1. Essay Writing At University Level
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essay Writing at University Level" poses a unique set of
challenges that demands a multifaceted approach. First and foremost, delving into this topic
requires a comprehensive understanding of the expectations and standards prevalent in the
academic landscape. This encompasses not only a mastery of the subject matter but also a keen
awareness of the specific guidelines and conventions set by the educational institution.
One of the primary difficulties lies in navigating the intricate balance between creativity and
academic rigor. While the essay should showcase original thought and critical analysis, it must
also adhere to the formal structures and citation styles commonly accepted in university settings.
Striking this equilibrium is no small feat, as it requires a writer to seamlessly integrate their
insights while respecting the established norms of scholarly communication.
Moreover, the challenge extends to the depth of research needed to substantiate arguments and
claims. University-level essays demand a thorough exploration of relevant literature, theories,
and empirical evidence. The ability to synthesize information from diverse sources and present a
cohesive narrative is a skill that necessitates time, dedication, and an acute sense of discernment.
In addition to intellectual demands, time management becomes a crucial factor in the essay-
writing process. University students often juggle multiple responsibilities, from coursework to
extracurricular activities, and finding the time to conduct thorough research, organize thoughts,
and refine the essay can be daunting.
The task is further complicated by the need for clarity and conciseness. Crafting a compelling
argument while adhering to word limits necessitates a refined writing style. Striving for clarity
without sacrificing depth is a nuanced art that demands careful consideration of language,
structure, and the overall flow of ideas.
In conclusion, composing an essay on "Essay Writing at University Level" is a formidable
undertaking. It requires a blend of intellectual prowess, research acumen, time management
skills, and a mastery of the conventions governing academic discourse. Successfully meeting
these challenges, however, contributes not only to academic success but also to the development
of critical thinking and communication skills essential for the broader academic journey.

2. Sherlock Holmes Vs. Sherlock
Since the creation of Sherlock Holmes and his confidante John Watson in the late
18th century the pair have not only collected a cult following throughout the
generations but they are also remarked as the epitome of competent police work. The
characters Holmes and Watson have been recreated and re imagined countless times
by various different authors. John and Sherlock have on some occasion been
imagined as women, serial killers and sometimes even zombies. Holmes and Watson
have become the staple of what it means to be not only capable detectives but
Englishmen. Sherlock s ability to be unapologetically accurate and calculating paired
with John Watson s comforting and sensitive nature create the archetype that is often
depicted in their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This arrangement works for the both of them, as John gets to write about the
intricacy that is the brain and life of Sherlock Holmes, while Holmes has someone to
stoke his ego and make him feel intelligent. However, the dynamic that they ve
created between them is destroyed in The Sign of Four when Mary Morstan makes
her first appearance. Prior to her introduction, John Watson s time and focus was
entirely with Sherlock and their cases, but being with Mary means moving on from
his wild days with Sherlock and instead into the life that he was groomed to live as a
married man in the domestic realm.
Doyle s take on the relationship between John and Mary begin and end on two
drastically different airs. When Morstan is first introduced she comes to Sherlock
and John in need of help finding her father who she has unsuccessfully been
searching for. John describes Mary as a blonde young lady, small, dainty, well
gloved, and dressed in the most perfect taste...her face had neither regularity of
feature nor beauty of complexion, but her expression was sweet and amiable, and
he large blue eyes were singularly spiritual and sympathetic (Doyle). John is
immediately taken with her. He describes with her with words like small , dainty ,
perfect and sweet . To John, Mary represents not only a woman he can see himself
settling down with but she is the perfect vision of the proper Englishwoman, which
goes well with his
3. Racial Tension Among The Black And White Societies
Recently in class we observed the controversial film A Raisin in the Sun which
initially was a play written by Lorraine Hansberry in the late 1950s. Lorraine was
the youngest of her siblings and grew up in rural Chicago back during the era of
segregation. It was evident that her hard trials growing up directly correlated with
this film as the setting of the plot occurred in her hometown, Chicago, right before
the Civil Rights Movement began. This explicit film vividly conveyed many
important issues that were ongoing in American history which saw the nation go
from economic prosperity to racial tension and turmoil briefly after World War II.
Through Hansberry s production of this play the viewer is given an honest
depiction of the black family and contrary to popular belief, the black community of
that time was not comedic or flattering which we sometimes see in today s society.
A Raisin in the Sun successfully specifies the racial tension amongst the black and
white societies and strongly illustrates the difficulty in which the main characters
had in trying to respond to racial oppression situations throughout the film. The
Younger family which Hansberry focuses on is a black family struggling with
poverty, yet dreaming of possessing a lifestyle far more promising. This covers two
of the main themes of the film which I believe are the concepts of dreams and
money. Walter Younger, who is Lena s only son serves both as an antagonist and
protagonist in the film due to his

5. Realism In America
Coping in America with Realism
Through the years 1860 to 1900, the Realism literary movement made its way to
America. This movement was a way to entertain the American people from the harsh
circumstances they were facing. Realism became a movement that helped the
American people cope with their issues by using real life circumstances they could
relate to.
Realism began in Europe in the 1840s and did not make its way to America until
after the Civil War. American Realism and European Realism shared common goals,
such as focusing on the common person and contradicting society s beliefs, but
American Realism branched off with ideas of its own (Fluck). William Dean Howells
is credited for starting the Realism trend in America. He was the editor in chief ...

This novel focused on unfortunate characters who were trying to tolerate society s
expectations while finding themselves in the world (James). The Adventures of
Huckleberry Finn took place in Missouri, where many farmers owned slaves to
cultivate their crops. Farmers from the lower South made deals with those of the
upper South in hopes to buy their slaves. Many of the slave owners in the upper
South could not resist the offers that were made (Moss). Huckleberry Finn was
one of the main characters in the novel. Huck ran away from his intoxicated,
unloving father by faking his own death. On his journey, Huck met Miss Watson s
slave named Jim, who was escaping in fear of being sold to the deep South. In the
novel, realism is displayed by Huck s actions and his colloquialisms. Twain uses
the derogatory term, nigger , often in his writing. This word referred to colored
people at the time period because many white people were racist towards people of
color. The white people believed colored people should not have the same rights as
they do. When Huck uses the term nigger , he does not mean any harm. Being from
the South, he picked up the habit of using this word from the influences around him;
this adds to the realistic effect of the time period. Also, Huck and Jim bonded with
each other and created a friendship and, throughout the novel, Jim became the father
figure that Huck never had. This created problems
6. Terrorism In Canada Essay
The state of today s national security is not the same as it was as recent as forty
years ago. Increased deadly and violent acts of terrorism have caused a great amount
of fear, lack of confidence in national security, and loss of hope within a nation. A
notable act of terrorism towards a nation was the September 11 attacksthat happened
in the United States. Though the attacks directly affected the United States, it
indirectly had an impact on Canada, as the neighbouring country, and a majority of
the world. It led many countries to take a step forward and to introduce laws that
prevented any acts of terrorismtowards their country. On October 15, 2001, the
Liberal party introduced the Canadian Anti Terrorism Act , or Bill C 36, to Parliament

Though the bill was controversial because people felt it violated the Charter of
Rights and Freedom, the bill did not receive much attention from the public after a
while, because there were no terrorist acts directed to Canada. However, in 2014,
an act of terrorism took place within the country by a Canadian citizen. Michael
Zehaf Bibeau, a Canadian citizen of Libyan decent, armed himself with a rifle and
murdered a soldier who was peacefully standing guard at the National War
Memorial in Ottawa. Bibeau proceeded to drive up to the House of Commons,
making his way into the Centre Block of Parliament where a shooting war
occurred with the security of the House before he was eventually gunned down
(Whitaker 2015). This act of violence left the nation in a state of shock and fear. It
prompted the government to take action and present a strong notion that can
reassure Canadians safety. In June of 2015, the Canadian Senate passed the Anti
Terrorism Act, 2015 , legally referred to as Bill C 51 into law. Bill C 51 potentially
violates the rights of Canadians and most commonly targets a certain group of
minorities in the nation. Reg Whitaker argues that this Bill is likely the most
horrible and unsafe piece of national security law this country has ever seen as this
policy is something that no one would ever predict as a law (Whitaker,
7. The Fall of Russia Essay
After the collapse of the Soviet Union there were many different problems facing the
new Russian government. Through the use of reforms many of these issues were
cured but not overnight. Boris Yeltsin and his Prime Minister Yegor Gaidar
implemented several policies while the economy was not moving well. Then
Vladimir Putinwould carry on reforms while making new ones or changing existing
policies. How would these amendments affect the economy after the collapse of the
Communist regime?
In 1992, Yeltsin launched an economic reform program developed by Acting Prime
Minister Yegor Gaidar. The program also known as shock therapy brought
fundamental changes in the economy. There was little doubt that it was causing
economic misery, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The temporary truce broke, however, broke down and Yeltsin declared emergency
presidential rule; more than half but less than two thirds the majority needed in the
Supreme Soviet voted to impeach Yeltsin. Yeltsin called together a constitutional
convention to write a new constitution. He banned eight political parties, fired several
high ranking government officials who had failed to support him, and suspended
Russia s regional and town councils, many of which had sided with his opponents
(Kort 421). Therefore the Supreme Soviet had refused to support the new
constitution, Yeltsin then issued a decree dissolving both the Supreme Soviet and the
Congress of People s Deputies. Furthermore, neither system wanted to view or listen
to Yeltsin and his new constitution. They gathered in the parliamentary building,
voted to dispose of Yeltsin. Then Yeltsin a few weeks later had the Russian white
house blasted with artillery.
Privatization
The government also launched a major program of privatization of state property. By
1994, the voucher privatization program had completed its first phase, more than 70
percent of industry, representing the workforce and production, had been privatized,
although workers and managers owned most of these enterprises, many of which
have not still been restructured to compete in market conditions. Under the program,
every citizen of Russia would be issued

American Frank Gotch marked the high point and the end of pro wrestling as a real

Gotch used a crippling ankle lock (the same that The Worlds Most Dangerous Man

foul, saying Gotch had oiled his body before the match. Before the rematch, Gotch
paid a

according to the present day definition, but a dangerous wrestler who could cripple
people in a heartbeat with illegal moves. When the German, Ed Santell, wrestled
Hakinschmit in a friendly training match, Santell ravaged his opponent s knee with
the ankle lock. When
Hakinschmit got in the ring that night, he had no chance of winning. When it was

popularity declined. People tired of going to a match at 7:00 and leaving at 12:00.

9. Neoliberalism Is A Political Project For Restore Class Power
Neoliberalism has a tendency to increase social inequality and this tendency is no
accident. The rich thorough military force political maneuvering and the
construction of mass consent decimate social infrastructure and break trade unions
and social movements in order to cement class power. Proof that neoliberalism is
more about class power than economic efficiency can be found in the numbers. The
global picture looks, at least on the surface, to be very bleak. The poorest 40
percent of the world s population accounts for 5 percent of global income. The
richest 20 percent accounts for three quarters of world income . Income inequality
increased by 32% between 1960 and 2005 in the UK and in the US it increased by
23% . Neoliberal governance often departs from the theoretical template, providing
further proof for Harvey s thesis that neoliberalism is a political project to restore
class power. These pragmatic departures prove very beneficial to the rich and in turn
result in increased inequality and poverty. Harvey argues that neoliberal governance
has two fundamental biases which show how favouring class power trumps the
theoretical framework. Firstly, in practice neoliberal governance always favours
fostering good investment over good business. Second, neoliberal states typically
favour the integrity of the financial system and the solvency of financial institutions
over the well being of the population or environmental quality . The reliance
neoliberalism places on
10. Unique Characteristics of Soviet Montage
Soviet Montage
Unique Characteristics of Soviet Montage
Unlike Montage where by a combination series of short shots are edited into a
sequence to condense space, time, and information, Soviet Montage on the other
hand is a style of filmmaking that is evolved to immerse the audience in a story
and disguise technique was turned upside down in order to create the opposite
emotional effect to bring the audience to the edge of their seat, and in the case of
the Odessa Steps sequence, to push the viewer towards a feeling of vertigo. In a
simpler form, Soviet Montage combination series of short shots are edited into a
sequence to create symbolic meaning.

A nondiegetic element exists outside the story world. There is no connection between
the slaughters of the animal. The use of such nondiegetic shots was a total direct
portrayal of Eisenstein s theory on intellectual montage creating effects through
conflict such as the juxtaposing of shots that have no direct connection as all.
It is also shown in a film called The Godfather, where killing scene was shown
during the baptism of Michael s nephew. The whole scene was to show the murder
baptize Michael into a life of crime. Another example is from a film called
Apocalypse Now, juxtaposing shot was used in the execution of Colonel Kurtz.
Another example of contemporary films adopting intellectual montage would be In
Boogie Nights, Dirk Diggler announces at the conclusion of filming a pornographic
scene that he can do it again . There is then a quick cut to a champagne bottle
uncorking at a post shoot party. This particular scene represents both ejaculation and
Dirk s celebratory initiation into the world of porn.
In a nutshell, Souviet Montage involves editing as a much more pronounced feature
than in German Expressionism. It explores the ways in which each shot gained
intensified meaning from its relationship to the shots deliberately placed before and
after it. For Eisenstein it is in the tension (or conflict) between shots that meaning is
created. Montage cinema demands that audiences continuously search for the

parking stall was dry, which indicated a vehicle had just moved from the location
since it had been snowing throughout the night.
Hughes called Blahak for me, who was at work at the time of the theft. Blahak told

16. The Minimum Drinking Age Of South Dakota Vs. Dole
In 1984, the American government raised the minimum national drinking age
from 18 to 21 as a method to reduce the number of car crashes and deaths caused by
underage drunk drivers. The government placed the minimum drinking age law in
the Federal Aid Highway Act, and by doing that states were not technically
required to keep their minimum drinking age at 21. Given the fact that the law was
a part of the Highway Act, if a state wanted to establish a different minimum
drinking age, they would be required to surrender ten percent of their highway
funds (Messamore). In 1987, after the act was passed, South Dakota challenged the
law by changing their minimum drinking age to 19 and were brought to court in the
case South Dakota vs. Dole. The court used the 27th amendment, which limits
government spending power, to achieve their federal objectives. In a 7 2 decision, it
was decided that Congress was able to use financial penalties on states that did not
comply with the law (South Dakota v. Dole). Different federal, state and local laws

In the novel Fifth Business , the author Robertson Davies is successfully able to
relate both the themes of magic and religion throughout. He achieves this relationship
between the themes primarily through the characters and their actions. Dunstan

illustrate the close relationship between magic and religion.
One of the characters that Davies uses to relate the theme of magic and religion is

Along with the idea of magic, Eisengrim?s show Soiree of Illusions incorporated
themes of myth including Dream of Midas, Vision of Dr. Faustand the Brazen Head

later subject of a false autobiography written by Dunstan where Eisengrim is
portrayed as a wonderful and mysterious person like a saint is. Here the relationship
between magic and religion is evident.
Mary Dempster, who is named after a saint can be considered to be a saint in this
novel. She is the mother of a famous magician and the wife of a priest. This freely
displays the relationship between magic and religion. According to Dunstan, she is
considered a fool saint because she performed three miracles, but without being
aware of it. The first involved the rebirth of Surgeoner by an act of charity. The
second was the revival of Willie from the dead and the third was her miraculous
appearance to Dunstan during the war at Passchendaele.
Liselotte Vitzliputzli otherwise known as Lisel is introduced midway through the
novel, but still plays an important element in the theme of magic and religion. The
theme of religion is demonstrated when she asks Dunstan ??do you know what my
name really means?? Lisel?s last name is the demons name in the play The Vision of

Technology―a science that enables the ability to control the natural resources that
would benefit man s needs. The complex word originated from techne that was
derived from the fundamental idea of the Greek philosopher, Aristotle, which means,

use natural products in order to create an unnatural man made resource (Schummer).
Even though technology is unnatural, it has been a prominent innovation that
promotes the development of society. With this growing trend of this progressing
science, civilization is corrupted with technology as it made into man s major source
of life while nature s mysteries are left unexplored. That is not to say that technology

Overview of the Business:
ABC Learning Ltd was an Australian provider of early child hood education
services, founded in Queensland in 1988, that through its 18 centres was the largest
single operator of early childhood education services in Australia by 1997. Led by
founder Eddy Groves, ABC Learning Ltd continued to grow, through the opening of

Critics are focused on the mess of the books for ABC Learning Centres Ltd,
specifically the complex way in which revenue and profits were accounted for,
particularly the way compensation payments from centre developers were counted as

misrepresented and projected a positive image of the financials, until Auditors Ernst

All of these issues are summed up in Thompsons (2008) assertion that Groves was the

fortunes around.

William Faulkner s short story, Barn Burning, the character Abner Snopes, who is
Sarty s father as well as a main character of the story, stands out the most compared to
other characters because of Faulkner s description with a sense of irony and critic.
Faulkner presents multifaceted characteristics in Abner Snopes that makes the
readers think beyond the view of the narrator based on logics and circumstances in
Abner s conditions. The setting of Barn Burningis the post Civil War South, the
South of Reconstruction, in which a defeated and in many ways humiliated
society is trying to hold its own against the Northern victor. It still maintains in
private the social hierarchy that characterized the region in its pre war phase. By
knowing the setting of the story, readers can actually understand the social
condition at that period of time. In the story, Abner Snopes symbolizes a
superiority figure. When Abner are in the court house with Sarty and Mr. Harris
for suspecting Abe as Mr. Harris s barn burner, he shows no fear at all as if he is
not the criminal. He also spoke for the first time, his voice cold and harsh, level,
without emphasis: I aim to. I don t figure to stay in a country among people who . .

the judge calls Sarty to be a witness, Abner uses his right as superiority figure to

23. Estimation of Ascorbic Acid
Title: Estimation of Ascorbic acid
Aim:To determine the ascorbic acid content of canned apple and orange juice To
determine the volume of canned juice necessary to provide 75mg of Vitamin C
Introduction:
For the estimation of ascorbic acid, the method used involved the titration of the
ascorbic acid, in the presence of a redox indicator 2,6 dichlorophenol indophenol
(DCPIP) which acts as both an oxidant so as to oxidise the ascorbic acid to
dehydroascorbic acid, and it acts as an indicator to determine the end point of the
titration. The samples of ascorbic acid used have to be made acidic first by adding
metaphosphoric acid to remove proteins and ferric ions which would precipitate.

1mL of apple juice solution contains 1.755 x 10 6/52.6 = 3.3 x 10 8 moles of acetic

Mass of 3.3 x 10 8 moles of ascorbic acid = 3.3 x 10 8 x 176g = 5.808 x 10 6g =

Volume of apple juice necessary to provide 75mg of vitamin C= (75/5.808 x 10 3) x

Discussion:
In this experiment the ascorbic acid content of canned orange juice and apple juice
were determined via titrimetric analysis. The indicator used was 2,6 dichlorophenol
indophenol which also acts as an oxidising agent to oxidise the ascorbic acid. Since
ascorbic acid is a potent reducing agent, it would become oxidised very quickly, so to
reduce the chances of missing the end point of the titration, the samples used were
diluted with distilled water.
Before the samples were titrated they were acidified with glacial acetic acid since
they would be heavily diluted. Also 5% metaphosphoric acid was added to prevent
the precipitation of proteins and ferric ions which would interfere with the end point
of the titration. The results obtained show that it takes 8.5L of canned orange juice
and 12.9L of canned apple juice to provide the

Francois Boucher painted The Toilet of Venus. This painting was custom made for
Madame de Pompadour as part of the decoration for her cabinet de toilette at the

Although surfaces like linoleum, wooden panel, paper, slate, pressed wood, and
cardboard have been used, the most popular surface since the 16th century has been
canvas, although many artists used panel through the 17th century and beyond. Panel
is more expensive, heavier, harder to transport, and prone to warp or split in poor
conditions. For fine detail, however, the absolute solidity of a wooden panel gives an
advantage.
The artist might sketch an outline of their subject prior to applying pigment to the
surface. Pigment may be any number of natural substances with color, such as
sulphur for yellow or cobalt for blue. The pigment is mixed with oil, usually linseed
oil but other oils may be used as well. The various oils dry differently, creating
assorted effects.
Traditionally, artists mixed their own paints from raw pigments they often ground
themselves and medium. This made portability difficult and kept most painting
activities confined to the studio. This changed in the late 1800s, when oil paint in
tubes became widely available. Artists could mix colors quickly and easily, which
enabled, for the first time, relatively convenient plein air (outdoor) painting (a
common approach in French Impressionism).
The artist most often uses a brush to apply the paint. Brushes are made from a
variety of fibers to create different effects.

25. Why Do Celebrities Have Private Lives
Celebrities should have private life.
According to Oxford Dictionary (2014), a celebrity is a person who is famous
especially in the entertainment or sports world. The fame of celebrities make
public to be interested in their private lives. These public demands encourages the
paparazzi, the freelance photographer, to target celebrities in order to take their
photos (Nordhaus 1999, p.285). Nowadays, it clearly seems that celebrities have
problems with their private lives. Their personal details flooded the cover page of
daily periodicals such as Huffington Post or OK! magazine. Celebrities always wish
that they are blessed with privacy at least once in a blue moon. Unfortunately, the
society enjoys those nude photos and private life details as entertainment. Although
critics believe that the celebrities should lose their right to privacy because
celebrities are known as public figures (Hodges 1994, p.207) and their life should
be open to everyone, it is obvious that celebrities should still be entitled to privacy
because human beings deserve privacy by the assurance of the law, there are also

29. Chemical Reactions And Chemical Reaction Types Essay
Abstract
This paper is about chemical reactions and chemical reaction types. All the data
gathered was from conducting multiple experiments. Each experiment was performed
carefully and analyzed to obtain the necessary information for the paper. That
information included the four signs of a chemical change, the rnx type, and more.
Introduction
A chemical reaction is a process in which elements or compounds react with one
another to create new or different substances. There are two parts to a reaction.
Those two parts are the products and the reactants. The reactants are the chemicals
or chemical compounds that are going through the reaction itself. The products are
chemical elements or chemical compounds that are produced as a result of the
reactant or reactants reacting. There are four key indications that there s a chemical
reaction is taking place. Those four signs include a change in color and/or odor,
formation of a precipitate or a gas, the release or absorption of energy (light, heat,
electricity), and if the reaction is irreversible. Along with this information, there are
ways to predict the products of a reaction.
When dealing with chemical reaction there are equations called chemical equations.
Chemical equations give the reactants and products of a chemical reaction. When
given just the reactants of an equation, you can predict the products by balancing
each side of the equation. The products and reactions are separated by an rnx arrow

why these changes take place in adolescents. Due to vast improvements in brain
imaging technologies like MRI, we can now answer question like these that have
been around for decades. What is taking place in the brainof adolescents that adjusts
their ability to think and perceive the world?
One of the brain regions that changes most dramatically during adolescence is the

proportionally much larger in humans than any other animal. According to

The medial prefrontal cortex is a central region of the prefrontal cortex. In fact, this
part of the brain is more active in adolescents than other age groups, which is an
important change to observe. The activity of the medial prefrontal cortex decreases
through adolescence, and we hypothesize that is because adults apply a different
mental approach, a different cognitive strategy, to make social decisions.
So imagine you re a participant in one of our tests, says Blakemore. You come in
and see this computerized task. In it, there are a set of shelves and behind them is
a guy. But the guy can only see some of the objects on the shelves because some are
occluded with a sort of gray piece of wood. In her test, you have to move objects
around, but a man who can not see all of the objects is telling you which and how
to move the objects. So if the guy says, move the top truck left, you would
instinctively reach for the white truck, but then you would realize that he can t see it
and you would move the blue truck that he can see. Now, believe it or not, healthy
adults actually make errors around 50 percent of the time. According to her results,
young children incorrectly move the objects when faced with the social challenge
about 80 percent of the time. This number decreases to about 50 percent in
adulthood. However, when there is no social challenge, they make errors around 20
percent of the time which decreases to about 8 percent in late adolescence, which then

35. Analyzing Two Theories of Business Power
Two Theories of Business Power Introduction The Dominance and the Pluralist
Theories led to the development of socialism and liberalism respectively. The two
theories had notable differences, almost contrasting one another. For us to analyze
and contrast the two theories, it is notable to understand the fundamental perceptions
of Dominance and the Pluralism. Connolly and Connolly (2010) argue that we can
define the dominance theory as the theory of Marxist, advanced by Karl Max. This
theory has been clearly outlined in the manifesto of the communist. The theory of
dominance argues that social divisions based on class result in ruling class
community, who control all the production means. Marxism notes that if the
proletariat is abused, it favors the interests of the bourgeoisie. This is commonly
referred to as the elite theory drawn from Marxist because it suggests a
disproportionate control over a privileged minority. Nevertheless, in this case, the
control appears to be over the state mechanisms. Therefore, we can believe that the
elites only have the ability to influence but not to control the production means.
Perhaps, this could be an underlying reason why advocates of this theory are more
contented with its continued application compared to other colleagues of Marxist
(Tang, 2008). Pluralism is fundamentally a theory favoring equal distribution of
power amongst people instead of one individual holding all the power. This theory
supports having multiple institutions

For instance, the Nazis treat the Jews like animals, no respect is given to them,
they are constantly mocked and they are punished for no reason. In particular
when Elie loses his name and becomes a digit he feels extremely dehumanized, I
became A 7713. From then on, I had no other name. (49). Once he lost his name he
feels worthless and non existent, he is nothing but a number to the Nazis.
Furthermore, all of the Jews are tattooed with their new identity, from that point
they became inferior to the Nazis, something so simple as a name forced the Jews
into feeling less than human. Next, the Jews experience massive changes to their
bodies due to starvation when Elie is released he is hospitalized One day when I
was able to get up, I decided to look at myself in the mirror on the opposite wall. I
had not seen myself since the ghetto. From the depths of the mirror, a corpse was
contemplating me. The look in his eyes as he gazed at me has never left me. (115).
Elie s self esteem is so impacted that it changed him mentally, he feels as if the old
Elie is dead and he is a whole new person. The struggle he faces in Auschwitz
change him so much he no longer recognizes himself, when he looks at himself in
the mirror he sees a corpse, not just physically but also dead inside. To sum up, Elie
is traumatized by the horrendous things the Nazis make him go through, his self
esteem is so impacted that he transforms into a totally different
39. The Ethics Of The And Public And Private Industry
External hacks can cause a business or government millions of dollars as well as
the loss of vast amounts of personal data. What is not as prevalent in the news is
how these internal hackers often use an insider s credentials to gain access to a
computer network. Equally as troubling is there are businesses that disregard the
likelihood of a hacker coming from within their own organization. Cybersecurity
should begin internally, however, as in the case of AT T, one of world s largest
communications companies (AT T Company Information Key Facts, n.d.), human
beings tend to be the greatest security vulnerability to the public and private industry.
In 1875, Alexander Graham Bellwhose invention efforts for the talking telegraph
were financed by Gardiner Hubbard and Thomas Sanders, invented what is known
today as the . These three men for Bell TelephoneCompany to exploit the telephone.
With that, the first telephone switchboard, Bell Telephone began business in New
Haven Connecticut in 1878 (A Brief History: Origins, n.d.). Bell Telephone
Company became the American Telephone and Telegraph (AT T) Company in 1885
when they were commissioned to form a long distance telephone network. Over
roughly the next 131 years, AT T was able to successfully operate most efficiently as
a monopoly providing universal service (A Brief History: Origins, n.d.). They were
involved in managing the manufacturing of telephone equipment for countries around
the globe. However, by
40. Tiny House Movement
Buying a home is one of the biggest milestones a person can accomplish, and in the
American society, bigger is usually better. With larger homes, there is a certain sense
of prestige and wealth that comes along with them. Unfortunately, what home buyers
do not tend to know, is just how bad that home is to not only their health, but to the
environment and their wallets as well. That is why, over these past few years, there
has been a significant shift to what is known as the Tiny HouseMovement. However,
before we embark on the tale that is the Tiny House Movement, we first must
understand the traditional home. As of 2015, the average home in America was
about 2,600 square feet, and would cost generally anywhere between one third to a
half of any given pay. At those numbers, it takes on average fifteen years to pay off
the home which leaves about 76% of Americans living paycheck to paycheck just
keep a roof over their heads (The Tiny Life).
While it easy to only focus on the cost of the home, it is incredibly important to
consider just want that house is doing to the environment. If we take a trip back to
1981, the average home used about 183 million British thermal units, also known as
BTU. By 2012, the number rose to 188.7 million BTUs (DeSilver). As of ... Show

Tiny houses average out to be about 2.4 by 5 meters, or is generally bellow 500 to
400 square feet. They retain all the same living spaces that a traditional home has,
such a living area, kitchen, sleeping loft, kitchen and bathroom that are configured to
be easily placed on trailer, allowing them to be movable. A great benefit that comes
with mobility is that one does not have to own the land in which it sits upon, cutting
one cost right out of the picture (The Tiny
41. Steven D. Levitt And Stephen J. Dubner s Freakonomics
In Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner s Freakonomics, they use unconventional
wisdom to explain certain events. They use very solid data in order to support their
conclusions about certain events. However, some of their conclusions suffer from
errors in reasoning, or rather, fallacies. Although they have done several different
types of fallacies, the main one they ve done is the either or choice. The either or
choice is when a piece of evidence that states something is either one way or another
and that no other possible outcome exists. This is shown, and most apparent, very
early on in the introduction with their claim that abortion was the main cause for
crime decline that took place in the 1990s. This is shown when the author describes
42. House Of The Red Fish Analysis
Do you find it hard to when looking for the similarities and differences of an object.
Well you can use the Double Bubble Map method to compare two subjects, there
are three sides. The similarities, and the different things about the subjects. In this
case, the subjects were Tomi and Keet, the main characters of House of The Red
Fish . One of the many differences between Tomi and Keet is that Tomi is
determined to get his father s fishing sampan to the surface, but Keet is adamant
about keeping it at the bottom of the canal where it lays. The Double Bubble Map
is convenient because it keeps your notes organized, you can also virtually compare
any two things, and lastly it s a fun different way to taking dull notes. Firstly, this
strategy is convenient because of how organized it is. Even though there are a
jumble of circles and words, the adjacent lines connecting one circle to the next keep
the space tidy and easy to find. In addition, when comparing Tomi and Keet, there are
many differences, but just as many similarities between the two. Using the Double
Bubble method, you can easily decipher the things they have in common, and the
things that contrast. For example, both characters share the trait of being stubborn,
because Tomi will not give up raising his father s sampan, the Taiyo Maru, but Keet
on the other hand will do anything to keep the sampan on the ocean floor.... Show

You could compare dogs to cats, or sharks to lions. There is an endless array of
things to compare and contrast, and you will always find differences and
similarities. Like Tomi, he is Japanese and considered a traitor, but Keet is white
and acts as though he is superior to Tomi because of his race. Or you could
compare Oiji Chan to Mr. Wilson. Oiji Chan is a Japanese immigrant and was taken
to a makeshift camp on Sand Island. Mr.Wilson is a BMTC Officer and is an

43. Why Is Leonardo Da Vinci Considered A True Renaissance
Man
He was a genius. Leonardo Da Vinci, who was born in Vinci on April 15, 1452, was
so brilliant, he stood out in a sea of other talented scholars. As a young man, he
trained to become a world renowned painter. Constantly pursuing knowledge, his
determination made him an excellent scientist. Combining his strengths in arts and
sciences naturally birthed in him a prolific inventor. Leonardo was a true Renaissance
man.
Although he was an incredibly proficient at many things, Leonardo is most
remembered for being a famous painter. At fourteen years old, he traveled to Florence
to apprentice under Verrocchio, who was an elite artist, to study many mediums of
art. Verrocchio quickly noticed his young apprentice s talent. After thirteen years
44. Jane Addams in Action Essay
Action is inherent in the tasks of a social activist. Ideas alone are not enough.
Though the development of philosophies and manifestos is the basis for every social
movement and every stride toward social justice, without social action and the social
activist, little can ever be accomplished. The great social activist must, by definition,
be the great social action taker. Jane Addamswas the epitome of such an action taker.
Addams herself believed that ideas were not enough. She was not satisfied to live a
life of ideological morality. Instead, she felt that true moral living could only be
accomplished through action ( Dream 84). Embodying the very vision she stood for,
Addams put her convictions into action. Over the course of 46... Show more content

In addition, John H. Addams was a personal acquaintance of Abraham Lincoln,
whom young Jane Addams idolized ( Dream 7). It is from her father that Addams
seems to have developed a sense that civic responsibility is innate in both the
democratic and Christian mission. Upon his death in 1881, when Addams was
only 20 years old, she wrote of him, He was the uncompromising enemy of wrong
and of wrong doing. He was a leader as well as a safe and fearless advocate in right
things in public life (Davis 26). Addams life was also shaped by her womanhood.
As a member of one of the first generations of women to attend college, Addams
was confused and frustrated by the possible paths she could take in life. She was
highly educated and privileged but lacked any useful enterprise to pursue (Brown
213). Additionally, she believed that, as a woman, she had a responsibility to her
nurturing instinct (Davis 212). Though Addams would be a passionate supporter of
the women s suffrage movement, she was not a feminist as they are understood
today. Certainly, she believed that women should be the equals of men, but she
believed that their value to society came specifically from the ways in which they
were innately different from men. In her mind, the nature of women predisposed
them to greater awareness of and action against suffering, greater desire for social
justice, and greater advocates for peace. These influences, along with literary figures
such as George Eliot,
45. Role Of The Family Nurse Practitioner
The Role of the Family Nurse Practitioner in Advanced Nursing Practice Although
advanced nursing practice is a broad field with several roles defined within, the
author of this essay has identified the role of the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) as
the focus for this assignment. The FNP role was selected as it is the specialty track in
which the author is furthering his professional nursing education. The Family Nurse
Practitioneris a Registered Nurse (RN) who possesses advanced clinical training,
skills, and competencies acquired through the completion of a Master s or Doctoral
nursing degree in order to provide family centered primary care to individuals across
the lifespan. (American Association of Nurse Practitioners [AANP], 2015). Family
Nurse Practitioners practice independently in several states, although some states
require that a collaborative agreement with a physicianbe in place. The scope of
practice of the FNP mirrors that of a Family Physician and the education and
training of the FNP overlaps into the specialty area of Family Medicine in that
conducting physical examinations, diagnosing, ordering and interpreting tests, as
well as prescribing medications are intricate parts of their responsibilities; much like
a primary care physician s. Because of the more holistic nature of the nursing
profession, there are some unique characteristics that differentiate an FNP from other
primary care providers. There is a marked focus on the well being of the
46. Analysis Of Friedman s Capitalism And Freedom
Econ 160 Term Paper Part 1 As Milton Friedman once said, Freedom is a rare and
delicate plant. Our minds tell us and history confirms that the great threat to
freedom is the concentration of power. Government is necessary to preserve our
freedom, it is an instrument through which we can exercise our freedom; yet by
concentrating power and political hands, it is also a threat to freedom. Friedman s
Capitalism and Freedom takes us into the mind of an economic genius and shows
us his beliefs in a free market and the threat it presents to a dictatorship. Friedman,
clearly a supporter of the free market, gives examples to show how a free market
can aid a society in striving for success, becoming more dominant, and becoming
more powerful. Though, at times he does show how a free market has
disadvantages and he makes us aware as to how it can aid people in gaining
individualism, knowledge, and overall improving a society. A free market is one
that the price of a good or service is determined by supply and demand, in theory,
rather than by government regulation. Milton s thoughts and theory is that through
a robust free market with political freedom, economic freedom will follow.
Showing how economic freedom is a crucial toward the success of political
freedom, Friedman s theory of a free market and the Do Nothing Principle are major
themes throughout his book. A dictatorship is a form of government ruled by a
single party or a single party of dictators. In this form of
47. Homeless Students Drop Out Of School
Many children who are homeless struggle staying in school because they frequently
move. As a result, it is hard for them to stay on grade level with their studies and
build healthy relationships with their peers and teachers. Many families are not
placed in shelters close to their children s schools. While homeless children are
legally permitted to attend their former school, the long commute is frequently too
much of an inconvenience.
Homeless children transfer schools so frequently and therefore struggle to keep up.
Consequently, many of them drop out of school. This poses a unique challenge
because the students who need to do well the most are unable to do so simply as a
result of their condition. If these students do not continue their
48. English And Social Studies Class
Everyone s eyes was on the white board as my teacher began writing what we all
dreaded. The fourth hour bell had just rung in my 10th grade honors English class,
and I was just as nervous as my classmates as I read out the words on the board. It
was time for our In class essay test , which our teacher announced would be given out
randomly this week. The notion of writingessays for the class never made me
worried, but the fact that this one would be written in class and completely graded
on grammar usage concerned me, along with my classmates. My teacher fixed his
glasses and began setting the timer, after handing out the news story that we were
tasked to write about. I took a deep breath and began writing, hoping for the best. A
week after that hour of painstaking writing, I was surprised to find that I got a
perfect score. That event first opened my eyes to the types of classes I shine in. I
predominantly succeed in English and social studies class. I attribute my success to
the nature of the classes, my study habits in those classes, my relationship with
teachers and students in the class, and, above all, my family pushing me along the
way. The first factor I noticed that helped me thrive in English and social studies
classes is how they are usually conducted. These types of classes are discussion
based. Along with being able to express your ideas freely, the classes also give
students a chance to reflect on what they learned through various writing
assignments. Also,

LABORATORY TESTING OF METHICILLIN RESISTANT
STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS 36.512 Medical Bacteriology INTRODUCTION
Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a major cause of hospital
acquired and life threatening infections. It has also emerged recently as a cause of
community acquired infections. MRSA strains were first detected shortly after the
introduction of methicillin in the early 1960s. Methicillin resistance in staphylococci
is mediated by an altered penicillin binding protein (PBP2a), which confers resistance
to beta lactam antibiotics and is encoded by the mecA gene on the mobile element,
staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec (SCCmec). There are a variety of methods

They are considered to be an important cornerstone in preventing the spread of
MRSA in health care settings. New PCR based high throughput typing methods
offer a rapid turnaround time, with lower costs and in many cases high
discriminatory power. However, these are very expensive and cannot be afforded
by all laboratories. Moreover, these require technical equipment limiting their use
only in developed centers. DISCUSSION Typing of MRSA is an essential
requirement to prevent its transmission and also to determine the precautionary
and preventive measures which needs to be taken. Raman spectroscopy
(SpectraCellRA) is a recently developed tool for bacterial typing. Recently, many
new technologies have been introduced into clinical microbiology laboratories for
the rapid identification of microorganisms such as matrix assisted laser desorption
ionization time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI TOFMS) which are aimed at
reducing the delay in providing useful information to the clinicians regarding
patient care. There is an alternative, cost effective approach which is the use of
chromogenic media for screening nasal specimens such as BBL CHROMagar
MRSA II (CMRSA II, BD), MRSASelect and Spectra MRSA which are used for the
qualitative detection of MRSA. These chromogenic media are very selective and
differential for MRSA. These media are used for the suppression of Gram negative
