who are busy making a live. The second one is familyfactors. School connectedness and better academic achievement are both protective factor in keeping adolescence from early sexual initiation. The fourth factors are cognitive and personality factors. A study showed that the attention problems and high rates of aggressive disruptive behavior at school entry increased the risk of multiple problem behaviors in middle school, which in turn was linked to early initiation of sexual activity (Schofi eld others,

This is not only a problem for them, but Wayne State is also affected in the process. With students arriving late, there would be missed lectures and barely any work done. In turn, Wayne State s reputation as a school is affected negatively as these commuters would start considering switching to other schools. In fact, some high school graduates from Canada would not even think about attending classes at Wayne State due to its lack of an uncomplicated transportation system. The main purpose of this report is to help Wayne State figure out a way to implement an alternative means of transportation to the current one these students are using, which is using two buses. Currently, using the tunnel and city buses causes unnecessary delays for the students and makes them arrive to class either really late or the minute it starts. By making transportation easier for them, it would. However, Wayne State must decide on the method of transportation they could use in order to help their Canadian students. The following discussion will highlight the purposes of the Nazca Linesin three main theories supported by archaeological and historical evidence. This interpretation suggests that the Nazca people used the lines as surface maps for high yield underground wells. According to this theory, where there are puquios (spiral holes in the ground lined with stones), they serve as part of a vast hydraulic system that transported volumes of water to canals where it was needed for agricultural purposes or as a consumable for populated areas (Yirka, 2016). Image 2: An example of a puquio near the Nazca Lines, Peru. (Yirka, 2016) The report from a Nazca Lines researcher who investigated the lines in the field describes the water infrastructure as: ... where there were puquios there were clusters of high yield wells that were reliable sources of water throughout the year ... Where there were alluvial gravels, high yield wells and/or puquios ... these subterranean water sources seemed to be marked by geoglyphs. (Proulx, 1998) Further thinking suggests that the animal geoglyphs may also be symbols for rainwater. This is consistent with archaeological findings at other ancient Peruvian sites (History.com Staff, 2017). The use of the Nazca Lines is most likely related to the transportation of water in one of the world s most arid regions for agriculture and also as a marking system for this sophisticated example of hydraulic

A number of bills to regulate use of cellphones on the road have been introduced in state legislatures, and the time has come to push for their passage. Regulation is needed because drivers using phones are seriously impaired and because laws on negligent and careless driving are not sufficient to punish offenders.
