Tax Benefits Of The Tax
Under the tax law, certain tax benefits can significantly reduce a taxpayer s regular tax amount. The
alternative minimum tax (AMT) applies to taxpayers with high income by setting a limit on those
benefits. It helps to ensure that those taxpayers pay at least a minimum amount of tax. The AMT is
the excess of the tentative minimum taxover the regular tax. Therefore, the AMT is owed only if the
tentative minimum tax is greater than the regular tax. The tentative minimum tax is figured
separately from the regular tax. In general, compute the tentative minimum tax by:
1.Computing taxable income eliminating or reducing certain exclusions and deductions, and taking
into account differences with respect to when certain items are taken into account in computing
regular taxable income and alternative minimum taxable income (AMTI)
2.Subtracting the AMT exemption amount
3.Multiplying the amount computed in (2) by the appropriate AMT tax rates
4.Subtracting the AMT foreign tax credit (IRS.gov, 2016) (p. 1)
The federal tax law sets the AMT exemption amounts and AMT tax rates. Taxpayers can use the
special capital gain rates in effect for the regular tax if they are lower than the AMT tax rates
that would otherwise apply. Some tax credits that reduce regular tax liability do not reduce AMT
tax liability. If a taxpayer is not liable for AMT this year, but he or she paid AMT in one or more
previous years, they may be eligible to take a special minimum tax credit against their

Women s Role Of Women In The Medieval Period
As many would believe, women were thought and viewed to be inferior to men throughout
history. Based on this, they were not seen as ones to take on the same important roles as men
would in their societies like political jobs, warfare, influencer and innovators, and scientists.
During the Medieval period, women rose and began defying the normal stereotypes, even more
than usual, and were recognized by their actions. One woman was Margaret of Anjou, the queen
consort of England. Margaret was the daughter of RenГ© of Anjou and the wife of Henry VI.
Her home country France was at war against England and she was offered to King Henry VI as a
peace treaty. Being a queen consort, she did not rule and was an asset to the king. When King
Henry suffered from an illness, Margaret believed she was the one who should temporarily rule in
his place. Unfortunately, title was given to the Duke of York. This occurrence caused a rivalry to
emerge between the House of Lancasterand the House of York; This was called the War of the Roses
as Lancaster wore red roses in battle and York wore white. The second woman is Lady Murasaki, a
daughter of Fujiwara family and a Japanese novelist in the Heian period. She was very intelligent
was a young girl and her father still allowed her to get an education despite it being unsuitable for
girls. After the death of her husband, she went to court and wrote in a diary about the life she has in
court and her thoughts. It is believed that Murasaki sensed that

Should Teeth Whitening Be Allowed In Salons
What is teeth whitening? Teeth whitening is the process of using bleach or other materials to make
the teeth appear whiter. The materials remove stains or other discoloration from the tooth surface.
The main concern of everyone, is should it be allowed outside of a dental office or not. There are
articles upon articles, debating whether teethwhitening should be allowed in salons or kiosks, and
dental offices. In my opinion, they shouldn t be allowed outside of the dental office, for a number
of reasons, which will later be explained. Since the 1990s, new technology has offered consumers
many options to brighten their smiles. There are many options to getting whiter teeth, however
some are safer than others. Mary Otto, author of Understanding... Show more content on

Salon bleaching could be labeled as unsanitary. We do not know about what level of sterilization
and disinfection is being done. You re dealing with something that is totally unregulated, Dr.
Leslie Seldin said. In the article, Tooth Whitening A Safe, Affordable Way to Improve Your
Smile, Improper fitting mouth trays may hold your jaws too far apart and cause potential jaw
problems. Improperly fitting mouth trays may also leak, causing possible gum irritation and less
effective bleaching. Dentists can also monitor the process of bleaching. They can vary the level of
bleach used to minimize or avert any type of discomfort. While in at OTC kit, you get a
concentrated amount of bleach, that can t be altered and most likely a one size fits all mouth tray.
The New Jersey Dental Association sued Beach Bum, due to alleging unfair competition and
accusing the tanning chain of practicing illegal dentistry. Some dentists were able to prevail, and
block salons from providing teeth whitening in 2009. Since the gel was applied in the store, it

Stereotypes In Stand And Deliver
The movie Stand and Deliver (1988) begins with a character driving in an urban neighborhood as an
introduction to the setting of the film. The various shots of the setting that are presented between
cuts to the streets and to the intrigued face of the protagonist, Jaime Escalante, help provide the
viewer context to this neighborhood s economic and cultural background. This movie directed by
Ramon Menendez dramatizes actual events into a movie with the idea of combating stereotypes
enforced upon low income Latinos and presenting a success story with the use of different Latino
characters with their own unique conflicts. Angel Guzman is a Chicano gang member that holds an
inner struggle between following the easy predetermined path that promises... Show more content

A study by Dr. Stacy L. Smith, Marc Choueiti, and Dr. Katherine Pieper at the University of
Southern California claims that Across 100 top grossing films of 2012 only 10.8% of speaking
characters are Black, 4.2% are Hispanic, 5% are Asian, and 3.6% are from other (or mixed race)
ethnicities. These figures are unfortunate because having multiple Latino roles in American films
is beneficial in representing a diverse Latino community which avoids the portrayal of a single
character as a token representative of an entire race. The movie Stand and Deliver was even added
to the Library of Congress National Film Registry which described it as one of the most popular of
a new wave of narrative feature films produced in the 1980s by Latino filmmakers. Therefore, the
images that this movie conveys continues to hold a great importance in the representation of
Latinos, particularly in the treatment of characters that could further promote stereotypes. There is
a slight danger in a movie that defines itself as an exception because the problem is not necessarily
the success aspect of the narrative, but its singularity of representation of Latino culture. The movie
is an important representation of Latinos in popular

The Causes Of The Industrial Strike In 1900 s Industrial
In Chicago, on May 4, 1886, a riot broke out between German born labor radicals and Chicago law
enforcement officers. The demonstration, organized to protest the killing of a striker by the
Chicago police the day before and for an eight hour workday, attracted about One thousand five
hundred protestors. However, when the riot began there were only approximately three hundred
protestors left due to rain. About half way through the rally, two hundred Chicago policemen
arrived to end the protest. The riot started when an unknown individual threw a bomb at the police
officers. The crowd of officers then opened fire on the protestors, killing over twelve and injuring
almost one hundred. About suspects were convicted and their sentences ranged from fifteen years
in prison to life in prison to execution. The events that took place in Chicago, on May 4, 1886 were
horrible, clearly demonstrating the importance of peacefully protesting and that the U.S.
government should not interfere with demonstrations such as this one.
The Homestead Strike was an industrial strike at the Carnegie Steel Company plant that occurred in
Homestead, Pennsylvania, on July 6, 1892. Many regard it as one of the most violent labor strikes
in United States History. The strike began when the manager of the plant, Henry Clay Frick, closed
the mill after the workers rejected his proposed twenty two percent wage cut. Frick hired
approximately three hundred men from the Pinkerton Defective Agency to guard the

Essay on Never Giving Up
It has been said that life can never be carried out and truly lived to its fullest unless there has
been some sort of suffering and pain. Mistakes are to be learned from, and a hard past can only
result in a stronger present. Though many might find themselves alone in their misery the truth
is they are not, everyone has struggles. We all have our ups and downs, but it is how we react to
them that truly matters. Life is life and no matter what, giving up on lifelong dreams and
aspirations because of a few bumps in the road should never be an option. It isn t where you
come from; it s where your going that counts, stated a very wise woman by the name of Ella
Fitzgerald. This may be hard to believe but even people with great success like... Show more content

Informative Speech On Lung Cancer
I believe there is hope even through the worst type of situations. Most people don t know it or
feel it, but hope is hiding somewhere near you begging to come out. In many situations, people
cannot find their hope, but I assure you it s there. Quite a while ago my grandma, my dad s
mom, was told something that no family wants to hear. My grandmother, Connie Brooks, was
diagnosed with cancer. Lung cancer that is. Her second time having lung cancer and her third
time having cancer in total. I was having an attitude with my mother before she told me what
was happening with grandma, and once she told me I was beyond devastated. Why should I be
so self centered and rude to my family when we re at a time of crisis? I knew my grandma had
smoked in the past and it was a stupid mistake, but why did cancer have to pick her? I knew my
grandma could put up a really good fight, but with only one lung could she survive? Yes, with her
past lung cancer she lost one of her lungs, but she has been living more carefully ever since.
Connie Brooks is a selfless, confident, strong woman, and cancer chose the wrong woman and

Two Reasons To Fear Grendel s Mother Analysis
Beowulf offers us two reasons to fear the Grendel s Mothers of the world. The first is the anger
of someone scorned and the second is the temptation of greatness in immorality. These two things
from the oldest work of literature in all of history should also be feared in reality as they both
wreak havoc where ever they preside.
I learned long ago that I was not perfect and that I would make copious amounts of mistakes in
my lifetime. I like to think that this knowledge has forced me to be responsible for my actions
though I am not sure that this is always true. Whether I hold firmly to this responsibility at all
times or not, I know that all actions have consequences and that they can be good or bad. I rather

While she can be the secret avenger of our actions, she can also be the thing that tempts us with
what we want most only to let it destroy us once we have it. Beowulf was tempted with fame and
glory and he gave in. He got what he wanted but at the price of his morality and self assurance. He
gave up these things that he thought he didn t need in exchange for his largest dreams. It was only
afterwards that he discovered that he lost more than he gained. But this fault is not particular to
Beowulf alone; it is something we are all afflicted with. There are Grendel s Mothers in all aspect
of life. They tempt us with things we want like money, success, and the favor of others. We trade
away the same things that Beowulf did to achieve what we want and more. The price varies but
the outcome is always the same: we realize that our priorities were out of order and must deal with
the consequences. I am not excluded from this. There have been times when I gave into temptation
because I thought the outcome would be better. Times when I traded my honesty to keep the favor
of others only to lose their trust in the

1.Two System Failures Responsible for Contributing to the Sentinel Event: Insufficient Drug

Multiple system failures contributed to the death of baby Miguel. One system failure responsible
was due to insufficient drug information. The insufficiency was due of the facility allowing a
pharmacist to prepare pediatric medications for a diagnosis that he or she lacked knowledge. Even

error at hand. Had the pharmacist been familiar with the treatment for congenital syphilis, they

Additionally, the facility should have a system in place that alerts the staff regarding high dosages.
One way to alert the pharmacist would be via a computerized system that monitors the dispensing of
all medications. The system should contain an up to date database for referencing medications.
Also, the computerized system should have parameters set for alerting pharmacy and nursing staff
for all high dosages. When taking cost into consideration, the facility might not have the
feasibility to implement an entire computerized dispensing system that provides dosage alerts and
cross check off of medications. To maintain patient safety with limited funds, the facility should
have remote access to a pediatric pharmacy where all pediatric medications can be cross checked
and verified. If the facility was unable to have a pediatric pharmacist on staff, the remote access
would provide a safety net for pediatric medication dispensing. In addition to the pharmacy staff
having access to a computerized system, the physician should as well. Had the physician had
computer access and been required to enter medication orders, the tenfold error could have been
noted and not reached baby Miguel.
B.Disciplines From Where the Insufficient Drug Information and Inconsistent Independent Double
Check System Emerged The corrective actions should emerge from the facility, the physician, the

La Boheme Analysis
One of the most frequently asked questions posed to a revival of a musical is in regards to its
current social relevance. Whether that is a fair question is a debate for another day. After
attending opening night of the 20th Anniversary tour of RENT at the Dr. Phillips Center For The
Performing Arts in Orlando, it is obvious from the sold out crowd and instant standing ovation that
Jonathan Larson s updated ode to La Boheme is perhaps more relevant now than ever. The death of
the show s creator/composer the night before the first Off Broadway preview is now part of

A Change In Theatre
Ever since the world was created, humans have tried to express themselves trough art. Painting,
sculpting, music, and, above everything, theatre. Even before they could speak properly ,
primitives use dance and small rituals as a way of enterteinment. However, now, in the higly
technology developed world we live, every day there are more various and modern options to do in
our free time but, at the same time all changes and becomes dull too fast. This puts theatrein a really
fragile position and makes us wonder if it will become out of style or if, on the contrary, as this
essay will proof, it will still be relevant and up to date for the next generations.
According to The Telegraph, Great BritainВґs theatre audiences decreased a 9 percent between
2010 and 2012, and the rates are only diminishing. This makes clear that the theatre as we know it,
is being less succesful. Nevertheless, this rates donВґt look after new ways of theatre. And, as the

Improving The Standard And Effectiveness Of Education
ABSTRACT
Over the years, educators have laid emphasis on understanding factors that contribute to improving
the standard and effectiveness of education in impoverished neighborhoods. A lot of studies have
aimed to ascertain the benefits that various safety network programs have for at risk children living
in poverty stricken areas of the country. This paper seeks to highlight the host of elements that have
a positive bearing on the academic outcome of children belonging to the poverty stricken counties
in the state of Ohio. The research will employ a qualitative method design and involve using semi
structured interviews, observations and archival data to explore the teaching methodologies and
administrative measures that play a role in improving the effectiveness of schools in areas affected
by poverty.
The paper is designed to provide insight regarding the adverse effects that poverty has on education
and what could be done to remedy the situation, by addressing three distinct research questions.
Firstly it asks the question about what factors have a detrimental impact on the educational outcome
of high poverty states in the country. Secondly it seeks to determine how such factors serve as
barriers in the way of development for children belonging to less affluent families. Lastly, the paper
looks into that question of what administrative measures can be taken in order to effect a positive
change in the educational outcomes of children belonging to less affluent counties in

because he is suffering from an Oedipal complex but also because he is far too sane or practical

The Celebrated Jumping Frog Of Calavers Country Summary
I chose the story of The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras Country by Mark Twain (1867).
This was a humorous story, it consisted of a story within a story. The main story was about a
frog. Simon Wheeler was the story teller, he told a tale about Jim Smiley who loved to make bets
to everything. Jim Smiley was crazy in making bet because he always won. But still he was
lucky, uncommon lucky; he most always come out winner (para. 4). Jim Smiley caught and
trained a frog for three months, so that he could make bets with others that his frog could jump.
One day, Smiley bet with a stranger, but the stranger cheated Smiley by filling quail shot into
Smiley s frog, as a result Smiley s frog was lost. Even Smiley discovered subsequently, the stranger
took the money and left. At that time, the narrator interrupted Wheeler and escaped. Actually,
narrator escaped from Wheeler s endless ramblings. I did not think that a continuation of the
history of the enterprising vagabond Jim Smiley would be likely to afford me much information
concerning the Rev. Leonida W. Smiley, and so I started away. (para. 22) In this humorous story,
Twain told a message that the educated narrator looked like more of a fool than even Smiley and

which project to implement that best supported their organizational goals. We will also use similar
techniques to create a simple strategic plan outline to be used to guide us on a personal project.
According to the simulation, All projects that an organization undertakes are linked to the
organization s strategic plan. This entails the development of a process by which projects are
selected based on their relevance to the strategic plan (Wideman, 1999). This of course is much

Who will do the work? Are there any building permits that are needed? What do you do with the
old fence marital? Are there any government programs that can be used to assist in paying for
this project? Which way is the smooth side of the fence going to face? Yes, there are a lot of
questions that must be answered and a great deal to think about so let s get started with the
obvious... talking to the neighbor. After doing some basic cost analysis, (cost of supplies,
workers vs. self instillation, and time) a tentative agreement was reached to share the cost and a
work assignment was reached. One member of this new team will price the materials, call for
building permit information, and inquire into pre packaged fence designs that may be at this
fledgling team s disposal. The other member of this team will inquire about government
programs that may be available, cost of workers, and old fence material disposal information.
Normally, when creating a project there is a structured formula that a project manager will use
through each stage of the project. From the project intention stage, to getting the project off the
ground, and eventually reviewing the final processes stage and making adjustments as needed
before stepping back to see the work that has been done. In our small project all of the steps may
not be necessary, but most will be utilized even in some small way. The process should go a bit like
this: The Project Initiation Stage is concerned with taking these

The Dark Knight Film Analysis
Burning. Massive flames. A dark shape emerges. Growing. Filling the space with blackness.
Blinding light, moving over the towers of a city. The light closes in on the buildings, consuming
them, consuming you. Can t escape, can t breathe, completely overwhelmed. When suddenly
you hear CUT! , and find yourself on a movie set, watching a scene that just get shot, back in the

of disbelief. The willingness to suspend one s critical facilities and believe the unbelievable.
This disbelief is not in used in film but in art as well. The scene described above is from a piece
called London s Burning by Chris Sheldrake, but you would also see some of the same aesthetics in
the opening title sequence of The Dark Knight. All art forms feed of each other and by using three
movies and their corresponding pieces of art, I will illustrate the influence that each of these
individual images had on their respective films. How art inspires cinema.
The Dark Knight was the second entry in The Dark Knight Trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan.

American Conquest Research Paper
According to the Anglo Saxon Chronicle on William I, the first Norman king was a very wise
and great man, and more honored and more powerful than any of his predecessors , but he also
caused castles to be built and oppressed the poor. 1 The portrait of William the Conqueror is
very conflicted, especially in this source since it was written from an Anglo Saxon perspective,
or, in other words, from the perspective of the loser side of the 1066 Hastings battle. If the
Norman Conquest had any impact on England, it can certainly be expressed in terms of changes in
the political balance of power. I will argue, however, that the Norman Conquest did not radically

Firstly, William brought new incomes with his new lands, even if it still seems less important to
the huge Angevin empire of Henry II, that also included Aquitaine, Maine and Anjou. There was
also a decrease in land value, especially in the North after their two revolts against the king, which
led to the systematical destruction of the countryside by William I, to make sure that no army
could ever be raised from here. However, William also had a positive impact on the English
economy, since he developped the trade with the Continent, expanded the cities and encouraged
urbanization and the settlement of Jews, who could lend with interest and thus trigger the
economic growth. William II continued his father work but apparently increased the taxes. Thus,
the Council, after William II s death, required that his brother, Henry I, abolish all the previous
taxes, fines, especially on marriage and inheritance. Thus, Henry promised that all fines and debts
which were owed to [his] brother [are] remit[ted]. 4 Once again however, Henry II is way more
striking in that matter. He invented two taxes, the scutage that allows a vassal to pay money to the
king instead on his military service, and the aid, a special tax for marriages and knighting
ceremonies. Thus, Henry II went even further and institutionalized the taxes that the Normans
previously unformely

Abortion And Birth Control Rights In The Catholic Church.
Abortion and Birth Control Rights in the Catholic Church In our modern world, the topics of
abortion rights and access to birth control seem to be at the top of the list for political strife and
conversation; being pro choice and pro life are labels thrown around between Republicans and
Democrats on the political platform. Despite the topics recent political trend due to our country s

Monumentally, the 1973 Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade made abortion legal. Despite its legal

A 54 year old Catholic woman stated in an interview conducted on the topic of the modernization
of the church insightfully noted that Vatican II allowed for practical changes, like music and
singing, and women allowed into upfront roles as readers, lectors, and Eucharistic ministers, as
well as altar servers in some places. Vatican II aimed to produce a different experience of the mass,
but also set out to reposition the church in a relative relationship with the modern world (Mathis).
With smaller scale changes occurring within the Roman Catholic Church, pro choice Catholics
hoped the Vatican II could also change its views on women s sexual health. Conversation about
abortion and birth control legitimately started within the Catholic Church for the first time in the
early 1960s prior to this era, such topics were not even murmured let alone acknowledged.
However, women vocalizing concerns about sexual wellbeing often poses a problem for the
modern religious woman: Catholic women whose feminist consciousness is raised have been
alienated from the Catholic hierarchy by few issues so much as by the abortion issue. Women are
finding it difficult to take a moral stance on something that is not only a religious problem, but
also a social one: Unlike men, who have always enjoyed virtually total control over their
participation in the reproductive process . . . women have never been able to freely determine

Cameron s Use Of Camera Images In Avatar
Photography and imagery has seemed to attempt to serve one main purpose: accuracy. When
people use photographs in most of today s society, it is to show factual evidence that their
arguments and story are true. Two early devices that have shaped the use of photography are the
camera obscura and the stereoscope. Both use the eyes to attempt to create accurate depictions of
the world around them, especially in trying to allow people to see the parts of the world that are
foreign to them. The stereoscope s more objective representation of the world over the camera
obscura is used in James Cameron s Avatar as representations of how civilized populations skew the

James Cameron uses the natural world and how it works as a symbol of the unknown savages
that were target of American and European imperialist conquests and other parts of the unknown,
uncivilized world. The American group of military and science believe they are getting a true
view of the indigenous people on Pandora, a totally new environment for them. While a lot of the
scientists go into the world of Pandora using the bodies of the Na vi, immersing themselves into
the world as if they were looking at it in a stereoscopic way, the human society remains in the
camera obscura way of viewing the world: misinterpreted with details missing and disconnected.
They rely on the methods of science and what they learned from history about different races to
gather a picture of what they think life on Pandora is. There is a difference between the outside
world and the inside laboratories that they observe from, creating a disconnect between the reality
and the representation. Much like the World Fairs or the colonial idea of savagery, the humans take
on a belief that they are getting a true representation of the world around them, but in reality, they
are missing vital pieces to the puzzle. The Na vi connect with the world in a much different manner.

The Yellow Wallpaper Patriarchal Analysis Essay
Throughout literary history, there have been prominent fictional and nonfictional narratives that not
only concentrate on various cultures, but also allow the writer to critique societal issues that cause
one or more of these cultures to come into conflict with one another. Regardless of race, creed or
any other defining factor, these issues allow readers to experience different cultures firsthand and,
at the same time, better understand what it means to be human. Over the course of this essay, I
intend to analyze the societal issues critiqued in Charlotte Perkins Gilmans The Yellow Wallpaper
while simultaneously attempting to prove that Gilman uses her writing to protest the oppression
against women in a patriarchal social system.

Gilman contravened the so called cure and left her husband before moving to California and

Chomsky s Theory Of Human Language
In the 1960s, Empiricism and Behaviorism reigned, yet these views are now commonly mostly
considered absurd due to Chomsky. Noam Chomsky, a prominent cognitive linguist and a great
contributor to analytical philosophy, is in awe of the concept of human language. The properties of
language enable humans to combine individual concepts together in indefinitely many ways,
making the range of human thought virtually unlimited. Chomsky is fascinated that language
enables humans to say virtually anything and cooperate to make plans with each other. The faculty
of language is arguably what makes human beings cognitively distinct from other creatures.
Through narrowing the scope of human language, adopting a rationalistic influence, proposing his
Cognitive Development Theory, and including essentialist aspects in his philosophy, Chomsky
gives linguisticsa respectable place in the greater sphere of epistemology.
Noam Chomsky creates a narrow scope of linguistics, reducing the focus of its study. Chomsky
believes studying the meaning, reference, and use of language should be excluded from the field of
linguistics. He insists the study must be focused toward the capacity of humans to acquire, to
utilize, and invent languages as well as the abstract structural patterns found in a particular language
under some idealization . Chomsky, apart from narrowing the scope, narrows the faculty of
language itself. Previously, the focus was centered on the diversity of linguistic performance and

The Existence Of Inter Class Friendship
The Existence of Inter Class Friendship in E.M. Forster s A Passage to India
Introduction
Interaction is the source of culture; no man is in a vacuum, each person inevitably interacts with the
other people. The interactions between people foregrounds the rise of human institution and culture
in the nation. This is also the case for different countries and nations. Interaction between different
nations has several reasons; it may be cultural, political and economic. Literature may stands for
cultural interaction. International convention may be a political one and trade is the economic.
However, of the three, literature has been more interesting since one can witness politics, culture
and economy in a literary work.
Literary works written from the beginning up to the present are shaped by the nature of interaction.
Ancient writers, in their works, deal with the idea of war and bravery. In the
Odyssey, the earliest written literary work, the second chapter is about Egypt and Phoenicia. He
depicts the Phoenicians as cruel, merciless and barbaric tribes. During the Middle Ages East has a
very similar image to that of Homer, but this time religion shapes the nature of interaction. In
Chaucer, for instance, infidels inhabit east; he calls for a crusade (Canterbury Tales). After the 15th
century East becomes the source of wealth, therefore, writers deal with East more seriously.
Particularly, after the modern era, beginning with industrial revolution, east acquires

The Oligarch s Idea Of Athenian Democracy

Goddess Demeter, hoping she would bless the day and allow for the rebuild and healing of Athens
to decisively begin. However, it seems Demeter was not immediately impressed with the offering, as
shortly thereafter a rain quall blew in from the Saronic Gulf and brought upon a deluge that
dismayed hundreds of Athenians attending the Assembly and innervated their sense to flee the

Financial Statements Of Cash Flow
The statement of cash flow is one of the financial statements that shareholders tend to evaluate to
ensure that all transactions are properly stated in each of the three activities mentioned above;
operating, investing, and financing. The statement of cash flows is also commonly overlooked by
both the balance sheets and income statements numbers.
The cash flow statement is important for the business as it brings valuable information that can
help evaluate a corporation. The statement will show if the business is low on money even if the
financial statements shows that is profitable. It will reflect if the owner withdrew to much cash from
the corporation. It will also reflect the principal payment of a loan and the correct amount used to
acquire equipment, property, and other assets that the income statement will not show. The absence
of this statement can hinder the operation of a business as the owner could easily fall in the
negative (loss) by not having eyes on the cash out flow exceeding the cash inflow.
Therefore, the adaptation of having a statement of cash flows becomes essential to any business or
organization. With the adaption of such a system personnel such as stakeholders become essential.
Stakeholders are a key role personnel when it comes to motivating the employees, acquiring
resources to assist on the final decision or final project, provide a valuable input, and ultimately

Evolution Of Symphony Orchestra Essay

The symphony orchestra underwent considerable evolutions from the time of Haydn at the
Esterhazy court to the time of Stravinsky s Rite of Spring. The symphony orchestra during the
classical era consisted of fewer instruments and shorter pieces. Haydn, a composer of the romantic
era, wrote his compositions for small orchestras and other musical ensembles. Composing for
wealthy patrons was how musicians and composers made an income for themselves Due to these
small and private concerts, the orchestra s did not need to be very large. The term orchestra usually

Influences On John Steinbeck s Literary Works
Influences on Steinbeck s Literary Works John Steinbeck was born in Salinas, California and,
according to James Ryan, the eleventh dean of the Harvard Graduate School of Education who
wrote a biography about Steinbeck, was the son of the Monterey County Treasurer and a former
school teacher. Steinbeck worked as a laborer on surrounding farms and ranches and grew up in
an agricultural community called Monterey County, and later on, made a profound impact on
Steinbeck s writing. For example, one of his novels, The Pearl; all of the protagonists were
Mexicans. This is because of the location Steinbeck would spend his vacation: working in farms
and ranches surrounded by Mexican ethnicity. Steinbeck used the places where he was raised as the

Millions of nerve fibres link the brain s two hemispheres, the logical side to the creative side.
Stimulating these links allows better brain potential to be drawn out. The brains two hemispheres
are known as the cerebral cortex. Piracetam nootropics works on the central nervous to protect the
cerebral cortex from a lack of oxygen. Studies have shown that the quality of interaction with
Piracetam and oxygen helps improve memory abilities.
One study involving volunteering adolescents who used Piracetam over a period of 14 months
showed improvements in the academic performance of all volunteers. The students that took part
were those that had been underperforming and under achieving. It was concluded that Piracetam
was able to improve memory, vigilance and consciousness.
Similar positive effects have been seen with Piracetam and Dyslexia. A study carried out by Tallal

What Happens To A Dream Deferred By Langston Hughes Essay
During the Harlem Renaissance, many look towards big cities to pursue their dreams. Langston
Hughes, a famous poet, knew how important dreams were and he saw dreams crumble during his
times. Dreams are a big deal in life because people set dreams to give themselves hope. When
their dreams crumble, their spirits die as well because they have nothing else to strive for. In
Harlem, Hughes uses vivid imagery and similes to illustrate how dreams deferred upset and defeat
the human spirit inside one s self. Hughes starts his poem with the rhetorical question what happens
to a dream deferred (line 5)? He then offers a series of responses towards the question, to remind
the world how important dreams are to the human spirit. In each response, Hughes... Show more

The mention of the raisin in the sun (line 3) makes the reader picture a dry shriveled raisin lying
in the sun. After that Hughes states whether a denied dream fester like a sore (line 4). Here the
readers picture a nasty running sore, which coveys the consequences of deferred dreams.
Hughes then asks if dreams stink like rotten meat (line 6). This description makes the readers
sense the rotten smell of meat, which is not a pleasant smell. Next he says dreams are a heavy
load (line10). This image makes one think of a person carrying hard work by themselves,
without anybody s help. They are so exhausted that they drop the load and put it away for now.
People tend to put their dreams away and once their put away it s hard to pick them back up.
They tend to not have the same drive or momentum they had once before. To conclude this poem,
Hughes ask the final question whether a dream just explode (line 11). This is a very strong and
bold word to compare a dream to because explode means the end. This verb makes the readers
picture and hear the sound of a bomb exploding. This is the final step of a dream crumbling because
once one have gone through so much, they can no longer contain themselves. This leaves their
human spirit empty and

  • 2. Tax Benefits Of The Tax Under the tax law, certain tax benefits can significantly reduce a taxpayer s regular tax amount. The alternative minimum tax (AMT) applies to taxpayers with high income by setting a limit on those benefits. It helps to ensure that those taxpayers pay at least a minimum amount of tax. The AMT is the excess of the tentative minimum taxover the regular tax. Therefore, the AMT is owed only if the tentative minimum tax is greater than the regular tax. The tentative minimum tax is figured separately from the regular tax. In general, compute the tentative minimum tax by: 1.Computing taxable income eliminating or reducing certain exclusions and deductions, and taking into account differences with respect to when certain items are taken into account in computing regular taxable income and alternative minimum taxable income (AMTI) 2.Subtracting the AMT exemption amount 3.Multiplying the amount computed in (2) by the appropriate AMT tax rates 4.Subtracting the AMT foreign tax credit (IRS.gov, 2016) (p. 1) The federal tax law sets the AMT exemption amounts and AMT tax rates. Taxpayers can use the special capital gain rates in effect for the regular tax if they are lower than the AMT tax rates that would otherwise apply. Some tax credits that reduce regular tax liability do not reduce AMT tax liability. If a taxpayer is not liable for AMT this year, but he or she paid AMT in one or more previous years, they may be eligible to take a special minimum tax credit against their ... • 4. Women s Role Of Women In The Medieval Period As many would believe, women were thought and viewed to be inferior to men throughout history. Based on this, they were not seen as ones to take on the same important roles as men would in their societies like political jobs, warfare, influencer and innovators, and scientists. During the Medieval period, women rose and began defying the normal stereotypes, even more than usual, and were recognized by their actions. One woman was Margaret of Anjou, the queen consort of England. Margaret was the daughter of RenГ© of Anjou and the wife of Henry VI. Her home country France was at war against England and she was offered to King Henry VI as a peace treaty. Being a queen consort, she did not rule and was an asset to the king. When King Henry suffered from an illness, Margaret believed she was the one who should temporarily rule in his place. Unfortunately, title was given to the Duke of York. This occurrence caused a rivalry to emerge between the House of Lancasterand the House of York; This was called the War of the Roses as Lancaster wore red roses in battle and York wore white. The various shots of the setting that are presented between cuts to the streets and to the intrigued face of the protagonist, Jaime Escalante, help provide the viewer context to this neighborhood s economic and cultural background. This movie directed by Ramon Menendez dramatizes actual events into a movie with the idea of combating stereotypes enforced upon low income Latinos and presenting a success story with the use of different Latino characters with their own unique conflicts. These figures are unfortunate because having multiple Latino roles in American films is beneficial in representing a diverse Latino community which avoids the portrayal of a single character as a token representative of an entire race. The movie Stand and Deliver was even added to the Library of Congress National Film Registry which described it as one of the most popular of a new wave of narrative feature films produced in the 1980s by Latino filmmakers. Therefore, the images that this movie conveys continues to hold a great importance in the representation of Latinos, particularly in the treatment of characters that could further promote stereotypes. American Conquest Research Paper According to the Anglo Saxon Chronicle on William I, the first Norman king was a very wise and great man, and more honored and more powerful than any of his predecessors , but he also caused castles to be built and oppressed the poor. 1 The portrait of William the Conqueror is very conflicted, especially in this source since it was written from an Anglo Saxon perspective, or, in other words, from the perspective of the loser side of the 1066 Hastings battle. If the Norman Conquest had any impact on England, it can certainly be expressed in terms of changes in the political balance of power. I will argue, however, that the Norman Conquest did not radically change England, at least not on every aspect, but certainly opened the way for deeper... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Firstly, William brought new incomes with his new lands, even if it still seems less important to the huge Angevin empire of Henry II, that also included Aquitaine, Maine and Anjou. There was also a decrease in land value, especially in the North after their two revolts against the king, which led to the systematical destruction of the countryside by William I, to make sure that no army could ever be raised from here. However, William also had a positive impact on the English economy, since he developped the trade with the Continent, expanded the cities and encouraged urbanization and the settlement of Jews, who could lend with interest and thus trigger the economic growth. William II continued his father work but apparently increased the taxes. Thus, the Council, after William II s death, required that his brother, Henry I, abolish all the previous taxes, fines, especially on marriage and inheritance. Thus, Henry promised that all fines and debts which were owed to [his] brother [are] remit[ted]. 4 Once again however, Henry II is way more striking in that matter. He invented two taxes, the scutage that allows a vassal to pay money to the king instead on his military service, and the aid, a special tax for marriages and knighting ceremonies. Thus, Henry II went even further and institutionalized the taxes that the Normans previously unformely ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A 54 year old Catholic woman stated in an interview conducted on the topic of the modernization of the church insightfully noted that Vatican II allowed for practical changes, like music and singing, and women allowed into upfront roles as readers, lectors, and Eucharistic ministers, as well as altar servers in some places. Vatican II aimed to produce a different experience of the mass, but also set out to reposition the church in a relative relationship with the modern world (Mathis). With smaller scale changes occurring within the Roman Catholic Church, pro choice Catholics hoped the Vatican II could also change its views on women s sexual health. Conversation about abortion and birth control legitimately started within the Catholic Church for the first time in the early 1960s prior to this era, such topics were not even murmured let alone acknowledged. However, women vocalizing concerns about sexual wellbeing often poses a problem for the modern religious woman: Catholic women whose feminist consciousness is raised have been alienated from the Catholic hierarchy by few issues so much as by the abortion issue. Women are finding it difficult to take a moral stance on something that is not only a religious problem, but also a social one: Unlike men, who have always enjoyed virtually total control over their participation in the reproductive process . . . women have never been able to freely determine [their participation because] ... When people use photographs in most of today s society, it is to show factual evidence that their arguments and story are true. Two early devices that have shaped the use of photography are the camera obscura and the stereoscope. Both use the eyes to attempt to create accurate depictions of the world around them, especially in trying to allow people to see the parts of the world that are foreign to them. While a lot of the scientists go into the world of Pandora using the bodies of the Na vi, immersing themselves into the world as if they were looking at it in a stereoscopic way, the human society remains in the camera obscura way of viewing the world: misinterpreted with details missing and disconnected. They rely on the methods of science and what they learned from history about different races to gather a picture of what they think life on Pandora is. There is a difference between the outside world and the inside laboratories that they observe from, creating a disconnect between the reality and the representation. Much like the World Fairs or the colonial idea of savagery, the humans take on a belief that they are getting a true representation of the world around them, but in reality, they are missing vital pieces to the puzzle. The Yellow Wallpaper Patriarchal Analysis Essay Throughout literary history, there have been prominent fictional and nonfictional narratives that not only concentrate on various cultures, but also allow the writer to critique societal issues that cause one or more of these cultures to come into conflict with one another. Regardless of race, creed or any other defining factor, these issues allow readers to experience different cultures firsthand and, at the same time, better understand what it means to be human. Three months later, when her mental health failed to improve, Gilman contravened the so called cure and left her husband before moving to California and starting her writing career. It was the aforementioned events that inspired Gilman to write a short story based on her experiences; one that emphasized the world in which Gilman lived. • 29. Chomsky s Theory Of Human Language In the 1960s, Empiricism and Behaviorism reigned, yet these views are now commonly mostly considered absurd due to Chomsky. Noam Chomsky, a prominent cognitive linguist and a great contributor to analytical philosophy, is in awe of the concept of human language. The properties of language enable humans to combine individual concepts together in indefinitely many ways, making the range of human thought virtually unlimited. Chomsky is fascinated that language enables humans to say virtually anything and cooperate to make plans with each other. The faculty of language is arguably what makes human beings cognitively distinct from other creatures. Through narrowing the scope of human language, adopting a rationalistic influence, proposing his Cognitive Development Theory, and including essentialist aspects in his philosophy, Chomsky gives linguisticsa respectable place in the greater sphere of epistemology. Noam Chomsky creates a narrow scope of linguistics, reducing the focus of its study. Chomsky believes studying the meaning, reference, and use of language should be excluded from the field of linguistics. He insists the study must be focused toward the capacity of humans to acquire, to utilize, and invent languages as well as the abstract structural patterns found in a particular language under some idealization . Chomsky, apart from narrowing the scope, narrows the faculty of language itself. Previously, the focus was centered on the diversity of linguistic performance and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Forster s A Passage to India Introduction Interaction is the source of culture; no man is in a vacuum, each person inevitably interacts with the other people. The interactions between people foregrounds the rise of human institution and culture in the nation. This is also the case for different countries and nations. Interaction between different nations has several reasons; it may be cultural, political and economic. Literature may stands for cultural interaction. International convention may be a political one and trade is the economic. However, of the three, literature has been more interesting since one can witness politics, culture and economy in a literary work. Literary works written from the beginning up to the present are shaped by the nature of interaction. Ancient writers, in their works, deal with the idea of war and bravery. In the Odyssey, the earliest written literary work, the second chapter is about Egypt and Phoenicia. He depicts the Phoenicians as cruel, merciless and barbaric tribes. During the Middle Ages East has a very similar image to that of Homer, but this time religion shapes the nature of interaction. In Chaucer, for instance, infidels inhabit east; he calls for a crusade (Canterbury Tales). After the 15th century East becomes the source of wealth, therefore, writers deal with East more seriously. Financial Statements Of Cash Flow The statement of cash flow is one of the financial statements that shareholders tend to evaluate to ensure that all transactions are properly stated in each of the three activities mentioned above; operating, investing, and financing. The statement of cash flows is also commonly overlooked by both the balance sheets and income statements numbers. The cash flow statement is important for the business as it brings valuable information that can help evaluate a corporation. The statement will show if the business is low on money even if the financial statements shows that is profitable. It will reflect if the owner withdrew to much cash from the corporation. It will also reflect the principal payment of a loan and the correct amount used to acquire equipment, property, and other assets that the income statement will not show. The absence of this statement can hinder the operation of a business as the owner could easily fall in the negative (loss) by not having eyes on the cash out flow exceeding the cash inflow. When their dreams crumble, their spirits die as well because they have nothing else to strive for. In Harlem, Hughes uses vivid imagery and similes to illustrate how dreams deferred upset and defeat the human spirit inside one s self.
